Traces Of Me

“The lips of an angel awaken the beast,” he said, remembering the first time she woke him with a kiss. She remembered too.
“You are not a beast, you slept beside me and I think that is the sweetest thing you could have done,” she repeated her words from that moment not so long ago. He kissed her, pressing his lips a little firmer, wanting her to know he still desired her. She melted into him then pulled back. She had one more thing to do to lift her darkness.
“I have to see my parents while I’m here,” she said, surprising Josh by her words but he understood.
“I haven’t been here since I buried them five years ago,” she told Josh as she straightened her shoulders and walked towards their graves. She gripped Josh’s hand, wanting him to come with her. She needed his support. As she stood in the middle of them, she released Josh and knelt down beside her mother’s headstone.
“It’s over now mommy, the monster is dead and I am free. I have the money. I wouldn’t let her have it. I miss you,” she cried. She took a deep breath then wiped her eyes, glancing up at Josh standing back a little from her, giving her space. She looked back down at the stone and smiled.
“I’m in love mom, to not only an extremely handsome man but an incredibly thoughtful and caring man. I’ve been so lucky to have him. He means the world to me,” she said. She turned slowly to her father’s grave. She was still so angry at him, it was his fault for bringing Marie into their lives but she knew she had to forgive if she was to go on.
“I forgive you daddy, but you better be taking good care of my mother up there and if you see a man named Jay, can you be kind to him. Tell him I forgive him too,” she sighed. She knew she would never really be able to fill the hole in her heart that their deaths had created but as she stood and said good bye she felt a little more solid. Josh took her hand as she curled into his strong chest. He was her rock, her protection and her warm safe haven.
Charlotte felt lighter as they flew back to New York, back to her home. They were in first class again. Josh was reading when she looked over at him, a blush crossing her cheeks as she remembered their first flight together. He felt her stare and caught her blush. He grinned, so relieved to see her coming back to him. He’s been patient, gentle with her, giving her time to heal and mourn but he has missed her.
He knows without a doubt how much he loves her. Seeing that gun pointed at her face took the life out of him. His heart couldn’t handle losing her.
“Come here baby,” he whispers, his bright eyes holding hers. She moves towards him, craving his touch, needing him more than she knew. He easily slid her onto his lap and ran his hands down her back. He’s thrilled to feel her tremble at his touches again. He lightly kisses her lips and she presses her mouth closer to his, parting her lips for him. His excitement grows as his tongue explores her mouth again, his hunger showing through. He moves his lips on hers eager to explore more of her. He lightly licks her bottom lip, making her moan softly. When they finally release, she’s breathing heavily, wishing they had curtains on this flight.
“I love you Charlotte. I’m the lucky one to have found you,” he tells her, keeping his eyes on hers as his finger grazes her cheek. She runs her fingers over his stubble and his soft lips.
“I love you Josh,” she kisses him again, never wanting to be parted from him again.

One More Lie
I wasn’t looking for love, I was seeking one man and for one reason only.
I needed an investor and everything in me believed Justin Dimon was the one to ask.
I was willing to beg, to offer all I could to keep the family business out of the hands of my father’s oldest rival. He had been through so much pain, I couldn’t sit back and do nothing.
I fled to the enemy, working under his watchful eye as I built up my courage to offer Dimon a deal.
Meeting Jagger Davis wasn't part of the plan.
He was a distraction.
He consumed my thoughts and my time, which I didn't have much of. Over and over, I told myself to let this delicious, beautiful man go so I could get what I came here for, but I couldn’t.
Even when doubts began to swim in my head, when things about him just didn’t add up, I still couldn't walk away.
I was addicted to him, to his touch, his sexy as sin grin
and his lies.
Jude’s Salvation (This Love #1)
Jude
I can’t take my eyes from her, she’s standing in front of her bedroom window and looking up at the night sky. So many nights I have wished I was up there with her, holding her in my arms, running my fingers through her hair and looking into those deep hazel eyes.
I held her once and she slept in my arms. She made me feel like I was hers and she was mine. Something inside me still believes this. A part of me that continues to love her still believes she will return to me. I will watch out for her until then from a distance.
I will make sure her past never finds her again, regardless of my deep buried desire for her I will stay hidden. At least that is what I planned but sometimes fate has other ideas.
Eden’s Weakness (This Love #2)
Eden
I listen to his voice and my eyes close. I only want to hear him, not the music, not my friends, just his voice.
I’ve heard his voice before, it feels like a delicious dream, my cheek resting against a warm solid chest. A comfort in the cold. He brushes my hair back from my face and kisses my forehead. He eases my fears, he is an angel, he was my savior.
My eyes flutter open, a panic rushing through me. I don’t know the owner of this voice and why I would have such a vivid dream in a bar frightens me. I glance around the table and thankfully no one has noticed my temporary insanity.
