He smiled down at her. “I think we’ve finally reached a truce.”
“I’ll bake you a peace offering later... when I can move.”
“Save it for the bakery... The only sweet I want to eat is you.”
Kayleigh smiled sleepily. “I’ll hold you to that later... much later.”
Patrick watched her drift off to sleep, a sated smile curving her lips. He’d taken a chance, but he couldn’t regret it. He could stop pretending to be her enemy and could show her everything he felt for her. Everything finally felt right with his world. All it took was a little bit of luck and a hell of a lot of snow.
