Katie climbed to her feet and gave Summer a light poke in the shoulder. She practically skipped to the front of the store, humming some tune.

“Happy young lady you’ve got working for you,” Carter noted.

Summer nodded, sparing him a glance that shot her hormones haywire. She shifted against the bench, the hard surface doing little to block the rattling throb in her clit or stave the moisture running through her slit. When Carter straddled the bench beside her, the air around her compressed, and her thoughts turned to nothingness. The only clear image she could produce was Carter swiping clean her workbench, throwing her down on the surface, and loving every inch of her.

  “You okay, angel?”

Summer blinked, the trembling flowers slipping through her fingers coming into focus. Lava heat spread up her neck and pooled in her cheeks. She cleared her throat, gaining a solid hold on the flowers, and flashed Carter a smile. Despite his low-riding cowboy hat—she loved him in his cowboy hat—she recognized that glint in his breathtaking eyes, the one that always made her suspect he knew just what she was thinking.

That damn half grin that teased the edges of his dimple didn’t help either. To lick that grin off those sinful lips…

Summer grabbed wire and bound the bottoms of the stems together. “I’m great.” She needed to keep her hands busy because they itched to be all over the man sitting way too close to her. “I know you and Braden can’t possibly be done. It’s only ten.”

“We have another few hours to go. Aiming to be finished by two, then we’ll head over here if you still need help,” Carter said.

“I should be good. Katie’s been helpin’ out a good share.” She cast the young woman a shaded glance. She was on the phone behind the counter, back to her and Carter. Laying the corsage down, she met Carter’s undeterred gaze. Big mistake. “You’re gonna cause a lot of unnecessary questions comin’ here without Braden.”

“I’m not afraid of questions, and gossip never bothered me.” Carter leaned in close, the tip of his cool nose brushing hers. “You know I always loved bringing you out. I was always humbled that you wanted me, and I couldn’t help myself to show you off and make it known you were mine. Bet you Braden does the same. Neither one of us are going to change that, so if you’re up for two, better be able to handle two.”

Summer closed her eyes, anticipating his mouth. Instead, she got a sharp brush of warm breath that drew her to open her eyes. Carter slid a small, rectangular tan box across the table to come and sit in front of her. A gold ribbon adorned it. She looked at him, her brow wrinkling.

  “What’s this?” she asked.

Carter climbed to his feet, and that damn bone-melting smile appeared on his mouth. Summer held her breath, not trusting the uneven gasps to keep her head together.

  “A little gift for you.”

He lifted her chin with his finger, treating her to a delightful stroll along the path of buttons that led to the V in his flannel shirt and the taunting shadows of muscle that lay beneath. He had shaven today, the hard cuts of his strong jaw prominent and masculine, the scar along his cheek making him more handsome than ever. He brushed his thumb over her bottom lip before leaning down and pressing a chaste kiss to her lips. One that burned with untasted hunger and promised her of much, much more to come.

His mouth traced along her cheek and paused against her ear. The brim of his hat brushed her head. His breath caressed the shell of her ear. His teeth scraped her lobe, sending a flood of chills down her body. She pressed her lips together to hold in the moan that threatened to come out and definitely elicit questions from Katie, who was still rightfully keeping her back turned to them.

“I know you’ll love it, angel.” The cool tips of his fingers slowly traced the line of her collarbone beneath her sweater then curled back up the length of her throat. Her nipples responded, pearling against her lace bra. “Damn, Summer.” He straightened up, drawing his hand from her flaring skin. She drew in a ragged breath, her eyes dropping to the hard bulge in his jeans. Her jaw tightened, her mouth dampening with a burning urge to see, feel, taste his cock again. “You were the only woman who ever succeeded in breaking me.”

“And you were the only man who ever succeeded in breaking me.” Summer pressed a finger to her chest and caught his eye. Pain flashed across those sky blues. His lips turned down. “Here.”

“I know sorry isn’t good enough. I’ll do anything and everything to make every hurt up to you.” He gently took her hand, cradling it like a fragile object he feared he would break. His lips pressed a delicate kiss to her fingertips. “I promise you, Summer. I swear. I will do everything.”

He lowered her hand to the table and headed toward the door. Summer watched him leave, her eyes drifting down his solid frame to the twin mounds of perfect ass sitting in his jeans. She toyed with the ribbon on the box, curious to see what he brought her, but more compelled to watch Carter.

At the door, he paused and tipped his hat to Katie. She wiggled her fingers in a wave, then went back to jotting down an order. Carter pressed his finger to his lips. Summer mirrored the motion that gave a sharp tug to her heartstrings.

“Oh, I’d wait until you leave to open that.” He winked and left the shop.

“What a way to tempt me,” she murmured, slipping the ribbon to one end of the box. She lifted the side of the lid enough to peek what was inside, and immediately snapped the lid back in place. Every damn nerve in her body sizzled out of control, heat pouring over every inch of her skin.

Katie hung up the call and tore the order form from the pad. Summer nearly dropped the box as she slid it under her leg, hoping the younger woman didn’t guess what Carter was talking about. As Katie rounded the front counter, she tapped her pen on her chin, her brows lifted.

“So everythin’ is the same as it’s been, hmm?” Katie teased as she approached Summer with a bounce in her step, her hands behind her back. Summer shook her head, breaking free of the spell Carter placed over her, and took to her work with a focused vengeance. Katie dropped the newest order on the table with an envelope. “Momma’s pictures of your goods.” She gave her a playful nudge in the shoulder. “I don’t think ‘same’ is the case.”

“Think what you will, everythin’s the same.”

“I’ll think the exact opposite, Miss Summer, ‘cause the reflection in the window doesn’t lie.”

  Chapter Fifteen

Summer stood in front of the mirror, turning one way, then the other, making sure every detail was in exact order. Her entire body hummed with life she hadn’t felt in so long. She was excited, anxious, scared to find out what would happen tonight, how things would end up tomorrow, how broken or how complete her heart would feel at the end.

Her cell phone vibrated on the bedside table. She pressed the button and lit up the screen, reading Braden’s text. Ready, baby? She replied a short yes and slipped her phone in her purse. Stealing a peek through the closed curtains, she watched the living room light in Carter’s house go out. She shifted, her heart beating so fast. She dropped the curtain in place and returned to the mirror.

“I’m gonna tease you boys as much as you’re plannin’ on teasin’ me,” she murmured, smoothing down the knee-length skirt. She twisted, glancing over her backside, making sure they wouldn’t be able to see the garter straps through the black suede. Her cream colored sweater hugged her, the V framing her cleavage as an amber pendant settled at the top of the valley. Her hair was a mass of fat curls, her makeup light but sultry, her stiletto pumps accentuating her black-stocking legs.

Perfect. She gave away a little skin, but hid the rest. Carter always loved peeling each item of clothing from her to see what was beneath. Braden, on the other hand, took little heed to the shell, tearing it off and indulging in her lingerie.

Both were wicked men in bed. The tiny butterfly vibrator nestled between her pussy lips against her clit was a hot reminder, her gift from Carter. Braden left her a small token as well, a dozen red roses on
the dining room table, several flameless candles framing the roses. Her gaze drifted toward the table and she swallowed. A pair of leather-lined handcuffs, a long, leather paddle, and a satin blindfold accompanied by a note that instructed her not to touch anything but imagine what will happen later.

And at the bottom of the note it read: Choose your favorite plug, baby, and make sure you’re wearing it.

Yes, her ass was full, hugging tightly to the plug she had chosen from their little treasure chest of toys. “Not sure I want dinner anymore.” Summer smiled. “I’m cravin’ dessert.”

Her phone vibrated again. Summer slipped into her coat and wrapped a scarf around her neck, gathered her purse, and made her way out to start the night.

Braden greeted her at the passenger side of Colt’s truck with a kiss to her cheek. “You’re lookin’ good enough to eat.” His hand cupped her ass and gave her a tight squeeze, jerking her flush against him. She gasped and splayed her hands over his chest, absorbing the heat radiating off his body. He snickered. “I’ll be eating you later, baby. Hop in.”

Braden released her and she climbed into the truck, settling down beside Carter. Once Braden closed the door, Carter backed out of the driveway and headed down the road. Summer sat in the electric silence, her pussy muscle clenched, drinking in the details of the two handsome cowboys crowding her. The air was humming with a hungry sexual charge, making her squirm in her own skin.

Both men were dressed nice. Carter wore black jeans, Braden dark blue. Carter wore a gray thermal sweatshirt, Braden a white button-down. Hats were left off, hair done perfectly. Carter and Braden both exuded sexual prowess, reverting her thoughts back to the bondage toys on display in the apartment.

“Where are we headin’?” Summer asked, glancing back and forth, looking for a sign of who might hold the remote to the vibrator hugging her clit. Neither of them hid their hands, and the butterfly remained quiet, for now.

“Braden said there’s a new steakhouse next town over,” Carter said. He smiled over at her. “You look beautiful.”

  “Scorchin’,” Braden added.

“I think the two of you are overheatin’ this monster truck,” Summer said. “And to heat things up a bit more, I’m gonna add a rule to this evenin’. Since you two have adorned me with gifts, my gift to you is that neither of you are allowed to touch me until we get home tonight.”

Carter’s smile vanished and he shot her a disbelieving look. She flashed him a snarky smile and turned to Braden to find a very similar expression covering his face.

“Oh, but I’m allowed to touch you boys as much as I want,” she added.

“Hell no,” Braden said. “That ain’t fair.”

Summer grabbed his cock through his jeans and rolled her fingers over the hardening member. “No? You two are plannin’ to play with my pussy at your whim and I can’t play with your cocks at my whim? Hmm, I can just as easily take the thing off—”

“You’ve got a deal, angel. We won’t touch you, you can touch us, but,” Carter turned her chin to him and quickly dropped his hand on the steering wheel. He stopped the truck in the middle of the road and leveled his gaze with her. “You are not allowed to orgasm when that vibrator’s going off. If you do, you’ll be suffering later tonight.”

Summer’s lips curled up in a small smile. Ooo, she liked this game. She liked anything that had to do with dismissing propriety when she had to be proper all day long. This was so much like Carter to hold the dominant rein, so much like Braden to deliver her punishment, so much like her to love each minute until she took over.

“I love your promise,” Summer whispered, and sat back in the seat. Crossing her knees, she pulled her hand away from Braden’s stiff cock and asked, “Did you two do anything…interesting today?”

  “Such as?” Braden pressed.

“Such as get messy in the barn? Have somethin’ special to drink?”

Carter laughed, reaching for her. He quickly paused and drew his hand away. Summer had all day to ponder the idea of Carter and Braden holding an acute fondness for each other. Yes, she was shocked last night. She would never have seen it coming in all these years. Neither Carter nor Braden seemed the type. The more she thought about it, the more she adjusted to the idea, even if her thoughts were selfish and greedy. She’d have the two men she loved, and they could continue to love each other. She would live in these precious moments, not anticipating the forever that Mandy got with Brody and Craig. God only knew if Carter planned on skipping town again.

“Did we pique your interest last night?” Carter asked, guiding the truck down the back roads of Ryder.

“Yeah, you did.” Summer turned her nails toward her and glanced over her polish, keeping her attention off the boys. “So?”

“We were talkin’ about what we’re gonna be doin’ later. Wouldn’t want to leave you out of the fun,” Braden said.

“Ah, so I’m gonna get to watch?”

  “Do you want to?”

Summer glanced up at Braden from beneath her lashes and shrugged a shoulder. “Perhaps.”

“Carter sucked my cock last night. Wanna see somethin’ like that?”

Summer shifted her attention to Carter. He was chuckling under his breath. “You sucked him off last night?”

“Do you suck him off?” Carter asked. Summer licked her lips. “Thought so. And knowing you, you swallow him down until he comes.” He leaned toward Summer and in a low, gravel tone, added, “Does that bother you?”

Summer shook her head, unable to tear her gaze from his mouth. A mouth so wicked and sensual that knew exactly what to do to make her toes curl and her mind explode, and apparently knew how to make her boyfriend come too.

“Not at all.” Surprisingly, the words came naturally. Snugly seated between these two men seemed natural. To hell with taboo, having to choose between one or the other was unnatural.

If Brody, Craig, and Mandy can be happily engaged, why can’t I be happy with Carter and Braden?

They arrived at the restaurant a half hour later. The ride was filled with talk about the ranch and repairs that Carter was going to do to the house. Summer skated around the topic of sex and any innuendos, not trusting herself to suffer through the teasing.

The hostess led them to a square table in the center of the dining room. Summer looked around, noticing several empty booths and tables in less obvious places.

Summer pointed toward a booth. “Umm, could we possibly get one of those tables—”

“This is perfect,” Carter interrupted, a hint of warning to his tone. He held Summer’s gaze steady. Braden pulled out her chair and slipped her coat off. She slowly lowered herself onto the seat, unable to look away from Carter until he broke eye contact. He gave the hostess a charming smile and settled into his seat. Braden took the last two menus from the hostess. Summer held out her hand, waiting for one, but he shook his head.

“We’re doin’ the orderin’,” Braden said. Summer’s brow cinched.

  “But—”

“Huh-uh, honey,” Carter said, and tsked. “You need to behave yourself. Just sit back and let us do the work.”

Summer dropped her hands into her lap, weaving her fingers together tightly. She watched as Carter and Braden silently skimmed over the menus. As time ticked by, Summer’s attention drifted to the other customers, duly noting a few tables she recognized from her shop or from town. One elderly couple kept casting them looks before resuming their conversation. Boy, did those booths look real tempting right now.

When the server came by, Carter and Braden placed their order, as well as hers, and chose a top-line bottle of red wine.

“I think you ordered way too much food,” Summer said. Braden unfolded his napkin and laid it across his lap. Carter took a healthy drink from his water glass and leaned his elbows on the table.

“We discussed rules of this evening, one being that you are not allowed to orgasm at any time until we say so,” Carter said, keeping his voice low. Summer felt the
warmth in her cheeks. “Control, angel. Control. Remember, we’re sitting where everyone can see us. See you.”

  Summer groaned. “Damn doms.”

Braden laughed, settling back in his chair. “Damn right, baby doll.” The server returned to the table with their wine.

“Here we are,” the young man said, holding the bottle for Carter to see the label. He leaned closer to the bottle.

The powerful vibration caught her completely off guard. Summer gasped, the burst of shock quickly melting into a mounting reservoir of pleasure. She curled her fingers around the sides of her chair and swallowed, daring to look up at the server. His attention shot back to Carter, but his focus had turned away from the bottle and landed on her. His gaze pierced her about as much as the steady vibrations against her swollen clit speared her thoughts.

Braden appeared as calm and interested as Carter, those slate eyes turning into cloudy windows. Summer bit down on her bottom lip, fighting the urge to give into the pulsating delight that racked her pussy. Moisture seeped out of her cunt, drenching her seam. She leaned back in the chair and held her breath, trying to focus her attention on the server as he poured out the wine. That fiery heat licked and danced around her lower belly, honing in on her clit, her nerves so damn stimulated and ready to rupture.

Summer blinked rapidly, grappling for grounding. She was being propelled up, up, up, approaching that one way peak at lightning speed.

The vibrations ceased, but the throb in her clit didn’t subside nearly as quick. She controlled her gasps for breath, bracing her head on her hand until she regained her composure.

“Now you know what to expect,” Braden said. “I’d venture to say that server was watchin’. You were squirmin’ so unladylike, baby.”

“The first time, you could’ve warned me,” Summer said on a breath. She lowered her hand from her face. Braden’s eyes had darkened more, carnal hunger stalking the perimeters of his expression.

“Summer, I think we should toast,” Carter said. He lifted his wine glass and held it toward the center of the table. Summer and Braden followed suit. “To second chances and new beginnings.”
