My Wolf and me

Sensing humans coming, Romy began to nervously pace behind the majestic white wolf. Keeping Marlena safe was his priority, for his heart and the survival of his pack.
A tear slid from Trevor’s eye as he wholeheartedly said thank you to Sebastian for letting them see her.
Jimmy, grabbing his heart, was too emotional to utter his gratitude. He knew Romy was fighting his urge to protect Marley, yet still had brought her so that he and Trevor could have some peace. This simple gesture meant the world to Jimmy. He and Trevor could sleep again, knowing their dear friend was where she belonged, with the one she loved, the one who would die for her.
Suddenly, against Romy’s wishes, Marlena ran forward toward her dear friends. Both boys watched her cross a field with such grace and strength, a powerful Romy easily keeping pace. Once to them, Marlena leapt up and knocked both young men to the ground with her front paws. Shocked faces were greeted with a lick each before Romy guided her away.
Stunned, Trevor and Jimmy sat on the ground, watching both wolves run back into the forest. Marlena stopped at the edge, taking in the sight of her friends for a beautiful memory. Trevor and Jimmy waved. Marlena and Romy disappeared. Both men hoped that someday they would learn what had happened that tragic night, and they both hoped for the chance to see Marlena and Sebastian again.
The horn beeping spooked Trevor and Jimmy. They didn’t even hear the truck full of rowdy boys approaching. The truck slammed on the brakes, soil spraying from the old dirt road as Ted yelled out the window, “We’ve decided it’s time you two became boneheads again and took a break from worrying. Come have some beer! And girls, of course.”
T and Hound looked at each other, and for the first time in two weeks, they smiled.
The End
Thank you so much for reading My Wolf and Me. This book has a special place in my heart. I even had a charm designed to represent Romy that is available on my website: http://indias.productions. These two young characters simply owned my soul for a while, and I hope you enjoyed their love as much as I have.
About the Author
India R. Adams is an author/singer/songwriter, who has written YA and NA novels such as My Wolf and Me, Blue Waters (A Tainted Water Novella), Steal Me (A Haunted Roads Novel), Rain (A Stranger in the Woods Novel), and Serenity (A Forever Novel), as well as music for the Forever series.
India was born and raised in Florida but has also been lucky enough to live in Idaho (where she froze but fell in love with the small-town life), Austin, Texas (where she started her first book, Serenity, and met wonderful artists), and now Murphy, North Carolina (where the mountains have stolen a piece of her heart).
Being a survivor of abuse has inspired India to let others know they have nothing to be ashamed of. She has used her many years of professional theater experience to build characters and stories with dark undercurrents that stem from her personal life. She says, “I’m simply finding ways to empower perfect imperfections.”
Another thing India feels needs to change is the problem of sexual slavery. She has joined forces with jewelers to design beautiful ways to raise money for nonprofit organizations. Even though India writes about serious subjects such as domestic violence, sexual abuse, and human trafficking, she has a magnificent sense of humor, as do her characters. Her novels are perfectly balanced between laughter and tears, letting readers see how to empower their own perfect imperfections.

Spotlight Artist
Sitting at The Daily Ground in Murphy NC, I heard this young man, Wyatt Espalin, play live. The heart behind his performance had me thinking of Marlena’s father, Everett. I imagined this organic folky sound to be what Everett would’ve been listening to on his back porch drinking his evening beer. Marlena’s parents were such role models in my eyes, and I adore how much beta readers loved them. Listening to Wyatt had me thinking of another artist (a dear friend of mine and cowriter of the song “Shadows” for my Forever series) John Kelly. My favorite song of his is “I will love”. This sweet song is one that represents both Marlena’s parental figures—in a big way. That’s when I realized who my next Spotlight artists would be.
In dedication to Everett and Amelia, readers, may I please introduce you to Wyatt Espalin and John Kelly.

India’s Thank-Yous
First, I must thank the universe for the vision of a little girl being handed a puppy by a naked, injured woman. The intensity of the emotion between this woman and child created My Wolf and Me.
Ian Naster, you are so talented! Thank you for creating the wolf drawing and designing Romy’s charm. (For those interested in this jewelry, please visit my website).
Thank you to Connie for helping with editing in the earlier stages.
Thank you to Sue for believing in this book from the beginning. I miss you.
Betaaaasssssss! Your input makes my books so much better! Just couldn’t do this without you.
Thank you to my team at India’s Productions for sometimes getting lost in the black hole of research and advertising but always finding your way back to me, hahaha.
To readers for allowing yourselves to fall in love with my characters.
To reviewers and Bloggers, for taking the time to share my work.
And, most of all, my family. I love you… infinity.
