“Oh, I know. Thank you. The food at your brother’s restaurant is to die for. I was so stuffed Monday night.” In more ways than one.

“We’re happy you’re here. I hope you decide to stay.”

  “I’m not going anywhere.”

She said her good-byes again to the three, and smiled all the way home. This was a wonderful little town. A bit quirky, but that’s why she liked it. Maybe everything would be okay if she just ignored the e-mails? She hadn’t answered any of them, and surely Dennis hadn’t recruited all his former flings to harass her. Maybe it was finally over, and she could put all this behind her and enjoy her new life?

  Chapter Nine

Harper woke to new text messages from both Lee and Mason, asking how everything had gone the night before, and informing her they were driving her to work. She could get used to this. She texted them back and told them it had gone well, and when they picked her up, she asked if they’d heard about Ria.

“Just last night. We had dinner with Zach, Harrison, Chad, and Dustin.”

“Oh, I see. That’s where those two went. Out on the town with the boys.”

Mason chuckled. “Right. A big night out. We had takeout from Nan’s at the police station because Harrison was on duty.”

She laughed. “Oh, that sounds exciting.”

“That’s about as thrilling as our lives were before you came along.” Mason placed his hand on her left thigh and Harper nearly came. “I miss holding you.”

“I miss you, too. Both of you. I can’t wait for tomorrow night.”

Lee reached over from the back seat and rubbed her shoulder. “Neither can we. We’re going to fuck you silly after we introduce you to BDSM play. I hope you know that.”

Harper laughed. “Oh thank God. Because I’m dying here.” Shivers ran up and down her spine, and her pussy grew wet.

Mason’s hand traveled up her thigh, stopping just short of reaching under her skirt. “We’ll make it worth the wait. I promise.”

His voice was full of ripe promise, and it brought back every decadent moment of Monday night. Had it really only been three days since then? She felt as though she’d lived a lifetime since that night.

Harper was given a third project to work on as soon as she arrived, and she was so busy that she didn’t notice it was nearing lunchtime until Mason texted her to ask if she wanted to meet them downstairs. As they ate, she told him and Lee about the joint project between Notus and Giolanna Design Solutions, and they asked well-thought out questions. It was then she realized she knew next to nothing about what they did all day, or the projects on which they worked. She made a mental note to ask them more about their day-to-day jobs as soon as they had more time together.

During the afternoon, Lee texted to say they were bringing her dinner, and then taking her shopping at Tye Me Up. She squealed a bit too loudly after texting him back, and Ginger poked her head around the corner of Harper’s cubicle to ask what was so exciting.

  “Another date.”

“You haven’t told us shit about this. Who is he? Where are you going?”

Harper faced her computer monitor. “Too busy right now. Another time.”

Ginger mumbled something Harper didn’t quite catch as she went back to her own work space. Nothing could ruin this day for her. But she did need to speak with the guys about how much they wanted her to say at work. She didn’t want her coworkers thinking she was aloof. That was the mistake she’d made at Tray, and it had cost her dearly.

When they showed up at her apartment for dinner, they brought Greek food from a place called Akropolis in Lafayette. “We go there for lunch sometimes,” said Lee. He spread out a feast on her table, and then Mason took out a bottle of Ouzo.

“If you’re having Greek food, you need Greek booze. Have you ever tasted this?”

“Only once. Where did you get it?”

“A little place up north near the state line. He always has unusual imports.”

Dinner was delicious and lively. Lee and Mason made her laugh with stories of some of the projects they’d worked on and the less than desired results in the lab. By the time she cleaned up and they were ready to drive her over to Tye Me Up, she knew more about what they did at work than she’d ever wanted to know. It sounded like their entire department had way too much fun, but they also were involved with trying to turn intriguing ideas into reality.

Tye Me Up was a restored Queen Anne that Harper learned Kari and Alexa had bought two years ago. As a result, all the nearly-finished Victorian homes on Lawnview Drive would house upscale boutique shops like their own. Chase Taylor and Ellis McCree, the building inspector and one of Marisol Santiago’s Doms, had both been the driving forces behind the project.

Harper liked Kari Tye and Alexa Monahan on sight. Both were warm and welcoming, and she loved the pink streaks Alexa had put in her blonde hair. “I’ve had them for three years. I’m ready for a change, but I can’t decide what color.”

“With your eye color, I bet turquoise would look stunning.”

Alexa smiled. “I hadn’t thought about that. I’ll have to ask Luke and Chase what they think. How do you like working for Maggie? Luke always speaks highly of her.”

  “I love her. She’s wonderful.”

“So, what are you looking for today?”

She shrugged. “I don’t know. I’ve never owned club wear.”

“We were thinking something deep blue, to bring out her eyes,” said Mason.

“And sexy,” said Lee. “She has curves and great legs. She should show them off.”

Alexa grinned like someone had just told her a juicy secret, and Harper’s heart soared. These two made her feel like the sexiest woman on the planet, and that was more thrilling for her than a lifetime of stolen quickies in the building at Tray Industries. She wasn’t merely a plaything for them, and Harper still couldn’t wrap her mind around that. This wasn’t a fling. It was the real deal. She was overwhelmed with so many emotions, and realized how easy it would be to lose her heart to these two. Too damn easy.

As Alexa led them around the store, pointing out various skirts, halter tops, and bodysuits, the guys critiqued each one, choosing only the ones all three liked, until Harper had an armful of clothing to try on. Alexa led them upstairs and told them they could use one of the spare bedrooms for more privacy, since the shop was full of customers and all the fitting rooms had waiting lines.

“We only do this for good friends. Since you work for Luke’s sister, you qualify. Just come on down when you’re done and let me know if you need help finding more pieces to try on.”

“Thank you.” Harper had never been in a shop where customers were treated like family. She gazed at Lee and Mason. “Is there anyone in this town you two haven’t already charmed?”

They chuckled. “The BDSM community here is tight,” said Mason. “We look out for each other. Now, do you want to try these on with us watching, or should we wait out in the hallway and you can model each one for us?”

She glanced around the bedroom. Except for the fact that it obviously wasn’t used by anyone, there was a bed, and the door locked. “If we stay in here and I start trying on clothes, that won’t be all that happens.”

Lee laughed loudly and pulled her close, stroking her hair. “You’re right. And I’m not sure Alexa meant for things to go quite that far, so we’ll wait in the hallway.”

“Not that we don’t want things to go that far,” said Mason. “I’m dying to make love to you again.”

“I’m dying for that, too. With both of you. Thank you.” She touched Lee’s face. “Seriously…thank you both. You make me believe I’m beautiful and sexy.”

Lee frowned. “You are both. Why would you think you’re not?”

  “Bad experiences.”

“Well he’s not here.” His voice was hard, but not angry. “We are. And you’re the sexiest woman either of us has ever met. You got that?”

  “Yes, Sir.”

  His grin se
nt a gush of wetness to her pussy. “You’ll be calling us both ‘Sir’ tomorrow night. In fact, let’s start that now, okay? I like hearing you say it.”

“I like saying it.” Her heart fluttered. This was what she’d fantasized about. It was really going to happen! She could hardly contain her excitement.

“Good. Then it’s settled. We’ll be right out there, waiting.”

As Harper modeled each piece for them, she began to imagine what it would be like to live with them and be treated this way all the time. Was something like that even possible? Kari and Alexa had that. She knew that Alexa lived up here with Chase and Luke. Kari lived in a condo on Turbine Trail with Noah Wells and Adison Kincaid, her two Doms. Adison was head of security at Notus and Noah was an R&D specialist there, although he didn’t work on the same team as Lee and Mason.

Ria lived with Trent and Wyatt in their condo, Olivia shared a home with Storm and Cameron on Dogwood Trail, close to where Lee and Mason lived, and Gina lived with Zach and Harrison in Zach’s home, also on Dogwood Trail. Julie lived in Maddox’s mansion with him and Sean, and she’d just been to Annalise, Chad, and Dustin’s home last evening. All these women had two Doms, and they were obviously very much in love. Why couldn’t she have that, too? It was more than possible, especially in this town. Why did she doubt herself like this?

“Oh, I love that one.” Mason’s tongue practically fell out of his mouth as Harper walked into the hallway wearing a royal-blue corset with black trim. It had matching crotchless panties which she hadn’t put on, as well as elbow-length gloves with lace trim at the open fingertips. “That one is a definite buy. But I think you need tall black boots to go with it.” He glanced at Lee. “Don’t you?”

Lee nodded. His eyes were glazed over, and it was all Harper could do not to pull them both into the room and fuck them silly.

When she had modeled everything, they choose boots and a few other accessories for her, and then she asked if she needed to bring anything else to the club, like toys.

Lee grinned again, sending fresh waves of desire coursing through her body. “I assure you, we have absolutely everything you could possibly hope we’ll use on you. But please look around. If there’s something you see that intrigues you, we’ll buy that, too.”

She felt like royalty with these two. Harper had never been much of a fairy tale fan, but she understood the appeal. Handsome prince swoops in and makes everything perfect, because he has time, money, and charm to do it. She’d never met a real prince, and it was unlikely she would, but these two were better than any fairy-tale prince. They were real. And they cared about her more than she’d ever cared about herself.

They’d never use her, or cheat on her, or cyber stalk her. She needed to tell them what was going on. They’d protect her, and probably do something about it. Something she couldn’t do on her own. It was time to come clean. It was time to trust someone.

They left the store, each carrying a large shopping bag filled with club wear, a few new toys, one pair of boots and two new pairs of shoes. Harper was laughing at a joke Lee had just told when her gaze swept up and down the street. There was a fair amount of traffic because Tye Me Up plus one other shop were now both open.

Kari had told her earlier that Ava Harmony owned the shop next door, Harmony Music. Ava was a cello player from Chicago who now gave private lessons in the shop as well. She’d gone into business with her Doms, Gary Reed and Jake Malloy.

“Malloy? As in the Malloys who own Notus?”

Kari smiled and nodded. “Yep. One and the same. You didn’t know we had celebrities living in Racy?”

Harper laughed. “I didn’t know we had Malloys living here.”

“He’s the only one who lives here. Kind of the outcast in his family.”

She hadn’t yet learned the names of most of the Malloy family members, but it was good to know one of them was right here in town, and that he was in the lifestyle. But now, her attention focused on a dark gray Infiniti cruising slowly toward them. Her heart nearly stopped as she watched it approach.

It was possible that someone else in Racy drove the exact same car. The proof would be if the front license plate read “Accountants Do It By The Numbers,” but she didn’t want to find out. She turned and walked toward Mason’s car, hoping the driver hadn’t yet come close enough to get a good look at her.

By the time it passed the shop, she was already in the passenger seat, clutching her bags. Lee reached for them. “Let me put those in the trunk with ours.”

“It’s a short ride home. Let’s just go.”

He tilted his head slightly, looked like he was going to say something, but then climbed into the back seat and they drove off. Harper tried to mentally force herself to calm down, but it was difficult to do when her entire body trembled. She didn’t dare glance at Mason right now. He’d see by the look on her face that something was wrong.

By the time they reached her apartment, she’d convinced herself that it had been her imagination. Cars looked alike, especially under street lights. There was no way Dennis would have the nerve to drive into town and look for her. No way.

They walked her upstairs, and she suddenly didn’t want to be alone. But how could she ask them to stay without tipping her hand?

“What’s going on?” Mason’s voice was quiet, but his tone held a note that gave her no doubt he expected an answer.

“I just got spooked, that’s all. Saw a car that reminded me of someone.”

He and Lee exchanged a quick glance. “Dennis? Does he know where you live?”

“I don’t see how he could.” That wasn’t a lie. She truly had no idea how he had found her. But the e-mails had only said he knew she was in Racy, not specifically where in town she lived. That was good, right?

But what if he had followed Mason’s car to this building?

No. She’d glanced in the side mirror every few seconds on the way here. No one had followed them.

Lee brushed her arm, and she nearly jumped. “Are you sure you’re all right? We could stay for a while. It’s not too late.” It was nearly nine o’clock, but her heart melted at the offer. She knew they must be as tired as she was, but they were concerned about her.

“No, I’m okay. Honestly I am.” She gave each one a tight hug and a kiss. “Thank you so much for all this. I’m overwhelmed. I really am.”

Neither man looked entirely convinced, but they finally both told her they’d see her in the morning, and then they left. Harper didn’t go to bed. Instead, she sat next to the windows, looking out at the street and the river walk down below.

There was no one out this late. He didn’t know where she was. It hadn’t been him on Lawnview Drive. She was being ridiculous, and it was time to get some sleep. She needed to be well rested for tomorrow night.

  Chapter Ten

Mason glanced at Lee, who had taken the passenger seat after they’d left Harper’s apartment. “What the hell spooked her back there?”

“I wish I knew. Did you find anything on Avery yet?”

Mason nodded. “Yes. I was going to tell you when we had a moment. He has a profile on LinkedIn that lists him as working for an architectural firm in Detroit. Small place. They do commercial work, mostly for companies in Michigan. He can’t be making even half as much as Tray was likely paying him.”

“Does it say anything about his personal life?”

Mason shook his head. “Not a thing. Very sketchy profile, and it doesn’t list his past experience or how long he’s been with this current firm.”

“I’d hide that fact, too, if I were him. I found his Facebook account, but he has it locked down. Can’t see anything unless you friend him. He also has a Twitter account, but it doesn’t look like he tweets very much. He only has a handful of followers, all women, and they look young. Not teen young, but late twenties to early thirties.”

  “Sounds like a real catch.”

  Lee snorted. “Yeah.”

Mason mentally went over the f
ew moments between leaving Tye Me Up and walking to his car in the front parking lot. What had set Harper off? The only thing he remembered were several cars driving past. Shit. He snapped his fingers. “That’s it. That’s what scared her.”

  “What?”

“The car. Or rather, one of them. That’s what spooked her. One of the cars she saw coming down the street. It has to be. Everything was fine until then. She was laughing at a joke you told, and then she practically ran to my car.”

“What the fuck? You think he drove here to find her?”

“I don’t know. Maybe the reason she’s so freaked out by the e-mails and Facebook posts is because he’s found her, and that’s what they said.”

“Holy fuck. If that’s true, she’s alone right now…”

Mason stopped the car and turned it around. “No she’s not. She’s moving in with us. Tonight.”

Harper took a few minutes to answer the door, and when she did, it was obvious she’d been crying again. She stared at them for several seconds, as if trying to come to terms with the fact that they were back so soon, then moved aside and let them in. She walked over to the table and opened her laptop, then clicked a few more things, and pushed it toward them. Mason could actually see her fingers trembling.

“This is the text of the Facebook posts I found this week. The first two are from Dennis, and the next four are from two of the women he was fooling around with. I never knew them, and I don’t know how they found me.”

Mason sat down and began to read.

“Is your profile set to private?” asked Lee.

“No. I never had a reason to do that.”

“Then we’ll take care of that tonight. What about the e-mails you mentioned?”

  “They’re saved, too.”

“Did he have your e-mail address when you left Tray?” asked Mason.

  “No. We never e-mailed.”

“So you don’t know how he found it?”

She shook her head. “We never posted to each other on Facebook either, although I suppose that was easy to find.”
