Logan sighed. “I know, she’s not like Sierra. Do you know what she told the Chief before she packed up and left him?”
“Nothing good I imagine.”
“She said no woman should marry a man that much older than her unless she wants to be sex-starved and trimming his toenails.” Logan chuckled, but his father could tell what he said bothered him.
“Well, I guess that tells you what you need to work on.” Earl smirked.
“I think I have both of those things covered. I’ve made sure she has no complaints in the sex department.”
Earl held up his hand. “TMI.” They both laughed. “Just keep her happy, son. She deserves it.”
Jenna was happy. She was ecstatic. The community had welcomed her as Logan’s wife in the best possible way. The gifts were nice, but their friendship and acceptance were worth so much more.
“Here’s the last one,” Dixie handed it to her. Jenna sighed as she unwrapped yet another toaster.
“It’s beautiful. I love it.” Nothing could bring her down today, she had everything she ever wanted. “But it’s not the last gift, I have one for Logan.” She stood up, brushed some ribbon off her skirt and patted her pocket. Yep, it was still there. “Hold the fort down here,” she told Dixie who was writing down all of the gifts and their giver’s names in a book for thank you cards.
“Will do. I’m going to finish up here, then dance with that handsome cowboy hovering over the punch bowl.” Dixie pointed at one of Logan’s friends.
“That’s Chris. Be nice to him, he’s super-sweet.” Jenna admonished her playfully.
As she began to move across the floor, she caught her husband’s eye. He gave her ‘the look’. They were fast developing their own secret language. His intense gaze made her nipples hard and her pussy clench with anticipation. Jenna couldn’t wait for all of these people to leave so she could be alone with her husband.
But…since they were receiving gifts, tokens of love from their guests, she had something for him.
“Give me those lips, woman.” He caught her by the arm and pulled her close, crashing their mouths together in a brief heated kiss. “This is pretty nice, huh?”
“It’s very generous. I’ll never forget it.”
Logan turned her to face the crowd, his arm around her waist. “Did you like your gifts?”
“I do, very much.” She reached up to kiss his cheek. “I have a surprise for you. I hope you like it.” Putting her hand in her pocket, she cupped something in her hand and held it up to show him.
A pregnancy test.
Logan’s eyes bugged, his heart hammered and he felt weak. “A baby? You’re pregnant?”
Jenna laughed. “For real this time, I’ve already been to see Dr. Joseph.”
“Oh, baby, baby, baby,” Logan picked her up, swung her around and kissed her soundly. When he realized everyone was watching, he happily announced. “We’re pregnant!”
A round of applause from the people who’d come to celebrate with them made Jenna’s heart sing. “You’re happy?” she asked him. “No regrets?”
“Not a one,” Logan squeezed her tight. “I can't promise perfect, my life’s too hectic for that. But I can promise I'll devote every day of the rest of my life to making you happy.”
“I’ll take chaos with you, over boring old perfect with anyone else, any day of the week.” Jenna kissed him full on the lips. “The chief has arrived on the scene and I wouldn't have it any other way.”
