A Mate for the Dragon Girl: A Valentine's Day Dragon-Shifter Romance

by Cara Wylde

  “Yes,” he said.

One word, loud and clear. That was all Astrid needed to hear. She pulled him in and attached her mouth to his. They pushed and pulled, and moved fluidly together in a dance that neither of them wanted to end. They landed on the bed, and, this time, she was on top of him, taking full control.

James encouraged her to rock against him, and she obeyed without a fight, feeling the growing sensation between her legs as she moved up and down his length. She let out moans as she ground her hips harder and faster, just short of pushing him inside her. They were nearly there, and if she kept it up too much longer, it would all end too soon. His hands on her breasts, pulling and twisting her nipples, drew her closer to release. She found a perfect way to move so that the head of his cock hit her clit every time, and she couldn’t hold back any longer. Yes, she wanted him inside her pussy, but she also wanted the mind-blowing orgasm that was beginning to sizzle just where the tip of his cock came in contact with her sensitive, swollen nub.

James let out a string of profanities as she pressed him into the bed, her hands on his chest for better leverage. He was close himself, but he didn’t want to finish just yet. He focused on fighting his own climax as she rode hers, a long, breathy moan escaping her lips.

“God, you’re beautiful,” he whispered, holding her tightly as she slowed down.

She opened her eyes and looked at him. A sheen of sweat covered his neck and chest, and she could tell all he wanted was to come.

“Are you ready?” she asked breathlessly.

“I’ve been ready since the moment I saw you.”

Astrid nodded and used her right hand to position his cock at her entrance. She raised her hips to put on a show for him as she lowered down.

James watched with hungry eyes as his entire shaft disappeared inside her. She was tight and wet, and she immediately started bouncing on top of him, her shifter speed and strength obvious in her sharp, clean movements. The women he had slept with before her had never had the stamina to ride him for more than a couple of minutes. But why was he thinking about them? There was no term of comparison between them and the beautiful goddess straddling his hips.

As she felt herself getting closer to her second orgasm, Astrid leaned forward to bring her mouth to the left side of his neck. It was the first time in her life when she was biting someone truly and deeply, so her shifter venom could enter his veins. There was something sinful and forbidden about this new, intense sensation. As her venom ran down her now slightly pointed teeth, she moaned and shook, unable to move when her release hit her.

James took the lead and thrust upwards as he came inside her, his seed coating her throbbing pussy. He let out a long, loud moan, and hugged her closer to his chest, his hand going to the back of her neck to press her fangs harder inside his flesh. It did hurt, but not unpleasantly. It might have been because he wanted this so badly.

Astrid waited so that a fair amount of venom would enter his system, then stood up slowly, her eyes opening to inspect the wound. She soothed the bite with careful strokes of her tongue until he wasn’t bleeding anymore. Now, they had two options: if she gave him some of her own blood, he would turn into a dragon-shifter and his wound would heal immediately and completely; if they waited and he took the cure for her venom, he would turn into a hybrid. Of course, they had already agreed on the latter.

She lifted her hips and let his cock slip out of her, then lay on her side. James took her into his arms, and they lay like that for a few minutes, both trying to catch their breath. His eyes were fixed on the ceiling as he focused on what her venom was already doing to him. He could swear he could see the small details of his room better, and hear the neighbors in the apartment above more clearly. His senses would sharpen even more once he took the antidote and became a hybrid.

“How does it feel?” Astrid asked while tracing her fingers up and down his chest.

“I’m not even going to try and play it cool,” he laughed. “I feel... it’s going to sound so weird, but I feel alive.”

  “Alive?”

“Yeah. Is this how you feel all the time?”

“Well, I’m alive all the time so…”

He cut her off by grabbing her and tickling her sides. She laughed and tried to defend herself.

“You know what I mean. It’s like my blood is pumping faster. I can hear and see everything around me in so much more detail.”

She cocked an eyebrow. “Of course that would happen. Shouldn’t you know this after so many years of studying shifters?”

“It’s one thing to read and write about it, and another to actually feel it. It’s incredible! Maybe I should document the whole experience.”

  “You’re such a nerd.”

“Science is all about writing it down before it gets lost.”

Astrid didn’t let him leave the bed, though. They stayed like that for a while, waiting for James’s adrenaline to run its course. It would taper off, eventually, despite how excited he was. When she wasn’t paying attention, he did get up to find his notebook and write down what he was feeling. She laughed and thought how his gesture was making her fall even deeper for him. She watched him scribble, and tried not to think about how silly he looked. Naked and so concentrated on his notes… He was muttering to himself, too, and would occasionally stop to do calculations in his head before writing them down as well.

“Are you ever not thinking, calculating, and analyzing stuff?” she asked.

“Never. I only pretend to take a break when I think girls get bored.”

“I don’t get bored,” she thought in a slight burst of jealousy. They were both adults, they both had a history. It was irrational to think she was the first person he had fallen in love with, especially since he was far from being a first for her. She chased the stupid, dark thoughts away and decided she’d never indulge them. She had just bitten him, and he was going to become a hybrid and her mate soon.

Astrid got up and got dressed while he scribbled away. They’d have to get the antidote from the lab.

“We need to go,” she whispered into his ear when she was ready.

“Yes, dear. Err… wait. Go where?”

“To the lab? To get your cure?”

James laughed and stood up. He looked for the pants he had discarded on the floor and rummaged through the pockets when he found them. He pulled out a small phial that contained a clear liquid, and dangled it in front of her eyes.

“What we need is right here.”

Astrid punched him lightly in the shoulder.

James looked at the spot she had punched, and cocked an eyebrow.

“Huh. I’m not exactly sure I even felt that.”

“Well, welcome to my world!” She pointed at the phial. “You sneaky, you… You came prepared!”

He shrugged. “Of course I came prepared. I know what I want, baby.”

She smiled. “What do you want?”

  “You. I want you.”

He drew her in for a long, lingering kiss.

“I love you,” he whispered against her lips.

  “I love you, too.”

Astrid looked at him like he was the only man in the world. He was, to her. He was the only man in the world she wanted to spend her entire life with.

James smiled sheepishly and took a step back. He unscrewed the cap and lifted the phial in the air before drinking its contents in a quick sip.

  “Cheers!”

The peace treaty between humans and shape-shifters was signed over a century ago. One of the clauses says that humans must provide shifters with young brides to give them heirs and ensure the perpetuation of their species. Today, all over the world, special boarding schools take girls from orphanages and give them the most exquisite education, preparing them to become brides for the enemy. If a bride reaches the age of 25 and no shifter wants to buy her, then she is given two options: serve in a shifter brothel, or starve on the streets. Society would never accept a bride who failed to accomplish her duties.

Sold to the Alpha – Avelyn is determined to regain her freedom and never marry a shape-shifter. When Alpha wolf Max Blackmane buys her, she uses all the tricks she can come up with to escape. Before she knows it, she falls in love with him. But Max has dark things in his past, dark things he keeps hidden in the dungeons under his castle.

The Hidden Alpha – Amelia has always wanted to marry a wealthy shifter and live a simple, normal life. She is bought by Seth, the Beta of Clan Sylfur, for his fox-shifter Alpha, Blake Sylfur. But her husband ignores her, and Amelia falls in love with Seth. Her betrayal might ruin her forever.

Claimed by the Dragons – Delyse has waited for three years for her Alpha, ancient dragon Eric Drekinn to wake up from his hibernation and claim her. When she finally meets her husband, she’s already in love with his Beta, Viggo. What she doesn’t expect is for the two dragons to agree to share.

Taming the Alpha – Claudia is worried that no shifter will ever want to buy her, and when Karl Blackmane shows up, she wonders if he bought her just because her friend, Avelyn, insisted. All she wants is to make Karl happy, but his dark, twisted past threatens to ruin their marriage.
