Love, sex and crimes of Maya Rani,Vol-1 ( End of Innocence)

“Obstacle? What obstacle you are talking about?” Aunt Vidya looked confused.
“Nothing Bhabhi nothing! Just a new name for Maya. Isn’t it lovely Bhabhi?” He looked back at me again and began laughing as aunt Vidya also joined in. I twitched my lips at them.
“Sandeep you keep away from my niece”, aunt Vidya said and winked at me.
“O.K. Bhabhi I’ll try. But I can’t promise you!” Sandeep said laughing as ha again looked at me. In response I twitched my lips again.
Thus laughing and enjoying the light banter we reached the river in an hour or so. We got off the car and Sandeep moved ahead to park it in the parking. Our family priest was there waiting for us. After exchanging pleasantries aunt Vidya moved for religious rituals. Before moving she addressed Sandeep.
“Sandeep why don’t you and Maya Rani go for the boat ride, I’ll be busy for more than an hour. You’ll also enjoy the day and won’t get bored”, she said winking at me.
“Good idea Bhabhi! Come Maya, let’s go!”
I nodded at the proposal. We took a boat with the canopy. On the bank of Ganga you could get many boats for the ride. The rides are quite soothing and refreshing and the cool and fresh air of Ganga does wonders!
I was sitting beside Sandeep. The boatman was rowing the boat at steady pace. The boat moved quite smoothly save for a jolt or two as it negotiated the waves. As the ride progressed the boatman fell into singing a song. It was a popular folk song and I was quite aware of it. It was about two lovers and their longing for each other. Sandeep also knew it and we hummed the song along with the boatman. Together with that melodious song the oars made a peculiar sound as they splashed in the water. I was sucked into the melody and sat there enraptured. Suddenly I felt Sandeep’s hand encircle my waist as he pulled me towards himself. I turned towards him and looked into his eyes. What I saw in them comforted me. I put my hand on his shoulder and rested my head there. I don’t know whether it was deliberate or because of the continuous rocking of the boat, that his fingers brushed against my breasts. We gave furtive glances and smiled as our eyes met. Suddenly he pulled my hand and said.
“Maya Rani shall we go to the other side of Ganga? The other bank. It would be quite a new experience!”
I nodded at his suggestion and tapped his hands to give my approval. Sandeep instructed the boatman to do so. In a few minutes we had reached the bank.
“Oh! How good the bank looks!” I said in an ecstatic tone to which Sandeep added winking at me, “And, quite secluded too!”
The boatman guided the boat towards a spot familiar to him and safely secured the boat. Having done it he took our permission to go and rest under the trees that stood at a distance. He said that he would come within an hour. That left two of us alone, to love and to play! River water at the bank was quite shallow. Our images swayed on the floating water as the waves played with it. He was wearing a long flowing ‘kurta’ (a long shirt) and white cotton pajamas. It was a customary dress worn by men in India during religious ceremonies. I was wearing a light blue ‘kurta’ and matching ‘salwar’ with it. It fitted me quite well. With one swoop he took off his ‘kurta’. Then he loosened the belt with the holster and the small revolver inside it and placed it on the boat wrapping it by his kurta. He never went out without his revolver. Anyway! With a child like enthusiasm he jumped into the water and played and splashed in it. In between he would throw water on me also. I laughed as I tried to shield myself vainly from it. Suddenly he dipped himself in the water and before I could count he must have taken at least ten successive dips. At the end of it he jumped on to the boat to take breath. As he stood before me with water dripping off his body he looked like Adonis. The bulge between his thighs was quite prominent as the clothes clung to his body because of being wet. Translucent pajamas gave a fair impression of his ’Munni’ and even the black roots of the ‘Munni’ could be discerned. Quite an eyeful! Unaware of my naughty feelings and meaningful glances he was busy catching his breath and soaking in the beauty of Ganga. Suddenly he jumped into the water again. Standing waist deep in the water he waved at me and called.
“Maya Rani why don’t you come in the water? You’ll enjoy it here. Come!”
“No, No! Sandeep I don’t want to get wet” I said showing a weak reluctance.
“Come on Maya! You are not made of salt that you would dissolve in it!” He said as he suddenly plunged at me and pulled me into the water.
“What Sandeep! You!” I was completely surprised.
“Ha Ha! Enjoy it Maya Rani while we are here!” He was enjoying every bit of it.
Once inside the water all hesitation and fear evaporated away.. we began to splash water at each other using our hands and legs. Suddenly he pressed my shoulders with his hands and forcefully made me take a dip. I gasped for breath as I came out of it. Then with my full force I pushed him back. He was quite startled and didn’t expect me to do so. He fell back, but as he tried to support himself by catching my hand, he took me also down with him. We fell into it together and frantically tried to stand on our feet. Once comfortable I held the boat facing towards it and leaning heavily on it, trying to catch my breath. As I was standing there Sandeep came from behind and placed his palms over my shoulders. Standing very close to me he pressed his body against mine. His ‘Munni’ was full and had come alive. He rubbed it against my hips. God! What was he doing! Nobody was around. We were alone and there was no chance of anybody coming there. I tried to move away. But he didn’t let me .Taking me into his arms he turned me around. We were now facing each other. Looking into each other’s eyes. He slipped his hands down from my shoulders and placing them on my breasts pressed them lightly. I tried to move away my hands, but they wouldn’t budge from there. Looking deep into my eyes he hugged me tightly.
“Maya you look quite beautiful and very very sexy!” He said these words pressing his ‘Munni’ against my ‘Bulbul’.
Now many men would call me sexy and more would call me beautiful. But, Sandeep was the first one to call me both.
“Sexy my foot! Don’t try to be naughty and don’t try to take the advantage of the situation” I smiled and blushed at him as I said.
Naughty was a mild word! He had mischief written all over his body! He took my hand in his grip and placed it directly on his ‘Munni’ by slipping it right into his pajamas. I tried quite hard but was not able to move it away. Gradually I relaxed and cupped it. It was hot and very hard. It pulsated in my hand. Not knowing what to do with it, I released and squeezed it several times. He hugged me hard and slipped his right hand inside my salwar. Probing the slopes of the hips and the valley between he brushed the salivating nether lips of my ‘Bulbul’.
“No Sandeep! Please take it away!” I said squeezing his ‘Munni’. I was saying something else and doing something else!
“O.K. Relax!” he said as lightly dug into my ‘Bulbul’.
We must have stood like this, feeling each other and fondling with what we had! We kissed each other and probed whatever we could. I had closed my eyes. It was Sandeep who saw the boatman coming. He was still quite a distance away. He hugged me tightly and then pushed me away lightly from himself.
“What!” I looked at him.
He pointed towards the boatman. Reluctantly but immediately we separated. Sandeep tied his kurta around his waist to hide his bulge. I took his belt and the holster in my hand. As the boatman guided the boat towards the other and the main bank we sat facing each other. We smiled whenever our eyes met. I would smile at him and then lower my eyes blushing at him. I was excited! I was happy! I was reluctant! I was eager! I couldn’t understand anything at that time. My condition had become quite strange, even to me. Engrossed in these thoughts and trying to hide myself from Sandeep’s deep and probing glances I sat playing with the river water with my hands. Soon the bank was in sight. Seeing the bank approaching, Sandeep took the belt and the holster from me. He tied the belt around his waist and put on his kurta. ‘Munni’ had lost much
of its vigor by then. As we reached the bank we saw aunt Vidya waiting for us. Boatman secured the boat at the bank. Sandeep jumped off it and held his hand to lend me support to alight from it. I took hold of his hand and jumped off the boat. Aunt Vidya was standing there smiling at us.
“Come both of you. Quite friendly, no! Had a good time! Both of you!” Aunt Vidya was her usual naughty and ebullient self.
“Yes, Bhabhi, and you? Is everything over? Sandeep tried to skirt away from the topic.
“Yes Sandeep. You go and get the car from the parking. I’m coming with Maya there”
Sandeep proceeded towards the parking as aunt Vidya took my hands in hers.
“Maya, what’s the matter honey? You seem all red, dear. All over! What happened?”
“Nothing aunty!” I said looking down.
“Tell me Maya. I know something happened!” She insisted.
“He… He touched me aunty!” I whispered.
“Touched you! Touched you where?”
“He touched me at my ‘Bulbul’ and made me hold his ‘Munni’”, I said blushing heavily.
“Just touching! Nothing else! I thought both of you had done it.” Aunt Vidya looked at me laughing and added. “wait I’ll arrange something better for you!”
“Aunty, you!” I said as I pinched her hand.
Talking and laughing we came to the parking. Sandeep had by then taken out the car from the parking. We sat in the car and proceeded towards our home. Sandeep was quite all the way. He gave me furtive glances and when our eyes met we smiled at each other. Aunt Vidya dozed off as soon as the car gathered speed. Sandeep drove the car really fast. I was sitting at the back thinking about what aunt Vidya had said about arranging something better. Was it a joke. Or, was she serious. I hope she’s not having an affair with Sandeep. No, No! Can’t be! How bad I am thinking like this. Engrossed in these thoughts I sat at the back with my eyes closed. Soon we reached home.
We got out of the car. With everybody inside the house, Papa, Ma and others we could not even think of doing anything, that would sow even an iota of doubt in their mind. I kept to my room and Sandeep was away for most of the time with his work in spite of that day being a Sunday.
I never knew or had thought that you could be engrossed in somebody’s thoughts all the day! How could somebody take your whole being as hostage and you derive pleasure in it! But this was happening in my life and happening to me. I was definitely riding a tide and I had way to go! Things were happening so fast in my life.
Sandeep had the habit of sleeping in the open. Though the sky was overcast and everybody advised him against sleeping on the roof, he brushed aside all the suggestions. He said that if it would rain, he would come down. And then he made his favorite statement that he was not made of salt that he would dissolve in rain. Nobody could make him agree to come down and arrangements were made for him on the roof. My parents went to bed early. They always took light dinner and preferred to do it early. As usual I went to study in aunt Vidya’s room. Folks we didn’t always enjoy with each other! We did some serious work too! Aunt Vidya was excellent in math. She taught the subject really well. That’s why I was very good at math and it was one of the reasons why I stood at the top of the class. Being at the top of the class had something to do with my attitude too. I do not want to lag behind! I hate to lose! I’m a bad loser! But what to do! That’s how I am! Aunt Vidya however had her unique way of teaching. Joking, poking, probing and pleasing she taught the subject. You never had a dull moment with her. After studying, I went to my room for sleeping.
I woke up in the middle of the night due to commotion outside in the courtyard. The rain had begun to fall in the night and had intensified by then. Sandeep and the two servants who had been sleeping on the roof had rushed downstairs. Sandeep’s arrangement was being done in the living room. My father himself was supervising it. Then a thought occurred to me. If I could sleep in the room! How much dear, how much I’ll enjoy! Engulfed in these wishful thinking and fanciful thoughts I drifted into sleep again. But little did I know that wishful thinking and fanciful thoughts had a habit of sometime coming true. I would experience this truth the next day!
*………………………………*
“Wake up Maya! Wake up!” My mother was there patting my head lightly and calling me.
“Maa! It’s still time to wake up. Let me sleep”, I said drawing the bed sheet over my head.
“No, No! Wake up! Your father and I had to go”, she said pulling away my bed sheet. There was urgency in her voice.
“Going! Where are you going?” Now I was fully awake and anxious as there was no plan of going anywhere till yesterday.
“Vrinda aunty expired last night! Sudhir uncle had phoned early in the morning”, said in a sad tone.
Sudhir uncle was a childhood friend of my father. They were very close to each other. Their wives Vrinda aunty and my mother had also become close friends. The couple was childless. They lived in Lucknow, the state capital. Her demise was really sad for my parents.
“What had happened?” I enquired.
“Sudhir informed that she had been keeping ill of late. Yesterday she collapsed in her bed room and went into coma. She couldn’t be revived and breathed her last in the night. Her last rites will be done before two in the afternoon”, she said in one go as she was in hurry and in no mood to talk more as her eyes had welled up. She went away wiping her tears.
I jumped out of the bed and went to where she was standing.
“Ma, I’m very sorry to hear it!” I said holding her hand
“Yes Maya. That’s the God’s will. Nobody can do anything against it! “She said in a withdrawn mood. She added further, “It’s nearly four hour journey from here. If we rush we’ll there by ten thirty, eleven. You go and get ready for the school. Vidya is here. She’ll look after everything. We’ll be back tomorrow or day after. Vidya, Vidya…” She went out calling aunt Vidya.
Father was very upset and we dared not ask him anything. We knew his mind was pre-occupied with Sudhir uncle and Vrinda aunty. Mother was busy arranging everything for the journey and for the stay there. In an hour or so they had left. I didn’t feel any emotional loss or something like that in me, strangely. My mind kind of went blank! No feeling of any kind of loss or sadness. Just emptiness! I quickly dressed up and rushed to the school. It was in the school that my mood changed, as I got happy news. A poem that I had submitted for the ‘Inter School Competition’ had won the first prize! The topic was ‘Plight of the Girl Child’. It was pinned on the school notice board for everybody to see and read. My prizes also announced in the morning assembly and I received kudos from my Principal. It’s one of my favorite poems and I want you to read it before we go further. Its title is ‘Nobody’s daughter’.
What lies there?
A shapeless shape and a formless form,
Tucked away secluded, I saw on the Railway platform.
Oh! It moved a bit and stretched anew,
A human form it was and I got the clue.
But as I closed angst showed on the face,
Body of a girl, bereft of grace.
Fourteen maybe fifteen, she looked no more,
Shifted uneasily from experiences of yore.
Expecting me to fathom, as men had done,
Feel here and there and have lusty fun.
She looked beyond her age, though young as I had told,
Matured by the look and the lust men hold.
The doors for her opened, not out, but in,
Withdrawing into her for committing a sin!
Ashamed of what she carried between her thighs!
Belonging to none, yet belonging of guys.
Her eyes met mine, as if asking a thing,
Was I ‘window-shopping’ or will I buy something?
As time ticked by, she grew more restless,
Was I here for something, or just for a fuss?
My hands moved down, as I went for my purse,
&nbs
p; Her broken lips curled, going for a curse.
A crispy note appeared so swiftly in my palms,
She glanced right and left, and then became calm.
Her voice I heard, when she asked me, “Where?”
My mind was puzzled, as I fixed my stare.
“Daughter, take the money, go out, go and eat!”
She sprang up so fast, and was bang on her feet.
“Whose daughter I am? Whose father you are?
No relatives, no friends, neither near, nor far,
Who gave you permission to call me as such!
When I am not asking, then why give me crutch!
And, I am no daughter, so don’t be a father,
I’m not a beggar; I buy and not gather,
Buy if you want, but don’t lay a claim,
You men look so different, but sound just the same,
In the glare of the day, you talk like a sage,
In dark you treat us, as animals in a cage,
My body you can buy, the soul I won’t sell,
I don’t need your heaven; I’m comfortable in my hell!”
It was then that I saw, her eyes drop a tear,
Tried hard as I could, but my gaze couldn’t steer.
I moved my hands softly, to comfort and to say,
She stooped low and clear, and ran, ran away.
Her cries said that all, what her words couldn’t say!
I stood there motionless, have I done a wrong?
Why were there cries, when I had tried for a song?
Emotions run amok, and I hardly could start,
Have I broken it more, her very shattered heart!
I was very happy that day. I had really liked this title and that it gained recognition and approval made me very happy. Happily I came home. I broke the news to aunt Vidya when I saw her. She was my lone critic, loyal supporter and willing audience.
“Maya you are a good poet. I am really happy for you that your effort has been appreciated by those who matter”, she said happily.
“Yes aunty”, I said hugging her.
