  “No problem homie.”

The dance floor was shoulder to shoulder. Q had pulled Tee and El on the dance floor rocking while Tim and Terri fought to keep their hands off each other. When the show was over Q walked Tee and El to her car. Tee looked at Q.

“Baby what time will you be there? Do you want anything to eat?”

“Nah ma. I probably won’t make it until tomorrow anyway.’’

  “What?”

“Come on Tee, you know we have to count the bar and booth. Then somebody has to clean this place up.”

“Q it’s not like you can’t get nobody to take care of the cleaning.”

“Aiight ma, I’ll be there as soon as we get the money counted. Cool?”

“I love you,” she said before pulling off. Q stood there knowing he had been defeated. Damn, there goes my trip to Fayetteville he thought. After leaving the club Terri and Tim pulled up at Shoney’s to grab something to eat. After eating they went to Tim’s house on Midway Road.

“Make yourself at home while I check these messages.’’ He gave her one of his nylon undershirts and shorts to put on after she had a shower.

“Everything else is in the bathroom shawty.” After checking his messages Tim showered and headed for his couch. Terri laid on his bed half asleep. He flipped through the channels on his 52” plasma screen. After dozing off he was suddenly awakened by Terri’s voice.

“Is this the way you treat all your company?”

  “Nah ma, I just thought...”

“Well maybe you should leave the thinking to me,” she said standing in front of his TV screen. Tim could see the outline of her body as she walked toward him. She laid between his legs with her head on his stomach. Tim fought hard to control his erection. He tried pulling her up to him by her shoulders. “Come here ma.”

“But I’m comfortable right here baby,” she said catching on to what he was trying to do.

Looking up at him with those green eyes was all he could take. Tim watched TV as much as he could. Terri’s nipples were so long they stuck out at least an inch through her nylon shirt. She rubbed Tim through his silk boxers. “Damn Terri that shit feels good.”

She sucked on his nipples then his stomach before licking around the head of his dick. Tim finally relaxed and began to enjoy Terri’s loving. The couch was uncomfortable, but hell, this is where she started it so he was game. Tim took his time feasting on Terri. He had slid his body off the front of the couch between her legs. At first he sucked her through the nylon shorts. She moaned his name in every slurred sentence she could get out while gasping for breath. Tim pulled her shorts down and off without missing a beat. He had her legs raised as high as they would go. “Are you familiar with the tongue and nose method?” Terri looked at him puzzled. “Just lay back”

Tim began to lick Terri’s ass while fucking her with his nose. Terri seemed to be cumming back to back as she went in and out of consciousness. Tim picked her up and carried her to his bedroom. He laid her on her stomach spreading her now limp legs. Without putting his weight on her he entered her from behind. He couldn’t believe how good Terri felt wrapped around him. He stroked her slowly pulling himself almost completely out of her. Her body began to respond. She began to meet his slow thrust with her own movements.

“Baby, I have never felt this good in my life. Pleezzz don’t stop. Don’t ever stop. Hummm,” she moaned.

Tim sexed her off and on all night. It seemed like every time he climbed out of her, his body became thirsty for her touch again and again.

  Chapter 11

  Working Overtime

It was 5:30 a.m. Sunday when Q grabbed his keys off the hotel nightstand. Asia was snoring lightly. There was no use trying to sneak out so he nudged her shoulder.

  “Wake up ma, wake up.”

“Humm, what time is it Q?”

“It’s 5:30 am. We already discussed what time I was leaving.”

“Yeah I know Boo, but can I at least have a kiss?”

“Ain’t no question shawty, come ‘ere.” Q massaged Asia’s breast with both hands teasing her.

“Baby, what if I were to ever ask you to stop dancing?” he asked, not knowing where the question came from.

“Boo I’ll do anything you ask, just don’t stop massaging me?” She said now moaning.

“I’m serious shawty, have you ever thought about quitting?”

Opening her eyes she looks at him, “Q, I’ve already stopped dancing. I quit over two months ago. The only time I’m with the girls is when we come to The Club. I’ve been meaning to tell you but I didn’t want you to think I had quit because I... hummm.” Q had taken one of her firm breast in his mouth. Talking to her while sucking her breast sent tingling vibrations down her spine.

“Now tell me why you really quit?” He said reaching under the covers, rubbing her swollen clit. She spread her legs giving him easy access.

  “Baby I...I...”

“Tell me Asia,” he said easing his way down to her navel. She moaned his name one last time before collapsing back on the bed.

“'Cause I’m in love with you baby. I love you.”

“That’s all I wanted to hear.” Q said jokingly. “We are gonna have to finish this another time. You know I got love for you too right?”

  “Yea baby I know.”

  “I will call you later.”

Q arrived at Tee’s townhouse just before 6:00 a.m. Still dark he thought to himself. Maybe Tee’s fallen asleep putting his phone on vibrate he slowly turned the key. He made it inside quietly but it didn’t make a difference. Tee was laying on the couch in one of those sexy tank tops. She looked like a giant black Barbie doll. Going to the shower he tried not to wake her. He stepped in the shower and instantly began to feel energized. The water was soothing his skin. He closed his eyes and relaxed for the next half hour. After drying off he walked back into the den. Tee was still asleep. Q walked around to the front of the couch and knelt down in front of her. He bent over and kissed her toes lightly, then her ankles. When he got to her calves he had her attention.

“Baby when did you get here?” She said never opening her eyes.

“About an hour ago,” he said now licking up between her thighs.

“Humm, you smell good ma.” Tee couldn’t respond. She had already done a lock-out with her hips, so Q knew she was already in her first stages of climaxing. He raised her legs and held them up so she could concentrate on giving him all her juices. He now had her whole clit in his mouth sucking on it. Tee held his head with both hands and began grinding her hips hard.

“I’m gonna cumm, I ... I... Oh Q, I love you baby. I love you!!!” It was a good thing Q had a mean tongue game. It came in handy when he had to please multiple women on the same night.

Q took Tee and faced her toward the back of the couch. She could barely stay on her knees. He slowly entered her from behind. It had been awhile since Q had made love to Tee and he could tell. She was already out of gas, which was good for him. His dick was hurting from all the sex with Asia at the hotel.

“Baby are you okay?” He asked.

“I’m fine Q. It’s just been a while since you took care of Peaches.”

  “Oh yeah.”

  “Yeah.”

“Well bring Peaches here ma,” he said grabbing her hips easing himself all the way inside her. He grabbed onto the back of the couch and began pushing inside her. Tee came and came as Q kept the hump in his back for nearly an hour. When he finally let go she almost went into shock from the sensations his juices sent through her body. They stayed on the couch the rest of the morning until the sunlight through the blinds woke them.

  Chapter 12

  Sacrifices

The holidays were almost over. The Crew was once again back in the saddle. The only drama that had jumped off was the discovery of Dirk’s body in a dumpster outside the ‘Boro’. The news was not shocking to The Crew. They had received several messages from his peoples saying he knew nothing of the stick-up. H
e sent his own mother to Kiki’s house to tell her he had nothing to do with it. He had done everything to clear his name. Every Crew member knew Dirk wasn’t lying. He would have never sacrificed his mother by sending her to what he knew was a killing ground. She came only because of a mother’s love for her son, not caring about the dangers. The sad part is that by the time The Crew got the message Dirk was already dead. Q was at home when he got the call from June about Dirk’s murder.

“Sit tight June. I’m on my way through.”

“Aiight homie, check the grill if I’m not on the set.”

Van was in her study on the computer. “Baby I’m going to meet June down on The Block. Do you wanna come?” he asked her.

“Yes Baby that will save me an extra trip downtown.”

“Van I know how your trips downtown are. We’ll end up spending all day in one store ma.”

“It won’t take long to pay a couple bills,” she said going into the bedroom to get dressed. The temperature was close to 65 degrees outside. It was a beautiful day.

“Grab your leather coat ma,” Q yelled heading out to the garage.

“What? What do I need my leather co...” The sounds of Q’s bike drowned her words. When Van stepped out the house she had on some tight jeans, Timberland boots, and her leather coat.

Q winked at her.” So you ready to ride Bonnie?”

“Yea Clyde, she said climbing on behind him.

Van loved riding behind him, especially on long trips like to the beach. She would tease him by slipping her hand inside his pants massaging his manhood until he began to weave. When they arrived uptown Q and June stood in front of the Grill and talked. He could see Van across the street talking with someone she went to school with.

“Has anybody gone by to see if Mrs. Watson needs anything, June?”

“Nah Q, not yet, but the crew had planned on paying their respects soon. We thought we would give the family time to get situated with all the arrangements. Dirk was a soldier.”

“Yea you right June, he was. I would be willing to bet my life on it Dirk stayed true to the end. It’s fucked up the police are already claiming it was a drug deal gone bad.”

Q and June both knew who the killers were. They had murdered Dirk thinking he would talk. Dirk and Cam were the only ones who could link them to Umar’s murder. With them out of the way they would be in the clear. Maybe with the police, but in Q’s eye’s they were living on borrowed time.

“Yo, me and Van are going to go head and swing by there.” “Aiight fam we holla at you later.”

When Q and Van arrived at Dirk’s mother’s house friends and family were everywhere. Van was kind of tensed up from all the staring. “It’s Ok ma,” he said rubbing her neck. “They all good peoples. They just lost one of their family members for nothing. I can feel their pain.” They entered the house and found Mrs. Watson alone in her living room.

“Come on in son,” She said. “You and the lil’ lady have a seat.” She held a baby picture of Dirk in her hands. “He was a good boy,” she said with tears now flowing.

“I begged Dee everyday to get out those streets. He tried so hard to get his life on the right track, but the streets always seemed to win. That boy Cam was nothing but trouble, son. Dirk never knew anything about what happened to that poor child Umar. I had to threaten him several times not to leave and come straight to Umar’s family and get this mess straight. I know when someone loses a loved one sometimes they react before thinking.”

Q spoke, “Mrs. Watson, we know Dirk didn’t have anything to do with Umar’s death. Cam put a bad name on him. Mrs. Watson, do they have any suspects?”

“No-son, but I’m a wise old lady now. I’ve been blessed with plenty of wisdom,” she said now standing. “The streets have been talking for years. I asked God to send me the answers I’m looking for with my son’s death. I begged him not to let his life be taken in vain. As soon as I got off my knees you walked in, so now you can tell me who killed my son.”

Q stood there speechless. He was never very good when it came to his elders. He could never understand how they always knew something before you told them.

“Mrs. Watson,” It was Van speaking, “we have a pretty good idea who was behind Dirk’s death. But it’s just our own theory, and we don’t deal with cops.”

“I understand my child. There’s too many problems with the police. Besides, I believe in an eye for an eye. Whoever killed him deserves nothing less than Dirk got. I’m not gonna come out and ask you to do anything to jeopardize your lives. But I ask only one favor. If by chance you happen to run into who did this to my baby, tell them to give my son this message: Mama sends her love.” With that she broke down crying in Q’s arms.

After leaving Dirk’s house Q and Van made a few stops downtown. They sat in one of their favorite eating spots, the Peking-Wok Chinese Restaurant. Q stared across the table at Van. He thought why am I so blessed to have her? She could have any man she wants, but she chose me. But why? I don’t deserve something so special. He spoke to her. “Baby Girl, thanks for saving me at Dirk’s moms. I…I…”

Van cut him off, “Q, when someone requests something from you they’re requesting it from me too. We’re one, remember?”

She smiled then said, “'I doesn’t come before 'we' with us. Whichever way you decide to handle this situation, handle it with an iron hand. I’m behind you 100%. Now stop staring at me and eat,” she said handing him an egg roll.

  Chapter 13

The Game Keeps Pulling Me Back

Terri and Tim’s relationship had become special to both of them. They spent all the extra time they could together. Tim’s relationship with Jazzy had been mostly a friendship type thing anyway. Q always felt he should have married her, but Tim always knew every time he mentioned it he was only feeling his guilt for not already marrying Van.

“What’s the matter ma? You’ve been quiet all day.”

Truth was Terri had been acting depressed the last few days.

“Come on, talk to me Terri. What is it?”

“It’s my son Tim. I haven’t seen him in almost four weeks now. I have to do something before Tex does something stupid.”

  “Aiight ma, get your coat.”

  “What?”

“Get your coat ma; we have to pick up your son.”

Tim and Terri left without calling any of The Crew. Terri did call Tee at the shop to let her know she would be late coming in. “Hi Tee.”

“Hey stranger. I haven’t heard from you since you left work Thursday. Your clients have been calling everyday worrying about you.”

“It’s only been three days. I’ll be a little late today, but I should make it before twelve.”

“Okay, since you’re the boss now Miss Thang, I’ll make your appointments after twelve,” said Tee sounding sarcastic.

“Don’t say it like that Tee; you know I don’t mean it like that.”

“Just messin’ wit’ you gurl. Now hurry up and get here before I decide to fire you.”

“Aiight gurl, as soon as I drop Lil Ty off at the day care.”

“What, you have Lil’ Ty”, she said sounding excited. “Bring him with you. My appointments will be finished for the day. I will...”

“Wait a minute Tee. I don’t have him yet. I’m on my way to pick him up.”

“Terri look, don’t go there alone. It’s too dangerous.”

“I’m not alone Tee. Tim’s with me.”

“Don’t you-think you should’ve let someone know before you just took off like that?”

“Yeah, you’re right Tee, but Tim insisted on not calling any of The Crew.”

“Aiight, but if I don’t hear from you in one hour I’m calling Q and June.”

“Okay, but we should be back sooner than that.”

  “Aiight, be safe.”

The ride to Wadesboro went smoothly. They made it safely to Tex’s mother house. Lil’ Ty was thrilled to see his mother. Mrs. Johnson was visibly shaken by som
ething. She rushed to pack Lil’ Ty”s night bag while trying to button his jacket up all at once. Terri spoke to her, “Is everything okay Mrs. Johnson?”

“Yes my child, but...” Tim cut her off.”

“But your son’s on the way over huh?”

“Yes and he’s ...” Tim dashed for the door to retrieve his gun. The door closed behind him.

Terri spoke again to Mrs. Johnson, “Mrs. Johnson, why didn’t you tell me this on the phone?”

Mrs. Johnson spoke through tears and a lot of shame, “Because my only son had a pistol to my head. He said he would kill me and my grand-baby if I said anything.”

Terri got up to call the police. A long volley of shots rang outside in front of the house.

“Tim!” Terri screamed running for the front door. Outside she saw Tex and Da Da standing over Tim’s body. They each shot him one more time in his back as he lay lifelessly on the ground.

“No ... No... Nooooo.” Terri screamed running towards Tim.

Tex raised his gun and fired. Click. Click. Click. He had run out of bullets.

“Come on Tex? Five-0 will be here in a minute,” Da Da screamed.

“Aiight nigga let me load this motha-fu...” Tex cut short his words as he heard the loud blasting of sirens.

  “Tex let’s bounce man.”

Mrs. Johnson had called 911. When they arrived paramedics had to pry Terri away from Tim. Her clothes were soaked with blood. After expecting a D.O.A., they miraculously found a small pulse in Tim’s body. They rushed him to Wadesboro Medical where he was later transferred to Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital.

Terri was right by his side talking to her Baby. “Tim, stay here with me Boo? Don’t leave me here all alone. I can’t make it without you.”

“Keep talking to him young lady,” said the paramedic.

Tim had lost so much blood it would be a miracle for him to survive. Lil’ Ty was taken from his grandmother’s house as instructed by Terri. The police were to take him straight to Honey’s Beauty Salon to a Tashonda Davis.
