She doesn't move for a few minutes and neither does he. Then she shakes her head. “No this is fine, but thank you Phoenix.” He takes his hands away from her and nods.

“That offer will always be good.” She nods, then turns around to leave.

Amanda nods again then walks out of his office, he can feel his chest hurting.

  ***

Jennifer watches Phoenix's mother walking out of the office. She has hope for Phoenix's love, he just gave his mother money. Jennifer glances at her phone and sees that she has a missed call and five text messages. The missed call is from Ryan, and he left a voicemail. She doesn’t want to deal with that right now. She looks at her text messages and four of them are also from him and one from Megan. She looks at her first.

I’m going out with a sexy doctor tonight, please don't be home. Go to your sex gods, I am hoping to find my own!! Love ya!

Jennifer smiles at her phone then goes to text Phoenix.

I need to stay at your place tonight if you don't mind. Megan is going to be having sex with your friend tonight.

She presses send and stares at her phone, waiting for his reply. With in seconds it vibrates in her hand.

I don’t mind, I still want you to move in with me.

She smiles, and doesn’t reply. Jennifer puts her phone back into purse, she gets back to work.

  Chapter Eleven

Jennifer smiles when Phoenix walks out of his office. His eyes are on her and her only.

“Can we stop by my place? I want to get some clothes.” He shakes his head and she frowns.

“Darling I already had some maternity delivered to my place.” She is shocked.

“Thank you.” She says, and can feel tears filling her eyes.

Phoenix moves to her. “Oh darling, if you don't like them I can send them back.”

She stands up and shakes her head. “No, that isn't it. It's just that is probably the nicest thing someone has ever done for me.” She wraps her arms around him and he hugs her to him. “Thank you.” She whispers against his chest.

“Darling, you should know by now I would do anything for you.” He says sweetly, and she smiles against his chest.

She only truly wants one thing, and that is his heart. “I do know that.” She feels him kiss the top of her head.

“Good, now lets get home. I have dinner waiting for us.” Jennifer's hearts swells, she is head over heels for Phoenix, and she has a feeling that she is going get her heart broken.

Jennifer pulls her car behind Phoenix's midnight blue SUV. She smiles because it makes her think of his eyes. Jennifer wonders if he picked it because of that. She gets out, and he is already walking to her.

“I invited someone over.” Phoenix says, as he is almost to her.

She narrows her eyes at him, she has no clue who he would have invited. “Who?”

He stops about a foot in front of her, and she automatically wraps her arms around his neck. She lilts her head back to look at him. “Your father.” Wraps his arms around her, and she tries to move away. He doesn't let her.

“Why is my father here?” She says in a higher voice.

He smiles down at her. “Darling, he knows about you being pregnant, and he wanted to talk to us.”

Now she can feel the color drain from her face. “I didn’t want to tell him yet.”

“Darling you aren’t going to have a normal pregnancy, there isn't a lot of time to wait.”

Jennifer knows this, and understands why they need to talk to him. She hopes he didn't bring his new young new wife. Brittney was Jennifer's best friend growing up, and they were always together. It was always Megan, Brittney and Jennifer, until they all turned twenty-three. That is when Jennifer walked in on Brittney and her father together. She has long blonde hair and bright ass blue eyes. She also weighs like ninety pounds soaking wet.

“Darling, did you hear anything that I was just saying?” She shakes her head. “I have a famous chef cooking for us tonight. And I told him to make you something special.”

She smiles at her sexy incubus. “You are too good to me.”

  He winks. “Are you complaining?”

Jennifer shakes her head and grins. “Hell no, I love it.” She says as she walks away, but she doesn't miss his laughter. The door opens before Jennifer could do it, she sees Mark.

“Hello Ms. Cruz, and Mr. DuPont. Welcome home your guest are waiting in the living room.”

Jennifer sighs and walks pass Mark, she isn’t looking forward to seeing her dad. He always tells her that she is disappointing him in someway. Now she is unmarried and pregnant.

She feels a warm hand take hers. “I am here, and I will stand next to you no matter what.”

He leads her through is house, into a part of the house she had never seen. This part of his hour is done in dark reds and browns. When they walk into a large opened room, she sees her father, and Brittney making out. Jennifer wants to scream, but squeezes Phoenix's hand instead.

“Mr. Cruz?” Phoenix says, and her father slowly moves away from her former best friend.

The first think he narrows his eyes on his her stomach, which feels like it grows by the minute. “Jennifer how could you?” He says and shakes his head.

Brittney giggles. “Oh honey bear, at lease she picked a rich man.” She puts her arms up and spins in a circle to show Jennifer the surrounding room.

Jennifer looks back at her father, and he glares at her. “I have enough money, she didn't need to spread her legs for some rich man.” Jennifer's man drops open, and Phoenix squeezes her hand.

  “Dad!”

She can see Phoenix shaking his head, so she shuts his mouth and will let him handle it. “Scott, that is no way for you to talk about your daughter, as I can see you have no room to talk.” Jennifer turns to look at Phoenix, he smiles down at her. He looks up to where she knows Brittney is standing. “How old are you, Jennifer's age?”

Jennifer looks at Brittney, and she flips her super long blonde hair behind her shoulder. “Yeah, we grew up together. I always thought she had a hot dad.”

Jennifer doesn’t know if it's what she said or because she is pregnant, but she wants to throw up.

“Darling, are you okay?” He takes her face into his hands, and as she stares into his eyes she nods. “Brittney, right?” He lets go of her face, and turns his attention back to Brittney and her father.

“Yeah.” She says in her high voice.

“Scott, you are the one who needs to be ashamed. Your daughter is the most amazing woman I have ever meet. And she will be the best damn mother.” Jennifer looks at the ground and smiles.

“Then you should marry her, if you care so much about her.” Jennifer looks back at Phoenix, and she prays he doesn’t mention he asked her.

“Sir, I don’t want to marry her just because she is having my babies. I want to be madly in love with her.” He says the last part as he is staring into her eyes.

“Love doesn't mean anything. She needs a husband on her arm or people will think she is a tramp.”

Jennifer watches Phoenix's face transform. He looks like he wants to kill her father. “You need to get out now, I will not have you calling Jennifer any kind of names in my house.” No one has ever told her father what to do, and Phoenix just did. She takes a chance and looks at her father, his mouth is hanging open.

He quickly shuts it, and runs his fingers through his hair. “No one has ever stood up for Jenny like that, and I can tell you care about her.” He takes a breath then looks at Jennifer. “Jenny I am sorry. It just I don’t ever want you to be a single mother.”

“I do care about Jennifer more than any other woman in my life and I will do everything to make sure she doesn't end up as a single mother.” Jennifer can feel him taking more of her heart.

“Good that is what matters.” Her father says.

Someone clears their throats and Jennifer looks over her shoulder. Mark is standing there. “The chef is ready for you.”

&nb
sp; “Thank you Mark.” Phoenix says, then looks back at her dad. “Are you going to stay?”

Jennifer looks back at her dad, and he smiles. “If you will still have us.”

Phoenix squeezes her hand. “That is up to your daughter.” She looks up at him, he grins down at her and she nods. He is still her father, even if she doesn't like his new wife.

Phoenix leads them into his beautiful dinning room. He has a large chandelier, and it sparkles a little too much which makes her think it's not crystals. There is a huge table that fits twenty people sitting in the middle of the room. She looks down at the floor and it's the same marble from his office with the same gold specks.

“Oh my god, this room is beautiful.” Brittney says, and for once in a long time Jennifer agrees.

“Thank you.” He pulls Jennifer to a chair, and pulls it out for her. “There you go angel.” She sits down and he pushes her chair in, he kisses the top of her head.

Phoenix sits next to her, and takes her hand back under the table. Her dad and Brittney sit across from them. A man with a white chefs hat walks out carrying some food, and there are three other people behind him with food. The chef walks to Jennifer and smiles.

“Jennifer?” He says with an accent, and she nods. He sets a plate in front of her with pizza and a but load of pepperonis on it. She burst out laughing, this is the best thing ever. “Phoenix told me you had a craving for this, so I made my family's secret recipe. Came from Italy.” He slightly bows. “Please take a bite, and tell me what you think.”

Jennifer nods, and lifts a piece to her mouth. As soon as she takes a bite she moans. There is so much favor in that one bite she thinks her mouth will explode. She swallows and jumps up to hug the chef. “Thank you so much this is amazing.” She can tell that she took him by surprise, and she smiles at him. “You are a freaking cooking rock star!”

He chuckles, and takes her hand. He kisses her knuckles. “I am so very happy you liked it. I shall make more for you whenever you want.” He winks his baby blue eye at her, and she can feel Phoenix's heated gaze on her back. She smiles then turns around to walks back to her seat.

After dinner Jennifer and Phoenix walk her dad and Brittney to the door. Dinner was a better than she thought it would be. Her dad, says he can't wait to be a grandfather, and Brittney says she would never be a grandmother. Which is fine with her, her babies will have Cameo as their grandmother.

“Jenny, I want you to be happy.” Her father says and leans it and kisses her cheek.

She smiles at her dad, and Brittney pushes him out-of-the-way. She kisses both or Jennifer's cheeks. “You are looking so fat!”

“Brittney, why don't I walks you out and show you my newest SUV.” Phoenix says and winks at Jennifer.

“I would love to!” Brittney says, then jumps up and down.

Jennifer doesn’t say anything until the front door shuts. “Dad, I want to know about Christina.”

They haven’t really talked about her real mother, and Cameo only knows a little. “What do you want to know.”

“Was she an angel?” His eyes widen in surprise.

He drops his head down. “Yes, she fell for me and I let her die.”

Jennifer takes a deep breath, and gets enough courage to ask her next question. “How did she die?”

He looks away, she kind of knows what happened. She has read the old newspapers, but she wants to hear it from him. She doesn't think he is going to answer her, it is at least three minutes before he looks at her.

“There was a man that came into our house, he beat and burned your mother. He killed her by cutting of her head, and leaving her dismember body for me to find. You were up stairs in your crib when all of this happened.” He pauses and she sees tears in his eyes that match her own. “Jennifer, I wish like hell I was there, maybe if I didn't work so many hours I would have saved her.”

Jennifer feels her tears falling as she shakes her head. “No dad I would have probably have lost both of you.”

He hugs her tightly to him and she does the same. “You know I am really happy that you and Cameo have stayed close. She was one of your mother best friends.” She moves back a little to look at him. She never knew that, she never knew that Cameo knew her mother.

“I didn’t know Cameo and Christina knew each other.” She wonders why Cameo would keep this. She is the only mother Jennifer has really known, and thought she knew everything about her.

“Jennifer don’t be mad at Cameo. She loves you and didn’t tell you because I told her not to.”

She shakes her head. “Why would you do that?”

“Because I thought it was what was best for you, but I can see now that it wasn't. Just don’t be mad at her, she has wanted to tell you for years.” Jennifer knows her mother and father still talk once in while.

“Fine I won't be mad at her, but I can't say the same for you.” She looks away from him. Her father is always keeping things from her, and then she has to dig. Like when he started seeing Brittney, he kept it from her until he was marring her.

“I can deal with that, but I love you.” He walks to the door, but pauses, “And you will always be my little girl.”

Jennifer sighs, and rushes to stop her dad. She puts her hand on his shoulder. “I love you to dad.” He turns his head to the side and she sees his smile.

“Good bye sweetie.” He says, and walks away.

  Chapter Twelve

Jennifer waits for Phoenix to walk back in, he smiles at her when he walks in. When he smiles at her like that, she thinks he does love her, but doesn't know it.

“That wasn't that bad.” He says as he drops to his knees in front of her. He lays his lips against her baby bump. It now looks like a basketball.

“It started out bad, but ended well. And I never thanked you for standing up for me.” She reaches down and runs her fingers in his silly wavy hair. “Thank you so much.”

He grins up at her, and she returns his beautiful grin. “Oh darling, there is no need to thank me. I won't let anyone talk to you like you are nothing, because you are my something.” He pause, and his smile widens. “You are my everything, now.” He lifts up her shirt, and kisses her belly again. “And you two are my everything, just like your momma.”

“Oh Phoenix.” She says and yawns.

He stands up and kisses her sweetly on the lips. “Let me take you to bed.”

She yawns again. “I don’t think I am up for anything but sleep.”

Phoenix chuckles, and wraps his arms around her waist. “No darling, I want to sleep. And I can tell that is what you want.”

She laughs, and lays her head on his chest. She listens to his heartbeat for a second. “Okay Phoenix take me to bed.” He takes her hand, and she smiles.

“Yes ma’am.” His voice seems to have more of a southern twang to it. They walk up hand and hand to his bedroom. She decides to sleep naked, and he does too. It doesn't take long to fall asleep.

  ***

Phoenix watches Jennifer sleeping on his arm. He has never slept with a woman before, and he is loving the feeling of her next to him. He can't believe how beautiful she is, and if possible she is more beautiful as she sleeps. It's crazy to him how her belly seems to be growing as if it's growing every minute.

Even with her little noises she makes it turns him on. He is rock fucking hard, and it is almost painful. He wonders if he can moves his arm without waking her up. He tries, and she moves her head off of his arm. He quickly moves his arm away, and slowly gets out of bed. He needs to burn some of this energy in order to sleep. He walks into his closet to get some work out clothes, and then heads downstairs to his gym. Someone is already in there, and he nods to Mark.

Mark has worked for him for the pass three years, and he is the best employee he has ever had.

“Hello Mark.” He says, and he walks over to the treadmill. He walks to run himself to sleep.

Mark's head snaps up, and nods. “Hello sir, is there anything I could get you.” He sa
ys as he sets down his weights.

Phoenix shakes his head. “No, I just needed to burn off some energy.” He starts up his machine and starts jogging slightly.

Mark smiles at him. “If I can say, Jennifer is the perfect woman for you.”

Phoenix grins like a fool thinking of Jennifer. “I do hope so.”

Mark walks over to where Phoenix is running. “You know sir, it is possible for you to love someone. But because you are an incubus, you can love.”

Slowly Phoenix looks at Mark. He has never told him what he was, and never planned on telling him. “What do you mean incubus?”

Mark smiles. “I know what you are, because it is what I am.”

Phoenix stops his treadmill, and stares at Mark. “Why can't I feel you?” He has always been able to feel most demon, but always incubus.

“I am very good at hiding it.” Mark says. “If you are okay I am going to bed.”

Phoenix nods, and Mark walks away. He starts his treadmill on high and runs until he feels like he is going to pass out.

  ***

Jennifer awake to being alone in a large bed. She jumps up and sees that Phoenix is gone. Another strong kick in her stomach makes her moan, she gets two more then she starts to rub her stomach. Holy cow these little babies are strong.

She looks up as the door opens a little, and she sees Phoenix walk in. “Come here. I want you to feel this.” She can see him look at her.

  “Okay, did I wake you?”

He walks over to her, and she shakes her head. “No, your babies did.” He comes on the bed and places his hands on either side of her belly.

She gasps, and he chuckles. “They are strong.”

Jennifer smiles at him, and puts her hands on top of his. “Yes, and they don’t like sleeping at night, like you.” He lifts his head, and she can see him smiling at her.

“I went to go work out.” He says, and then narrows his eyes on her breast. “I couldn’t stop thinking about you sleeping naked next to me. So I went to burn that energy.” He says as he rubs his thumbs on her nipples. She moans, and bites her lip. “Darling if you weren’t so tired I would fuck you until you fell asleep, but you need your sleep.”
