Dora pulled back, her grin shifted to mischief as she said, “Don’t you think you’re a bit overdressed for moping around on the ship’s deck like this?”
“Oh, you….” I said playfully nudging her shoulder.
Dora brushed the tears that were streaming down my face and we laughed.
Chicago, Madrid, Madrid, Chicago, did it really matter where we landed? If we were together, the rest would somehow work itself out.

Later, much later as I held Carmen in the tiny bed located in the economy cabin on the lower level of The Emerald Majesty, she asked, “When did you realize that you were into me?”
I could feel the warmth of her unclothed body against mine. Flashes of her, of us, of everything that carried us to that moment flickered before me. I considered her question with careful thought.
“Hmm.” I said through a toothy grin. “Remember that first breakfast we shared?” I asked.
Carmen nodded.
“I caught you staring at my breasts. I realized you had impeccable taste and I knew in that moment, I just had to have you.”
Carmen rolled her eyes, grinned sheepishly and her face reflected an endearing shade of blush. “So, you caught me doing that, did you?” She chuckled.
After a few breaths of silence, I asked, “And you?”
“Well of course as you know, your breasts seemed to beckon me right off…but when I really knew it was more than just a crush… that came after we’d been to the club that first time. I was wearing your black dress and I’d returned to the suite joining you on the sofa, remember?”
I nodded.
“I placed my head on your shoulder. There was something ever so right about us together like that. We fit.”
Carmen then added, “It may have taken me a while to come around, but you are the love of my life and I never intend to let you go.”
I felt great emotion. “I love you Carmen.” I whispered to her. I then decided to make use of that small bed to show her just how much I did.
