Love Goes On

“I couldn’t have guessed.” I joked.
He walked over to me. “Tell me what happened.” He peered into my eyes seeing I was upset.
“I just got off the phone with my mom and she said they’re not going on their trip because my dad recently went to the doctor and was told to take it easy for a week.”
“So we fixed the room for nothing?” he asked angrily.
“We didn’t fix the room for nothing. My mom explained that they’ll be going out this summer which will call for overnight visits.”
Kaden kissed my forehead. “I’m sorry if I was rude, but I would have been upset to know I spent all this money and time to put a room together for Riley if she was not going to use it.”
“Now I know how my mom felt when I was rude to her.”
Kaden hugged and kissed me. “I’m sure she won’t hold it over your head.”
“She already forgave me.” I hugged him back liking the comfort I got from him when he held me. It was like I never wanted to let go. “I love you, Kaden,” I confessed.
“I love you too.” I kept hold of him not realizing it when he chuckled. “You’ll have to eventually let me go.”
“There’s no reason for me to. I want to hold you forever.”
“I would love for you and I to hold each other forever, but I have to confess that soon enough my legs will fall asleep and like a lightning bolt before our eyes we’ll both be falling to the ground; rolling around like we’re on fire, holding to our legs because they’ll be painfully tingling.”
I giggled as we kissed. Then I let him get back to finishing Riley’s room.
“What are we doing tonight since school is out for the summer?” I asked.
“I have been thinking about that all day and I decided we should go out on our first summer date,” Kaden grinned excitedly.
I looked at him eagerly. “That sounds like a great idea!” I smiled.
Excited for our date; I ran off to prepare. I wore a short blue multi colored one shoulder ruched dress paired with open toed silver metallic heels. I curled my hair and put it up into a ponytail, applied my make-up. As I walked toward the door I was searching in my purse for my glossy lip balm. Not paying attention to where I was going I bumped right into Kaden.
Kaden turned around and chuckled. “Watch where you’re going much?”
I looked up at Kaden to apologize, but I got sidetracked at how stunningly handsome he was. “I have to admit that if I were to break the promise we made about not having sex again until I’m of age; tonight would be that night.”
He grinned. “I admire your desire for me, but I envy you for looking sexier than me.” He winked as he opened the door.
I blushed as we stepped out of the house. Kaden didn’t tell me where we were going so when we stopped at the roller rink I became excited.
As we walked toward the building I noticed there were no cars in the parking lot. “Kaden, are we allowed to be here? I’m feeling like we’re walking into a murderous plot.”
He chuckled. “Tonight we have the place to ourselves,” he winked at me.
After we put on our roller blades we hopped onto the rink and danced to energetic music! When I’m with Kaden I feel like I’m on top of the world. He makes me his main priority and never has me doubt his love for me.
“I had an awesome time with you last night,” Kaden inquired as we stepped out of bed.
“I have to say you steal my heart time and time again,” I smiled sweetly as I stepped into the bathroom to brush my wild hair.
He followed me. “We’re going to have to do that more often.”
“I think roller blading brings out the sex drive in me.”
We busted out laughing. “Oh, Sara, you are one of a kind.”
“Aren’t I supposed to be?
“You would be a stranger to me if you weren’t.” We kissed.
After we were prepared for the day I cooked breakfast. As we ate I stole glances of Kaden when he wasn’t looking and I’m pretty sure he was stealing glances of me too. I found this was true when Kaden and I met eyes.
“You don’t know what you do to my mind, body and soul,” Kaden said.
“Why don’t you tell me?” I grinned.
“You make my mind run wild with your beauty; you make my body burn with desire, and you lift my soul with your never dieing love.” He spoke almost in a whisper.
I smiled so widely I thought my cheeks would have to expand to make more room.
We stood up across from each other and stared at each other as if we were two lions ready to attack each other, but instead we were on the verge of breaking our promise to each other.
Kaden strides over to me and pushed the dishes off the table. They hit the floor with a loud clatter, but I didn’t jolt. I was fixated on Kaden. He sat me on the table; he began kissing my neck and softly caressing my body. I felt the need to let it happen, but I felt a stronger need to stop it.
I pushed Kaden away from me. “We can’t. I want to do this with you more than anything, but I can’t do it right now,” I explained as I hopped off of the table.
He sighed as he smiled, seeming disappointed. “I’m sorry I let myself get carried away,” Kaden apologized.
“It’s not all your fault.” I smiled.
I glanced at the broken dishes scattered over the floor.
“Sara, why did you do this?” Kaden joked.
“I was just so angry, you know. And these unsightly dishes were the closest to me to take my anger out on so I took them down!” I continued the joke.
He chuckled. “It’s too bad you took them down before me. I was planning on smashing them to smithereens over something that might have made me mad.”
“Well, I guess you’ll have to find your own dishes to smash because these were mine.” I giggled.
“I guess since you made this mess, you get to clean it up.”
I shook my head negatively. “Nope. You’re cleaning it up.” I handed him the broom and dustpan.
He took it as he smiled. “I always get stuck with the dirty work.”
After we cleaned up the kitchen Kaden and I went outside and sat on the bench.
“I’ve always wanted to go skinny dipping,” I confessed.
“Sara! Why would you think of something like that?” Kaden asked shocked.
I giggled. “What? I thought it would be fun!” I replied.
“Why don’t we think about that when it’s more appropriate, like our honeymoon?”
“Fine. What are your plans for today?”
“I have errands to do for my dad and other things to take care of. What are you doing?”
“I think I will start reading the House Of Night Series.”
“Didn’t you already read that series awhile back?”
“I have, but I like the series so much I thought I’d read it again.”
“Why don’t you read a different book or series?”
“Because I’ve already made my mind up and I’m sticking to it!”
“Okay, then. I’m going to start running the errands for my dad.”
“I want to sit out here with the pugs and read. Can you bring me my Ipad touch?”
“Sure,” he left. Then he came back a few minutes later with my Ipad. He kissed me. “I’ll be back in a couple of hours. I love you. Enjoy reading,” he said as he walked away
“I will and I love you too.” He walked out of sight.
I turned on my Ipad and found the first book to the series and started reading.
After a couple of hours Kaden returned. Then I started cooking dinner.
“Did you enjoy reading?” Kaden asked.
“I did, I really love The House Of Night Series. It’s really interesting,” I said
.
“I would imagine it is since you’ve read it once already. If the series is that good I think I should read it too.”
“You can read them when I’m through with them.”
“Who said I want to use your Ipad? I’ll get my own.” He joked.
I huffed. “Well that’s fine by me. Now I don’t have to share my Ipad.”
“Good because I didn’t want to use your Ipad anyways!” Kaden joked.
I giggled. “You better watch yourself! Instead of breaking dishes I’ll be throwing food at you.” I continued the joke.
“What kind of food?”
Corn, meatloaf, mashed potatoes and corn bread.”
“Leave out the corn. It would hurt if it hit my eyes.”
“Good. It would teach you a lesson.”
He chuckled. “I’m glad you can cook.”
“I’m glad too. I have my mother to thank for teaching me.”
“If you couldn’t cook, do you imagine what I would be eating?”
“Burnt food.” We busted out laughing just thinking what it would look like. “I would feel bad for you if I cooked like that.”
“I wouldn’t eat it. I’d teach you a lesson and make you eat it.”
I huffed. “You will not make me eat anything!
“Well, I’m sure not going to eat burnt food and we don’t want to waste it so you’ll have to eat it.”
“I wouldn’t eat it. I’d throw it at you for trying to make me eat it.”
“I would throw it at you too for serving it to me.” We laughed.
After a while the food was cooked and we sat down to eat.
“This is really good, Sara,” Kaden complemented.
“I should be awarded for my wonderful cooking!” I exclaimed.
“I have the perfect idea to go about that!” He smiled his sexy smile at me and I remembered back to the day when we first met at the track field. His smile melted my heart and his accent made me want to kiss him.
“I remember when we first met.”
“I do too. It was unforgettable! I think about it every time I look at you.”
I smiled. “I do too.” He leaned over and kissed me.
After we finished eating we took the pugs and went back outside. Kaden laid a blanket on the ground for us to lie on. It was too nice outside to be stuck inside.
“I still can’t believe you picked me to date,” Kaden said.
“You were too handsome to pass up,” I replied as I winked at him.
“I knew you were weighing your options between Rick and me.”
“I was, until Anna told me she liked Rick so I went for you. Anna and Rick are meant for each other as well as you and me.”
“What if Anna didn’t like Rick, but liked me instead. What would you have done?”
“I would have dated Rick, but I would have become jealous over you and Anna and took you from her.”
“Okay, but lets say that once you started dating Rick, you wouldn’t look twice at me.”
“That would be impossible to not pay attention to you because your sexiness will attract anything in your path.”
“That’s good to know.”
“Why are you asking me such a silly question? You’re with me now.”
“I just wanted to see what your response would be.”
“Well, now you’ve got it. Don’t ask me such a silly question ever again.”
“Okay, Baby.” We kissed.
He laid back and I rested my head on his chest as we wasted away the afternoon talking about anything and everything.
Today was Saturday. I was going over to my parent’s house today to walk with my mom and Riley at the park.
Kaden walked me to my car. “I hope you have a good time today,” Kaden enthused.
“I will. What will you be doing while I’m gone?”
“I have some errands to run and people to call.”
“Okay, I’ll see you in a couple of hours and if not I will be back to cook dinner.”
“Have a good time. I love you,” he said as I stepped into my car. I rolled my window down so we could kiss.
“I love you too.” I began to drive away when I heard my name. I came to a screeching halt.
Kaden ran to my car. “Do you want to take the pugs with you?”
“That’s a good idea.”
“Okay, I’ll be right back.” He ran toward the house and a couple of minutes later he came out carrying the pugs and two leashes. I rolled down the passenger window and he sat the pugs on the seat. Then came over to my window and handed me the leashes. I placed the leashes in the console. “I’ll see you later. Drive safely.”
“I will.”
When I arrived at my parent’s house I rolled down the windows some for the pugs. Then I headed into my mom’s house. She hugged me as soon as she opened the door.
“Hi, Mom!” I greeted her as I saw Riley running out of the living room. “Hi, Riley.”
“Hi,” Riley greeted me then she went back into the living room.
I followed mom into the kitchen and we sat at the table. “I brought the pugs with me, they’re in the car.”
“They’ll have fun at the park!”
“Has Riley been any more than the one time you went?”
“No, I hadn’t had a chance to go because I’m studying for my college degree. I’m also watching Riley and taking your father to the doctor.”
“Oh. Well, the day is wasting away. I’m ready to go!”
“Okay, I’ll get my stuff together as you put the pugs in my car.”
“Alright.”
Once we arrived at the park my mom put Riley in her stroller and I hooked the pugs on separate leashes then we started walking.
“So how are you and Kaden doing?”
“We’re doing well,” I replied.
“That’s it? No explanation of what you two have been up to?”
I laughed. “We went on a date to the roller rink Thursday night.”
“Was it fun?”
“It was a blast! We had the whole place to ourselves.”
“That must have been nice.”
“It sure was. We didn’t get back home until three in the morning.”
“Wow! You two must have had fun!” Mom laughed.
I smiled. “It was a perfect first date to start out the summer.”
“Have you two been up to anything else?”
“I’ve just been planning the wedding and the cabins are still being built.”
“Well, enough of me. What have you, Dad and Riley been up to?”
“Nothing except what I told you at the house.”
“Lets go over here to this playground and let Riley play with the pugs.”
We strolled over to the playground. After I unhooked the pugs and Mom let
Riley down to play we sat down at a picnic table facing each other.
“Sara, your Dad and I are moving.”
I stared at her shocked. “Why are you guys moving?”
“Sara, I want to open my business up in Rome.”
“But, why would you guys want to do that?”
“Well, your dad and I have been talking and Rome is a wonderful country. We thought it would be a great place to have my business.”
“If you guys are doing this to make my transition from Coopersville to Rome easier on me then don’t move there.”
Mom and I got up and played with Riley and the pugs for a couple of hours. All the while the thoughts of moving went through my head.
Around five we left and went back to my parent’s house. I said good-bye to Mom and
Riley then I placed the pugs in my car and drove home.
&
nbsp; When I arrived home Kaden greeted me; I went straight into the kitchen to prepare dinner without greeting Kaden back. Something fishy was in the air with my parents wanting to move to Rome and I had a gut feeling Kaden put them up to it.
“So did you have a good time?” Kaden asked as
I sighed. “Sort of,” I replied.
“What went wrong?”
“My mom and Dad want to move to Rome.”
“That’s good news!”
“No, it’s horrible news!”
“I thought that would make you happy?”
“I don’t want them to move there! They have a life established here!”
Kaden didn’t say anything. He just stared at me. After dinner we laid in bed in silence.
“Sara, I’m trying to be patient with you and trying to understand the reason why you are so nervous about moving to Rome. I asked your parents to move to Rome too so you would not have so much of an issue moving.”
I sat upright in bed. “I had a feeling you asked them!” I said angrily.
“I did it thinking it would be easier on you.”
“Kaden, I am having a hard enough time with this moving issue and now you’ve made it worse by dragging my parents into this!”
“I was only trying to do what’s best for you.”
“What would be best for me is if you’d stop dragging people I love into this.”
“It’s my mistake. Now I know never to try and help you again.”
“Why don’t you learn to ask me for my opinion before making a choice that involves me?” I lay in bed facing the opposite direction from Kaden; angry at him for just assuming I’d go along with this.

Rome
Kaden and I awoke early Monday morning for our flight to Rome. I was moving like a sloth because I don’t like to get up so early in the morning. Kaden was wild with excitement! But I just sat on the bed like a lump on a log.
“Come on sleepy head! Pick up some speed; we have to be leaving in an hour and you haven’t finished packing,” Kaden said.
I sighed as I sat on the bed. “It’s six-thirty in the morning which means I should still be sleeping,” I droned.
