The Yes Girl Page 14

by Michelle Maris

Nick comes in, takes off his shirt, drops his shorts to the ground, and tosses them on the chair in the corner. He lifts the sheet and slips in next to me. He moves closer and kisses my mouth. “Sleep.” He says.

He switches off the bedside lamp, the room is dark. Nick moves his hands around my body as I slide my leg between his.

  Sleep.

I wake as I feel his hands move up and down the length of my body. I barely open my eyes out of my deep sleep. The room is pitched black; it must be the middle of the night. I feel Nick hard against my leg. He breathes into my neck and whispers my name. I know what he wants, and though I am half asleep, I want it too. He moves his mouth away from my ear and travels down to my breast. His warm tongue sucks on my nipple. My wet warm skin pulses between my thighs. My breathing becomes more rapid as he continues. His fingers manipulate the other nipple, as rake my fingers through his hair. He glides his hand down over my skin, and I separate my thighs as his fingers deftly slide between my legs. Nick moves a finger inside of me and brings it out covering me with my wetness. I moan as my body responds to his touch.

He shifts, so his weight is on top of me. He nuzzles his head by my ear and with a deep raspy voice, he tells me to spread my legs further. He moves both my arms over my head and pins them there with his hands. I feel the head of his erection at my opening and the small movement makes me ache deep in my belly. He trusts in deeper and pulls out all the way. Again he moves inside me going deeper this time and then all the way out, again.

I hear myself beg. “Please Nick.”

He thrusts in but pushes hard and deep inside me causing me to gasp. He continues over and over again. My orgasm builds and just when I think I will break, I am empty again. “Nick, please fuck me.”

Nick fills me quickening the pace and I feel the build up under my skin, it moves down my legs to my toes and back up again. My orgasm takes control of my entire body and I let out a loud gasp followed by a soft purr. Nick tightens down hard on my body as he comes inside of me. I feel his body shaking and hear my name through his ragged breathing.

  Sleep again.

My eyes open as music plays from my iPod. I stretch my arms out in front of me and look around. Nick doesn’t move. I turn off the alarm, lift his arm off of me and move from my bed. Before I make it into my bathroom, I hear Nick.

“Where are you going?” He asks within a yawn.

  “For a run.”

“Do you mind if I go with you?” He asks.

“Not at all. I’d enjoy it.”

We don’t talk while we dress. I finish before Nick, and I watch as he laces his sneakers. When he is done, we head outside. The morning is humid but the damp air is refreshing. This is my favorite time of the day. The birds are noisy as they gather their breakfast, the dew moves down the blades of grass, and the air smells sweet. The world wakes.

Nick and I breathe hard as we make our way down the road. Nick follows my lead through the neighborhoods. There is a place in my town where pavement meets a dirt road and the dirt road is surrounded by a reservoir. The town turned the path along the reservoir into a bike and runner’s path years ago. “Nick, I go to the end of this path then turn back. It’s about another two miles, are you up for it?”

“Yes, I feel great.” Nick pants.

When we see my house in the distance, we stop and walk the rest of the way.

“That felt amazing. Now I know how you can eat the way you eat, yet your body looks like that.” Nick points to my body, and I give him a small punch to the arm.

“I run almost every morning. I love the fresh air, and how it makes me feel.”

  “It’s beautiful out here.”

“I’m lucky. I have the best of both worlds. I enjoy living in the suburbs and working in the city.”

“You have the best of both worlds, and it just got better, because now you’ll have my brownstone to stay at when we feel like doing the city overnight.”

I say nothing. I choose to just smile. I'm still uncomfortable thinking in relationship mode. I also can’t allow myself to get too hopeful this early in the relationship.

When we arrive home, we take our sneakers off in the foyer. I pour us water while he heads right for the shower. In the bathroom, Nick is naked. I hand him water and he drinks it down. He places the glass down on the marble counter top and examines me as if deciding what to do next.

He lifts my sports bra over my head and rolls my sweaty shorts down to my ankles. He takes me in the shower and under the water kisses me. Nick moves me up against the shower wall and kisses me all over drinking in water and my sweat. He turns me around and with one arm around my waist; he trails his hand down over me. His fingers rub my clit as my breasts press into the tile wall. I feel my body give into him and just as I orgasm, he takes his knee and nudges my legs apart.

With that, he is deep inside of me. He breathes heavily on the back of my neck while he thrusts hard inside me from behind. My arms spread out on the wall above my head. He wraps his around me and reaches hand between my legs and circles my clit. His other hand grips onto my shoulder for leverage as he pushes into me. I orgasm a second time and then I feel him pumping hard inside of me, filling me, as he moans into the back of my neck. His body falls heavy against me and we stand there for a few minutes recovering.

Nick peels himself off me, takes my hand, and brings me under the water with him. We shower slowly and quietly. Nick turns off the water and stands in front of me. He looks down at me and kisses my forehead.

“I’m starving. Do you do breakfast?” He asks.

“Do I do breakfast? I never intentionally skip a meal. Workdays I do a protein shake. Would you like one?”

“Yes, please, if you’re making one for yourself. I’m going to shave.”

I step out and dry off. I wrap myself in my robe and head out to the kitchen. It’s nice to have someone other than myself to do things for.

We make up for the lack of conversation earlier this morning in our car ride into work. I talk about the various projects I’m working on while Nick asks very direct questions. He shows interest in how I cultivate my storyline for each product. I explain to him how most of my ideas are based on sex or humor. “I can find sex and humor in almost any situation.”

Then he asks a very curious question, one I wasn’t expecting. “How do you really feel about Joe?”

I turn to look at him, “Why are you asking me that? You know we are good friends. We’ve been loyal to each other for years, longer than some marriages last.”

Nick reaches down and rubs my arm as it rests on the console. “I know. I’m just worried about him.”

“I know we talked about it, but I don’t know how to approach it. And with everything that happened over the past two weeks, I don’t think I’m in the right frame of mind to figure it out now.”

“We’ll keep an eye on him. I just hope he reaches out if he needs help.” Nick is so aware, so steady I can see why he amassed such success. He’s not impulsive. He is very deliberate in the way he handles things.

As we pull into the parking garage, I look around to make sure no one I work with is in eyeshot. Nick parks the car, and I reach for the door handle, but Nick reaches for my arm, “Wait, I want to kiss you first.”

I smile. Nick brushes the side of my neck with his hand and with the other, he moves up my thigh under my skirt as he kisses me on my mouth. His touch makes my skin quiver and I feel it between my legs. He creates an ache in me that can only be satisfied one way, him inside of me. After a long sensual kiss, he moves his mouth off of mine, “Okay, now you can go.”

I smile again and give him a quick peck on the tip his nose. Before I close the door behind me, I bend down and look at him right where I left him, “I’ll see you this afternoon at the meeting.”

“Are you going to sit up front next to me?” He asks

“Probably not.” I wink and close the door quickly. I can hear a faint laugh coming from his car.

  I tr
y to keep it business as usual, as I begin my day, though I feel very distracted by everything that happened. Jill follows behind me as soon as I enter my office. “Alex, we have a lot to do before this afternoon’s meeting, have you come up with any ideas to pitch?”

  “We’ve got some ideas.”

“God, Alex, you always stress me out, but as long as you can pull it off in the meeting were good.”

“Jill, don’t we always pull it off?” I laugh. “I’ll be ready by two thirty.”

“You better be, we have a new boss to impress.”

“Jill, no worries, he’ll be impressed.” I smile as I think about the sex Nick and I shared in the shower this morning.

Jill stops. Her facial expression changes. “You’re fucking him.”

How did she come up with that? I try to deny it, “Jill, you’re crazy. What are you talking about?”

In her most solid Staten Island accent Jill calls me out, “You’re fucking him. Ya know tragedy always brings people tagether.”

I don’t even bother trying to deny it. I need to tell her. “Yes, Jill, Nick and I are sleeping together.”

“Oh my God, tell me everything. He’s so fucking hot. You lucky bitch!”

“Jill, I can’t. It’s awkward enough, no details. No details!”

“All right, all right, no details, except one… Is his dick as hot as the rest of him.”

“Yes.” I am sure I flush crimson.

“God blesses few people with everything, but when He does it, He does it right.” Jill embraces me, “You deserve it, Alex. Don’t forget that.”

I am deep in thought when Jill knocks on my office door. “Are you ready?”

“Yep, let’s go.” I grab what I need, and Jill and I head to the conference room.

Nick isn’t there yet. Jill and I take our seats at the far end of the table. There are bottles of HARMONY sports drinks in front of every seat. The entire creative team is jacked, more so than ever. I’m sure they all want to be acknowledged by the new owners because this is a Ryan and Ryan account. Today’s meeting is the day to do it. Harmony sports drink is huge. The amount of money going to launch this campaign puts it at the top of all the other accounts. Everyone seems keyed up and raring to present their ideas. Restless chatter fills the space while we wait for the meeting to begin.

Nick enters the conference room with Joe and Marjorie, Nick’s secretary. Nick takes his place at the head of the table and she sits next to him. Nick scans the room. His eyes lock on me, and he smiles.

Nick wastes no time getting started, “So we all know why we are here, let’s just jump in. I worked with Alex and she feels confident that the team created an excellent campaign and I’m looking forward to seeing it. After we’ll discuss any fine tuning, it may need or if we need to go back to the drawing board altogether.”

Everyone looks in my direction since I am the one that usually runs the show.

We spend weeks pooling our ideas to come up with one solid campaign. I stand and prepare my laptop. I press a few keys and the song “Always” by Erasure plays through the conference room, “Always I want to be with you… and live in Harmony, Harmony.”

An image of a very sexy, beautiful, tanned athletic woman, girl if you will, pops up on the screen hanging from the wall. Images of her are fragmented showing only parts of her face, parts of her body, it’s cut, tight, she hikes, runs, climbs a hill, skis down mountains, beads of sweat glisten on her tanned skin and travel down her body, sounds of snow swishing against skis, we can hear her breathing, its strong and steady, sometimes rapid. Then screen shots show parts of her body, beads of sweat trailing down her skin, and then it breaks off, and shows an ice cold bottle of Harmony sports drink mimicking her perspiration…beads of water sweating on the bottle, running down the bottle and camera goes back to the beads of sweat running down her body.

I lower the volume on the song playing in the background. “We could do different seasons with the various activities in short scenes, but always showing the intensity of each workout. We can hear her breathing, see her sweating, working hard, THIRSTY. She comes to the end of her intense workouts. There is her bottle of Harmony Sports Drink. The Tag Line: Harmony Sports Drink - It will meet you where you are. Since the target audience is both men and women, I think we appeal to both by using a beautiful woman as the focus; Men want her, women want to be her.”

I sit down and turn to Jill looking for some sign of approval. She looks like a proud mother.

Nick doesn’t move. He gazes at me but has no reaction. Joe glances at him and then at me, “Well, I love it. It’s very sexy. It will get people’s attention. Nick, what do you think?”

Everybody stops and waits for Nick’s reaction. “I think it’s what we’re looking for. We should move forward with that idea, do a focus group on the tag line.” He says.

Joe gathers his papers and stands, “Good work everyone. The team will start fine tuning it first thing in the morning, and I’ll let legal know we need permission to use that song.”

I walk out as everyone still gathers. Nick has already left, presumably, has lawyer business to attend. Befuddled by his lack of reaction, I just want to go back to my office. I can’t wait to see him tonight…only two more hours. I’ll ask him then what that was about.

I open the door to my refuge. I gasp and press my hand to my chest.

  Nick waits in my office.

  “Hello, Alexandra.”

“Nick, is everything okay?” My skin grows hot as his stare penetrates my body.

“Alex, tell Jill you do not wish to be disturbed then lock the door and come here.” He leans up against my desk as his hands grip the edge.

I stick my head outside my office door, “Jill, I need a few minutes.” I gesture with my hand a slicing motion across my neck. Jill mouths Nick’s name while pointing to my office.

I close and lock the door and walk towards him as I get closer he separates his legs and reaches his hands out for mine. He pulls me in between his legs and rubs his hands up and down my hips.

“I like seeing you work, I had to leave, or everyone would have known how much I like seeing you work.”

I feign innocence, “I’m sorry about that.” I bite my lower lip.

“Please, don’t be sorry, I quite enjoyed it. But now I find myself in a slight predicament,” Nick pulls me closer.

“Maybe it’s not much of predicament; maybe there’s an easy fix. Is there anything I can do to help?”

“I’m glad you asked, Alexandra. I’d like you to turn around.”

  Oh, my!

I turn and Nick moves his hands under my skirt and lifts it over my hips. He palms my behind and circles his hand over my silk panties. He shoves his hand between my thighs and moves the crotch of my panties to one side using his finger. He glides his fingers front to back between my legs.

“Alex, you are so warm and wet.” His says.

I no longer feel him as I hear him unzip his pants. I need this man to fill me right now. He grabs both my hips and shifts me back to him. I squat on his lap. With a slight adjustment, he pushes inside of me, filling me. He guides my hips up and down; I dig my three-inch heels into the rug beneath them while I grip his muscular thighs. Nick moans, and we both quicken the pace.

Within seconds, I come trying to be as quiet as possible as I feel him pumping inside of me. We stop, and Nick wraps his arms around my waist while he rests his head on my back. I lift off of him. He hisses at the sudden movement but then grabs me and turns me to face him. He pulls my skirt down and attempts to smooth it out. He holds my face in his hands and kisses my mouth.

“I have a meeting; I’ll text you later when I’m back.” He tucks his cock into his brief and zips up his pants.

Nick is gone, in walks Jill. “Could he be any sexier?”

“I don’t think so.” Though I have done little dating, working in the city means there is always an opportunity to be around men. The men you work with, the men you commute with, a
nd the men you meet while having lunch, but I can easily and honestly admit I have never met a man as sexy as Nick.

I straighten my skirt and take a seat behind my desk. Jill lounges on the couch hands stretched across the back of it. “How did it happen?”

I look up from my desk. “How did what happen?”

  “You and Nick.”

I hesitate before I answer unsure if I should tell Jill the truth, or just partial truth.

I decide on partial truth. “Like you said Jill, tragedy brings people together.”

“It’s beautiful.” Jill looks up to the ceiling then back. “Hey, what are you going to tell that guy you met at the wedding?”

I try to act oblivious. “What guy?”

“What guy? The most incredible night of your life, guy!” Jill persists.

“I hadn’t thought about it, and quite honestly, I must have been out of practice or just desperate because the second night we were together, it wasn’t as mind-blowing.” Wow! I’m impressed with my lying self.

“I can see how that happens.” Jill doesn’t suspect a thing. “I’m happy for you, Alex. I always worry about you. Now I can relax.”

“Jill, you are my best friend. I love you.”

“Your best friend? Your only friend.”

“True! And Joe.” I get an icky feeling when I say his name and I can’t explain it.

“I’m not sure about Joe. He’s been hitting the bottle hard, and it’s showing!”

“I’ve noticed. He usually checks in with me throughout the day, now…”

“Now he only checks in at the bar.” Jill points out the reality of the situation.

Like Nick mentioned, at some point, we will approach him on his drinking, before it’s too late.

Two Hours later Nick texts me he is downstairs waiting for me.

As soon as I get in his car, he leans in to kiss me. He looks as good as he does at the beginning of the day as at the end. The clean soap smell is still on his skin.

As we drive towards the bridge, Nick tells me about the latest news from Germany. “So after six months of my father and I trying to convince them that this is the right move, they are finally ready to have a serious conversation.”
