I’m still feeling a little nervous about our situation when I tell him, “Last week without you was a living nightmare. I had no appetite and sleeping more than a few hours at a time was impossible. I missed you so much Adam.”
His tone is softer now. “I know. It wasn’t easy for me either, I couldn’t think straight. Violet, I mean it, we can’t go down this road again, okay?” I nod yes as he serves me a large helping of food before serving himself. The taste is outstanding and I realize how hungry I am as I begin to eat. I look up to see Adam looking at me and the feeling that runs through me is I love him. The thought of losing him is unbearable to me.
He asks, “Tell me more about Gia.” The gates open as I go on to share with him some of my fantasies. It makes sense to me that I would choose to share them with Adam and not anyone else. Maybe the events of this week were meant to be. Adam listens intensely. We’ve both shared a secret with each other now.
“So, Gia belongs to the prince? She succumbs to his will?” he asks, very anxious to hear my response.
“Yes and they also care for each other.”
“There is no doubt that I care about you Violet.” He lifts my chin upward so I am looking into those lovely dark blue eyes. I want to kiss him, but I don’t.
“I care about you too. I love you Adam.” He then kisses me gently on the lips.
He says again, “I really do care about you Violet. I also enjoy control, and even live for it. I hope you fully understand what you are offering me, do you?”
“Yes, I have offered myself willingly to you. You didn’t ask this of me. I want us to be together, Adam.”
“I am an intelligent man, Violet, and therefore enjoy exploration. My intrigue with you has just tripled. I hope you won’t change your mind a month from now and run away again. There won’t be any turning back if you do.”
“No Adam. The heart-wrenching pain of this week will be a constant reminder to me of how much I love and need you. I’m sure of it.”
“This past week has been challenging for me too. Even though I missed you, I shut down the thought of being together after what happened and what you said to me. It was hurtful. You really did get to me, Violet. I find myself giving you chances that I wouldn’t with anyone else.” He kisses my lips gently and says, “Okay, let’s try it your way. I can’t let this opportunity with you slip away. The chemistry between us is the best I’ve ever experienced. You have cast some spell over me I think.” He takes my hand and kisses it. He is being honest with me and it makes me feel glad that I stayed and didn’t run away again. We finish eating and clear the table together. Adam smiles at me and I kiss him. He wraps his arms around me and pulls me close. It feels so good. He whispers in my ear, “I really missed you, Violet.”
After a while of just holding each other, he says, “I look forward to spending time with Gia. It’ll be exciting for both of us, I’m sure of it. Are you ready for that?”
“Yes, I am ready Adam. It’s what I want too.” My heart is racing with excitement and fear of what Adam has in mind for me.
After dinner we sit and talk for a while longer. I feel thankful we are together and will do my best to win him back completely. Both exhausted, we eventually head upstairs to go to sleep and as I turn towards the spare bedroom he says, “No Violet, you’re not sleeping in there. You belong to me now.”
