The Arabic word “sitran” in verse 90 of Surat al-Kahf means “cover, shelter, curtain or screen.” The term "lam najAAal lahum min dooniha sitran" describes an environment devoid of any shelter or protection against the Sun. In the light of presentday knowledge, this is suggestive of the ozone layer that protects living things against harmful solar rays.
The area where the ozone layer around the Earth is thinnest, where it protects least against solar radiation, is the poles.1 Scientific research has established a severe thinning of the ozone layer at the North Pole at the moment the Sun rises 2 and this scientific discovery has been described as Sunrise Ozone Destruction (SOD) 3. …..
The Arabic word “matlia” in this verse, meaning the “rising place” of the Sun, may well be a reference to this scientific discovery about the ozone layer.

My answer First, we need to find out what “ Dhū’l-Qarnayn” means. It is not a name. It is a description which means “the man with two horns.” I believe from my own study that the person who created most of the Qur’an who is Waraqa Ibn Naofal, took that description and used it as if it were a name of a man from the Bible. And he mixed the story with the Syriac Alexander Legend, which is an Egyptian story about the son of their god Ra (the sun god).
However, the Bible spoke about a king with two horns in the following verses: Daniel 8:15-22 - KJV
“15And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
16 And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said, unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
17 So he came near where I stood: and when he 18 Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.
19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.
20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.
21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. 22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.”
Notice in here that Islam based itself on Daniel’s verses. To give more explanation, we recognize in the book of Daniel that he spoke about the vision which was explained by the angel Gabriel. We see that Muhammad adopted Daniel’s version of events although Muhammad ran to his wife, scared and terrified, because of his intervention with the Jibrel (the Muslim angel Gabriel).
Sahih Al-Bukhari (Book 1, Hadith 3)
“The angel came to him and asked him to read. The messanger replied, "what shall I read?”. The Prophet added, "The angel caught me and squeezed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. Then He released me and again asked me to read and I replied, "what shall I read?” Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a again till I could not handle it any more. Then He released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, “what shall I read?' Thereupon he caught me for the third time and squeezed me, and then released me and said, 'Read in the name of your Lord, who has created (all that exists) has created man from a clot. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous." (96.1, 96.2, 96.3) ”
25Muhammad's copying Isaiah 40:5-6:
As we well know, Islam was explained to Muhammad by Jibrel. Muhammad did the same thing with a story taken from the book of Isaiah 40:5-6:
5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
6The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
We did explain this inside Volume 1 of The Deception of Allah. He also used the phrase “the man with the two horns” to describe Alexander the Great, as he thought Daniel’s prophecy was speaking about Alexander the Great who is called Dhū’lQarnayn, “the man with the two horns.”
But for sure that is a wrong understanding of the Bible because the verses spoke about the end times: Daniel 8:17 - KJV
(…) but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
The reason I provided you with verses is to inform you, the reader, and make you understand what these verses are about. Mr. Harun, as always, just posts verses and makes stories about them without telling you what the verses are about nor what the background of the story is.
WHO IS DHŪ’L-QARNAYN? Many Muslims later on found out that it would be bad for Islam to accept that this story is about this king, so they now deny that Dhū’l-Qarnayn is Alexander the Great. This is because the whole world studied the history of this man who was a pagan and also happened to be a bisexual. So it wouldn’t make sense that the god of Islam have chosen this man to do Jihad, to convert people to Islam and to punish those who didn’t.
I will bring you proof in the coming reference, which is called an “authentic” or a “correct” reference, approved by all Muslims.
Tafsir Al-Jalalayn, Qur’an 18:83 “And they, the Jews, interrogate you concerning Dhū’l-Qarnayn, whose name was Alexander”
Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Vol. 5, p. 189, print year 2002)
A group of the Jewish came to the prophet questioning him about Dhū’l-Qarnayn therefore, he said,: “he was a young man from the Romans and he built the city of Alexandria.”
And in the book of Al Jame' Le A'hkam, Al Qur’an, by Imam Al-Qur’tubi, Beirut, 1992, Vol. 10, P. 420: from the narration of 'U'qba bin 'Amer that the prophet may Allah pray on him and salute him said, "to men from the people of the book whom they asked him about Dhū’l-Qarnayn, he said, "he was a youth of the Roman then he became the King he marched the arrived to the land of Egypt and he established a city which is called Alexandria, when he is done from it an Angel came to him, raised him up to sky and he told him look down, Dhū’l-Qarnayn said, I see my city only; so the Angel said, to him; this is all the Earth and the black is around it is the sea and it was the wish of Allah to show you the Earth and to make you Sultan on it so march on this Earth and teach the ignorant and strength that you knowledgeable(scientist).

Based on Muhammad’s words above, it's very clear that he considered Alexander the Great as a chosen person and as a messenger of Allah.
1. Allah sent his angel to Alexander the Great.
2. The angel raised Alexander the Great up to heaven.
3. From heaven, Allah made him see all the earth surrounded
by the sea, which again means that Muhammad believes that the earth is flat. It would later explain why the Qur’an says that Alexander the Great found the sun setting in murky water.
4. The angel told him that it was Allah’s wish ("it was the wish of Allah") to give him authority over the earth so he can go a n d teach the ignorant and strengthen them with knowledge.
5. That means that Alexander the Great is the bisexual messenger of Allah to teach us Islam and morality! Let's quote the words of the Qur’an as translated by Mr. Harun. I do not agree with it, but let us accept it to show that even when they give false translations, we can prove our point. Mr. Harun quoted:
“Until he reached the rising of the sun and found it rising on a people to whom We had not given any cover from it. (Surat al-Kahf, 90)”
Read what Mr. Harun said, and I quote:
“The area where the ozone layer around the Earth is thinnest, where it protects least against solar radiation,” The verse says, “we had not given any cover from it.” It does not say thin cover. Allah is sp
eaking about no cover at all; not a thin cover. Do you see how easy it is to blow their falsehood?! This short answer is clear. However, it's better to study this chapter because it perfectly confirms that Islam is based on fairytale stories.
The story gets funnier if we recall that this is about where Alexander the Great went.
Mr. Harun said: "The area where the ozone layer around the Earth is thinnest, where it protects least against solar radiation, is the poles."
According to him, the Qur’an speaks about the poles so let us examine that.
“Until he reached the rising of the sun and found it rising”. Did Alexander the Great ever occupy the North Pole? This is really funny and silly. The fact is that the verse speaks about a very hot location, not cold, and these humans are black African as we see in:
Tafsir Al-Jalalayn, Qur’an 18:90 Until, when he reached the rising of the sun, the place where it rises, he found it rising on a folk, namely, Negro's African, whom Allah had not provided against the sun a shelter, any form of cover, in the way of clothes or roofing, as their land could not support any structures; they had underground tunnels into which they would go away at the rising of the sun and out of which they would come out when it was at its farther point in the sky.
Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Vol. 5, p. 194, print year 2002 (Allah had provided no shelter against the sun.) meaning, they had no buildings or trees to shelter them and shade them from the heat of the sun. 'Qatadah said, "It was spoken of to us that they were in a land where nothing grew, so when the sun rose, they would go into tunnels until it had passed its highest point then they would come out to go about their daily lives and obtain a living.''

Tafsir Ibn 'Abbas, trans. Mokrane Guezzou “(Till, when he reached the rising place of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had appointed no helper therefrom) these people had no shelter to protect them from the sun, they had no mountains, trees or clothes. They were naked creatures who were blind to the Truth.”
Click here If this is indeed the North Pole (Arctic) region, as per Mr. Harun who is the only Muslim in the world with such claim, how then did Alexander find a nation and the sun's rising place? So he’s saying that the sun rises in the North Pole (Arctic) region and then it comes to us?! Also, what nation ever lived there? Muslims, use your brain! If the army of Alexander the Great went to the North Pole (Arctic) region, his army would have been dead long before he could have reached that point.
He established his empire from his homeland Macedonia then went to east going to Syria, Iraq, and Persia (Iran today) and then down south to Egypt and Africa. See this map: http://www.ancientanatolia.com/historical/alexander_great.htm
The only person who lives there, as far as I know, is Santa Claus! Read the words carefully. By reading the verse before, it will be understood better. I will post the verse before it, Qur’an 18:89 with verse 90:
Qur’an 18:89-90 Mohsin Khan’s translation
89 Then he followed another way,
90 Until, when he came to the rising place of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We (Allah) had provided no shelter against the sun.
This means: 1. The only problem is the sun’s heat, therefore it wasn't about the pole. At same time if you live in the pole, you will not suffer from the sun’s heat but from the intense cold because the sun only appears there in a year for just a short time.
2. For the sake of deception, he did not tell us that this discovery of a new change with the atmosphere is a result of what scientists call global warming and not of something that was there from thousands of years ago during the time of Alexander the Great.
3. It was a road he took that ended where the sun rose.
4.He found where the sun rose on people.
5.They have no covering over themselves as shelter like houses.
6.Does this mean that the sun rose from the location where he went?
7.Is that scientific or true? 8. And even Islamic books agreed it’s about Africa and its people which we proved from Al-Jalalayn and Ibn Kathir. In a magical way, Africa became the North Pole to the Muslims!
9 .Let me make my point clearer. I don’t need to go anywhere to find the rising place of the sun, because the sun rises over every inch of this earth. It's so clear that Muhammad was copying the Syriac/Egyptian legends wherein it says that the sun rises from a known location. Notice what the verse states:
“Until he reached the rising of the sun and (found it rising on a people.)”
It's clear that this location is where these humans have no covering. It's a location of: 1. The rising place of the sun.
2.The location of these people is the same place, for they live where the sun rises.
3. It's a clear scientific error of the Qur’an. The Muslims are trying to cover it with falsification and make it sound as if it's a miracle when it's a disaster!
4 .To make my point crystal clear, you will later on see that Muhammad spoke about the sun's setting place. This means there are two different locations: one is from where the sun rises and the other is where the sun sits.
As you have seen in the claim, Muslims try to make a fairytale story a scientific miracle!
This is the reason why I named my book The Deception of Allah.
According to Allah, there's a setting place of the sun. From where does Muhammad get all of his fairytale bedtime stories?
Qur’an 18:90
Until he reached the rising of the sun and found it rising on a people to whom We had not given any cover from it.
26WHERE IS THE SUN'S SETTING PLACE?
The Tale of Alexander the Great
In the Qur’an, he is called Zo el Qarnayn, which means “the man with two horns”.
Qur’an 18:83-86
83 and they ask you (Muhammad) about (Alexander the Great), say, “I will tell you some of it.”
84And We (Allah) made him have control on the earth, and We gave him all kind of power and knowledge over everything.
85In the way he went through,
86Until, when he reached where the setting of the sun, he found it set in a spring of muddy water, near it he found a people: We said, to him “O Zo el Qarnayn (Alexander)! We ask you either to punish them, or to treat them with kindness.”
1. Here we see Allah is telling the story of Alexander therefore, no mistake is accepted. 2. Allah gave himself the knowledge, as the verse stated. Therefore, there is no way that Alexander was thinking wrongly.
3. Allah is telling us that Alexander found the sun setting in muddy water? Remember, it's not Alexander who is saying that, it's Allah. Therefore, we cannot accuse Alexander for being a fool.
4. The proof that this is an actual location is in the verse itself stating near it he found people who live there. Near where? The sun’s setting place.
5. If you remember, Muhammad did help us prove earlier that Allah meant an earthly location. Read with me Muhammad’s fairytale story and you will know what I am talking about. Muhammad said in:
Sahih Muslim, Book 004, Hadith 1275 As long as the sun has not risen yet; but when the sun rises, stop from prayer, because it rises between the horns of the devil.
Where the devil live? He live on the earth as the Qur'an states: Qur'an 55:33 Translation of Muhammad Pickthal “O company of jinn and men, if ye have power to penetrate (all) regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate (them)! Ye will never penetrate them save with (Our) sanction.34 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?35 There will be sent, against you both, heat of fire and flash of brass, and ye will not escape.”
And to make it more clear, go to this verse:
Qur'an 76:5 Trasnlation of Mohsen Khan “And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps , and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to d
rive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the
torment of the blazing Fire.”
Tafsir al-Jalalayn, trans. Feras Hamza “And verily We have adorned the lowest heaven, the one
closest to the earth, with lamps, with stars, and made them missiles against the devils, should they [attempt to] listen by stealth, in which case a meteor of fire detaches itself from the star, just like a brand is taken from a fire, and either kills that jinn or deprives him of his senses: it is not that the star itself is displaced from its position; and We have prepared for them the chastisement of the Blaze, the ignited Fire.”
Tafsir Ibn 'Abbas, trans. Mokrane Guezzou “(And verily We have beatified the world's heaven) the first heaven (with lamps) with stars, (and We have made them)
i.e. the stars (missiles for the devils) such that some of them become bewitched, some are killed while others are burnt, (and for them) for the devils (We have prepared) in the Hereafter the doom of flame.”
1) So what we understand from this is that the devils are locked up between the ground of the earth and the lowest heaven.
2) The devil can't go up to heaven or else Allah will shoot him with a star and kill him. 3) So it says that the sun “rises between the horns of the devil” which is on earth zone. And since the sun rises from the north pole according to Mr. Harun, then does that mean Satan lives in the pole? That would mean Santa Claus & Satan are neighbors!!!.
4) And that location where the sun rises from is where there are people who have no shelter from the sun. Do you know where the sun goes everyday? He (the prophet) said, "It goes and travels till it arrives and prostrates itself underneath the Throne of Allah and takes the permission from him (Allah) to rise again, and it is permitted (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Book 54, Hadith 421).
Abu Zerr Reported: Once I was with the Messenger in the mosque at the time of sunset. The Messenger of Allah said, "O Abu Zerr! Do you know where the sun goes?" I responded "Allah and His Messenger know better." The prophet answered, "It goes and prostrates underneath and bows down under Allah's Throne; will it ask Allah to authorize it to bow down, but he will not accept, then Allah will order it to go and rise back from where it came from, and that is Allah's All-Mighty Statement: 'And the sun runs o n i t s f i x e d c o u r s e f o r a t e r m . ” Qur’an 36.38, Sahih Al-Bukhari (Arabic), Book the Start of Creation, p. 1171, Hadith 3027; Book 60, Hadith 326.
