“This is true. I’ve never liked people touching me but the two of you. I love, love when the two of you touch me.” She admitted. “I really and truly love the way that it feels when you touch me. Even if it is only a glance of your hand to my shoulder or hair, a finger over my cheek. I love it all.”

“Between mates the need to connect, physically, mentally and emotionally is as necessary as taking your next breath. Every caress brings us closer, tying us tighter and making the bond even more solid.” Folding up the paper Tremayne set it aside along with his cup.

“Exactly. And I have to tell you, I love the bond.” She loved each caress that brought them closer together. “In fact I think we need to work on ensuring that the bond is constantly reaffirmed.”

“Every single day and night,” Carver nodded. “Mornings and afternoons too. Pre-dawn, post-dusk. Before meals and after. Bath time, shower time and even doing laundry. All good moments to get naked and be together reaffirming the bond.”

“Damn I love how you think.” Jett’s mouth was watering, and not for food either. She had to force herself to continue to eat, she made herself eat while watching him. “I need, hell I want you both again. We need to hurry and finish eating so I can jump you both.”

Laughing softly he picked up a strip of bacon and began to nibble on it slowly. “You’d better eat a bunch more, I have a feeling you will need the energy. You do tend to throw yourself into your work so very well. And I for one love it,” he grinned.

That had her grinning, “I do tend to toss myself into making love with you both with every single part of my being don’t I?” She asked with a smirk. “But how can I not? You guys are so deliciously wonderful to be a part of.”

“Excellent point,” he grinned at her. Then he pointed at the plate in a not so subtle hint to eat. Finishing the bacon he dug into another pancake and some of the eggs leaving a large portion for her to finish herself.

Jett laughed. “I know, I know. Eat.” And she did. Jett ate while they all three conversed and simply enjoyed being with each other. It was honestly wonderful. She loved it and hoped for many, many more days like this with them.

  Chapter Nine

The party was in full swing. It was a welcome to the Pack party, mating party and, mostly, a lets-get-drunk party. The music was great, Pack members all playing, some were their tunes and others were tunes off the radio. There was food, drinks of all sorts, laughter and just plain fun. They had a large area just for dancing, where she was currently being swung around to a fast tune by one of Carver’s seconds. He was laughing as they did the jive as fast as they could. The band apparently had taken up the challenge and kept speeding up, hoping to trip them up.

Carver was off to one side watching while talking to a group of the older women. And Tremayne was over talking to a group of people. The Pack had been wary initially of the Vampire, but he was being accepted easily now. Apparently if you told a group of Wolves a bunch of dirty jokes they’d never heard before, boom!, instant acceptance.

When she was finally led off the floor she was sweating, and laughing so hard she could barely breathe. Thanking the second that had danced with her she all but fell into Carver’s arms. “God that was fun. Who would have known that your seconds were such freaking amazing dancers?” She took the drink that he offered her and leaned into him, watching the Pack mingling with the Vampires that Tremayne had brought with him. “You okay?” She asked Carver quietly. He had been standing there on his own for a time, simply watching, looking, almost waiting.

Nodding he smiled for her, not his normal larger than life smile, but a more reserved one. “Just worrying a bit. Some of the Pack are not happy about the Vamps being here. Others are not happy about Tremayne being part of our triad. Hopefully they will get over themselves, quickly but I want to be as aware as I can be of what’s being said and what’s happening.”

“I hope that they get over themselves as well because I do not now or ever want there to be issue.” Mostly because it would be her that would be bringing it upon them and she wasn’t so sure that she could handle that. At all. “Are you sure that I’m worth it?” Jett asked softly, her face tilted up to Carver’s. “This trouble that I seem to bring with me, are you sure?”

With a glare he wrapped one of his arms around her neck and pulled her closer. “You will always be worth everything that may come into our lives. Good, bad, upset and joy. No matter what it is, as long as you are with us, we will know that everything will be just fine. So shuddup with the bemoaning shit. You are queen around here babe, enjoy the moment. Trust me, they’ll put you to work eventually and the crown will mean nothin’.”

That had Jett laughing and she nodded. “All right then, no more bemoaning anything. I just had to know. Had to be sure one last time. You know how I am, I worry.” She was a worrier by nature, well when it came to these men she was at least.

“I know that, baby,” he said in a gruff tone. She felt him press a kiss to her hair and got a little extra squeeze. “But you should also know something about us. We will willingly walk through the very fires of Hell for you. I would go against Pack for you and you should know just what that means to a Wolf.”

That shocked the hell out of her. She licked her suddenly dry lips and nodded. “I would do the same for you.” She admitted. “I would do anything for you. For both of you, except choose between you. Please never ask me to do that?” She knew that they wouldn’t. They had their balance now and that was what was necessary in a relationship like they had.

“Never going to happen,” he said. Then he laughed and shot her a huge smile. “Except at Christmas when we give you gifts. Then we’re going to make you choose who did the best job of getting you something. We’re men, we need a bit of competition.”

“Good. Wait. Oh crap. Okay but give them to me anonymously or else I will not choose. I mean it. So if you want to know who gave the best then I better not have the first clue who gave what. Deal?” She asked with a smile.

Carver chuckled and nodded, “I’ll let him know. This should be damn fun,” he said softly. Pressing a kiss to her temple he stiffened in her arms, tension radiating from his body. “Be back in a second, love. Don’t go dancing with anymore of these Wolves, I feel the need to dance with you next.” With that he left her side and moved into the crowd towards a small group huddled together. When he arrived the group looked started and a bit wary. Whatever he said to them they all had a moment of anger cross their faces before they disbanded and went different directions. Then Carver and Tremayne shared a look, Tremayne rolled his eyes and Carver just shook his head before coming back her way.

Jett waited until she was back in Carver’s arms to lean into him and ask, “Trouble?” Or was he heading off trouble before it began? That was the question there. “Have your two clans, packs or whatever you want to call them been at war for long?”

“Vampires are Clans, Wolves are Packs,” he said quietly. “It’s not exactly war so much as a natural dislike of one another. Wolves and Vampires don’t get along well on the best of days. Tremayne and I have had a running hate for each other going for a time. It’s morphed into a friendly rivalry on the best of days and little boys duking it out in the mud on bad days. But there are some in the Pack that think the Clan is here to look for a new meal source. No matter how many times it’s been said, no matter who says it, some still think they will be the next meal even though we’ve reassured them it’s not happening. A Vampire prefers human blood, plain and simple. A finer vintage as Tremayne put it. Wolves are more the boxed version of wine to them. Good in a pinch but not anywhere on their list of choices for a meal.”

“Ah, okay.” she murmured. “Well its a good thing that he never has to worry about going elsewhere, right?” There was a hesitation and then she asked, “Wait. If we become pregnant. What will he do? I mean, don’t get me wrong. I love him but if we somehow were able to have a child with my messed up genetics I wouldn’t want him to fee
d from me. Bad I know, but I would worry too much about a baby. Does that make sense?” Or was she borrowing troubles?

“It wouldn’t hurt the baby,” Tremayne said coming up behind her. “But if it’s a concern I could find someone to act as a donor that you approved of. It would have to be female though, I’m not one that could take from a male comfortably without it being an emergency.”

That had her frowning and she leaned back against Tremayne. “I’m not sure about that.” She was watching Carver now and asked, “And you are sure that it wouldn’t hurt our child? If we did become pregnant and you feed from me, it wouldn’t hurt our baby would it?”

“Not at all,” he said slipping an arm around her waist. “I’d have to take a bit of care and you might need to feed from Carver from time to time. But for the majority of the pregnancy it would be as it is now. In the beginning I know that female’s need to feed a little heavier and more often than any other time in the pregnancy. As well as the last couple of days, which is usually the clue that the child is about to join the world. Not always, but a good enough number of times that all Vampire males pretty much hustle their mates to the hospital post haste.”

She nodded at that and chewed her lower lip. “Gotcha. Well since I am half vampire I guess that means something too, right?” Which would mean she would have to learn to feed. Dammit. “I hate that I will have to one day take from one of you,” she whispered.

“Why? It is a part of who you are Jett,” he said quietly. “You can’t fight your own nature, you have to learn to live with it and accept it. All the strengths and the weaknesses that come with that. You are part of three worlds now, human, Vampire and Wolf. There is a balance to it all, of course, but you won’t be trying to figure it all out on your own. Just remember, you are mated to two who know this world we live in well, we fully expect and wait for the day that you’ll need to take blood from us.”

“This is very true,” she said with a smile. “I have two amazing, handsome, and so sexy men as mine that it just stuns me each day anew that you are mine.” She whispered quietly. “I’m happy that you are mine as well. So very happy.”

“Glad you’re on the same page now,” Tremayne said. Tipping her chin up he kissed her and then drew back with a smile. “Go and dance with the Wolf. He did promise you a dance just to keep you out of the clutches of the others. I say have him put his money where his mouth is.”

“You going to dance with me next?” She asked with a grin. “And how much longer should we remain before we can get out of here and go and have some fun, the three of us?” She asked with a hungry, teasing tone.

“I will dance with you as soon as he’s done stepping all over your toes. You do need to know that one of us at least can dance,” he smiled and threw a wink over her head. Given the growl behind her she was guessing that it was Carver he was aiming that one at.

“Sounds good to me.” She looked back at Tremayne and smiled, “I will be back.” She said happily. “See you soon darling. We will talk later Tremayne.” She told him with a grin and moved into Carver’s arms. “Come and dance with me Wolf.”

“Hell yeah,” he said. Scooping her up, his arm under her ass, her Wolf carried her out onto the dance floor. As he set her down, like it had been a cue, the band changed things up to a dreamy, slow song. One for lovers, where they could get close even as they wished they could get closer still.

Jett moved in close to Carver, as close as she could possibly get. Her body rubbing against his had her smiling. Looking up at him she whispered, “You are so hard.” Not just his body either. “If I didn’t know better I would swear that you would take me right here on the middle of the dance floor.” And she would let him.

“I would,” he said, his arms wrapping around her so there was very little space between their bodies. “But I don’t like the idea of the Pack watching what we do together. Tremayne is one thing, but this bunch of perverts, something else entirely.”

“Good thing.” She would let him; her dress was long enough that no one would see, but he was right. It was best that they kept their sex lives behind closed doors. “However I wouldn’t argue if you wanted to find a dark corner to press me up against and have your way with me.” She leaned closer and whispered, “Especially since I’m not wearing panties.”

His hands landed on her ass and hauled her in closer to him. “What?” he asked on a growl that vibrated through her body. Every point where they touched she could feel his growl and the reaction that it caused in her body. “Why are you not wearing panties?”

“Because I was very, very hopeful that you would want to find a dark corner with me somewhere and make love with me. That or you would maybe let Tremayne take me to some dark corner or even better both of you?” She asked with a grin.

“Our naughty, naughty little mate. Wanting a rough and tumble hard bang out where someone could catch us. Interesting,” he said with another growl. “After this dance I think you and I will have to dance another way. I know the perfect spot where not a soul will hear you scream should you have the urge.”

“That’s very good.” She said with a happy smile. “And believe me darling, I am a very naughty little mate to you because I know that I am able to be free with you. I know that with the two of you I will always be able to be as free as I can be and you will just eat it up. Am I wrong?” She had gotten to know her mates well in the last days, and loved them even more now than she did before.

“You are not wrong, but just remember, when others are around I’m way overprotective.” He bit her earlobe, hard enough to be a reprimand, gentle enough to be a sexual chess move. “I’m going to bend you over and fuck you hard. I’m going to drill your pretty pussy with my cock until you beg me to stop, to let you cum. And then I’m going to drill you some more until you are begging for mercy and then, only then, will I let you cum.”

She shivered in reaction. No one had ever talked to her like that before. Ever. And she loved it. “Please.” It was only a whisper of a sound, one of pure need and one that he would damn sure react to. She needed. She wanted. She had to have him. Had to, needed to. “Now?” She begged.

His chuckle stroked along her already wired nerve endings. “Not yet, sweetheart.” Sliding his hands up her arms he moved them up and around his neck. “We still have a dance to finish. And since they seem to be playing this just for us I don’t think we should waste a moment. We will go into the woods in a moment and then you can have my cock, but for now, I want this with you.”

That had her melting. When he spoke like this she couldn’t deny him anything, ever. “Oh I love how that sounds.” She moaned. “A lot.” A full body shiver raced down her spine. “I think we should totally do that. I look forward to that, running off with you into the night.”

“And we will, soon enough,” he promised, his voice a silky heat running through her body. He pulled her impossibly closer as they moved to the dreamy music. His lips brushed little kisses over her cheek, jaw and neck. His hands warm weight pressed to her back, keeping her to him as they moved along in little circles.

Jett moved with him as if in a dream. This was heaven to her. The feeling of him holding her as he was, the knowledge that he was truly hers. She loved him all the more for it. She adored him for giving her this pleasure, this happiness.

Only when the band went back to something fast paced did she notice that he’d been steadily working them off the area designated as the dance floor. “Let’s go for that walk,” he said softly. He didn’t let her go, not until he’d backed her even further into the woods. Only when they were away from the majority of the Pack did he let her loose and take her hand in his.

Hand in hand Jett and Carver left the party. They left so that they could have their walk and she enjoyed it very much. Looking up at him with a smile she winked. “I’m very, very happy to have you with me. Just so you know.”

“Me too, Jett,” he grinned at her. “So, I have to ask, since I’m been
trying to figure this out since we met. Just where did your mother get your very unique names from? First and middle I mean. I’ve heard of Valeria before, but can’t recall the origins but Jett is brand new to me.”

“Jett,” She grinned and shook her head. “When she had me she and dad were in a Jet flying to London. Honest to God. Crazy I know, but there it is. I came nearly six weeks early, and that’s why they named me Jett. Valeria is a family name from my father’s side.” She explained to him happily.

“Makes perfect sense to me,” he nodded. “No flying during pregnancy. I don’t think I could survive knowing what you might decide to call any kid we have during mid-air delivery. Plus, that’s just plain scary to think about, not exactly a fun time but it does explain a little more about your father.”

“Like I said, he did love my mother. He loved her more than you can ever possibly know.” She whispered. “Her death was a huge blow to him.” She shrugged and added, “I think that’s part of why he’s so determined to see me marry who he wants me to marry.” But thankfully fate had something else in mind. “However I am very, very happy that you are mine.”

“Me too, sweetheart,” he said softly. Letting her hand go he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and drew her in closer to him. “I like the idea that he was protecting you but he knows as well as anyone that you can’t fuck around with the Gods and their mate choices. He’ll be paying for that mistake for a while to come.”

“This is very true. One can’t stand in the way of the choices that the Gods make for us each and everyone. I personally am very, very pleased with the choices that the Gods made for us.” Jett assured him with a smile. “Just saying.”

“I am as well, even if it includes fang boy,” he grinned down at her. “He definitely makes an interesting addition to our trio. Which I think is a good thing, we need to have a well-balanced group otherwise we’d be at one another's throats all the time.”
