  “Well if it isn’t my least favorite ATF agents. Hall and Woods.” I said sarcastically as they got out of the car.

  “We brought you something.” Woods barely had the words out and the back door to the car opened.

  “Titan.” Logan and I said in unison.

  “Where’s Lacie?” Titan asked.

  “What the fuck is going on? Why did they let you out and hand deliver you to us?” I stood in between him and the door to the clubhouse as I questioned him. Something didn’t add up. Lots of shit about Titan and the AFT agents hadn’t been adding up lately.

  “Let me see her and then I’ll tell you everything.” Titan pleaded.

  I moved out of the way and let him go to the clubhouse to see Lacie. I did it for her. She had been through enough lately. I would let him see her for a few minutes and then we were going to hold church and get some shit sorted out.

  Titan

  “Lacie.” I yelled as I burst through the clubhouse door.

  She was on the couch watching some stupid reality TV show. Her face was completely healed with no sign of a scar. She was wrapped up in a blanket so I couldn’t see how bad the rest of the cuts were.

  Her dark hair was a mess and she didn’t have any makeup on. For three longs weeks all I could think about was how beautiful she was. Every time I shut my eyes I would picture her face when we were making love.

  She was so perfect and no matter what Force was going to do to me, she would always be mine.

  “Titan, oh my god.” Lacie whispered as she tried to get up off the couch, but I could see the pain in her eyes as she moved her legs.

  I walked over to her, scooped her up in my arms, and carried her to her bedroom. I needed to be alone with her. I needed to kiss her and hold her. I needed to make sure she was okay.

  “What are you doing here? I thought I would never see you again.” She cried.

  I wanted to tell her everything, but all I could do was kiss her. I sat on the bed with her across my lap and I just held her. She wrapped her arms around my neck and moaned into my mouth. I became instantly hard and wanted nothing more than to bury my face in between her legs.

  I was dreaming. That was the only explanation for why Titan just walked back into the clubhouse after three weeks. I had already gotten used to the fact that if I ever saw him again it would be through bars. Yet here he is sitting on my bed kissing me.

  Titan took my leg in his hands and the smile faded as he looked closely at the red scars. I was starting to feel embarrassed about them when he placed soft kisses on them.   Chapter 14

  Titan

  “I love you too Titan, but you are scaring me.” Lacie said.

  I rolled off of her and held her tight in my arms. I knew this would be the last time I would hold her or get to tell her how much I loved her. This would be the last time I would see Lacie, my Lacie.

  “I have to go have a meeting with the rest of the club. I want you to stay here.” I said as I got up and put my clothes back on.

  “You’ll be back. Why are you acting like you aren’t coming back?” Lacie cried.

  “I don’t know what’s going to happen Lace, but I want you to stay here and remember one thing for me Lace.” I kissed her head. “You were worth it.” I kissed her lips and left her forever.

  Force

  I couldn’t hold church at the club house with Lacie in the next room. I wasn’t sure what Titan’s story was, but I knew there was a good chance I was going to have to kill him. So I was on my bike leading the club to some property we had out on 175 south.

  We pulled up to the old barn and parked. The barn looked like
it could fall down at any moment, but that was how I wanted it to look. Inside it was reinforced and had two fire proof cellars that we used to store guns.

  Titan was back in his cut, but unless he was going to pull some miracle out of his ass he wouldn’t be wearing it for long.

  “Titan I have played everything out in my head and the only thing I can come up with is you’re a rat. That’s how you knew where to find the AFT agents the night Lacie went missing and that’s why you are standing here now.” I spoke loud enough for everyone to hear.

  I was the judge and my club was the jury. We could overlook a lot of things for a brother, but being a rat wasn’t one of them. It was automatic death penalty.

  “It’s not what you think Force.” Titan started to defend himself, but I cut him off.

  “I was there Titan when you made the deal with Hall and Woods. The deal was you take the fall. You should be in prison. It wasn’t a great deal and I really wish we could have come up with something else, but it got Lacie back and that’s all that matters.” I admitted.

  “There was more to the deal than that. The club has to go legit.” Titan threatened.

  “Yeah well we are getting there, but we still had some deals in place that have to be taken care of. There is no use in being free if you aren’t alive to enjoy it.” I argued. “You are dancing around the truth here Titan. How did you know where the feds were camped at and why did they let you go?”

  My patience was running out. Titan was a brother to me and everyone else here. We loved him and trusted him, so if I had to kill him I wanted to get it over with. I pulled my pistol out of the back of my waistband and put it in the middle of his head.

  “Who did you rat on Titan?” I said each word slowly and calmly.

  “I didn’t rat on anyone.” He looked me square in the eye. “I’m an undercover ATF agent.”

  I moved the gun from his face and held it at my side. Pure shock covered my face and the face of every man in the club. I knew Titan for years. I trusted him with my life. There was no way what he was saying was true.

  “What? How? You have been in this club for years. My old man patched you in. He did his research on you, there is no way.” I couldn’t even form complete sentences I was so pissed.

  “The ATF wanted Hudson bad, but he was always one step ahead of them. The man really was a genius when it came to outsmarting the feds. They knew the only way to catch him was to get someone in his club.” He stopped for a minute and ran his hand through his beard.

  “I was in prison, serving time for the crimes of my own club out in Florida. Hall and Woods came to me and offered me a deal. Freedom if I infiltrated the Devils Descendant’s MC and brought Hudson down.” Titan spoke and every eye was glued to him.

  “I was serving a life sentence with no chance of parole. I had just been handed a second chance so of course I took it. My whole club was dead and club life was all I knew. At first I did my job and told them everything Hudson was doing. It was easy because Hudson didn’t let us in on the gun deals until the very last minute. So by the time I could tell the feds what was going on it was already over. Yes I got a great pleasure out of watching them get pissed off.” He smiled and continued.

  “One day Hudson let me in on some information weeks ahead of a big deal. It was the perfect opportunity to bring the whole club down. All I had to do was tell Hall and Woods.”

  “So why didn’t you?” I questioned.

  “Like I said, club life was all I knew. If I ratted the Descendants out I would lose another club. I wasn’t exactly made for a nine to five life. I decided to be a real member and protect my club. So I started giving them information on the Hellfires. I convinced them the Hellfires were a bigger take down than the Descendants.”

  “Then Hudson was killed. Everything changed that day. At first I was afraid they would send me back to prison, but then I started thinking about all the information they had on the Hellfires. I knew they were watching their every move.”

  “They knew about the ambush. They could have moved in and stopped them before they killed my dad.” I was thinking out loud.

  “Exactly. They sat back and watched the whole thing. I went to them afterwards and told them I was done. They couldn’t send me back to prison because I could’ve gone over their heads and had their jobs. They released me and I walked away.”

  “Then Lacie showed up and fucked up my whole world. I thought the ATF was laying off our club until they ambushed Lace at the hospital. Then I realized they wanted to take us and the Hellfires out, but I didn’t know why. I had given them the Hellfires on a silver platter. It was enough to make their careers.” He said.

  “Titan why did they release you from the deal?” I asked impatiently. “Do we need to watch our backs?”

  “When they took me into custody Agent Woods admitted they lied about my release from prison. I confronted Hall about it after they kept me locked in a room for two weeks. They had more than enough stuff to pen on me. They could’ve locked me back up and threw away the key. I don’t know the full details, but I know they can’t return me to prison without an investigation in ATF affairs.” Titan laughed.

  “So for the last week I have been helping them plant everything on the Hellfires. Fuck they are all dead so what does it matter right? As long as the Descendants go legit the ATF goes away. I know none of this saves my life, but I thought you should know.” He was right, none of this was going to save his life.

  *

  Lacie

  “Vinny where did they go?” I pleaded with him.

  “Lacie I really can’t tell you. Club business.” Vinny answered.

  “What’s going on? I got here as soon as I could.” Beverly said as she came into the club.

  “Titan came back and I don’t know why, but I think Force is going to kill him. They all left and I don’t know where they went. Vinny won’t tell me because it club business.” I explained.

  “Kill Titan? Why would they kill Titan? And how the hell did he get out of jail?” She quizzed.

  “I don’t know. I have to find them. I can’t let him kill Titan. I love him and he just told me he loves me too. I can’t lose him now.” I cried.

  “Vinny where the fuck did they go. I know you know. If you want to live to get patched in you better tell us.” Beverly threatened.

  “I’m sorry ladies, I really am. Club…”

  “I am so sick and tired of hearing club business. I almost died because of fucking club business. Do you see my legs and arms, Vinny?” I yelled.

  “’Seven miles south on 175. Our storage barn.” Vinny admitted.

  “I know where that is, come on.” Beverly said as she grabbed my arm.

  We jumped in my car and peeled out of the club parking lot. Beverly put her seatbelt on when she noticed I was going over 100 mph. My safety was the last thing on my mind. I had been close to death before and it was nothing compared to losing Titan.

  “Turn on this side road and go a mile.” Beverly said.

  I followed her directions and I could see the barn ahead of us. I prayed we weren’t too late. I pulled up the drive and slid to a stop on the gravel when I saw all the men standing in a circle around Titan.

  “Titan.” I yelled as I jumped out of the car and ran over to him.

  “Lacie, what are you doing here?” Force demanded.

  “What are y’all doing here? I know something is going on. Titan basically told me goodbye forever and then everyone left.” I cried.

  “Lacie go back to the club house, please.” Titan begged.

  “Lacie this doesn’t concern you. Beverly take her back.” Force said as he grabbed my arm and pulled me away from Titan.

  “Bullshit. If it has to do with Titan it concerns me.” I argued

  “Lace there are a few things we don’t tolerate in the club, rats and undercover feds. It seems Titan here is both. There is a price to pay for betrayal and that price is death.” Force said.

  “What?” I whispered.<

  “It’s true.” Titan admitted.

  “Lacie the bottom line is this is club business.” Force snapped.

  “Fuck you and club business. I don’t wear a leather cut like y’all, but I’m pretty sure these cuts on my legs and arms make me part of club business.” I yelled. “I may not be a member of this club, but I am a member of this family just like everyone standing here.”

  “She has a point Prez.” Wolf chimed in. “And in Titans defense he ratted on the Hellfires not us. Plus he got the ATF off our ass.”

  “Prez I think Lacie has been through enough. I don’t think killing Titan is going to help anyone. If he had ratted on us or got us arrested I would hand you a gun and a bullet, but if we are going legit we don’t have anything to worry about by letting him live.” Logan said.

  “Let’s vote on it.” Force said in defeat.

  My heart dropped and I thought I was going to throw up. I knew everyone had to vote in Titans favor or his life was still at risk. One vote that is all it would take to end his life and mine.

  “Everyone in favor of letting Titan live say aye.” Force yelled.

  I held my breath until the very last vote was in. Everyone voted in his favor.

  “Everyone in favor of letting him stay a Devil’s Descendant.” Force surprised me with another vote.

  Ayes all around. I could breathe again.

  I ran to Titan and threw my arms around his neck. He lifted me up and I wrapped my legs around him. I buried my face in his neck as he kissed my head. For the first time in weeks I felt safe. I was never letting him go.

  Titan

  Lacie saved me. Not just from her brother, but from myself. Before I met her I didn’t care about living or dying. I only cared about a club. My old club in Florida and then the Descendants. Family didn’t mean anything to me. The club was my brothers and bitches came and went.

  She was everything to me and I would do everything in my power to keep her safe. Even if it meant me leaving the club and us leaving Texas. Lacie was all that mattered, she was my future. She put me above everyone, even her own brother.
