“That’s good for her stupid ass. You got this fuck boy coming at my brother on some bullshit and look at how dirty he did you.” Remo frowned.
“Fuck both of you niggas. I’m too real to beg anybody for anything, including my life. Do what the fuck you came here to do,” Corey barked angrily.
“With pleasure my nigga,” Nas replied as he aimed the gun at his head and let off two shots. The first shot probably killed him but Nas wasn’t taking any chances. Corey talked all that shit but his eyes told the real story. He was afraid and he had every reason to be.
“Ahhh!” Milan screamed, as Corey’s lifeless body slumped across her bed.
“The fuck you making all that noise for dummy? You should be happy that the nigga is dead after what he was in here doing to you,” Remo snapped.
“Why didn’t you just leave like your sister did Milan? I gave you more than one chance to back off but you just couldn’t let the shit go,” Nas said while shaking his head.
“I’m so sorry Naseem. I’ll leave tonight, I swear. You’ll never see or hear from me again. Just… please. Please don’t kill me,” Milan cried as she begged for her life.
“I’m a savage but I do have a heart. You were my wife at one time Milan. I would never take your life and that’s a promise,” Nas assured her as he lowered his gun. Milan visibly relaxed as she watched him put the weapon in the waistband of his jeans. Nas made some kind of hand motions to Remo and he raised his gun and aimed it right at her head.
“Noooo!” Milan screamed, right before a single shot entered her head and silenced her cries.
“Stupid ass bitch must be on dope if she thought she was walking up out of here alive,” Remo spat angrily.
“Well, I kept my promise. I didn’t tell her that she wasn’t going to die. I just told her that I wouldn’t kill her.” Nas shrugged as he looked around the house.
Remo grabbed the gun that they’d used on Dame and Johnny and wrapped Corey’s hand around it. He knew exactly how the law worked. If they ran ballistics on it, Corey would be identified as the shooter. His prints would be the only ones on the weapon. But, just in case they didn’t, he threw a few bags of coke next to his body and a few on the floor. He was an expert at staging a crime scene, thanks to being a criminal all his life.
“Let’s roll bro,” Remo said once he was done.
He and Nas headed for the door until something else got their attention. When a small dog came from up until the table, Nas bent down and picked it up.
“Grab all that shit for me bro,” Nas said as he motioned to all the dog’s accessories that were on the floor.
“The fuck is you doing bruh?” Remo asked.
“Bringing home a surprise for Toi,” Nas replied.
Remo gathered all the dog’s belongings before he and Nas headed around the corner to the car that they had arrived in. For the moment, their problems were solved and they could breathe a little easier. Nas was over all the drama and so was Remo. They were married now and they were trying to be done with all that street shit. Nas had two kids to think about and he wanted to be there to see them grow up.
“Kalani missed her period,” Remo said out of the blue as Nas drove.
“Yeah! Congrats bro!” Nas replied excitedly with a big smile covering his face.
“Thanks bro but I hope it’s good news. I don’t want to get my hopes up and be disappointed,” Remo sighed.
“Nah bro. It’s good news, I can feel it,” Nas said.
“My nerves are bad as fuck too. We got like three tests but I’m too scared for her to take the shit. I’m never scared of nothing but finding out the results of my wife’s pregnancy test terrifies the hell out of me,” Remo rambled.
“Do it bro. We’ve solved the last of our problems for now and it’s time for a nigga to be happy. My boys are getting bigger and I don’t have time for the dumb shit no more. We’re finally seeing the kind of money that we want to see and life is lovely. Kalani being pregnant is just the final piece of the puzzle,” Nas said as they pulled up to the club.
“Alright bro. Keep your phone close by. I’m telling her to take the test as soon as I get home. Love you bruh,” Remo said as he leaned over the seat and gave his brother a hug.
“Love you too bro,” Nas replied before they got out of Bee’s car and got into their own.
It was late and Nas just wanted to cuddle up with his wife and relax. When he pulled up to the house, he saw that the light was on in their bedroom. Nas looked in on his boys and smiled at them sleeping peacefully. It still amazed him how much they looked like him and Remo. Stori carried them but that was all that she did. When Nas went down the hall to their bedroom, Stori jumped up from the bed and rushed over to him.
“Are you okay baby? Why did you leave your phone here? I was trying to call you,” Stori rambled as she walked over to him.
Nas smiled when she started undressing him like she always did. It was crazy that he was a grown ass man who was spoiled by his wife. Stori did everything that a wife was supposed to do and more. All Nas had to do was pay the bills because she did a great job of running the house.
“I’m good love,” Nas assured her with a kiss to the lips.
“What the hell is that?” Stori asked as she pointed to the dog and carrier that he had sat down on the floor.
“A gift for Toi. I guess her name is Fendi. That’s what all her stuff says.” Nas shrugged.
“Okay Naseem but where did it come from?” Stori questioned.
“Grab the baby monitor and let’s take a shower,” Nas requested.
Although Stori had already taken a shower, she followed her husband into the bathroom and prepared to take another one. Nas replayed the events of the night to her but Stori wasn’t surprised. Carlton’s wife had come through for them like she promised and got Milan’s address. Nas didn’t know how she did it and he really didn’t care.
“I know that it had to be done but I just want you and Remo to be safe,” Stori said once she and Nas were done showering. She dried Nas off before doing the same to herself.
“We’re good baby, I promise,” Nas assured her right as his phone started to ring.
“That’s Remo,” Stori said as she handed it to him. Nas was hoping for good news but not more than Remo. When he answered the phone, he already knew what was up.
“It’s positive nigga! I’m about to be a muthafucking daddy!” Remo yelled excitedly as Nas smiled.
“Congrats bro. I’m happy for you, nigga.” Nas said. Becoming a father was one of the best things that could have ever happened to him. He was happy that his brother was about to experience it too.
“I’ll call you tomorrow bro. I’m about to celebrate and get pissy drunk up in this bitch,” Remo said before he hung up the phone.
“What happened?” Stori asked.
“Kalani is pregnant,” Nas replied with a smile.
“I know. She took a test earlier because Remo kept stalling,” Stori laughed.
“I’m happy as fuck for that nigga. My bro is finally getting him a lil one,” Nas replied.
“Are you hungry baby? You want me to fix you something to eat?” Stori asked.
“No but you can come hop in the bed and make another baby with me,” Nas winked.
“We can do what it takes to make one but I pop my pills faithfully,” Stori replied.
She squealed when Nas picked her up and threw her in the bed. She tried not to think about what he told her in the shower but it was hard not to. She hated what happened to Milan and Corey but it had to be done. Stori knew that they would never have a moment’s peace as long as they were around. They were the ones who started the war. It was their own faults that they became casualties of it.
“ I hope you feel better boo,” Stori said as she talked on the phone with Kalani.
She and Remo were supposed to be meeting Stori and Nas at the restaurant but they cancelled at the last minute. Kalani was three months pregnant and morning sickness was kicking her as
s.
“Thanks friend. Bring the babies over here before y’all go home. Me and Remo want to see them. I’m going lay down for a little while,” Kalani replied before she hung up.
“That baby is fucking over sis,” Nas said as he grabbed a napkin from the table to wipe Nakeem’s face.
“I know the feeling,” Stori replied.
“Your fat ass know you be full and still be trying to eat,” Nas laughed as he fed Nakeem some more mashed potatoes.
The twins were seven months old now and their appetites were something serious. Stori gave up on breast feeding and the bottles didn’t even fill them up like they did before. When their doctor said that they could start eating some soft solid foods, that was the best news ever.
“Don’t feed his greedy ass no more. He should have had enough by now,” Stori fussed.
“I’m not starving my baby Stori. He’ll let me know when he’s had enough,” Nas replied.
“You know he’s only gonna start throwing up. They never get full and be throwing up when they get too stuffed,” Stori pointed out. Junior had stopped eating and was just sitting in the high chair looking around.
“That nigga better not throw up on me again,” Nas said as he stopped feeding him.
Stori wasn’t surprised when her son started kicking his little fat legs. At only seven months old, the twins were known to catch temper tantrums. Stori was shocked when it first happened but Nas thought it was funny. He would always tell them to calm down, as if they understood what he was saying. He didn’t like it when people did the baby talk thing and he was the only one who never did. He talked to them like he talked to anyone else and he swore that they understood him.
“Aww shit,” Stori said when her son started to have a fit.
“That’s enough Nakeem. Come on bruh. I know you should be full by now,” Nas said as he picked him up from the high chair.
When Junior started crying, Stori knew that it was time for them to go. She was happy that they had already eaten because she wouldn’t have been able to enjoy her food if they hadn’t.
“I hate when they do us dirty like that. It’s like one can’t even cry without the other one joining in,” Stori fussed.
“They got that twin shit down packed,” Nas laughed.
“Call for the bill and let’s go,” Stori said as she took Junior from his high chair. People were looking at them smiling but there was nothing cute about it. Two crying ass babies in a restaurant was not something to smile about.
“Aww man, this lil nigga got me again,” Nas said as Nakeem threw up on his hand and pants. Nakeem had on a bib that was now soaked with his vomit.
“I told you,” Stori laughed. She was happy that both babies had calmed down and wasn’t crying anymore.
“Why you do your daddy like that bruh?” Nas asked, making Nakeem laugh.
“Go clean him up. I’ll take care of the bill and meet you at the car,” Stori said as she handed her husband the baby’s bag.
Stori reached into her purse and pulled out enough money to cover the bill and tip. She grabbed Junior’s bag and headed out of the restaurant to her brand new Mercedes truck that Nas had just purchased for her. She was about to strap her son in his car seat when someone called her name. Stori was shocked when she turned around and saw Gavin standing there smiling at her.
“Damn, those babies really did your body good.” Gavin smiled as he licked his lips lustfully.
Gavin hadn’t seen Stori in a while but she looked good as hell. She seemed to have more curves than she did before and her ass was sitting up perfectly in her romper. She had her hair pulled back from her beautiful face with a pair of Gucci shades on top of her head. Gavin looked at her son and had to do a double take. He looked like a pint sized version of Nas with the same completion and curly hair. Jealousy consumed him as he continued to eye the baby’s features in awe. It was as if he was seeing Nas and Remo in the form of an infant.
It was Gavin’s first time being back in New Orleans since he first left. His parents had visited him and Summer a few times but he wanted to bring his girlfriend to his city since she’d never been before. Gavin was doing okay for himself in Texas but he wanted to be doing better. He found a job and was making decent money but it was nothing compared to what he used to make. He was stacking his money in hopes of having his own shop soon. He really didn’t want to work in a shop with anyone else. Unlike in New Orleans, Gavin wasn’t trying to make friends in Texas. He was cool with a few people but he never talked his business or hung out with anyone. After losing his wife and almost losing his life, he had definitely learned his lesson. Besides Summer, he spent most of his free time with his girlfriend.
New Orleans would always be home to him but not to live. He would never be safe there and he had good reason to feel that way. Nas and Remo were a different kind of crazy and he learned that the hard way. He was thankful to be alive but not everyone could say that.
Misty and her mother had to come down to identify Milan’s body but they had her remains shipped back to Texas and held her services there. Gavin wasn’t surprised to learn that Corey had been killed but he was shocked to know that they had been murdered together. He didn’t even have to wonder about who did it because he already knew. The police were calling it a drug deal gone wrong but he knew better. They were saying that Corey had a gun on him that was used in two recent murders but Gavin didn’t know if that was true or not. Because of that, he seriously doubted if the police were even looking for the murderers. Misty and her mother took it hard, even though they didn’t have the best relationship with Milan lately.
“Fuck off Gavin,” Stori snapped angrily, pulling him away from his thoughts.
“What’s with all the hostility? I was just coming to say hello,” Gavin said.
“If I were you, I’d be saying goodbye instead. I guess those bullets made you dumber than you were before,” Stori replied.
“It’s all good love. Your nigga and his punk ass brother ain’t the only ones with guns,” Gavin pointed out. He’d never shot a gun before in his life and he prayed that he never had to.
“Maybe not but, unlike you, they’re not afraid to use them. And get it right boo. He’s not my nigga, he’s my husband,” Stori corrected as she flashed her huge wedding ring.
Gavin already knew that they were married but that didn’t stop him from getting angry. Had anyone told him that Stori and Nas would be married with kids one day, he probably would have laughed in their face. Gavin didn’t foresee that outcome and he was blindsided by their relationship. He still had a hard time getting the image of them having sex out of his head. They were too comfortable with each other and that was what had him so baffled.
“I just need to know one thing Stori. The shit has been bothering me for a long time. No matter how many times I’ve tried to let it go, I just can’t,” Gavin rambled.
“What the hell are you talking about Gavin?” Stori asked as her face twisted in frustration.
“Were you dealing with Nas while the two of us were together? I know that it’s irrelevant now but I just need to know,” Gavin said.
“Although I didn’t love you like a wife was supposed to love her husband, I honored my vows. I was attracted to Nas the first day I saw him but I never once acted on those feelings until I knew for sure that I was done with you,” Stori replied.
Gavin’s feelings were hurt but he appreciated her honest reply. Had he known that his wife was attracted to the man that he’d once considered a friend, he would have never welcomed him into their home. He felt sick to his stomach as he thought back to some of the things that he’d told Nas in the past. Gavin basically opened Stori’s legs and invited Nas to come fuck her. He now knew better and he swore that he was going to do better. Still, he wasn’t about to give the woman that he still loved his blessing to be with a nigga who he now despised. Gavin didn’t want them to be happy and he wasn’t about to pretend that he did.
“What’s up lil man? Looking lik
e your fake ass daddy,” Gavin said as he touched Junior’s tiny hand.
“Five bullets later and you still don’t get it. I guess you want me to commit a murder in the presence of my sons, huh?” Nas questioned as he walked over to his wife’s truck. He strapped Nakeem in his car seat before he walked closer to Gavin. Nas was tall, so he folded his arms and looked down on the other man menacingly.
“Damn bruh, I never took you for the insecure type,” Gavin replied with a smirk.
“And I’ve never met a nigga who was begging to die. You can’t keep dancing with the devil and wonder why you’re still in hell. Don’t make your mama buy that black dress fam. You’re her only child and she doesn’t deserve that,” Nas threatened with a calm but deadly tone.
“Let it go baby. It’s not even worth it,” Stori said, as Gavin tried to swallow past the lump in his throat. It wasn’t Nas’ threat that had him shook. It was the fact that he knew he’d make good on it that had Gavin nervous.
“Dismiss your bitch sweetheart. I don’t want my sons exposed to fuck boys. That shit is contagious.” Nas frowned as he took Junior out of her arms and put him in the car.
“Get the fuck on somewhere Gavin. If you wanna commit suicide, just put a bullet in your own head. You of all people should know that stepping to my husband is punishable by death,” Stori snapped as a woman came walking over to them. She smiled at Stori before she turned her attention to Gavin.
“Hey baby. Are you ready to go?” Gavin’s girlfriend asked him. She was in the nail salon with his mother next door to the restaurant that Stori and Nas were in. Gavin had just stepped outside for a minute when he saw Stori walking to her car.
“Yeah, let’s go,” Gavin replied as he grabbed her hand and hurriedly walked away.
He’d had enough trouble with Nas in the past and he didn’t need any more. He should have known that Stori wasn’t by herself. According to their Instagram posts, she and Nas rarely did anything separately. They even worked together and had expanded the shop. They were making power couple moves and doing a damn good job.
