Or did he misunderstand her “Wildlife and Fisheries” major as many others had?It was not about studying the wild lives of young college students, but about life in wilderness, about animals and fishes. No, not party animals, real animals! Animals living in the natural wilderness.
He sometimes seemed interested but at other times, distant and afraid. Afraid of what?
She had finally gathered enough courage to send him those cookies in the shape of the heart, sprinkling them generously with red color. That was a very clear signal. He’s supposed to be smart.
The fact that he didn’t call means he isn’t interested. She feels so bad about taking that chance, sending those cookies.
She cannot do anything more. She cannot take the risk of getting hurt again, by confessing her love to him. She has been hurt too many times.
Y read his letter again and again. It was funny. It was the most creative thing he had ever written. But he could not take the risk. The stakes were too high; the probability of success was too low.
Cupid had arranged everything right. They were brought together from two different worlds, thousands of miles apart, at the beautiful town of Davis in California. They both wanted each other, needed each other. But it was not meant to be. He could not gather courage to respond to her message encrypted in those cookies.
With teary eyes, he throws the letter away. This was not home. And he wasn’t going to risk getting hurt in another land. And something hardens inside, into steel.

The metamorphosis is complete. The 21-year-old kid finally becomes a man: away from home, among strangers. X was the catalyst needed to complete the annealing process.
Now what?
Fasten your seat belt, push down the pedal, and begin your journey! No time to stop or slow down, you have a long way to go. Conquer this land. Conquer their minds, but more importantly, Conquer their hearts. Win their smiles.
