“If you don’t stop, I’m going to lock the door and take you to bed,” Leah threatened. She felt Megan smile against her lips.

  “Tonight. Your place,” Megan whispered.

Leah finally separated from Megan, then leaned closer and kissed her once again. She paused, touching Megan’s face with her fingertips, her gaze traveling across smooth skin to find her eyes.

“I’m totally captivated by you, you know.”

Megan took her hand and gently kissed her palm, letting her lips linger. “And I’m falling in love with you.”

Leah ignored her racing pulse as she moved closer to kiss Megan yet again. “Fall faster,” she whispered. “I’ll catch you.”

Their eyes held for precious seconds, and Megan finally nodded. They smiled at each other, the kind of sickly sweet smiles that new lovers often share. Then, without another word, Megan took her hand and led her out of the room.

Laughter was coming from the kitchen, and Leah squeezed her hand as they headed toward it. But just before they got there, Megan stopped and turned, a smile still playing on her lips.

“Have we talked lately about me getting my parking spot back?”

Leah laughed. “My parking spot,” she corrected.

“A good girlfriend would let me park there,” Megan countered.

“I knew that was the only reason you were dating me.”

“Well, there are a couple of other reasons,” Megan teased. “Should I name them?”

  “Maybe tonight. When we’re naked.”

Megan’s eyes softened. “I vote we eat and run.”

  “Yeah? Suits me fine.”

“They’ll all know why we’re leaving, of course.”

  “Of course.”

  “Will that bother you?”

“Not in the least. And by the looks Mary Beth and Nancy have been exchanging, they may beat us to it.”

  Megan grinned. “Then eat fast.”

  * * *

Megan rested her head on her elbow, her other hand moving aimlessly across Leah’s skin, feeling Leah tremble when she touched a particularly sensitive spot.

  “Are you happy?”

Megan looked up, smiling at Leah’s whispered question. “Inside…inside, I don’t think I’ve ever felt this happy before.” She met Leah’s gaze. “More ecstatic than happy.” She arched an eyebrow, flipping the question to Leah. “You?”

Leah nodded. “Beyond happy…wherever that place is.”

Megan leaned down, brushing her lips across Leah’s. “Yeah. I’m in that place too.”

Leah pulled her closer, and Megan snuggled against her, sighing contentedly. Was it too soon to be feeling this way? Was she falling too hard, too fast? Probably. It didn’t matter though. It wasn’t like she could stop. Not now. Leah had touched her in a way that no one else ever had. She couldn’t explain it, not even to herself. All she knew was that when Leah was near, her pulse raced. When Leah kissed her, her knees got weak. And when Leah made love to her, the world began spinning so fast, all Megan could do was to hold on…hold on tightly and pray that Leah would catch her when she fell.

Because, she knew—in her soul—that she had already fallen.

She’d fallen in love with Leah Rollins.

She raised her head slightly, finding Leah’s eyes on her, those smoky blue eyes that she knew she could trust…trust with her life, trust with her love. She didn’t need the fluttering of her heart to tell her what she saw there. Leah’s eyes were open to her.

  Leah had fallen too.

  “I’ll catch you,” Megan whispered.

Leah smiled…an easy, gentle smile that nearly melted Megan’s heart.

“Good. Because I’m free falling right now.”

Megan leaned closer, kissing Leah as tenderly as she could, hearing Leah’s soft moan as she pulled away.

“Fair warning,” she said. “If I catch you, I’m not ever letting you go.”

“Consider me warned.” Then Leah smiled and rolled them over, resting her weight on top of Megan. “Just remember, it won’t matter what you do, how much you beg and plead or threaten…you’re not getting your parking space back.”

Megan laughed. “We’ll see about that.”
