Out in deep space aboard the, Aldebran space cruiser the captain was watching developments steadily worsening by the hour with a sinking heart. He could not believe it when the Defiant suddenly drew up alongside the Constellation, which had suddenly gone into orbit about a small Earth colony planet following a planetary distress message from the planet. Things were not going along as planned, and he could only hope that something drew the space cruiser away from the colony ship before they all reached Persephone, because he would not dare to go up against an Earth cruiser and so start a war that neither he, nor Aldebra, could not possibly win.
