  “Oh, Sid.” Gabi stood, then Alana, both of them following Sean’s lead to place a comforting hand on her shoulder. “You can do this.”

  Sidney released a breath of laughter. “I’m a wreck.”

  “No, you’re not.” Blake stood too, standing beside Gabi. “You’re a warrior. You’ve battled more shit in the last few years than most people do in a lifetime. Give yourself credit.”

  “And put this poor guy out of his misery,” Mitch added, moving forward to hand her a handkerchief. “You’re not alone here.”

  Sidney lowered her hand from her mouth and took the offering. “Thank you.” She dabbed at her eyes, gently blew her nose, and then sucked in a deep breath and let it out quick. “Sorry.” She met Mason’s gaze with apology. “Carry on.”

  He lost his shit. He snorted, and then lowered his head as he burst into a nervous fit of laughter. Oh, Christ, she was going to kill him one day. Or slowly every day. And he didn’t mind one little bit.

  Giggles, guffaws, and chuckles filled his ears with happiness and his heart with warmth. When he lifted his head, Sidney’s dimples greeted him, her beautiful smile brightened with tear stained cheeks. He grinned up at her, more alive and filled with emotion than ever before. He didn’t need to ask. Her answer was already written across her gorgeous face. She was his. He was hers. For now and forever their lives would be entwined with a similar force to the current grip her fingers were using to block the blood circulation in his hand.

  They weren’t going back.

  This was their time. This was their fate. And Mason was one lucky son of a bitch.

  “Marry me, kitten.”
