Bear looked over Linda’s body as he thought about fucking her corpse but quickly changed his mind. He didn’t need any evidence pointing to him. How could he ever explain his semen being found in David’s mom?

Bear walked away from the crime scene and hid behind the stairs. He wanted to see David’s face when he came home to find both of his parents dead.

“Let’s see that nigga laugh at that,” Bear said out loud when he thought about how David and Rio had both laughed at him when he confronted David.

Two hours passed by when one of the neighbors had come out of their apartment and discovered Linda and David Sr. Bear knew she was going to call the police. It wasn’t smart to stick around when the cops came but he had to. He couldn’t wait to see the look on David’s face. Bear made sure that he was crunched down real low and stayed as quiet as a mouse while he watched everything unfold.

A little over thirty minutes had passed and the place was swarming with cops. Shortly after they arrived, David had walked off the elevator with Mark. Bear stood up with a smile on his face as he watched David’s every move. When David realized the cops were there for his parents, tears came to his eyes and he screamed. Bear’s smile brightened when he saw David’s tears and heard his horrified scream. The look on David’s face was priceless. No one would ever understand how much the look on David’s face that night brought Bear so much joy.

When Bear was done reminiscing about the past, he thought about Supreme’s mother. She was the first woman he’d ever found beautiful. Her beauty was unmatched until he met Choice Little.

Supreme stood in the hallway at the George Washington Carver apartments. His back was towards the wall while the back of his head rested up against the yellow brick wall. Supreme’s facial expression was hard as he stared at the apartment door where he used to stay with his parents.

Every time he was in New York, he would go back to the apartment where he grew up. Supreme closed his eyes. He could still see his mom’s smiling face. He could still smell her perfume. It was as if she was standing directly in front of him. Supreme could still hear his dad yelling in the hallway for him to return back home.

Then he opened his eyes. Supreme had a lot of good times in that apartment. He wished he could smile about those times but he couldn’t because the one bad memory Supreme had outweighed all of the good ones.

As Supreme stared at the door, he could still see it. It was clear as day and he was sure if he walked over to the door and bent down to the ground he would be able to touch his mother’s lifeless feet that barley crossed the threshold. No child should ever have to see their parents dead. That memory had destroyed half of his heart and tainted his childhood memories.

They were never able to find out who the killer was and Supreme often wondered who it could have been. He pulled out his phone to check the time. It was almost time to meet up with Rio and Dylan so Supreme bowed his head and said a quiet prayer for his parents before leaving.

Supreme, Dylan, and Rio sat in the car down the street from the motel Bear was staying.

“Yo B, you know it’s nothing to call up the cleaning crew and have this nigga taken care of. You’re in the position where you don’t have to get your hands dirty,” Rio said as he looked over at Supreme.

A minute or two passed before Supreme spoke. “Of course I know this, but this shit needs to be taken care of by me with my own hands. I want my face to be the last face he sees.”

“Yo boss man, you want me to come with you to watch your back?” Dylan asked from the backseat.

“Nah Dy, I’m good. If the pigs are called and I get caught then I guess it was meant to happen that way. As long as this nigga is no longer breathin’.” Supreme shrugged his shoulders. “That’ll be something that I could live with behind bars.”

All three guys sat in the car silently as they waited for Nessa to call Rio to let them know that the cost was clear. Ten minutes passed before she called and gave them the okay.

“As soon as I see you exit the hotel I’ll start driving down the street to scoop you,” Rio said.

Supreme nodded his head before putting his black hoodie over his head and getting out of the car. He made sure that the hood was pulled low over his eyes. It was quiet in the motel when Supreme entered He and Nessa made eye contact as he walked over to the counter and picked up the spare key to Bear’s room. Supreme took the steps two at a time.

Flashes of seeing Choice in the hospital bed flashed through his head like a Polaroid camera... the screams from her nightmares. Supreme clenched his jaw at the anticipation of killing this man. He’d never wanted to take another person’s life as much as he wanted to take Bear’s. Choice was the only person who had been able to heal Supreme’s heart. She brought joy back into his life.

Bear had violated her. He could’ve killed her and his unborn child. That was a major violation and Bear’s time was up. Supreme quietly opened up the door to Bear’s room as he held the gun tightly in his hand.

“Oh shit!” Bear hollered when he saw Supreme.

Supreme fired his gun but missed. Bear quickly rolled off of his bed. He reached under his bed for his loaded gun. A smile spread across his face when he felt the cold steel in his hand. He fired two shots and hit Supreme in the chest.

Supreme looked down at his chest as he felt a burning sensation throughout his body.
