It was getting dark when Chip was about to put The Driller sketch under a rock by Timber’s gravestone and he looked up and saw the orange eyes looking at him from the dogwood bush.
Chip grinned and shouted, “Shadow!”
The wolfdog walked over from the bush and Chip bent down as she reached him.
“You did good, girl,” Chip said softly, stroked her majestic head. “You did real good.”
Shadow wagged her tail.
