  Dom was getting ready to meet the demon, Jacu in the next town over. “I really think that it would be best if I talked to him.” I told Xavier and my brothers. They all looked at me like I lost my fucking mind. But something was telling me that I needed to be there. Xavier looked at me ready to disagree, but I needed him to have my back on this. “This is something that I feel like I have to do, Alpha. If you want, you can come along also and let Maxi and the rest of them stay here. But I need to go.” I pleaded with him. He stared at me and then nodded his head.

  “Alright. We are going. If there is any sign of trouble, you get your ass out of there. Do you hear me?” He said.

  “Yes, Alpha.” I answered and ran upstairs to get dressed. After I had on my clothes, Xoey came walking in the room with a doll that Ginell bought her.

  “Are you leaving, Mommy?” She said. I squatted down and looked her in the eye.

  “Yes, baby. Mommy will be back ok. Watch over everyone for me, ok.” I said and kissed her on the cheek.

  “I will, but Jacu wouldn’t hurt me. He is a protector. He wouldn’t hurt you either. I told him to come to the house. He should be here in a minute now.” She said with a smile. I looked at her and frowned. “No Xoey. You are not supposed to tell people that we are here.” I said and picked her up. I teleported downstairs to where the rest of the family was.

  “Xoey made contact with Jacu, somehow. She told him to come here.” I said, placing Xoey on her feet. Xavier’s eyes went white. He looked at a smiling Xoey and growled.

  “Xoey,” he said.

  “It’s ok Daddy. If he tries anything, I will kill him.” She said and hunched her shoulders like taking a life wasn’t shit. The door bell rung, interrupting whatever Xavier was about to say. “He’s here Daddy.” Xoey said walking out of the room.

  “Treasure, you and the rest of the ladies go out the back door and go into the other house.” Dom yelled. They all left, leaving Mimi with us. Nico and Elder Locklear stood from the table and walked to the entrance. I walked behind Xoey and scooped her jolly ass up. Xavier and Dom went to the door with Maxi following them. Nylah and Tyree was standing by my side. Xavier pulled the door opened.

  There was a man standing there with his hands up. He made contact with Dom and nodded his head. “I am here to help.” He said. Xavier growled at Jacu showing his teeth. Jacu looked at Xavier and shook his head.

  “Goddamn, y’all are some big muthafuckers. Is this one of your brothers?” He asked Dom.

  “Yes, he is. But he is also my sister’s mate.” Dom answered. Jacu looked back at Xavier and eased his hands down.

  “You are the father of the Princess.” Jacu said.

  “Yes, that is my father.” Xoey answered. Jacu looked around Xavier and saw Xoey and me. He dropped to his knees and bowed his head, with his hands held out. “It’s ok, Mommy.” She told me and squirmed out of my arms. She began to walk over to the front door, with her mini army following behind her. She tried to step in front of Xavier, but he wouldn’t allow it. No matter how strong she was, Xavier was going to always protect her.

  “Queen. Princess. It is an honor to be before you.” Jacu said with his head down. I stood next to Xavier and placed my hand on his shoulder. The tension eased up a little, because he didn’t know Jacu. I looked at Dom and he nodded his head. Trusting Dom and Xoey, I stepped forward and addressed our new visitor.

  “Come in, Jacu.” I said. He looked up at me with respect. Jacu stood to his feet and walked in the house.

  “We need your help with a few things, Jacu. Come on in here and have a seat, so that we could get started.” Mimi walked in and said. Jacu walked forward without a backwards glance. Xavier looked back at Xoey.

  “You do not invite people to our home during times like this. There are not a lot of people that we can trust.” He said to her.

  “I know Daddy. We don’t have time to waste. Odom and Matteo are getting closer. We need to get the answers that you need today.” Xoey answered.

  “How do you know this, Xoey?” Dom asked her.

  Xoey smiled down at her doll and played with her hair. She looked back at us and smirked with her eyes shining a bright red. “I see it all.” Xoey said in a voice that wasn’t hers. She followed Jacu into the room, leaving all of us stunned.

  “What the fuck was that?” Xander asked.

  “I don’t know, but her voice was deeper than when she almost fucked me up.” Maxi said. We walked in the room and saw that Jacu was standing at the end of the table with his eyes on Xoey. Xavier went and stood by her side. “Show me.” Xoey said to Jacu. Jacu inhaled and his human face dropped. Red and black face with sharp ass teeth appeared before us. His eyes were cold black. “Jacu can tell us about the demons that are working with Odom.” I asked him. His human face came back before he spoke.

  “Their names are Nedaja and Octavine. They were some of the Lieutenants in the underworld. I found out that Odom found a way to reopen the realms. Those two been here for almost three months. Odom recruited them and told them that he was going to share the Devil’s Magic with them. They used their power and built an army.” Jacu said.

  “What type of powers do they have?” Xavier asked.

  “They are able to change faces. They can change into anyone and fool them into thinking whatever they want. I heard that they used this against some of the Guardians. They haven’t been able to find any of the wolves. Ma’vere had been feeding off other shifters and Guardians. They were able to get into the minds of the vampires. A large group of them had been seen around Texas, feeding off humans in broad daylight. Some of them fried to death but took a few humans down with them. That shit made the CNN news.” Jacu said.

  “Fuck!” Dom yelled while punching a hole in the wall.

  “Hey, don’t be tearing up my shit.” Mimi said and waved her hand. The wall was put back together with its crumbled up pieces. “Angel can do damage control.”

  “I don’t have that type of magic, Mimi.” I said.

  “The power of persuasion is in your bloodline child. You need to recognize your potential.” Mimi said.

  “First, we gotta get those vampires under control.” Nylah said.

  “That could only happen if we kill Octavian. He is the one controlling them.” Jacu said.

  “You know, if we don’t get to Octavian, we will have to kill the vampires.” Maxi told Nylah.

  “We gotta do what needs to be done. With them running wild like that, we are all at risk of exposure.” Nylah answered. “I have to call my brother and warn him about everything that is going on.” She said and pulled out her phone. I walked over to Xoey and Xavier.

  “That is not all. If Odom reads out the spell he will open up the other realms around the world. Not just the ones back in the states. If he does that, more demons with fucked up agendas will enter this world. We have to get the Book of Dark Spell back and destroy it.” Jacu said.

  “Where would he try to open up the next realm?” Dom asked.

  “If he is still searching for the Devil’s Magic, he will go where the last battle of Belle and Runi was held.” Jacu said. I didn’t want to go back there. That was a place that I avoided since I made it back home.

  “We will have to go back to the States. We can’t let them take over. Especially with two of the realms open.” Xavier said. He looked at Dom and nodded his head. “We will be leaving tomorrow morning. I will call Errol and tell him to meet me with the first guard in Texas. We don’t know how many people they had gathered up within the past days.” Xavier said and walked out of the room. Dom pulled out his phone and called Sentury to tell him the same.

  “Well, we need to come up with a plan. We know how to draw them out. We need to keep Matteo and the other Dark Guardians busy for Lil Bit to take out Odom.” Josh said.

  “I will take care of Matteo.” Mimi said with a darker voice. “It is time that we get this shit off our chest.”

  “Mimi, I don’t want y’all out t
here trying to kill each other.” I said.

  “Matteo would rather be dead than to have that asshole controlling him.” She said. I dropped my head. I didn’t want to lose him. I just got him back. Mimi stood in front me and picked my head up with her hand. I looked into her sad eyes. “I will try my best to break the hold that Odom has on Matteo. But if I can’t Angel, I will need you to understand that it is something that needed to be done.” She said. I nodded my head. She kissed me and walked off. Tomorrow was really going to be the end of all this shit, I thought. I looked down at a smiling Xoey.

  “Mommy, can I stay in Uncle Maxi and Aunt Nylah’s room tonight.” She asked.

  “I don’t know baby girl. I think that they want to be alone tonight. You can come in our room. We could talk and read some books.” I told her. I knew that everybody here was going to be doing some fucking tonight. I didn’t want my baby girl hearing none of it. Xavier and I was going to sleep in the other house. I wanted to spend as much as time with them as possible. I didn’t know how tomorrow was going to turn out. Maxi came over and scooped Xoey up.

  “Hey, Lil Bit. You and Xavier go out to the house and spend some time together. Nylah and I will take Xoey off your hands.” He told me. I shook my head and he frowned at me. “I don’t have to ask for permission to get my Goddaughter Lil Bit. You should be lucky that I asked.” He said and walked off with a giggling Xoey.

  Xavier and Dom called the men back to the office to tell them what was going to happen the next day. Everyone had their orders and was hyped for the battle. Treasure and the rest of my sisters came back to the main house. We laughed, clowned, and talked about the good times. Tyree retired early with Tori. Xavier and his brothers went in the family with Nanny. I took my brothers outside with Xoey. We were all trying to get in that special time with one another.

  “Alright, Brothers. I need y’all to close your eyes and concentrate.” I said.

  “What are we concentrating on, Lil Bit?” Dom asked me.

  “Mom,” I answered and smiled. They all nodded their head and closed their eyes. We felt the atmosphere changing and knew that my mother was pulling through. The air got cleaner and the wind picked up with a slight breeze. I opened my eyes and saw my mother standing in front of us.

  “Hello, my babies.” She said.

  “Hey Mom,” my brothers said as they opened their eyes. Mom looked over at Maxi and smiled.

  “You look good son, I almost didn’t recognize you.” She said.

  “I’m the same ol’ me, Mom. How are you doing?” Maxi asked.

  “I am doing great. I have amazing children that are about to go out here and save the world.” She said.

  “Yeah, but I don’t think that we can save Papi, Mom.” I told her.

  “And if you don’t, it is not your fault. None of this is your fault. They are always going to have people that are blinded by greed and hate. We can try to guide them the right way, but we can’t make them do good. My mother tried with her brother, by giving him a second chance. He messed that up, but I don’t think that she would have changed her decision. You all are going to go through life trying to figure out the ones that deserve that second chance. But don’t let the actions of your decisions change who you are.” She said.

  “Salut Mamie, vous êtes à la recherche belle aujourd'hui.” Xoey said.

  “Well look at you speaking French. I am fine my beautiful Princes.” Mom said to Xoey. Xoey walked to her and hugged her waist. We talked for an hour before going back into the house. Jessica came over to me with a mischievous smile. Loreen was standing in front of Xavion.

  `“Ok, what’s going on?” I asked. Jess grabbed my hand and pulled me to the middle of the room. She placed her hands on my shoulder and turned me around to a kneeling Xavier. I was happy that Jess was behind me. I felt like I was going to faint. Jess’ hands kept me up.

  “My father always told us that life without the one you love, is a life that is not worth living. When you came back into my life, I knew that I was ready to live. You complete all of the missing parts of me, Queen. You make me a better man and Alpha. I don’t think that I could go another day without you being my mate. Tonight will be ours. Under the moon and with our family. Are you ready, Queen?”

  Xavier said.

  I smiled at him and nodded my head. I didn’t want to fuck up the moment saying some lame shit. Xavier stood up and grabbed me by the waist. He lifted me up in the air and spun me around. Our family clapped and cheered for us. Xoey came and hugged her Daddy’s leg.

  “Daddy you gotta put her down so that she can put on her dress.” She said. Xavier placed me on my feet and kissed my lips.

  “I’ll be waiting for you.” He said. Jess grabbed my hand and walked me up to the room. Tori opened the door with tears in her eyes.

  “That was the bomb right there.” She said.

  “I thought you went to sleep with…. you know.” I told her.

  “Nope. I came up here to lay out your dress and then went with Tyree to the store. We got some steaks, ribs, and some other things to make for the festivities.” She said.

  “How long were y’all planning this” I asked.

  “Two days,” Mimi said. I knew that you were going to talk to Nesida before the battle. We were able to set up and put the food on. Come on, nah. We don’t have all night.” Mimi said. I gave myself a wash off and put on my beautiful ivory mating dress. It was nice and simple. A strapless fitted dress with lace covering it. It fell below my knees. Xoey was in an ivory spaghetti strap dress. Her curly golden hair was pushed back with an ivory headband. I let my hair flow free down my back. It was going to get fucked up anyway. The other girls were in linen dresses.

  After everyone was dressed, Dom knocked on the door to see if we were ready. I stood up and I could have sworn that this fool was about to cry. He made eye contact with me one time, then began to look around the room like he never seen it before.

  “Well, P. It’s your time, Sis.” Jess said.

  “Yeah. After this, we gotta find a way to get them other heifers down the aisle.” I said, jokingly.

  “Aye, we are next.” Loreen said and gave me a hug.

  “And I ain’t getting married.” Tori said. We all looked at her like she was crazy. We knew how she felt about Tyree. He was going to wife her up soon. Whether she liked it or not.

  “Alright ladies. We are about to start.” Mimi said. Cam and Treasure gave me a kiss on the cheek and went downstairs with the other girls. Nanny walked in and placed a small box in my hand. I opened it up and gasped. It was a cushion-cut ruby that looked like it was four carats, with a diamond-set surrounding it and mounted in 18k yellow gold.

  “Nanna, I can’t take this.” I told her.

  “You can and you will. Jacob and I always knew that it was going to be you to get this.” She said and pulled the ring out of the box. She showed me the inside of it and it was engraved. To our daughter, Patience.

  I felt the tears rolling down my face. “Thank you, Nanna.” I stood and hugged her.

  “Oh, there is nothing to thank me for.” She said. She pulled back and wiped my tears away. “Go get him.” She said and walked out of the room, leaving me with Dom.

  “Are you ready, cry baby?” He asked.

  “I know you ain’t talking. All of a sudden you suffering with allergies.” I said to him. He walked over to me and smiled.

  “No. I am suffering from losing my baby sister. She is being replaced with the Queen of the Guardians and the mate to the Alpha of the Southern Territory. My Lil Bitt ain’t too little anymore.” He said.

  “Don’t forget she is a Mommy now and got all these muthafuckers bowing down to her feet.” Josh said walking in with Maxi. They were all dressed in linen suits as well.

  “Guys,” was the only word that I got out before the tears came back. I was waiting for Maxi to clown me about my tears but he didn’t. He looked sad just like the rest of my brothers. “This doesn’t
change anything. I will always be Lil Bit. No matter what.” I said.

  “You promise.” Maxi whispered. I nodded my head, as Dom pulled me into his arms. “We love you, Lil Bit.” He told me.

  “I love you guys, too.” I replied. Josh pulled me out of Dom’s arms and hugged me tight. “Tomato,” he whispered. I laughed and squeezed him tighter. “Tomahto.” I responded.

  “Let her go, so she can come to her favorite brother.” Maxi boosted.

  “The only reason why you are her favorite, was because you let her braid and put ribbons in your hair.” Josh said, letting me go.

  “Yeah, but it was worth it.” He said. I walked in front of him and smiled. “I thought that Xoey was your favorite girl now.” I teased him. Xoey was standing next to him smiling.

  “She is, but you are the first.” He said. I reached out and pulled him into a hug. The way he held onto me was different from Dom and Josh. This hug felt like a goodbye for some reason. I pulled back and tried to read his mind. It’s been harder to do now that he has become a hybrid. He closed me out and shook his head. “Let’s enjoy this day.” He said and grabbed Xoey’s hand. I didn’t probe. I nodded and followed him out the door with Josh and Dom.

  Chapter 13

  Xavier

  I stood and waited for my Queen to come out the house with her brothers. I didn’t think that she was going to agree with the ceremony. She wanted her Papi here to witness it. I had this planned for days. I talked to both of our brothers and they were more than happy to help. Mom and Ginell got everything else together with the women. They loved my Queen. They were willing to do anything to make our ceremony happen.
