“Walker,” she laughed. “It’s not that simple. There’s something going on with him. I don’t know what it is. I just need to feel him out, see where his head’s at. I can’t just drop a bomb on him like this,” she explained.

“Danica, you’re just telling your grandfather you have moved in with your boyfriend. Your boyfriend who, by the way, is the Sheriff. I’m very important, you know.” I grinned at her, tapping my badge. “Besides, it’s not like we’re telling him you’re pregnant,” I joked. The pregnancy quip was off the cuff, a slip of the tongue. But as my eyes locked with hers in the mirror, I could see it. I could see her standing in the kitchen, wearing my flannel, her belly swollen with my baby. God, I wanted to see that. I slid my hands from her hips to her stomach. I held our non-existent child with protective care. She lay her hands over mine, resting her head back against my chest.

“You can see it, can't you,” she whispered.

I have never thought of having kids before I met Danica. There are a lot of things never on my radar before I met her. A house, marriage, babies. I can see a future with her.

“Yes.” I kissed her. “They would have your pretty green eye.”

“The boys would have your height.”

“Boys?” I asked, kissing her again. “Baby, have you thought about us having kids?”

“Maybe.” Her eyes sparkled as she bit her lip.

“You know, before we master the whole having kids' thing, maybe we should practice.” I popped the button on her jeans, lowering the zipper.

“I guess we should know what we are doing,” she agreed.

Placing her hand’s on top of mine, Danica took control, bringing our hands to her beast. She gasped, applying pressure to my hand, I could feel her budding nipple through the fabric of her bra and tee. She looked me dead in the eye, sliding our hands down the front of her jeans.

“Walker. I need you.” She pleaded. My fingers slipped inside her panties, the heat of her pussy at my fingertips.

“Baby, as much as I love the way your ass looks in these skin-tight jeans, they need to go. Now,” I growled. We were both going to be late for work, but I didn’t care I needed her. I needed to taste her on my tongue, feel the tight heat of her body welcoming mine. Feel her release as she came on my cock.

  “Babe, bedroom now,” she demanded.

I backed into the room, removing my tee as I went, making quick work of my belt undoing my jeans; they hit the floor before I sat on the edge of the bed. Danica followed me, removing her tee, dropping it on the floor. Her sheer lace bra highlighting the perfect peaks.

  “Babe, get naked now.”

My phone buzzed on the nightstand. We both ignored it.

I stroked myself as she shimmied out of her jeans, her panties joining them on the floor.

  My phone buzzed again.

Again, it was ignored as she took my cock in her hand, stroking me. Eyes locked on mine; she licked the length of my cock. I moaned in pleasure as she wrapped her lipstick coated lips around the head of my cock. She licked and sucked me, eyes never leaving mine as she bobbed up and down on my cock.

“Baby, you need to stop,” I growled.

I pulled her off me, her lips coming away with a pop. She squealed as I lifted her on to my lap.

“Babe, why did you make me stop,” she grumbled.

“As much as I love watching you suck my cock. I love watching you ride it more.”

  “Well, then enjoy the show.”

She pushed me back against the bed. Her knees on either side of my hips. She reached between us, taking my cock in her hand. She locked eyes with me as she lowered herself onto my cock.

I gripped her hips as she moved. She threw her head back, cupping her breasts in her hands, pinching her nipples and she rode me seeking her pleasure.

My phone buzzed, rattling across the table.

“Babe, someone has a real hard on for you,” she moaned. Her amazing tits bouncing in front of me.

“The only hard on you need to worry about Baby, is mine.”

I flipped her on to her back, grabbing her ankles, holding her legs up and open as I fucked her like it was my job.

“Oh God, Walker,” she screamed. Pleasure ripping through her.

“No more waiting Baby. You live here now. Your mine.” My words punctuated with a thrust of my hips.

“Fuck me, Walker. Harder. Harder.” Her head thrashed back and forth as she lost herself to lust and desire.

“Come for me, baby, now!” I demanded, pounding into her deep and hard. She screamed my name, her orgasm clamping down on my cock.

I bellowed her name, my own release tripped by hers.

“God, I love you.” I confessed kissing her.

“I love you, Walker,” she panted. “I love you more than you know. Now answer your damn phone.”

  Walker

“You know you’re the Sheriff of this crazy ass town, right? Which means you need to answer your damn phone.” Eli said without preamble.

“I am allowed time to myself. Besides, I was with Danica and she will get my full attention over you every time.”

“I want you to know, it is only because I have met the lovely Danica and know that you are in true deep, she is probably going to propose any minute now, love with her I have kept all my normal comments to myself.” He said proudly.

“That’s very mature of you, bud. I appreciate it.”

“Exactly. If I weren’t mature, I would have said something like; get off that girl and answer your damn phone. Instead of saying that, how is the lovely Danica?”

  “She’s fine.”

  “Yeah, she is.”

“Why are you calling?” I growled.

“The back-traced camera feed finally pinged.”

It had been months since we found the camera’s hidden in the Rusty Wagon. Eli worked his techspert magic and put a trace on the line. I hadn’t heard anything since then, I just figured nothing happened.

“Sorry, Baby, it’s work.” I said putting my hand over my phone.

“Don’t call me Baby,” Eli sniggered.

“Shut it, you. Baby, I’m just going to step outside.” I grabbed my jeans off the floor, pulling them on, leaving them undone.

“Herrsherrmurrr,” she muttered, an arm over her face.

“Baby; are you ok,” I chuckled, removing her arm so I could see her pretty face.

  “Walker, you giffgoosxxx.”

“Dannie, Darlin’ try again.” I laughed against her lips. She was so sexy laying naked and unashamed in the middle of the bed, I have come to consider our bed.

“Walker,” she reached up, pulling me down to her. “You, give good sex.”

“You’re welcome.” I kissed her again. “If you’re really lucky, I’ll give it to you again.”

“I can hear you!” Eli bellowed. “Cut it out, I’m grossed out!”

“I’ll be back.” I kissed her again. I left the bedroom and walked out on to the back deck before I told Eli to fuck off and spend the day in bed.

  “What did you find?”

“That I am not sickened by your love.”

  “I’m hanging up now.”

“Who the fuck is Charles Andrews?”

  Danica

It was quiet, only the sounds of the kitchen staff preparing for lunch. Sundays the Rusty Wagon open at one-pm, serving a traditional Sunday Roast for churchgoers and sinners alike.

It was peaceful. The calm before the storm.

Walker sat at the bar drinking coffee while I set about getting the bar ready to open. He had been acting weird ever since he got off the phone yesterday. He seemed so angry. When I asked him what was wrong, he just kept saying nothing.

“Babe, aren’t you finished for the day?”

He’d been out on the highway all night at a truck accident. The contents of the truck were strewn everywhere when the driver swerved to miss a bull standing in the middle
of the road.

“I am,” he sighed tiredly, rubbing the back of his neck.

I leaned over the bar, running a hand over his scruff covered cheek. “Go home, go to bed, you look wrecked.”

“I will, only if you come home with me.”

  “Babe, I’ve got to work.”

“But sleeping is better with you,” he grouched, turning to kiss my hand.

“Baby, please go home. I promise to think of nothing but you at home alone, naked.”

“Hey that’s not fair. Now all I can think of is you naked in bed.” He looked so adorable, all tired and pouty. “I’m going home to sleep, but I’ll be back to pick you up,” he insisted, leaning over the bar to kiss me. “I love you.”

“I love you too, Walker Scott.”

His gaze moved to the staircase that led upstairs. “Heads up Darlin’, trouble’s comin’ your way.”

“Trouble is sitting in front of me,” I mumbled.

“What? I’m just drinking coffee,” he winked at me.

I turned my back to unload the next load of glasses from the dishwasher, hiding the smile threatening to turn into a grin.

“Walker, Lover.” Cecilia’s heels cracked against the floorboards as she crossed the floor. Her hips swayed seductively, her breasts threatening to spill from her top. She leant back against the bar beside him, resting her elbows on the countertop, all but shoving her surgically enhanced boobs in his face. “What is a Slice like you doin’ in this hovel before sundown? No offence, Sweetie,” Cecilia threw over her shoulder at me.

All offence taken, also back the fuck off my man bitch.

  “Cecilia, we need…”

“Walker, why don’t you bring your handcuffs and come upstairs with me?” Cecilia suggested. Her saccharin sweet voice meant to be alluring but made me throw up in my mouth.

  “Cecilia, I would like…”

“Walker, let me show you how a real woman treats her Man.” Cecilia ran a hooker red nail down Walker’s chest, and I saw red.

“Cecilia!” I yelled, sick of her ignoring me.

“What do you want, child? She snapped, waving between Walker and herself.

“Cecilia, watch your tone,” Walker warned. His tone was angrier than warranted. I mean, I wanted to punch her right in her dumb face for flirting with Walker when she knows that we are together, but his tone was a bit much.

“Lover, don’t play.” Cecilia reached up to run a hand through his hair.

  He pulled away.

  “Cecilia, please don’t touch me.”

“I love it when you play hard to get,” she cooed.

“I’m not playing anything, Cecilia. I’m just here drinking my coffee.” Walker placed his empty cup on the bar. “Danica, could I trouble you for another, before you set about your business with Cecilia?”

“Sure thing, Sheriff.” I welcomed the distraction.

Today was the day I was going to fire Cecilia.

The girls had been dropping hints about all the horrible things Cecilia had been doing. None of them came out and directly said Cecilia is the devil incarnate but anytime I said You’re talking about Cecilia, they shrugged looked at me with knowing eyes, hands up saying Whatever conclusion you draw from what I said is on you.

Translation: Yes, yes, hell-freaking-yes, we are talking about that oxygen thief.

I’m glad Walker is here. He keeps me calm, steadies my nerves. Makes me feel like less of a jerk for having to fire her.

  I’ve never fired anyone before.

I’ve been there while my mother has fired people, but I have never been the firer.

Walker saw me pacing around the lounge room, twisting my hands. I explained the situation, and that I had been struggling with my decision. I had been going back and forth between I should give her a chance to explain and her ass is grass.

“Danica, Baby calm down. How certain are you that what you have been told is true?”

“Every single one of them came to me, Walker. Every girl came to me and explained in details of how Cecilia bullied them into giving them half their fee. She threatened each of them. Apparently, she has a mountain of dirt on them all and terrorised them with it until they paid up.”

“Baby as the Sheriff I say you want to press charges you need evidence but has you boyfriend I say can her ass.”

“I just feel awful,” I sighed.

“Darlin’, I’ll be there for moral support and if needed I have a gun.”

I loved that he was joking and trying to make me feel better about what I had to do. I could have told Walker, I didn’t need his help, that I could handle Cecilia on my own, but truth be told, I appreciated his support.

I gathered myself as I refilled his cup. Walkers fingers brushed mine and winked at me as I handed it back.

  “Thank you, Darlin’.”

I had butterflies in my stomach. Partly because I was about to fire Cecilia, but mostly because of Walker.

“Cecilia, we need to talk,” I started.

“About what?” She asked, bored already, flopping down on a bar stool.

  “There have been complaints.”

“About whom? Whoever it is will be out on her ass before church service is over.”

  “You.”

  “Me?!” She screeched incredulously.

“Yes, you. There have been several complaints made about you, Cecilia. Normally I would give the person a chance to defend themselves against allegations made but, in your case, I don’t need to.”

“Because you know they’re false,” she laughed, flicking her ink black hair extensions over her shoulder. “Obviously, they are false. Everyone loves me. The girls, the clients, no one in this place is loved more than me.”

Naturally, she would never think she was in the wrong. She thought the girls were pushovers, and I was a moron.

“No, they don’t. No one loves you. Cecilia, the number of complaints and the variety of grievances made, along with the evidence presented, gives me no other option than to dismiss you. Effective immediately.”

  “You can’t fire me!”

“I believe she just did,” Walker added.

“Stay out of this you,” Cecilia snapped. “You can’t fire me. You don’t have the right. Where’s Billy? I’ll talk to him and get this sorted out.”

“Billy isn’t here. He doesn’t need to be.” I straightened my spine, squaring my shoulders. “If you had bothered to attend any of the staff meetings, you would know Billy retired months ago. I am now the owner of the Rusty Wagon.”

“You’re what?! There is no way that can be true. What did you do? Bamboozle the poor old git with your fancy city talk until he signed the place over to you. Do you know what this is? This is elder abuse. Walker, I want her arrested and the whole thing looked into. I care about Billy. Unlike you, you conniving bitch. You, you just want his money!”

“Cecilia, I said watch your tone!” Walker barked.

“Is this why you are here, Walker? To protect Little Miss Thing. Give her a spine, do her dirty work for her? Just because you are fucking the slut?”

“I’m just here for the coffee. I will warn you one more time, watch your tone when you are speaking to Danica. If you continue to be uncivil, I will arrest you.”

“Cecilia, your services are no longer required.” I reiterated. “Your employment has ended. Your bags have been packed.” I indicated to the stairs where Mike and Davie were carrying a case each. I pulled an envelope out of my apron, placing it on the bar. “Here is two weeks severance, although I shouldn’t be giving you a cent.” Cecilia snatched the envelope off the bar.

“You won't get away with this,” she seethed.

“You had a good thing going here, Cecilia, but you got greedy and mean. Now, it is you who will be out of here before church service is over.”

  Walker

“You won’t get away with this,” Cecilia screeched. “I have friends in high places.” S
he snatched her bag off Mike. Storming towards the door, her heels slapping the wooden floorboards.

As she reached the salon doors, Sunny and Eli walked in. Eli, his height and his muscle packed bulk, arms folder across his broad chest. Sunny, no slouch at six feet tall, cut a no less menacing figure in his dark jeans and navy deputy's button down.

  “Cecilia Bond.”

“Get out of my way Sunny, I’m not in the mood,” she snarled.

  “Cecilia Bond.”

“You know damn well who I am Sunny now get the fuck out of my way.”

“Cecilia Bond place you bag on the ground, get on your knees and place you hands on your head,” Sunny instructed.

“I know you like it when I’m on my knees, Deputy.” She sidled up to Sunny, running a painted finger down his chest. “I can't service you here, we’ll have to go somewhere else. I’m done with this hell hole. If your boyfriend wants to join,” she said, raking Eli with what she thought was a seductive glaze. “He’ll have to pay extra. Double if he wants ion on the action.”

“I know the perfect place.” Sunny grinned, slapping a cuff on her wrist. Before she could blink Sunny had both her wrists restrained and she was on her knees.

“What the fuck is going on here?” she seethed. “Damn Sunny I know you like it rough, but this is overkill don’t you think?”

“Cecilia, you have no idea what I like.”

Placing my coffee cup on the bar, I stood walking over to the trio.

“Walker, what’s going on?” Danica asked, coming around the bar, touching my arm. “Babe?”

“Yeah, Babe, you got something to share with the rest of us?” Cecilia looked up at me with hatred from her position on her knees.

“Cecilia Bond, you are under arrest.”

  “What? What for?”

“Babe, I just wanted her fired, no arrested,” Danica assured, touching my arm again.

“Is this your doing slut?” She hissed, struggling against Sunny’s hold. “What she do, Walker, huh? Spread her legs for the Sheriff, flash you her overpriced gash to make you do her bidding?”

Before I could stop her Danica was across the room, a loud slap ringing out as her hand flew across Cecilia’s face.
