Trusting Chance [Fate Harbor] (Siren Publishing Ménage Amour)

She kept kissing Chance, but she was much more aware of what Sam was doing. Finally, Chance let go of her ass, and brought his hands up to cup her face and their lips parted. He looked deep into her eyes. “How are you doing, Zee?”
The widest part of the head of Sam’s penis was trying to push through the muscle of her sphincter, and the burn and stretch was more than she expected. She just looked up at Chance, mute in expectation, then Sam was in and she sighed in relief and satisfaction.
“Zee?” She buried her face in Chance’s furred chest, breathing like she had just gone on a four-mile run.
“I’m good. Sam, I need more.” She wiggled back against him, and both men chuckled.
“Then it’s a good thing there’s more to give, huh, baby?” Sam pressed the rest of the way in, in one smooth stroke, and Josie moaned. Who knew there were so many nerve endings that connected your ass to your cunt? As if he could read her mind, Chance slid his hand down the front of her brace, over her tummy until he found the creamy center of her pussy, and he slid in. Then the men took over, moving in counterpoint. As Sam pushed into her ass, Chance pulled out of her pussy. Josie found herself rocking back and forth between the two, overwhelmed by all the stimulation, begging for more. More of what, she wasn’t sure, but she knew she needed more of something. Suddenly Chance was touching that blissful spot inside of her channel that always led to explosions. When she looked up at him, she saw him grinning down at her. He knew what he was doing.
“Better hurry, Sam, our girl isn’t going to last much longer.” Chance picked up the intensity of how he was stroking her G-spot, as Sam thrust in harder, making her nerves catch fire. She reached up and grabbed Chance by his shoulders, and bit him hard on his neck as she shot off again into the rapture of her orgasm. As she pulsed and pulsed and pulsed in pleasure she felt two things. First she felt the shudder of Sam’s release deep inside her, and she wished they weren’t using condoms. Then she felt a small glimmer of a laugh when she realized that her brace and tummy were covered in Chance’s semen, so apparently she had gotten her wish. She pulsed her final pulse of release and freefell into love-space.
Chapter 18
Josie sighed as she felt the last buckle of her brace release, and then she was softly jostled and lowered. She realized she was in Chance’s strong arms, and they were now in the big whirlpool bathtub. She blinked up at him and smiled.
“Hi, beautiful! We thought a bath was in order for a couple of reasons.” He grinned down at her. Josie felt heat suffuse her face, and then realized Chance was blushing as well.
“I expect you to clean up my brace,” she teased.
“Oh that’s a given, Zee. But in my defense, that whole thing was hot, and then when you bit me? Well how much is a man supposed to be able to take?”
Josie reached up and saw that there were actual bite marks where Chance’s neck met his shoulder. “I’m so sorry. Did I hurt you really bad?” Josie looked contritely into his eyes.
Chance reached up and touched his neck and winced, biting his lower lip, cutting his eyes away from hers.
“Chance, I did hurt you. I’m so sorry.” Josie kneeled up in the tub, and reached up to tentatively touch the bite mark on Chance’s neck.
“Jesus, Josie, you’re going to actually fall for that, when he exploded all over you like a volcano when you bit him? You’re going to have to learn not to fall for his bullshit, honey, or he’ll be yanking your chain every minute of the day.” Josie’s head swiveled from Sam back to Chance and saw Chance working to contain his laughter. She splashed him hard, hoping bath salts got into his eyes.
“You–you–jerk. I was really worried about you.”
“I know, that’s what made it so awesome!” He climbed out between laughs.
Sam came up behind her, gliding his fingers through the mass of curls he and Chance had clipped to the top of her head. Then he knelt down beside the tub and rubbed his cheek against hers. “You sore, baby?”
Josie wiggled down into the jetted bubbles, and snuggled back against Sam. “A little, but this should take care of things,” she rushed to assure him. He softly bit the shell of her ear.
“I think the tub and a couple of days of rest from that kind of play should take care of things,” Sam replied, as Josie yawned.
“Let’s negotiate tomorrow,” she said. “I vote for one day of rest, but if we negotiate tonight, I’ll lose.”
“Good thinking.” Sam rubbed the end of her nose with his, scooped her dripping body up out of the tub, and they got ready for bed. The last thing Josie remembered, as she cuddled between her men, is that she never had felt so safe in her entire life.
* * * *
This was the first morning that Josie successfully sneaked out to work without waking them. She was happy that they were going to get a bit more sleep. They weren’t used to being up at two in the morning to bake confections for a bakery, but she’d been doing it for years. Plus—she snickered—it was kind of cute to see the two of them in the bed together. She wondered if they would cuddle. It would serve Chance right if they did.
By the time she arrived at Sweet Dream Desserts, her coffee had kicked in, and she was enjoying her time alone with the scent of the dough. There was something so comforting about making tangible offerings for people. She put a large part of the dough into the automatic kneader, but still took a portion to knead by hand, enjoying the ritual. Three hours later, Elise arrived to find that Josie had everything ready to go into the ovens. Josie left her to it and went to her apartment to change into her yoga clothes and drive to the lake.
She was halfway through her workout when she saw Sam making his way toward her. He looked so good in just running shorts. She flushed, vividly remembering last night and the way he had filled her. He stopped in front of her, bent over, and gave her a sweaty kiss. She reveled in the musky flavor, her own responsiveness serving to amp it up. “Missed waking up with you this morning,” he mumbled in his hushed tone, in keeping with the burgeoning dawn. He knelt down in position with her, and they flowed through the last moves together, until the dawn bathed the skies in hazy pinks and lilacs.
“I love it here. I love how clear the air is and all the different shades of green.” Josie’s hand floated over the soft feathers of grass next to her yoga mat. “In summer, do you go swimming in the lake?”
“All the time. The water is still pretty cold, but on hot days, it feels like heaven.” They watched as the mist slowly burned away from the lake’s surface, and Josie reluctantly rose to roll up her mat.
“Let me.” Sam stilled her hand, and rolled up her mat for her, picking up her bag and ushering her to her car.
“I forgot to tell you, a bunch of folks are meeting for dinner at Dolce Vita tonight at six. I know that’s kind of late for you, but would you be up for it for a while? Kara and Karen will be there, and those damn firemen.”
“Yeah, that sounds good…especially knowing the firemen will be there,” Josie said demurely. Sam helped her into the car, and buckled her seat belt. “I really like it when you do that,” Josie admitted.
“I really like taking care of you. And I really, really like it when you let me care for you. I know you don’t have to, so I appreciate you’re giving me that gift, Josie.” Sam leaned in and gave her a warm kiss that she felt down to her toes. “Drive safe, baby.”
By the time Josie was showered and dressed for work, the smell of cinnamon rolls and donuts permeated the shop. They were four deep in customers and she was surprised to find Jace among the crowd. She stepped out from behind the counter and asked if she could help him, knowing that it must be important to take him away from the diner during their busiest time of morning.
“Karen’s been craving chocolate donuts, and she’s flat out cranky about it, so I decided to make a quick run.” Josie went around behind the display counter, got a bagful she had readied and handed it to him. When he raised an eyebrow, she waved him off. “We’ve had a run on chocolate donuts lately, so
I’ve been prepacking them. They’re on the house. Now get back to cooking.” She didn’t explain that for the last three days Kara had sent Walter, the busboy, over for her fix. Josie hoped that this meant Kara’s hopes had been realized and she was going to be a mom.
Four o’clock came around fast, so Elise, Rob, and Josie closed up. For most of the day, she and Elise stayed in the back cranking out special order cakes, and despite the fact that she enjoyed the work, she hated missing out on all the fun in the front of the store. It also made her back hurt a lot more by the day’s end. Although Chance and Sam hadn’t complained about the fact that she was putting in fourteen hour days, she could see it worried them. More importantly, it was beginning to worry her. Even with the addition of Rob, her bakery was bringing in forty percent more profit than she had projected, so working this many hours was really foolish. She’d kick her sister’s asses if they were doing something like this.
Before she could talk herself out of it, she placed a call to the Fate Harbor newspaper’s classifieds and posted a help wanted ad. Then she made her way to Chance and Sam’s house, the house she was beginning to think of as home. Chance opened the door for her as she walked up the steps.
“Sam’s at basketball practice. He said he’d meet us at the restaurant.” Chance swooped in for a lingering kiss.
“So, how do you plan to occupy our time before we have to leave? As if I didn’t know.” Josie smiled.
“Zee, I’m hurt. I don’t always think with my penis. We’re going to have a fashion show. I did some internet shopping a few days ago, and we have some great choices for you to wear tonight.” He pulled her down the hall to their bedroom.
“Chance, you really are out of your damn mind. I have only worn three of the ten outfits that are currently in that closet, as it is.” She saw four dresses spread out on the bed, each one prettier than the last.
“I’m not out of my damn mind. Spoiling you is something that really makes me happy. I love seeing your eyes snap as you think of all the reasons you shouldn’t accept the presents. Then I love to see how you melt a little because I just know, you’ve rarely gotten presents and deep down inside, you like getting them.”
He was right, that was exactly how she felt. Josie walked over to the bed, and trailed her fingers over the dress closest to her. It was a caramel halter at the top that faded into a soft white gold at the bottom. It intimidated her a little, because it looked so formfitting. Her eyes flitted over to Chance.
“You’ll look beautiful,” he assured her. “Let’s get you in it.” She saw that he had placed a tray with strawberries and white wine on the table near the window. “Sit down on the bed,” he said while bringing her a glass of wine. As she took the glass, Chance knelt to take off her shoes. He acted as her personal valet, while feeding her strawberries and sips of wine. Her defenses collapsed into giggles as the costume changes progressed. He had made one really wrong choice. The bright green wrap dress clashed with her skin tone, but the other three made her feel gorgeous. It was the golden halter dress that she chose to wear, with a brand new cashmere coat in the same lush caramel tones that made her chocolate eyes command attention. By the time they were done, they had just enough time to make it to the restaurant on time.
“Tomorrow afternoon, I plan to be thinking with my penis,” Chance promised her, as they walked out to his car.
“How appropriate, because my pussy had already penciled in some time about then for thinking about your penis.” She smiled cheekily at him. “See, it’s right here on her calendar app!” Josie flashed her cell phone at Chance, baiting him. She was truly happy that she had placed the ad for additional help at Sweet Dream.
At the restaurant, they joined a group of fifteen people, and Josie recognized over half of them. Sam greeted her and took her coat, his hand drifting over the halter of her dress. “I see Chance has been shopping again,” he murmured.
“Hey, I’m a girl! I might have gone shopping,” Josie protested. When Sam just stared at her, she sighed. “I think he might be a shopaholic. There has to be some kind of rehab program we can enter him into.”
“Nah, as long as he has such good taste, he doesn’t have to go to rehab.” He brushed a kiss against her cheek, and then drew her over to the table. “I want to introduce you to everyone.” Chance came up on her other side, and as she approached the table, the conversation paused.
“This is our Josie,” Chance said.
“Don’t I know that.” Dane laughed good-naturedly, as he rubbed his jaw.
“Josie, you know Ian and Joshua, and you remember Dane and Eric Johansen and their sister, Kara. Well, this gentleman is their brother, Leif Jr., and to his right are their parents, Isla, Leif Sr., and Conner Johansen.”
“I should be able to at least remember this is the Johansen contingent, even if I don’t get everyone’s first names right.” Even the women in this clan were close to six feet tall, all of them crowned with the white-gold hair of their ancestry.
“Yeah, Josie, nobody ever gets the last name wrong,” Conner agreed. He, Leif Sr., and Leif Jr. all stood to shake her hand. Sitting next to Isla were Elise and Ed and yet another man sat between them and the Hutchinses. He stood up and introduced himself as Caleb Samuels. He was even darker than Josie, his large hand swallowing Josie’s whole, and he gazed at her in appreciation. She felt Sam’s arm close around her shoulder possessively.
“Samuels, it’s good to see you again. I didn’t realize you were retiring,” Sam said.
“Four tours seemed like enough,” the big man said. “Leif and I are starting up an auto body shop here.”
“You grew up here, didn’t you?” Chance asked.
“My dad was a lumberjack, so Mom and I followed him between here and Alaska. After a while Mom settled us here, and Dad came back when he could. That’s how Leif and I became such good friends.”
“Were you in the same unit overseas?” Chance inquired.
“Yeah, we enlisted together.” Josie heard Isla mutter something but couldn’t make out the words. Elise patted her hand.
“The only other people I don’t think you’ve met here are the Hendersons. Their son Kyle is on my team. Bob and Vera.” Bob stood up to shake Josie’s hand. “Sam is a great coach, but I knew he would be. I played pickup games with him over at the firehouse. It was Joshua’s, Dane’s, and my idea that he take over coaching the team, when that jerk Floyd bailed on us.”
“Kyle loves Sam,” Vera assured Josie. “Floyd always made him feel like he was bad at basketball, but now he feels better about himself and he’s playing better. It’s amazing what a little confidence does for a child.” It didn’t just work for children, Josie thought.
“We saved you seats down here.” Karen waved to Josie. They sat down next to Jace, Dale, and Karen. Josie was not surprised to see her friend drinking soda instead of wine. She looked over at Kara, and indicated Karen’s drink of choice, and Kara lifted her glass in a toast. Josie knew better than to ask. She figured when Karen was ready, she’d share her news. By nine o’clock she was yawning and Sam and Chance were saying good-bye to everyone. She was so tired that she only said good-bye to the people sitting closest to her, and she felt rude.
Sitting in the car going home, she fell asleep, and didn’t wake up until Sam lifted her up to carry her into the house. “Can walk,” she muttered.
“I know, but you’ve had wine and it’s way past your bedtime.” He set her down in the bathroom, so she could take her evening shower. She would have preferred to shower together, but she just didn’t have it in her.
“This pace needs to stop,” Sam was saying as she stepped back into the bedroom.
“Hey, let’s get into bed, and I’ll tell you some good news,” she said right before a huge yawn overtook her. She plopped down on the left side, and Sam nudged her over until she was in the middle of the bed. Chance arranged it so her leg was over his leg, and Sam spooned her from the back, and she was now in the perfect position to go to sleep. Sh
e shut her eyes.
“What’s your news, sleepyhead?” Chance prompted.
“Put ad, newspaper, wanted help. Not work so much.” Sam and Chance both broke into wide grins.
“I bow to you, brother. You said she would come to the realization on her own, and she did. Chance, how do you know these things?” Sam asked.
“I shall never reveal my secrets, brother. Just rest your pretty little head, and know that I am the Mystic One,” Chance chided.

Two days before her sisters arrived, Josie hired the perfect employee. He had been a baker for the Matushkas who decided to retire when they had sold their bakery. He found, however, that retirement did not agree with his needs to keep his hands busy, so when he saw Josie’s ad in the paper, he immediately applied. His name was Bill Jessop, and he was used to working the 2:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. shift, which was perfect. This would free Josie to spend more time with Sarah and Becca.
Karen called shortly after Bill was hired to share a good-news-bad-news message with Josie. Fate Harbor’s spring break social event that included a huge dance was coming up. Hart’s Diner usually catered it, so that put Sweet Dream on point to provide all of the desserts. The dance would provide a great opportunity for her sisters to meet everybody in town, and to see firsthand Fate Harbor’s loving and open community. The downside was that for the two days prior to the event, Josie would be very busy, even with Bill’s addition to her staff.
