“Hey man, how did it go with that chick Cindy? Did you tap it that night?” Zeek asked.

I focused on my tuning pegs on the neck of my guitar, “No man. She’s not like the chicks we usually hang with.”

Zeek’s brows lifted, “Well that sucks. She one of those chicks that wants a wine and dine date before she puts out?”

Zeek and the band usually boasted about the chicks we banged, but I didn’t want to talk about Cindy that way. “Not sure yet. She’s just different.”

Toby twirled his drum stick and tapped his cymbal, “That’s righteous Eric. So, are you gonna to see her again?”

It had been over a month since she left, and I wanted to pick up a phone and call her so many times. But I didn’t. “I got her number and she’s got mine. Maybe I’ll see her again, maybe I won’t.” I hope I would though.

The day after, I fumbled through the mailbox, pulling out and sifting through envelopes, hoping one was from Cindy. And there it was. “Yes!” I whispered to myself. I tore open the envelope, my heart pounding in my chest, just wanting to look at her handwriting before I read it. Her cursive scroll was feminine and cute. She thanked me for the wonderful time she had that night on the beach. She got a summer job working at the local video rental store with her friend Angie. But she didn’t need a job to get by. She got the job so she could get away from the smothering of her parents and brother. She signed it and drew a heart next to her name with a PS: “I hope you will call me someday.”

I rushed back in the house, and picked up the wall phone, dialing her number which I had memorized. I had her address memorized too. A woman’s voice came over the telephone after three rings, “Hello?” It didn’t sound like Cindy, so I made a good guess that it was her mother.

I cleared my throat and tried to sound as polite as possible, “Hello mam, this is Eric. Is this the Johnson residence?”

Heart stopping silence. “Yes, it is. This is Mrs. Johnson.”

“Is Cindy home ma’am? Can I speak to her?”

I heard the muffled sound of her hand covering the phone. More silence.

“Hello?” Cindy’s sweet voice came through the telephone.

  “Cindy?”

  “Eric?”

My heart pounded against my chest. “Yeah it’s Eric. I just read your letter. I never got a letter from a chick. That was nice. Thanks.”

  “You’re welcome.”

Suddenly I was tongue tied. And that never happened when I talked chicks. “So, how’s your new job?”

“Good. I’m earning some extra money over the summer before I go back to college.” Her voice lowered to a whisper “And I can get away from my mom and dad too.”

“I chuckled, “Yeah. I guess that can get lame at times. So, are you still a virgin?” I couldn’t help but ask. And I needed to know, my possessive instincts kicking in.

“That’s none of your business Eric. But yes. I am.”

“You knew I would ask you. Only because you’re not like all the other chicks I know.”

“I know, I know. You like the cool and wild girls. I guess I’m just not cut out to be that type of girl.”

“No. You’re not that type. And that’s what I really like about you.”

“Stop teasing me Eric, or I’ll hang up!”

“I’m not.” Then I cleared my throat, feeling like a dork, “I can’t stop thinking about you.” I raked a hand through my hair because of the silence from the other end of the phone.

“I think about you too, Eric.” Her voice soft.

“And I’m sorry I never called before. To be honest, I didn’t think I was your type of guy.”

“That’s ok. Because I didn’t think I was your type of girl either.”

“So, my band has some gigs set up to play there near you in DC next month. How about I take you out on a date when I get there?”

“Sure Eric! But, you will have to meet my parents.”

Shit. I didn’t even think about that. “Sure. I’ll meet them. Not sure if they’re going to like what they see. But I’ll get spiffed up. I’ll even get a haircut and cover up the tattoo. For you.”

  “No.”

  “No?”

“No. I want you to be yourself when you meet them.”

“Sure babe. I can do that too. For you.”

  CINDY

“Who is he?” Mom already interrogated me before I even hung up the telephone.

I banged it back onto wall receiver and turned to her “His name is Eric. I met him in Ocean City. He’s a nice guy. And he wants to take me out on a date.”

She folded her arms, “Now Cindy, you should focus on your college education for the next few years. Don’t get too wrapped up with young boys – “

I huffed “I’m an adult now mom. College is all I ever focus on. This is the first time a guy has ever been interested in me. And not just for sex.”

“Look at how your friend Angie is turning out. She gives it out to every guy she bats her eyes at. She doesn’t care about her future. Or her reputation!”

“Angie is my friend. And that’s her choice how she lives her life. She has way more fun than I do!” I turned to head back upstairs to my room to continue writing another letter to Eric before he called.

My dad just walked in with his briefcase, his tie loose, dropping his keys on the foyer table. He must have walked just as I raised my voice to mom. His brows lifted “I’ll not have some beach bum taking my daughter out on a date. Your mother is right. You focus on college for the next few years. We pay your tuition. What we say goes.”

I was fuming. The difference between how I was treated versus Tommy was weighed heavily for most of my life. “You and mom are being very unfair to me, Dad. Tommy can come and go as he pleases, not a care for anything, no responsibilities. He doesn’t even have a job!”

“He’s a lost cause. And that may be our fault. But we aren’t making the same mistakes with you Cindy. It’s harder for women out in the world than it is for men. You need to stay focused on your future, and not get wrapped up with some guy that most likely has no potential!”

I shook my head at him, but I couldn’t stop the tears. I ran upstairs to my room and slammed the door. I’ve always been good Cindy, Yuppie Cindy, Nerd Cindy, doing everything my parents wanted me to do. I kept my grades up well above a B+ in high school and into college. I wasn’t popular like Angie was. My nose was always in between the pages of a book. But Everything changed the moment I saw Eric. I got lost in the depths of his blue eyes and the tingling sensations that ran through my body.

I sat on my bed and grabbed the telephone from my nightstand. I dialed Angie’s house number and she answered, “Hello?”

“Hi Angie. It’s Cin. Guess who just called me?”

  “Who?”

  “Eric! From Ocean City!”

“The guitar player from Steel Dragon?”

  “Yes!”

“Oh my gawd Cindy! That’s bitchin! But he didn’t score with you, did he?

I blushed at Angie’s question, feeling a little embarrassed. “No. I’m still a virgin Ang. But I’m seriously thinking about going all the way with him.”

“But he lives three hours away. How are you going to make that happen?”

“The band just signed a contract with a record label! They plan on touring booking gigs up and down the East Coast! They’ll be coming to DC in a few weeks!” We both squealed at same time over the phone.

“That means I’ll get to see Zeek again Cin! He’s such a bad boy headbanger!”

Before I could even ask, Angie beat me to it “And yes, I did score with him that night you rode off with Eric! There was no way I would miss out on that!”

I giggled “How do you do it Angie? Guys are always falling at your feet. “

“It just comes natural to me. And don’t think you can’t do it too hun. You are one hip chick. Look at yourself in the mirror Cindy. You’re drop dead gorgeous! And you’re super smart. You’re going places. It’s no w
onder Eric has fallen for you! But don’t give yourself to him unless you want him. The first time should be special. If I could go back and save myself for someone special, I would. Give yourself to someone you really care about.”

I’d never heard Angie talk this way, with such good advice. We’d been friends since grade school. But we were total opposites – she was wild and carefree, where I was more subdued and always behaved and did as I was told. But I wasn’t a teenager anymore. I wanted to break free from the restricting rules my parents put on me. To be a free spirit like Angie. I wanted to know what it felt like to go all the way and have sex. But not with any guy. Only with Eric.

“Thanks Angie. You’re the best friend anyone could ever have.”

Angie’s laugh came through my phone receiver, “Awe Cindy. You’ve always been my best friend too.”

I heard three soft knocks on my bedroom door, “Cindy? Its Mom. Can I come in?”

I hung up with Angie. “Sure Mom.”

She came in and sat next to me on the bed. “You know both me and your Dad really care about you right?”

I looked down at my lap feeling bad about how I just behaved downstairs. “I know Mom. I’m sorry for flying off the handle. Its just sometimes the pressure I feel being totally focused on my college education gets to me sometimes. I’m not a teenager anymore. I never had a guy interested in me. I met Eric at Spring Break. He plays in a band – “

My mom placed her hand to her chest “He’s one of those ruffian types?”

“No mom. He’s a nice guy. He’s very talented and plays guitar in his band. He was a total gentleman. We sat on the beach together and watched the sunrise. It was romantic.”

“Well you know your father will want to meet Eric. He should to come to our house to meet us both if he wants to take you out on a date. And Cindy, don’t let this Eric push you into doing anything you don’t want to.”

I reached out and wrapped my arms around my mom, hugging her tight, “Oh thank you Mom! You will like him. I guarantee it!”

  ERIC

A few weeks after I spoke with Cindy on the phone, the band recorded our very first album in the studio. Our manager booked us some gigs at local nightclubs in Washington DC and all along the east coast from Baltimore, Maryland to New York City. I left my bike at home, and the band piled into Toby’s van, with all the instruments and equipment, or road with me in my old Ford Mustang. It was a clunky piece of shit muscle car. I couldn’t afford to fix it up, but it got us where we needed to go.

After a three hour long drive to Northern Virginia, we got some rooms at a not too shabby hotel outside the DC line. I couldn’t wait to check in, lug my guitars other things to my room. I wanted to be alone, so I could call Cindy and let her know I was in town. She had written me a few more letters over the past month, and I called her as much as I could.

I dialed her number and she answered in her sweet voice. I asked her out on a date for tomorrow night and the sound of her adorable giggle came over the phone and made my dick jump and strain against my jeans.

I pulled up and parked in front of her huge house in a yuppie neighborhood in Virginia. I became a little nervous and began to sweat. I looked into my rearview mirror, combing a hand through my hair and hoped I looked presentable enough to Cindy’s parents. I wore a light blue IZOD shirt, to pull off that yuppie look. But sleeve didn’t cover the lion tattoo on my bicep.

I walked up the steps and rang the doorbell, shoving my hands into my pockets. My heart pounded against my chest when Cindy appeared. She looked as gorgeous as she did the very first time I saw her at the nightclub. She wore a cute pink blouse with black polka dots and the tight stone washed jeans showed off her nice curvy hips. My eyes locked with hers and she smiled. I was nervous as hell, another first for me, as I shifted from one foot to the other. But then she crushed herself against me, wrapping her arms around my neck. I squeezed her tight, lifting off the ground. “I couldn’t wait to see you again.” I mumbled against her soft cheek. She smelled so good.

Her breath caressed my cheek. “I couldn’t wait to see you too.” I put her down and let her go. Her smile lit up her face, like that sunrise we watched together on the beach that early morning. “So, are you ready to meet my parents?”

I hooked a thumb under the collar of my IZOD shirt, “Well I didn’t wear this preppie get up for nothin.” I smirked and reached for her hand, so she could lead the way.

They were standing only a few feet from us in the foyer. She introduced me to them, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. Her father gave me a firm manly handshake, and his eyes went right to the tattoo. I shook her mother’s hand, but not so firm as I did with Mr. Johnson. Her smile didn’t reach her eyes.

Cindy gave them both hugs and told them not to wait up for her. Mr. Johnson gave me orders “I want her home by midnight Eric.”

I nodded to him, “Yes Sir. “

Showing Cindy that I was a gentleman, I walked around to the passenger side of my car and opened the door for her. The moment I got in the driver’s seat, I pulled her to me, claiming her mouth again. She moaned, and her hands reached to combed through my hair. My dick thickened and throbbed in my jeans. “I think about you everyday Cindy.” I groaned against her parted lips. “And I couldn’t wait to see you again. Touch you again. Kiss you again. You’re one of a kind.”

She looked at me with doe-eyed innocence, but with hunger too, “I was drawn to you the first time I saw you.” She kissed me again, her tongue circling mine. Our hands roamed over each other’s bodies. I wanted to devour her. She was the first to pull away. We both were breathing fast. “Eric, I can’t control myself. I wouldn’t be able to stop you if you took me right here, right now in your car.”

It took all the willpower I had not to follow through on her hot as hell demand! I gathered her little soft hands in mine. “No Cindy. Not in my car. You’re very special to me. And your first time with me is going to be special.”

She wrapped her arms around my shoulders, placing her cheek against my collar bone. I gathered her dark wavy hair in my hands, caressing her. “Let’s go have some fun tonight on our first date, sleepy cat.”

The band was scheduled to play some gigs at the nightclub in Georgetown called The Bayou that weekend, so I took Cindy to another nightclub a few blocks away. This club didn’t showcase live bands, but it had a huge dancefloor, and pulsating strobe lights. It was crowded with bodies dancing to Billy Idol’s “Mony Mony”. I spotted Zeek with Angie on the outskirts of the dancefloor. Cindy gripped my hand tightly as I weaved and bobbed us through the crowd to reach them. Her eyes lit up when she saw Angie and they hugged and squealed. I leaned down next to her ear, so she could hear me above the pounding music “Surprise! I thought having your friend Angie and Zeek hang out with us tonight would make the night more fun!”

She looked up at me with her gorgeous smile, “Thank you Eric!”

I had to tear my eyes away from her before I sported another woody right there in the nightclub. I went to the bar to get us a few beers, leaving her with Angie and Zeek. And when I returned, I kept her close to me all night. We even slowed danced together on the crowded dancefloor. I held her close, molding her to me, swaying to slow love songs. We starred at each other and shut out all the world around us. I leaned in and kissed her softly. I wanted to show her how special she was to me. Sometimes I felt like a clumsy teenager when I was next to her. Like it was my very first time being so close to a girl.

Later in the night, Cindy and Angie danced and laughed together. I was hypnotized just watching Cindy move and sway her hips seductively to a Prince song. Zeek nudged me, “So you really like this chick huh?” My eyes were glued to her. “Yeah man. She’s gorgeous, smart and has a wild side to her.”

Cindy grabbed my hand then, pulling me along through the crowd. I followed her as we weaved our way to a dark hallway. She stopped, pressing her back against the wall, and pulled me to her. She reached up, wrapping her arms around my shoulders, “I crave you
Eric.” She moaned into my ear and my dick got hard. Instantly. Both my hands seized her sexy little ass. I heard her gasp above the loud pounding music.

“I want to fuck you right here Cindy.” I growled, pulling her tighter against me. She was a wildcat through and through. She swayed a little bit in my arms. Then I realized she may have had one too many beers, along with a few shooters that her little body couldn’t handle.

I exhaled, snapping myself out of a haze of lust. I pulled back to see her eyes were a bit glazed, and her brows knitted together. “You’ve had too much to drink. I should take you home.”

She pushed against my chest, “No! I’m not going home! Not yet!” she shouted, her voice a little slurred. I couldn’t help but smile at my little wildcat.

  CINDY

My eyes fluttered open. The smell of clean sheets. I laid on my side. In a bed. In a hotel room. A muscled arm was draped over my waist. My back pressed against a hard bare chest. I turned to look behind me. Eric. His other arm perched, wide awake, smiling down at me. “Good morning sleepy cat.”

I smiled and arched back, stretching. I realized I was only wearing my bra and panties. Eric was shirtless too, but still wore his jeans under the covers. I yawned. “I guess I did drink a little too much last night.”

“Mm Hmm.” He mumbled as he began to nuzzle my neck. His jaw was rough with beard stubble. My nipples perked up and hardened at the sensation. His warm hand splayed over my stomach. He nudged his hips and I felt his hardness against my ass.

He titled my chin up to look at him, “I want to make love to you Cindy. I’ll be gentle and go as slow as you need me to. I’ll make it special. For both of us.” He covered his lips over mine. I couldn’t count how many times I fantasied about giving myself to Eric. I wanted him ever since the first time I saw him.
