“I’ve got great news. My photographs are being featured in an upcoming edition of Wildlife International. This is huge!”
“Congratulations! It’s not a picture of me is it?”
She swatted his arm. “No wolves. A deer. Although you would make a beautiful spread…”
“Not a chance in hell,” he replied. “I’ve got news too.”
She pulled back to look at him. “You know where Greg went on vacation?”
Ty frowned. “No.”
She cursed her mistake. “Oh, never mind. Continue.”
“Back up to Greg. What do mean by went?”
“He left this morning. Margaret won’t tell me, and he blocked me from seeing the itinerary on his account.”
Ty cursed. “Damn him. The sneaky bastard.”
Tolly snuggled against him. “But tell me your news.”
“I sold the firewall.” He glanced at his watch. “By this time tomorrow, I’ll be pretty decently rich.”
“Why did you sell? I know it’s not the money.”
Ty cupped her shoulders. “I did it so everyone would be safe. Jackson. You. Greg. It’s going to a good home. I made the right decision.”
“And no one will come after you?” she questioned. Fear for his safety is what drove her.
“They might, but it would be pointless. Without the plans, I can’t recreate it. It took years to perfect my design, and I’ve only made one successful prototype. Without my notes, I’d never be able to make another.”
“Wow.” She lifted her head for a kiss, delighting when he obliged her. “Thanks for the flowers. I wanted to bring them home, but I couldn’t on the Harley.”
He chuckled. “I’ll send a bouquet there next time.”
“How did you know I liked flowers?”
He winked at her. “I have my secrets.”
“You sure do.”
And she was going to enjoy cracking every single one of them.
