This kiss was hungry...almost primitive. It should be illegal the way Chris explored her mouth, his hot tongue brushing against hers intimately. She ran her hands down his wet biceps, feeling his muscles beneath her palm. They were soaking wet...but oh so hot.

When Chris finally pulled back, he stared down at her, eyes blazing with passion and wonder. His brows were furrowed as if he was thinking too much about what they had just done and Callie wanted to reach up and smooth it.

What they had done wasn't wrong. It had felt right but what was Chris thinking now? He thought her to be a man so...why had he kissed her? What did it all mean?

The rain fell into a soft drizzle and Callie gave into the urge to tenderly brush his cheeks against her palm. He continued to stare down at her with that same look and Callie was beginning to think that he was once again withdrawing from her. She didn't want that. What she wanted him to do was lose control and hold her...and not let go.

Would he give her the sweet taste of paradise only to walk away?

Pulling himself away from her, Chris pushed himself up and turned his back to her. Callie stared at his broad back, a stab of pain ripping her heart open. She sat up but didn't stand up. The kiss still made her feel like jelly.

"Chris?" Callie called to him. He stiffened and looked back at her. Readying herself for his rejection, she reached out her hand and waited.

Chris stared at Cal, eyes taking in the way his wet hair plastered itself against his cheeks...his swollen lips...the desperation and yearning in his eyes. Chris knew that right then, he could walk away and Cal would let him. He was ready for rejection, Chris could see it in his friend's eyes.

Looking up at the grey sky, he closed his eyes and let the rain drizzle on his face. His thoughts and feelings were in chaos. Wrongs and rights were so mixed up that he didn't know which way to go anymore. Lowering his face, he opened his eyes and stared down at Cal's outstretched hand.

If he took that hand...there probably was no going back. He had to chose now. Walk away? Or stay? Be more than friends...or let go?

"Chris," Cal called his name. Chris met Cal's pleading eyes. "Please?"

Hesitating, he reached down and took Cal's hand into his. Clutching on, he helped him up. Cal stared at their joined hands before slowly looking up.

"Let's go home." Still holding Cal's hand, Chris turned and lead them back to the path.

Behind him, Callie stared at their hands, tears burning in her eyes. She wasn't exactly sure what it meant...his hand holding hers like this but she could hope...God she could hope.

Don't let go, her heart called out to him. Please...don't let go.
