MC: Pres: Book Four

  VP: "D18 move south one block. LP1 will meet you there."

  LP1: "She's been drugged."

  VP: "Chopper will land in the park, he needs ten. PD are circling, split and meet at the park. Jake, follow LP1."

  Jake: "Roger."

  Danny makes it to the truck, Driscoll pulls Kate off, Todd has the door open waiting. They get her in. Thank Fuck. Jake pulls up and jumps in the suv with Kate. Danny is pacing outside the door.

  VP: "PD one block north heading your way, LP1."

  Todd gets on Jakes bike and flies up the block. Two Brothers are riding straight toward the PD car. Rich rides one wheel in front of him and speeds off to the right, Todd runs the other. Bob flies on the side of the car and runs the middle of the road directly behind them.

  VP: "Chopper in five LP1, get her to the fuckin park." Jake jumps in the driver’s door, Danny gets on his bike clearing a path for him. When a car won't move he shows his gun. Fuckin Brother. I look at the other screen, bikes are fuckin everywhere flying down blocks and drawing attention. Fuck. "Bikes south heading north spread through three blocks." Steve laughs.

  VP: "MC Team get to the park New York chapter is clearing your way." Thank fuck! I watch the chopper land; Jake drives through a walkway getting him close. Danny jumps off and carries Kate to the chopper door. Tiny helps him in and jumps out slapping his back.

  VP: "MC Team choppers lifting, time to come home, let New York deal with New York." The room cheers. I put my head down and thank God. Fuckin hell!

  Looking up I watch the screen. The New York chapter is fuckin crazier than Danny. They're putting on a show in the middle of the fuckin streets. Steve laughs.

  VP: "LP2, B3 show them how to do it one block to the north." I watch the New York chapter clear the road and circle. Rich flies over the crowd spinning right the fuck around. Bob jumps the barrier and rides one wheel under fuckin Rich. No fuckin fear. Rich lands, lifts the wheel and does a quarter spin on the side of Bob then drops it down and they drive away together. The fuckin crowd claps.

  It takes them twenty minutes to get to the highway. We watch the suv and truck pull behind the bikes. New York chapter clears their way.

  Kevin stands and walks over to me. "You're fuckin teams are incredible. I would suggest Security on the family. The west coast will hear stories. I wiped video and New York and Connecticut will wipe when you’re through. The stories will be out there, another crew could get desperate enough to come after your family."

  I nod. "Thanks Kevin. I'll get Steve on it when he's not in machine mode."

  He doesn't smile. "It's fuckin hard for me to see him like that too. Nothing human about what the fuckin government programmed him for. Cloud is landing close to Doc's. Danny said you can give me a ride over." He goes for his laptop and bag.

  "VP I'm meeting the chopper at Doc's." His eyes scan to me and he nods. Kevin watches.

  Steve looks at him and puts his fist out. "Thanks for the help Brother. Send me the new software and the bill."

  Kevin bumps his fist. "Happy to help. I'll get Beau on delivering the software. Get Security on your families Knight. This won't be a onetime incident."

  "Roger Two." Steve says. I don't get it.

  Kevin walks away shaking his head. We go out the door. "On Teams I was Two. Jamie was One. As in Thing one and two. The guys shortened it to one and two. He jumps back to that time when he's red. I mean when he's turned to machine mode as you call it."

  "He's run with Danny without being red. He knows the difference but if something sets him off, he jumps right back into it. He only runs now when something big hits. Thank fuck he broke his fuckin bones and couldn't ride today. Half of fuckin New York would have blown up." I tell him getting in a Security truck.

  He fuckin laughs. "We heard about the signs. Sorry about your partner. Knight called about C4 but Beau wouldn't give it up. Don’t get me wrong we’d do anything to help him out but our guy Jose got the video with him shooting the billboards and blowing them up. I can't believe Danny can fuckin walk right now. Giving him more C4 didn’t seem like it’d be in anyone’s best interest."

  "That one was bad. He fuckin duct taped me to the frame."

  He's fuckin hysterical. I still don't think it's funny. We get to Doc's and hear the chopper. I wait with Kevin until it lands. He walks right up to it and opens the door.

  Danny hands Kate to me and moves us into Doc's. He draws blood and tells us to wait. She's sleeping. "Thank you Brother. I don't think I've ever been so scared in my fuckin life." I say to him, my voice hoarse.

  He hugs me. "Me too Ben. Me too."

  Doc comes back in, "It's morphine. She'll be out of it for a while. She can't nurse for a few days. I have a call into Boston. I'll get more specifics when they call back."

  "Can we take her home?" I ask.

  He smiles at me. "Yeah Pres. Nancy is coordinating breast milk with their doctor’s office. They do this when a mom is on medication and can't nurse. She asked if they could help out now. Brenna has six bottles now. You'll get a delivery at eight tonight and eight in the morning. Six bottles each time. Nancy will help if you need more." I nod I'm Fuckin numb.

  Danny lifts Kate up. I hold the door. He nods to the passenger seat. "Get in. I'll drive." I wouldn't want to let her go. "I had to hold her on the way home. I thought it would kill me if I didn't. Get in so you can get rid of that feeling." I jump in and he puts her on my lap. I throw him chin and kiss her head. I did think I was going to die. Fuckin Danny.

  When he pulls onto the street I ask how she's tracked. He smiles. "Her jewels. The studs and the rounds have tracking on them. Whenever I get her jewelry they're tracked." Fuckin Brother. I just nod. "Ben, it's something in me. I didn't put any thought into it other than when she changes jewelry she leaves tracking at home. I did the jewels so no matter what she wears I can find her. I never thought I'd need it."

  "Thank fuck you did it." I tell him opening the door. He runs around and holds the door. The kids come running. Danny signs 'quietly.' Patches hugs Danny and Tess kisses Kate. The kids all put a hand on her. I give them their time then carry her toward our bed.

  Danny goes to Brenna; I see his tears and turn my head climbing the stairs. He follows with Brenna. I put Kate down and he puts Brenna on his chest lying on the side of her. "Get on her other side Brother. Let her know we're here." I do and watch as she burrows into me. Danny turns and puts Brenna on my chest. Kate's hand moves to her. Danny lays his head on her back. I close my eyes feeling the tear. Fuckin hell! I was so fuckin scared. Now they're all safe. Thank Fuck, now they're all safe.

  Fifty

  Danny

  A meeting was called for here at the house this morning. I have two hours. I finally fell asleep about four hours ago. Last night Kate came out of the drugs and cried forever. Thank fuck Ben needed to hold her. I kept Brenna until she calmed down, then she wouldn't let her baby girl go. Jess came and talked to her forever in the room. Steve told us he called a meeting at the house for nine. He didn't say what it was for and I didn't give a fuck so I never asked.

  I finish my workout and come in to see Tiny at the table. "Patches will be over for the kids. The backyard has Security running, Millie's is covered." What the fuck now? I get water and coffee. When I hear Devan moving I get up. "I got him Brother." Tiny says walking up the stairs.

  I drink my coffee waiting for the kids. Little Ben comes in and sits on my lap. Just like when he was younger. I hug him. "I was so fuckin scared LB."

  He squeezes me back. "Me too Uncle Danny but you got her back and Doc covered Brenna for us."

  My fuckin nephew. "Yeah."

  Jessie comes in and hugs us both. He gives us thirty seconds then is done. "Freakin Brothers. It worked out. It was a good day. No casualties, no injuries, a freakin good day. Let it go now Brothers." I fuckin laugh. He is unfuckinbelievable!

  Tiny comes in with Devan and a smile, he heard. "You tell him Brother." He slaps Jessie's back. Fuckin kids. Little Ben gives me a smile
and a shrug getting up to help with the kids. We're over it, time to move on.

  Patches and Tess come for the kids. Patches walks them over to his house then drives Devan to Millie's. I keep Brenna here. I don't think Kate can let her go just yet. While I'm checking on her I grab clothes and change. Ben's in the shower and Kate is still sleeping. Ben will get her up when he's done.

  I sit back at the table with Tiny. "News had a gang war story. Unidentifiable gang along with a bike parade through the city. Unauthorized parade where daredevil stunts and tricks were performed. People are in an uproar that bikers can't show in the city. They make movies and shoot commercials but bikers can't show. Was a cluster fuck of a day for the cops. Then the gang war. They got nothing cause video shows nothing."

  "Thank Fuck because I didn't give a fuck yesterday. All I could think about was getting Kate back." I shake my head; I don't know what the fuck we showed the people of New York, we were so focused on what needed to be done.

  "Baxter's called; they have Cloud delivering your money. You left it in the chopper." He thinks it's funny.

  "She was drugged; I didn't think about money, I thought about getting to Doc's." I take a drink then remember him on the chopper. "Thanks for taking the ride back."

  He throws chin. "Tell me about Axe." He says.

  Fuck, I knew I shouldn't have answered Ben. "I got out of the Club, a year later a Brother came to my house and dropped off a truck with a trunk and some of Axe's personal effects. It killed me to go through that shit. He came over and had dinner from time to time but never said a fuckin word to me. Always called me son but I didn't know I really was his son. My mother wasn't a biker chick. I dealt with everything but the trunk. I moved it here. When I was building Devan's room I kept tripping over the fuckin thing and decided to put it in his safe room. I wouldn't have to see it until he was old enough to use the room. I moved it and kept going in to look at it. It was fuckin nuts. Rich was due back and the trunk was begging me to open it. I did. There was a letter from him explaining about my mother and him not being able to deal. He should have taken me with him but the fuckin drugs were already dragging the club down." I stop for a breath. "Under his cut was the money. What the fuck was I going to do with it? Wasn't like I could take it to a bank so I left it where it was. I put the lock on it and closed the door. That's it, end of story."

  We sit quiet for a while. "Is Jess Axe's?" I knew it was coming.

  I look at him. "I got no fuckin clue. We don't have fathers listed on our birth certificates."

  Thank fuck Ben comes in with Brenna. I get her bottle ready, he hands her to me when I sit. He makes a coffee then makes a new pot. "Kate's getting dressed." I nod.

  Steve comes in with Jess followed by Nancy, Casper and Mary. Tiny gets cups down for everyone. Jake and Cloud come with the bag of money, Tiny gets them coffee and makes a new pot. Kate comes in and he hands her a cup she bends to kiss me and looks around. Rich, Bob and Geek come in. My fuckin house is too small for this. The Brothers are talking but they're quiet about it. I stand and move to the wall burping Brenna. I can see everyone now. Steve watches me. The women go into the living room. When her bottle is finished I bring her to Kate. The women are quiet.

  Back in the kitchen everyone is waiting. "Who are we waiting for?"

  Steve looks at me. "Beau and Max."

  I nod. "I'm guessing not the dog." They laugh.

  "Max does family security for the Baxter's." Jake tells me.

  I stay against the wall and wait. Cloud turns to Ben, "They're pulling up now." He must have a radio in his ear. I go to the door and open it.

  Beau, Mitch and Max come in. I've never seen Max but Mitch hugs me and Beau does the man hug. "Glad your wife got back safe." I thank him and bring Mitch to the women.

  Beau waits for me to come in then tells us why we're here. “I’m sorry we kept you waiting. Mitch's security is sometimes tricky." Ben nods to him. "Five million dollars is a high ransom. It's a number that's talked about and now it's a number that has your name linked to it." Fuck. I had a feeling that’s what this is about. “Kevin wasn’t sure you understood the significance of the threat that you now have against you. He sent Mitch to explain the security need to your women. The highest ranking families will need to protect their women and children. That should start today. Max will talk to your family security guy. He’s been head of Baxter’s Personal security for eight years now. He’s considered the best, use his knowledge and experience, it’s free. Jake is head of Baxter Security, he’s offering his knowledge and experience as well. He has a price.” Beau smiles. “He wants to be an Associate in the Club.” We laugh.

  “I thought he was?” Tiny says making Jake laugh.

  “Cloud is a pilot, a security expert and a master in martial arts. He offers whatever is needed to keep his family safe.” I look at Steve.

  “Why the fuck don’t I know this shit?” Ben yells at Steve.

  “My mother’s sister’s son, Cloud. Cloud my pain in the ass Brother Ben. Met up with him at Baxter’s when I was lookin for C4. Now you fuckin know.” Fuckin Steve cracks me up. Ben is pissed.

  “Now that that is out of the way, I’m here to explain the plan Mitch came up with last night.” He unrolls a map of the town with our houses marked on it. “You are all pretty close in proximity to each other. Mitch highlighted what she thought would work best. There are only eight houses on this street and three on the next. Casper and Tiny will have to move. They can be relocated to this or the next street. With your family Casper you might stick to the other street. There is a house with six bedrooms and four baths. Tiny you would have your pick of houses.”

  “Fuck, there goes the neighborhood. I’ll never have a fuckin cup of coffee in peace again.” I mutter winking at Tiny. They all laugh.

  “If you put fencing and a gate on the end of this road you now have a secure compound. You can level the houses or use them for your high ranked families. One of these houses is in need of leveling. Mitch marked it in red.” He points to the house I thought he would. “You need the fencing to run to the beach and into the water. The bluffs shield you on the other side. I have an engineer that can help with the fencing in water. That keeps all high ranking families in high security. Max will tell you physical bodies are also needed. I will agree with him. We had people infiltrate from the reservation. Water is not easy but it’s not impossible for a determined kidnapper. If the money is right people will do it.” I’m looking at the changes and they’re minimal. This would work perfect. Fuckin Mitch is one smart woman.

  He unrolls another map. This one is the entire town. “I’ve seen your surveillance. I can’t believe you have the whole fuckin town wired. Because of the traffic and the size of the town Mitch took areas of concern. Where the Women’s Center is there are small business owned by your members or residents. That is an area that needs physical presence. Closing the road, making a parking area and walking trails cuts the vehicle traffic; this takes the easy access away from the cluster of high security women that would be in those businesses. Luckily the Bakery doesn’t have a drive thru. The Women’s Center can have a gated parking area putting the physical body in the picture without it looking like a hired gun. Your cameras can be beefed up to take in the walking trails.” I get up and look at the map.

  “It’s brilliant and can be done in days. There’s nothing here aside from the guard shack that we can’t do right away. The one thing I would add is overhead cover. Maybe like at the schools.” I tell Ben. “If we order the fencing and roofing today we can have it by done by next week.”

  Beau moves closer to me showing me the cone and playground. “Knight lives here we can do the same with fencing on this side of the road. Life would be easy if he’d just move but I’m told he doesn’t like that kind of change so we worked the fencing to secure that area as well.”

  I look at Steve. “It would be better if you moved. The boat dock will always be a threat to you.” He looks at me. I’m wondering if he’s thi
nking about it or he’s ignoring me. Beau waits him out.

  “I’ll talk to Jess.” He says and looks at the map.

  Beau continues. “Next is the Senior Center and Daycare. We can accomplish the same level of security with fencing. Posting a guard at the gate.” He looks up, Ben nods. "That covers work and home. If your women leave those areas you need Physical Security with them. The only one that leaves the town regularly is Kate. She is also your highest risk. Mitch is making sure she understands the risk and need for a constant security presence when she’s off property.” He looks at me and Ben.

  “She won’t have a problem with it.” I tell him. He looks surprised, he looks over to Steve. I watch Steve shake his head no. I guess he didn’t believe me.

  He nods at me and goes on. “You already monitor the roads and have the recognition program running. Short of blocking exit and on ramps the town is pretty secure.” Casper nods. “The last thing is a place where kids and women can go that will ensure their safety in the event that these measures don’t work.” Steve and Tiny crack up. Beau looks at them.

  I look at Beau. “There are safe rooms in every building I’ve worked on. I can make sure they go in anything we acquire for this.”

  He nods, “I guess my part is done.” He steps away from the table.

  Jake moves away from the wall. “I have nothing to add to what you already do in Security. I have experiences that are different than yours, if you have a need I am always available to you. Rob and Digs have my numbers. I just came so I could get my foot in the door.” We crack up.

  “Fuckin Jake, you’re already in the fuckin door. I’ll get you a cut to keep you from whining.” Tiny says throwing a tampon at him. We all crack up.

  Cloud pushes him toward the wall. They’re good friends. I smile. “I can be called on to fly in the event of an emergency. I can train for martial arts. I taught Mitch and some of the women from the shelters. I also have different experiences than you that I will freely share.”
