The Last Fight of Human Race

  ''Oh...yeah that seems right''she said.

  ''Shhh''Leslie placed her finger on her lips.

  The door knob turned from the other side.The door opened ,bullet went straight through its brain and the monstua was on the floor dead.

  ''So much for immortality'' Leslie scoffed.

  ''Umm they are immortal ,dude!''Jenny exclaimed

  ''Yes but it takes like 42 hours for them to respawn .I-Its like they are in a coma okay?''Leslie chimed

  ''Okay,lets go.Our job here is done''Leslie declared and started walking out.

  ''Contact Reed and inform her.''Leslie asked

  ''Already did'' Drake replied.

  At reed's lab-

  ''Come on everyone,lets move.We got a call'' doctor Reed announced to her team.

  Reed reached the lab.Reed took a sample of the monstua's blood.

  ''How many times have a told that young lady that one of them should stay here with us'' Reed complained.

  Dr.Weather just shrugged at this.

  ''Um,we need to get outta here ,what with all the commotion that the news has caused ,they wont be taking to long to-''

  Dr.Reed interrupted Mr weathers.

  ''Wait''she yelled.

  ''I think we hit a jackpot !'' she said.

  ''Lets take him''Reed ordered with an evil smirk.

  Soon the dead monstua was in the lab .He was given another strong dose of anesthesia.Everyone in Reeds team was working,people were real busy.Dr Reed pulled out a vile which was pink in colour,she smirked before she injected the monstua with eat .She sighed in the end.Everyone was smiling at thus sight,some for praying,some were scared that the monstua might wakeup.

  After looking at the monstua for a few seconds with smile plastered to her face,she looked at Dr.Weather and nodded.He nodded in return and made a call.

  ''Its time''' he said.

  On the other Leslie brightened up at the news.

  ''Guys,we need to move.''she said.

  Everyone was waiting for the monstua to wakeup.Zero group were aggressively pointing their weapons at him,they ahd been waiting for this moment.The monstuas grunted,as he slowly opened his heavy lidded eyes.He was still lying on his back strapped to the table.Leader Leslie,Tony backster,Matt Romano,and four more such fiery,aggresive,good at kicking ass are the zero group which was here to shine tonight.

  The monstua tried to move,everyone was tense.Drop sweat rolled down Leslie's forehead.

  ''Where am I?'' he said faintly.

  Reed was more than happy to hear him ,not becausing he spoke,but cause his voice was human now.Whenever the monstuas speak their voice is a bit different,his wasn't .Leslie was still scpetical about this ,she was ready to shoot despite Dr.Reeds reactions.She was about to move the trigger when the monstua said something unexpected.

  ''Please,help me.'' he whimpered.

  Leslie slowly brought the gun down.Everyone was shook.Everyone was looking at each other in shock.

  ''How?''Leslie blurted.

  ''You sound almost disappointed''Darren taunted her

  ''Shut up Darren''Leslie rolled eyes at him .

  She brought the gun back to pointing at the monstua.As Reed's team was going near the monstua ,setting him free from the straps and above all welcoming him back,because he was back to being human or atleast close to being one.

  Monstuas expression suddenly escalated from scared to frightened to death.

  ''Leslie what the hell are you doing?''Dr Reed yelled at her.

  ''Put the gun down!'' Dr Reed thundered.

  ''I don't take orders from you miss''Leslie smirked.

  ''Leslie stop''Darren shouted.

  ''Oh calm down... im just making sure he doesn't harm you Dr Reed.''Leslie taunted.

  Dr Reed simply shook her head in disbelief.

  ''Please...don't kill me'' the monstua whimpered again.

  ''Miss Leslie can I speak with you for a moment''Dr Weathers said.

  ''Sure but don't blame me if anything goes wrong when I am not here''she said.

  Darren rolled eyes at her.

  ''Im kidding nothing wrong would happen not on my teams watch''she said as she walked past Darren.

  ''I know your concern,and our job.But this is first success in our research,and a pretty big one.Please don't point your gun at the poor man he is scared'' he said

  ''Man?''she scoffed

  ''Leslie''Dr Weathers gave her a look.

  ''Fine''she sighed

  ''But only for you.Because you are like an uncle.''she said

  Dr Weathers smiled

  ''Lets go'' he gestured her.

  Leslie walked in the area.There was sand everywhere.It was a deserted area.Zero group insisted on bringing him outside ,just in case anything goes wrong its better to be not inside a lab.

  ''Oh my god,everyone’s still alive'' Leslie chuckled

  ''Yeah,the monstua didn't harm them in anyway''Dr Waethers said

  Everyone was joyous to see that their hard work paid off.Everyone was happy,except for one.

  ''Maybe its all an act, remember they dodnt call themselves better version of humans for nothing''she said

  ''Okay yeh you are right .We should be cautious '' he said

  ''Oh my god this is freaking amazing'' Dr Reed chirped

  The monstua was amazed that people were so happy to see him.He had no memory of anything.According to Dr Reed this was breakthrough.A miracle ,her prayers answered is what she felt.

  ''So how was the progress?''she asked

  ''It worked .Our hardwork has finally paid off Mr Weathers'' Dr Reed croaked.

  Dr. Reed almost pounced on him to hug him,everyone from her team slowly joined in the hug.They were crying ,hugging,jumping even,celebrating their victory.

  Tony was happy to see this sight ,'who wouldn’t be' ? she thought

  after all it was victory for all of us.

  Darren smiled too.A familiar hand was placed on Darren's shoulder.He turned around ,still smiling,he recognized who it was.

  ''Leslie isn't it gr-''Darren was interrupted

  ''We need to go'' Leslie ordered

  ''What? Why?'' he asked ,confused.

  ''Our job is here is done'' she said

  ''But...'' he tried to think of an excuse to stay .

  ''We are heading to the base right now!'' she commanded.

  ''Y-yes captain'' He reluctantly said whilst looking down at the ground,pressing his lips to form a line.

  He was disappointed but orders are orders.He entered the car with Leslie.

  ''Where are others?''she asked in frustration

  ''Oh sorry I forgot '' He apologised and got out of the vehicle immediately .

  He walked a few steps and gathered the rest of the zero group.

  ''Come on lets go '' he said

  Everyone was obedient,quite the opposite what Leslie was expecting.Darren had already ordered them to act like professionals and report back to the home as decided.On the way back there as total silence.

  The Zero group finally reached their hideout.Christy was confused the moment she saw them.Everyone was smiling ear to ear but Leslie,she was rather serious.In fact she seemed more serious than she is one her missions.Christy's brows furrowed in confusion and her head tilted in curiosity.

  ''Chris ! its good news ! The latest experiment worked .We are saved !'' shouted in happiness,telling the good news.

  Christy could simply jump and shout whilst she hugged the team as she celebrated.

  ''No this isn't time to enjoy !'' Leslie tried to yell but their happiness overpowered her voice.

  She sighed ,shaked her head and walked towards the dorm.She didn’t even bother to turn on the lights.She crawled in her bed.She wasn’t able to see in the dark or anything ,she just bumped into the bed as soon as he entered ,her bed was placed at the very beginning of the room.Everyone felt safe that way.

  It had been two weeks since the good news.Dr reed's team showed up,whenever Leslie called.Just like always Zero group did the work
of finding the place with the monstuas and also fought the monstuas but as soon as Dr Reed's team arrived they were shooed away.These facts were running through her mind,her meaning Leslies mind.So far including the first monstua Zero group had now turned total of fifteen monstuas against the SA.This was not so good for the humans and neither for the monstuas.Not good for the humans because fifteen was too little when we think about the population of the whole world.Not good for the monstuas because number fifteen was enough to enrage them,to have the will to destroy humanity.

  Monstuas were already treating the humans as slaves ,they even totortured those who call them monstuas or do not respect their authority.Sure some people stayed safe but not all were that happy to under the rule of the monstuas.

  Constantly zero group was on the move ,looking for that perfect opportunity .

  Dr Reeds' team cured each an every monstua that Leslie's group fought.They killed them but the monstuas only go into a coma.The fourty-two hours were enough for the antidote to do it's work.She was not giving up,working hard day and night.However,someone disagreed,someone who thought that their work was much important that Dr Reeds.

  This was not the first time Leslie was behaving this way,this was the first time Leslie was ...insecure.

  She was feeling under appreciated.Was it the case? Or was she being too silly to worry about such things in the first place? Or maybe she was right?

  Day and night both the teams worked their asses off, giving up on their precious sleep,some also ignoring their hunger.All they did was try to find monstuas ,kill them,and inject them.Yet again,Dr Reed was going to inject another one the monstuas ,Leslie was once again,not paying attention to the job,leaving her team to do the work.

  ''I am going for a walk'' Leslie said.

  ''OK boss'' Darren said

  ''Why is she being this was ? I mean she was such a badass and always gave us orders to stay professional.''Tony whispered to Darren

  Darren rolled his eyes at her.

  ''Are you saying Leslie is being unprofessional?''Darren raised an eyebrow at her

  ''No,idiot no that's not what I meant.I am worried ,she is our rock.If she stops being a badass then what will happen of us?''

  She explained .

  ''Yeah,I am worried too . But hey whatever it is that's bothering her I am sure she still wants us to work our asses off'' he chuckled

  Tony nodded.

  She turned to look at Dr Reed.Suddenly there were raining bullets ,the glass was shattered.Fortunately another squaddie that was besides her saved Dr Reed but unfortuantely it was not the same for Dr.Weathers.He got shot with a Laser gun which was used my the SA troops.Dr Reed was huffing nd puffing under the table along with a squaddie.Frightened ;she didn't get up from under the table .She was terrified and so was everyone on the squad.Dr Weathers was being treated by Zero group who knew nothing about treatment of wounds.Footsteps were seen by Dr Reed,she looked up,her expression softened a bit .

  ''Les-Leslie .... I am sc-scared'' Dr Reed sobbed.

  Leslie squated down to get at her eye level.

  ''I know...its going to be alright okay?''Leslie assured her

  Dr Reed shook her head slightly.

  ''Reed,everything is going to be fine but it could get worse if you don't get yourself together okay?''Leslie said sternly.

  ''H-How?'' she reluctantly asked.

  ''Oh come on ,get the hell outta there Reed !'' Leslie yelled.

  ''Your friend is in need of your attention could you please get the fuck out of there'' Leslie growled.

  Dr Reed was confused at her words and looked around.

  She gasped in shock,immediately covering her mouth in the process.

  Few hours later-

  Dr Weathers breathing is slowly getting steady but everyone is still unsure if he will survive.Another one of Reeds lab was destroyed ,her team was not hurt thanks to the soldiers of Zero group.Dr Reed decided to check her lab's tools and everything that was vital to the cure.She checked the vials first they were safe.

  ''Vials check.''She said as she searched for all the ingredients with which she made the cure.

  She was happy and shocked that they didn’t take anything.

  ''I guess this was just a warning'' she said to herself.

  She opened her laptop and it started but suddenly it went all black.Before she could react to it there was a blackout.

  ''Omg...I cant see anything''she croaked

  ''Not even the lights outside can be seen'' she whimpered

  ''What do you mean?'' Leslie asked

  ''There is a bus station across ,its heavily lit,why isn't it visible to us?''she said

  ''So its not just your lab...''Leslie trailed off .

  ''Its a blackout''Dr Reed stated.

  ''How will continue our work?''Dr Reed asked

  ''You don't need to you already did .One you will shift in our den,and that's where will carry out the rest of the operation''Leslie put forth confidently.

  ''You just have the to inject them don't you? One or two of you is enough for that,we have electricity there ,hopefully''Leslie said.

  ''And what if you don't?''Dr Reed asked

  ''Then we just have to do it during the day,light.Natural light''Leslie said

  ''And I can assure you there's plenty of that where we live'' Darren chuckled.

  Leslie smiled at Darren and placed her hand on Reed's shoulder.

  ''Don't worry .One way or the other the monstuas going to have to have to surrender to us.''Leslie reassured her.

  Darren and Tony looked a little worried at her words.

  Back at the den-

  ''Um Leslie can we talk?'' Darren whispred to her.

  ''Sure'' she said as she was dusting the bedsheet of her bed.

  '' Your fight with the SA,its still for the same reason right?'' Darren asked reluctantly.

  ''What do you mean?'' she coughed as she continued beating the bedsheet with a thin rod.

  ''You aren't thinking of ...''Darren stopped midway his snetenced ,scared of Leslie.

  ''Thinking of what ?''she coughed again

  ''You aren't thinking of killing them are you?'' he finally said

  Her hand stop beating the bedsheet,she threw the rod on the bed.She closed her lips to form a line.At this point Darren was already regretting his decision.

  ''It is not possible even if I wanted to.'' she sighed as she started to fold the quilt.

  ''Yeah,that's actually true''Darren fake chuckled to hide his embarrassment and left.

  She paused as she started to think and then threw the quilt on the bed.

  Christy wokeup from her slumber as she heard some noise.

  ''Who is it?''she asked reluctantly.

  ''It is me '' a voice said.

  ''Oh,Brendon.''she smiled.

  He gave her half smile and entered the dorm room where everyone was sleeping soundly.He flopped down on his bed ,feet up,and he started staring at ceiling.This is how his goodnight sleep was every night.Perhaps,that's the reason his bed is at far end of the dorm.

  Christy rolled up into a ball while drifting into sleep.

  Come on there is another one of those monstua houses ,we could go and bring the mosntuas in''Leslie commanded.

  ''Christy you are going to stay at the den and if anything happens ,contact us in anyway possible okay?''she said

  Christy nodded as she flattened her lips.

  ''Maybe YOU should stay at Den today'' Stiles said to Leslie.

  ''Um,I can't I am the squad leader remember?'' Leslie retorted

  ''Okay I guess you are right'' he said

  ''You guess? If I agreed to stay who was gonna go instead,you?'' she chuckled.

  ''You did what your job was,pissing of the SA.''she taunted

  He raise an euebrow at her comment.

  ''I meant Christy,she could go '' he said making Christy blush in the process.

  ''She is too weak ,no offence .She is great help and a great friend.But she is not a good trooper oka
y?''she put forth.

  ''This is for her safety okay?'' Leslie said condescendingly .

  ''Fine.''Stiles scoffed and went inside the dorm.

  Leslie gestured others to move out and they did so.She turned once to take a glance at Christy and then left.

  '' hey,thanks for whatever you did out there for me''Christy said nervously.

  ''I just did it piss her off'' he replied bluntly.

  Christy was regretting her decision of talking to him .

  She was about to turn to leave when his voice stopped her once again.

  '' hey,do you want to maybe go on the fields?'' he asked almost softly.

  ''Uhh.No Leslie would be spitting fire at me'' she spoke hesitantly.

  She was looking at the floor all the time she was speaking to him.

  He lifted her chin.She was surprised to see him suddenly that close to her.

  ''SOrry for being so cold back there.'' he admitted shyly.

  Christy's cheeks flushed a peachy pink.

  ''I know even the zero group was your idea ,Leslie treats you like shit.'' he said

  ''But,isn't it right? That someone must always watch the Den?'' Christy asked innocently.

  ''No,it is not!'' he exclaimed.

  ''I mean,watching over the den is a good thing.But does it really need that?'' he asked

  ''OKay,even if she is right.I am sure you get bored watching those stupid shows starring the monstuas'' he chuckled.

  Christy laughed then stopped.

  ''Actually its,quite good '' she said

  Stiles chuckled at this ,after seconds of more laughing whilst looking in each other's eyes,Stiles stopped the glancing session.

  ''Look,I am going to see how they are doing the actual field work,you may join me if you want.'' he said

  Christy nodded.

  On the fields-

  Leslie shot a monstua in his chest.There was nobody around except for Leslie.

  His eyes widened.

  ''If we found the cure then why is she killing those monstuas?'' Stiles murmured.

  ''This is not good.'' he said ,shaking his head violently.

  ''Do you understand what this means?'' he said.
