One's True Love Page 12

by Lindsey Owens

Trenton and Kailee thanked the doctor and continued back to the house. A meal was waiting for them when they returned. Trenton sat Kailee down at the table and turned toward the kitchen for drinks. He returned and placed the two drinks down in front of Kailee and his positions, then sat down himself.

During the meal Kailee had chatted mindlessly with Lilly and Jade making plans for them to have a girl’s night soon. She continuously had begged Jade and Caleb to move permanently to the pack knowing how much she would miss her friend when she returned home.

“I think we should go shopping for some baby stuff.” Lilly smiled and looked over at Trenton for assurance.

He nodded. Trenton insisted he went along with the girls as they shopped. He ordered the largest limo to the front of the house and carried Kailee down to it. Sarah, Lilly, and Jade had planned on going baby shopping with Kailee. Michelle stayed home to tend to the wedding plans, but she did feel quite sad about the whole thing.

They first discussed what stores they wanted to shop at and Trenton instructed the driver to the direction of those stores. They started with the mall and then independent stores from there on. Jade rode separately with Caleb by her side. They first stopped at the hardware store and the limo pulled up behind them. Jade would help to design the room for the babies. She had taken Kailee and Trenton to the section of a hardware store that had paint in order to pick out the specific colors for the main wall paint before she could get to work on the design. When the young alphas left she had three gallons made up and brought them back to have some volunteers paint the walls of the room.

The nursery was one of the larger guest rooms next door to Trenton’s and Kailee’s room, which was perfect. Trenton had instructed laborers to cut a hole in the wall for a doorway between the rooms which was all a surprise to Kailee. It would be easier to get to them and would make her feel better knowing they were so close. Jade handed the paint off to the volunteers and insisted on the carpet being removed by another set. She had purchased medium colored wood flooring for the room and a large multi colored rug for the floor.

Jade made sure the room was blocked off from her friend. No peeks. Then they continued to the store for more supplies.

Lilly begged to help Kailee pick out clothes and toys. Kailee decided it wasn’t quite right to dress them all the same things, even though they were triplets; so she purchase any items she liked but not necessarily three of them. They went from store to store purchasing any and every item that Kailee absolutely loved. Diapers were purchased of newborn size all the way up to a few months old sizes. They also purchased toys of all varieties yet while Lilly pushed the carts filled with baby clothing Trenton carried Kailee until she couldn’t stand it any longer. He patiently waited by her side and begged her to let him either carry her or get her a wheel chair but she refused. She needed to keep her strength up and this was her way of doing it.

It was a nice relief to see the strong confident alpha following around Kailee like a lost puppy. He would put in his two sense on things he thought were cute and that his babies would like every once. But he reveled in the idea of Kailee getting everything she really wanted for the babies.

Sarah, Kailee’s mother, also walked around with Lilly, Kailee, and Trenton to ensure they didn’t forget the most important items. She found a multiples stroller; they had purchased three single strollers as well as one triplet stroller. Car seats, walkers, and bouncy seats were chosen from another store, then the essentials for bathing the babies. They purchased bottles, pacifiers, booties, toys, and play mats. They also purchased blankets yet left the bedding up to Jade to decide.

With each store they stopped at, the limo began to get more and more packed. Finally getting tired the group stopped to eat dinner. Trenton decided to call it a day when he looked at his mate and noticed her eyes dropping as she yawned. When they arrived home the Lilly and Kailee were curled into each other and sleeping. They had drifted off.

Trenton called to Jake letting him know that his little mate was asleep in the limo. Then he pulled Kailee into his arms and carried her away. Jake did the same slipping his hands beneath Lilly and bringing her inside. Sarah had pulled herself out of the limo and saw her mate, John standing near the door waiting for her. She went to him. John pulled Sarah close and kissed her gently then walked them both to their room for the night.

Trenton had ordered to have the bags and all the items purchased that night brought inside. They were to be stored in a guest room until Jade had finished the nursery. He would help Kailee along with a few volunteers later to take off tags, labels, bags and boxes of the items at a later time.

Yawning Trenton carried his sleeping mate up to their room kissing her gently on the forehead before placing her between the sheets of their bed and crawling in along side of her. Kailee sighed and curled into Trenton’s warm embrace for a well deserved good night’s sleep.

  Chapter

  Twenty

Kailee’s belly was getting bigger and bigger by the day. It became harder and harder for her to walk around let alone get up from bed. Her wolf was getting more and more anxious from the lack of exercise. She couldn’t wait to see their pups also. As soon as Kailee’s legs hit the floor she rushed to the bathroom to spill her stomach’s contents. This is how it went most mornings.

Trenton followed behind her and tied up Kailee’s hair for her. Then he got a wet wash cloth for her face when she was through. He carried her back to the bed setting her gently on the edge and searched for her clothes. She surveyed each item he chose and decided if it was what she wanted. But she hardly protested his choices for she didn’t want to have to do the searching herself she was too tired.

Trenton helped Kailee pull on the clothing over her plump belly and kissed her sweetly. It wasn’t the first time nor would it be the last; she would need his help. She walked with Trenton one arm around him for support as he held her other hand and her waist. She wasn’t sick just tired. She wanted the exercise today so she walked to the table with him. The rest of the wolves carefully side stepped their alphas and rushed for their seats. They hadn’t seen much of their new female so they wanted any chance they could to be near her.

Tomorrow was their wedding so today Kailee and Trenton would spend the day relaxing. Traditions of the groom not seeing the bride wasn’t going to happen. Trenton couldn’t stay away from his blossoming bride and his pending pups. Trenton’s need to know they were safe continued to grow.

Once breakfast was finished Trenton had asked for the car to come around and he carried Kailee gently to the limo. She wasn’t sure where he was taking her but he was happy about it.

A few of their guard slid inside and Trenton handed Kailee to Mason and then went to speak with the driver. He told the driver his plans for today and then returned to the back of the limo with his mate and guards. He decided they would come for the added protection today because they would be traveling to the city and he wanted a few moments to himself.

The first stop was that of a luxury spa. Kailee smiled nervously when Preston opened the door and slid out. “What are we here for?” She asked warily.

“I figured you would like a pampering day.” Trenton smiled. Kailee returned his smile as he handed her off to Preston’s hand so he could get out.

“You can have a pedicure, manicure, message; you can even have your hair messed with if you wish. I will be sitting by you the whole time patiently.” Trenton assured.

Kailee was very aware of the amount of attention she was receiving. It made her slightly nervous at the moment. Trenton smiled at the young receptionist who greeted them as they walked in. “Awe how cute” she cooed as Trenton handed Kailee to Preston. Preston set her down on a chair next to him and Mason sat on the other side of her while the other guard stood near bye. Trenton walked up to the receptionist to receive a brochure of services for Kailee.

He brought it back to her along with an ink pen. “Sweetheart, here is a list of the services they provide. Please pick
everything you would like. We have all day.” He smiled handing her the pamphlet. She nodded and looked over the brightly colored paper. When she returned it to Trenton, he frowned at her. She had only circled one thing. “Please baby… pick what you would like or I will have the lady up front do it.” He growled lowly.

“Okay.” Kailee groaned taking the object back.

Trenton smiled when she returned it the second time. He carried it back up front to the woman who’s eyes bulged at the amount this man was about to spend.

“It will be five minutes while I prepare a room for her are you going to be joining her?” She asked. Trenton nodded and the woman wondered off. He wanted to spend the time with her as well. He wasn’t so sure about the girly things but he figured he would sit with her while she enjoyed it.

“Ms. Mars?” The woman announced. “I am ready for you.” Kailee stood up weakly. Trenton stood and placed a strong arm around her waist holding her weight. She needed some exercise but the belly was slowing her down. The woman escorted Kailee and Trenton back to the room and handed them both a robe. Kailee gazed up at Trenton and then back at the woman. The woman smiled and left.

“Here baby would you like me to help?” Trenton cooed as he pressed his hands to her hips. She allowed his hands to travel up her body stripping her off her shirt and then down her body removing one piece of clothing after another. When she was finally nearly naked he grabbed the soft robe and slid it around her body and onto her arms. Kailee smiled and thanked Trenton with a kiss. Today wasn’t much of a day to speak it was more of a no-need for words day.

He helped her up onto a chair, and then he did the same to himself. After a few minutes there was a knock at the door. When authorized a woman entered. The same which had first escorted them was there along with another woman for their couples massage. Later Trenton carried Kailee for a milk and honey body scrub. She also had a pedicure and manicure along with her nails painted with beautiful designs. She requested waxing also, which she had her legs and eyebrows done.

Overall Trenton and Kailee spent four hours pampering themselves but mostly pampering Kailee he carried her back out to the waiting room where his men were patiently waiting. She felt bad that they had waited the whole time and looked up at Trenton with an idea. “Can we take the men out to dinner?” She asked. “They had to wait here all day for us and I want to repay them.” She told him confidently.

“If you wish my dear, but they gladly would wait on you again. It is their duty and their honor, to serve their alphas.” He reminded her as he told the driver of a restaurant which to go to.

Trenton continuously reminded Kailee how much she was worth the trouble and that it really wasn’t a bother to him or the men around her to care for her. They ate lunch and continued on their way.

Trenton wanted to do one last thing. One more special surprise. The limo pulled up to a large white marbled building with the words ‘Pennington Jewelers’ written on a brass plaque above the doorway.

It was by far one of the most famous jeweler’s around. Trenton slipped out of the limo and Preston helped Kailee into his waiting arms. The day was long and she didn’t feel like walking any longer. She looked at him confused for a moment. Why had they arrived at the marbled store front? It was obvious she hadn’t seen the plaque.

Mason pressed a buzzer on the door which was answered by a man on the other side of a glass doorway.

  “Yes.” The man grumbled.

“Appointment for Trenton Mars.” Trenton spoke confidently.

“Of course sir.” The man muttered anxiously and yanked the door open. “Nice to meet you, Mr. Mars. Right this way.” The man bowed slightly and extended his hand for Trenton to follow after him.

He turned to Kailee and scooped her up into his arms before he turned to follow the man. The room sparkled with jewelry cases and Kailee’s eyes widened. The man grabbed a chair for Kailee to sit in then returned with one for Trenton who waved it off.

A woman appeared behind the counter with a bright smile. “Mr. Mars. My name is Loretta, what may I find for you today?”

“We are getting married tomorrow and I would like to find the perfect wedding ring for my bride. Also I would like to get her a few pairs of earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. Also a gemstones ring of her choice for her other hand.” Trenton spoke looking at Kailee and watching as her jaw dropped.

Kailee gasped and looked up at Trenton. “Are you sure?” She knew this place was expensive. What jeweler has the doors locked and waits for appointments only.

“Yes my love. Pick out anything you want.” Trenton beamed.

“What style wedding ring would you like to try on first madam?” Loretta questioned. Kailee hadn’t thought about it. She looked up at the woman baffled for a moment. Loretta caught the scared look in her eyes. “Ah… I have the perfect solution my dear.” Loretta chuckled then pulled out a few different styles. First the woman asked what color she would like.

“Silver or white gold, gold or platinum.” The lady questioned.

“Silver or platinum.” Kailee nodded. She was positive she liked the shiny silvery color better than that of gold.

“Okay. What shape diamond do you prefer?” She questioned showing Kailee the various shapes of diamonds on a small plastic card.

She had eventually decided on a princess cut center diamond, which was set into a fourteen carat platinum ring. Surrounding the ring was thirty sparkling round brilliantly sparkling diamonds and to top it off was a matching wedding band with laced with diamonds. She asked the woman what the price was. Fearful of spending money but the woman looked back up to Trenton who was wondering around looking back at other gorgeous pieces.

“Madam…” Loretta replied nervously. “Ah… I am not allowed to discuss the price with you. I am sorry.”

Kailee sighed in frustration and Trenton rushed to her. “What is the matter?” He asked as he enveloped her into a hug.

“Why am I not allowed to know prices?” She asked with a grumble, Trenton then looked up glaring at the woman. The woman shied back slightly terrified at his low audible rumble.

“Trenton!” Kailee scorned. He looked back at her with sympathetic eyes.

“I want you to choose the best and most beautiful item without the worry of the price.” His head bobbed “Is this the one you chose it’s beautiful.” He beamed.

“I don’t want it until I know the price.” Kailee growled.

  “Kailee.” Trenton warned.

“Trenton.” Kailee groaned again. Trenton looked up at the woman in defeat. The woman looked down at him in confusion. What would she do? He had told them under no circumstances to discuss prices with his fiancé.

  “Miss.” Trenton spoke.

“$43,564.” She breathed in a hurry.

Kailee gasped and didn’t know what to say her eyes were as wide as saucers as she began to tug at the ring. “This is exactly, why I didn’t want you to know the price.” He said settling his hand onto her delicate hand, calming her rapid movement. “We’ll take it.”

They continued to choose two necklaces, four bracelets, five pairs of earrings and another ring, a ruby surrounded by diamonds.

After their unbelievably expensive trip today Kailee was exhausted. Trenton and his men were exhausted as well. He slid her into his arms once more and carried her up to the bedroom and slipped into bed beside her.

  Chapter

  Twenty-one

“What the hell was that?” Kailee screamed as she jolted up from the bed. Trenton sat up groggily rubbing his eyes and stared at her.

“What are you talking about?” He questioned.

“You didn’t hear that? It was like a loud balloon popped.” Kailee explained as she stretched her legs over the edge of the bed and began to stand.

Instantly when her body was upright she knew what the noise was. Water gushed down her legs as she stared wide eyed at Trenton. “My water broke, the babies are coming” She breathed.

  Trenton rushed to
her side. He helped to hurry her down the hall to a room which had been set up for her delivery. He yelled through his mind link for the doctor. It had been five minutes and still no response. Trenton gave Kailee a worried look begging her for forgiveness as he rushed out of the room.

Trenton banged on the guest room door which Sarah and John had slept and eagerly on to the rest of the family’s bedrooms and last his parent’s doors as he rushed down the hall. Each were groggy and yawning as they opened the door.

“The babies are coming!” He screamed at them. “Go! She’s in the delivery room. I need to get to the doctor.” Trenton demanded as he rushed down to the phone. He dialed the doctor’s number and waited impatiently for it to ring.

  “Hello?” The doctor replied lazily.

“The babies are coming!” Trenton grunted into the phone.

“Oh! I’m on my way.” The doctor replied as the phone went dead.

It was nearly two o’clock in the morning Trenton took note as he raced back up to Kailee’s side. Her breathing was heavy and the contractions were making her scream every few minutes. He went to her side and kissed her hand gently as tears streamed down her cheeks.

“It’s okay sweetheart the doctor’s on the way.” Trenton couldn’t figure what was taking him so dang long. It wasn’t like he lived very far away.

Michelle nudged Trenton. “The contractions are so close together we need to see if the baby’s crowning.” She told him nervously.

“I will do it, don’t worry.” Trenton kissed Kailee’s head and made his way down to her feet. She was already in position for him to see if there was anything there and sure enough… His eyes went wide as a baby’s head began to appear.
