Worst Case Scenario

“Calm down fam. Raising your pressure won’t make her pick up the phone,” Carlton noted.

“I’m going make a food run right quick. You good?” Gavin asked him.

“Yeah, I’m straight,” Carlton replied. As soon as Gavin walked out of the shop, Corey started up with the questions.

“What Stori is that nigga talking about?” Corey asked.

“What other Stori do you know?” Carlton countered.

“She fuck with that fake ass nigga?” Corey wanted to know.

He always saw Gavin when he came into the shop and he rubbed him the wrong way from day one. Corey always saw him with Nas and that’s who he had his eyes on. Corey made it his business to know everybody who had money and Nas was one of them. He knew that Nas and his brother owned a strip club but he knew that they were into more than just that. They were known to be crazy and unpredictable, which was the only reason why he never tried them. Not yet at least.

  “That’s her husband,” Carlton noted.

“The fuck do she even see in his stupid looking ass? She couldn’t handle a thug like me.” Corey frowned.

All those years later and he was still salty about Stori breaking up with him. Stori was even more beautiful now than she was before but she barely acknowledged him. She spoke when she saw him but she wasn’t giving up no conversation.

“Not every woman wants a thug. Some of them actually want a real man,” Carlton said.

“I’m as real as they get nigga. Fuck you mean,” Corey snapped.

Carlton just shook his head and ignored him. Corey would never change and, sadly, neither would his two younger brothers.

Nas smiled when he pulled up to the house and saw Toi and her two friends outside dancing. They had their speaker on the sidewalk but it wasn’t up too loud. He pulled his car into the garage and headed inside soon after. It was six that evening and he had been out handling business all day. He didn’t even go to the barber shop because he didn’t have time.

“Hey boo. How did everything go?” Stori asked as soon as he walked into the living room. She was stretched out on the sofa watching tv wearing nothing but a t-shirt.

“Everything is taken care of. Me and Remo are officially the new owners of the barber shop.” Nas smiled as he kicked off his shoes and laid down on the sofa next to her. Mr. Herbert showed mad love with the price that he sold the shop for. Nas and Remo paid him in full and he was happy about that. The money didn’t even put a dent in their bank account and it would take no time to replace it.

“Congrats boo. I’m so happy for y’all,” Stori replied with a genuine smile.

“I told you baby, you’re my good luck charm. Shit has been looking up for me since we got together. My credit score is going up and my record is about to be clean. All I’m waiting for now is the results from the DNA test. Did the mail come yet?” Nas asked as Stori’s smile faded.

“I don’t want you to get your hopes up too high Naseem. We already talked about that and you know that the results can go either way. My gut is telling me that we won’t receive any good news,” Stori replied.

“Your gut ain’t telling you shit. You had that fucked up ass dream and you’ve been having negative thoughts since then,” Nas said, calling her out.

An entire week had passed and they still hadn’t heard anything from the lab regarding their test results. The technician told Stori that they would either receive something by mail or a phone call from the lab. Stori had a dream three days after the procedure was done that had her shook up and afraid. She dreamt that they’d received a call from the lab saying that Nas was not the baby’s father. She broke down crying in her dream and she woke up sweating with tears falling from her eyes. She’d been paranoid ever since then and not knowing for sure only made it worse. She was officially three months now and the guilt of aborting her baby was starting to eat at her. The longer she waited, the harder it became. Nas had her taking prenatal vitamins and that only added to her stress. She was giving nourishment to a baby that she wasn’t even sure that she was going to keep. It didn’t help that she was beginning to show. It just seemed so wrong and cruel to even go through with terminating the pregnancy now.

“I know but it seemed so real. I wonder what’s taking them so long with the results,” Stori sighed.

“Why can’t you just have the baby Stori? I don’t give a fuck who the daddy is,” Nas replied.

“But, I do. You promised Naseem. Don’t try to go back on your word now,” Stori said.

“I’ll never do that. My word is law,” Nas assured her right as her phone rang.

“So fucking disgusting,” Stori huffed as she silenced her ringer.

  “Who is that?” Nas asked.

“That’s Gavin’s annoying ass,” Stori replied.

“The fuck is he still calling you for? I thought you gave him all his shit,” Nas said.

“I did but he said that he left his folder with his birth certificate and stuff at the top of the closet,” Stori replied. She didn’t answer for Gavin but she did listen to his messages.

“Fuck him. He should have told his mama to get it when she came to get the rest of his shit.” Nas frowned.

“I really don’t care about nothing that has to do with Gavin. I’m so damn lazy now. I didn’t even cook anything. As soon as my last client left, I laid down and haven’t gotten up since,” Stori yawned.

“I don’t know how it’s even possible but that ass is getting fatter. Shit is just ridiculously big and I’m in love like a muthafucker,” Nas said as he smacked her ass.

“Naseem stop!” Stori laughed when he bit down on her ass cheeks.

“Stop trying to fight me when you know you want it,” he said as he pulled off her underwear.

“Naseem nooo! Toi is right outside,” Stori said as she stopped him from burying his face between her legs.

Nas was nasty as hell. He spread her ass cheeks wide and ran his tongue along her crack. He didn’t listen to her protest and he dove in between her legs head first anyway. Stori grabbed the back of his head and moaned as he sucked her clit up into his mouth. She kept watching the door to make sure Toi didn’t bust up in there and catch them in the act. She was having a hard time enjoying her man because she was on edge.

“Let me bring your scary ass upstairs,” Nas laughed when he saw how nervous she was.

Stori held on tight as he carried her upstairs with his face still nestled in between her legs. Once he laid her on the bed, he undressed himself and she pulled her t-shirt over her head. When Nas got in the bed and sat her on his face, she flipped her body upside down so that they were in the position to please each other. Stori took him into her mouth and had him sounding like a soprano a short time later.

“Who’s scary nigga?” Stori bragged, as Nas yelled her name.

“Not you baby. You ain’t never scared,” Nas said as he gripped the sheets tighter.

He alternated between singing her praises and trying to please her as much as she was pleasing him. His dick stroked the inside of Stori’s mouth as she attempted to swallow him whole.

“Fuuuuck!” Nas hissed as his dick hit the back of Stori’s throat.

He was gone and there was no coming back. He was picturing what kind of ring he was going to put on Stori’s finger. It didn’t matter that they were both still married. He was ready to break the law and make her his wife. She was too perfect and he couldn’t imagine his life without her in it. When he felt himself about to cum, he pulled Stori up and turned her around. Stori got in the squatting position and lowered herself onto his erection. Nas grabbed her breasts as she threw her head back and started riding him like a cowgirl.

“Damn baby,” he groaned while his teeth gritted in pleasure.

“You like that boo?” Stori asked as she bounced up and down.

“Hell yeah,” Nas moaned as he smacked her ass repeatedly.

Stori’s hands were on his chest as she hopped up and down faster. Their moans bounced off the walls
, along with the sound of their skin slapping. Nas was begging her not to stop and Stori didn’t plan on it.

“Ahh!” Stori screamed when her hair was pulled from behind.

“The fuck!” Nas yelled when their connection was broken.

“Bitch! You’re fucking my friend!” Gavin yelled as he stood there with wide eyes and a shattered heart.

Death had to feel better than how he was feeling. He was already in hell after seeing his wife fucking his best friend in a bed that they once shared. Gavin left the shop with the intentions of going to get food. When he tried calling Stori again and didn’t get an answer, he decided to just pop up on her like he did before. He saw Toi walking across the street with her friends as soon as he turned on their block. He intended to enter the house through Stori’s shop but it was already closed. When he walked up on the porch, he knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. Since that never happened, he turned the knob and walked right in. The tv was on in the front room but that wasn’t what got his attention. Gavin noticed a pair of men’s shoes sitting right there in the middle of the floor. It wasn’t just any kind of shoes though. It was the same shoes that he’d admired on Nas’ feet not too long ago. The shoes were popular, so he didn’t want to overthink it. They could have belonged to anyone, he reasoned with himself.

Gavin felt weak as he headed up the stairs to look for Stori. He heard the moaning clearly but he didn’t want to believe it. His best friend and the love of his life being intimate was not something that he even wanted to think about. When he opened the door, his worst fears had been confirmed and he couldn’t think rationally. He grabbed Stori by her hair and pulled her away from Nas. Seeing her with no clothes on confirmed something else for him too. Stori was still pregnant. Having sex with another man while pregnant with his baby infuriated him even more. Gavin was out of it but a hard punch to the face snapped him back to reality. Nas hit him so hard that he went falling to the tiled floor. He didn’t stop there though. He hit Gavin three more times before Stori intervened. Gavin was too distraught to even fight back. He knew that he wouldn’t have won anyway.

“Bitch ass nigga! You must be trying to die in here today,” Nas stood over him and fumed. He was butt ass naked trying to fight like he wasn’t wrong.

“Baby no, please,” Stori said as she pulled his arm. She grabbed her robe from the chair in her room to cover herself up. Gavin had seen her naked more times than he could count so that was a waste. It was an insult that she felt more comfortable around another man than she did with her own husband.

“Baby?” Gavin asked incredulously. Stori had never called him baby or any other names other than his own. That shit hurt him more than she knew.

“You good baby?” Nas asked as he walked over to her and caressed her small baby bump.

“Yeah, I’m okay,” Stori replied, right before Nas placed a soft kiss on her lips.

“Are you serious right now Stori?” Gavin asked angrily.

“Just leave Gavin. You shouldn’t have even come here,” Stori replied as she watched him get up from the floor.

“I know I messed up Stori but that’s how you do me? Huh? My fucking best friend,” Gavin fumed.

“Nigga, I’m not your muthafucking friend! Check your mental rolodex. When have you ever heard me refer to you as such?” Nas questioned as he slipped on his boxers.

Gavin didn’t even have to think very hard. Nas had never referred to him as anything more than an associate. Still, no one could have paid him to believe that he would go behind his back and sleep with his wife.

“That’s fucked up Stori. I can’t believe that you’re fucking another nigga while you’re pregnant with my baby,” Gavin said as he tried his best to remain calm.

“That’s my fucking baby nigga. It’s mine even if you are the daddy. And stop addressing my girl. Whatever you have to say, direct that shit to me!” Nas bellowed.

Talking to him was what Gavin was trying to avoid. Nas was reminding him so much of Remo and Gavin had never felt that way about him before. Any hope of reconciling with Stori was dead now. Nas looked like he had caught feelings for her already. Gavin knew that Nas and Milan had separated but he was unsure about when he started dealing with Stori.

“Maybe you didn’t consider me a friend but I thought we were better than that. You know better than anybody how much I love my wife. I confided in you and you turned around and fucked over me like this,” Gavin said angrily.

“That’s your whole problem now. You talk too muthafucking much. What kind of grown ass man talks to another nigga about what his wife does in the bedroom? You made me want her even more than I already did. Shit, you gave me a key to the house and the code to the alarm to come get her.” Nas shrugged uncaringly.

“Is that my baby Stori?” Gavin asked while ignoring what Nas had just said. The truth hurt and everything that Nas said was real. His mouth was always his downfall and it had been that way since he was a child.

“Don’t answer that nigga baby. Give him what he came for so he can get the fuck on,” Nas replied.

Stori went to the closet and grabbed Gavin’s folder, as Nas put his jeans and shirt back on. She felt bad about how everything went down but she did owe Gavin some answers. She didn’t care about how he felt about her being with Nas but he had a right to know about her unborn baby.

“I don’t know if this is your baby or not but I will soon,” Stori said as she handed Gavin his folder.

“What does that even mean?” Gavin asked.

“We had a test done to determine paternity,” Stori said as she opened her nightstand drawer and handed Gavin one of the papers that she got from the lab. It explained the procedure that she had done and everything that he needed to know was on it.

“Why didn’t you call me to be tested too?” Gavin inquired.

“Naseem was already tested so you don’t have to be. You’re the only two that I was with when I conceived. If he’s not the father, then we know that you are,” Stori said as she looked away in shame.

“Wow. You made me feel like shit for being with Misty but you were no better than I was,” Gavin said as he looked at her in disgust.

She wasn’t proud of what she’d done and she never intended to hurt Gavin. She was angry about him fathering a child with Misty but she wasn’t trying to play catch back with him. She really was attracted to Nas and she had been since the first time she laid eyes on him. She suppressed those feelings when she was with Gavin because she honored her vows. Once it was over between them, she decided to make herself happy for a change. As fucked up as it was, Naseem made her happy. Stori could admit that she moved on way too fast but it was too late for regrets.

“It’s time for you to go my nigga. You got what you came here for, so make this your last time popping up over here. Consider this your first and last warning. I can’t be responsible for what I’ll do the next time around.” Nas frowned.

“Is that supposed to be a threat?” Gavin challenged.

“Nah nigga, that’s a guarantee,” Nas replied.

“You might scare them other niggas but ain’t no hoe in my blood. I’m not afraid of you,” Gavin said, trying to sound more confident than he felt.

“Yes, you are. You’re afraid of me for more reasons than one. Not only will I bust my guns at the drop of a dime but I’ll do that shit in broad daylight with a bunch of witnesses around. My don’t give a fuck game is strong and I’m the worst kind of nigga for you to go to war with. You’re a pussy but niggas like you get false courage when they’re pushed to the limit. I took the one thing from you that you had going for yourself. Without Stori on your arm, you’re just as lame as everybody always said you were,” Nas smirked as he walked closer to him.

“Baby, stop,” Stori begged as she walked over to him and grabbed his arm. She was pleading with her eyes for Nas to let it go. The situation was already awkward and she just wanted it to be over with.

“I’m good my love. I’m just about to wal
k our guest out,” Nas replied with a mug on his face.

Gavin walked out of the bedroom with Nas and Stori following behind him. Stori didn’t want them fighting and acting a fool in front of Toi. More than likely, she had gone across the street by her friends when Gavin walked into the house. Still, she was probably back out front by now or she would be soon.

Gavin stormed out of the front door and to his truck. He sped away from Stori’s house and made his tires burn rubber when he did. His heart was full and he couldn’t even think straight. Gavin’s hands were shaking so bad that he had to pull his car over to the side of the road. He was bound to have an accident if he kept going.

“Fuck!” he yelled as he pounded the steering wheel and let the tears that he’d been holding in spill from his eyes.

At that moment, Gavin hated everyone. He hated Nas and Stori for betraying him and he hated Misty for starting the downward spiral in his life. He even hated his parents for making him an only child and not giving him siblings that he could lean on in his time of need. He needed money but he hated that he would have to work with and see Nas every day just to get it. Gavin’s parents weren’t used to having him living with them and he hated it just as much as they did. That was the only reason why they agreed to pay his first three months of rent and deposit. His mother had even agreed to purchase him a living and bedroom set. That was a huge help but he still needed to keep his money flowing. He wasn’t about to let Nas run him away from making his money. If he wanted smoke, Gavin would give him some. He wasn’t a fighter or a shooter but he wasn’t a punk either. With the way he was feeling, Nas could catch a few bullets and Stori could too.

“I ’m here bro. Where you at?” Remo said when Nas answered the phone for him.

“I’m on my way nigga. I was sleep.” Nas yawned.

“That’s all the fuck you do now. Did you even go to work today?” Remo asked him.

“Nope and I probably won’t be there tomorrow either,” Nas replied.
