“I love you,” he whispered, waiting for the world to stop. The only sound that could be heard in the room was his and Tyler’s breathing.

Tyler raised one of his hands and cupped Ethan’s cheek. “I have been waiting months to tell you that I am in love with you.” Tyler whispered before he leaned in and kissed Ethan gently on his lips. Then Tyler pulled back and stared at him. “Want to get married next week?”

Ethan’s eyes widened in shock at the proposal. “Are you kidding me?”

“No, I’m quite serious,” Tyler answered.

“You are aware your cock in still inside of me and your cum is dripping down my legs?”

“Is that a yes or no?” He asked persistently.

After thinking about for a few seconds, “Do you think your mom can pull it together in a week?” Ethan asked skeptically.

“Now who's the one that’s kidding? If I know her, she already had a venue rented weeks ago.”

Ethan bit and pulled on his bottom lip. When Sean asked him to marry, he thought about it for two weeks before saying yes, but that time he knew immediately what his answer would be. “We will need to hold off on having a proper honeymoon. I just got back to work and I still need to catch up on a few things…” Ethan did not get a chance to finish what he wanted to say before Tyler kissed him soundly.

Tyler stopped kissing him and pulled back. “You realize you’re stuck with me now? No regrets, right?”

Ethan knew exactly what Tyler was asking. “No turning back, no regrets,” Ethan answered, shaking his head.

They made love one more time in Ethan’s office before going home. Where they spent the rest of the night in each other’s arms. They called Marilyn the next morning to give her the wonderful news. By late afternoon the entire family knew they were getting married.

  CHAPTER TWELVE

“I can’t fucking believe it,” Lucas said, looking at his twin. “One week, one fucking week. Are you sure about this? Just yesterday you told mom you weren’t ready.”

Tyler sighed and rolled his eyes. “Yes, for the hundredth time.”

  “But…”

“Enough, Lucas. Shit, man,” Tyler yelled. “I asked Ethan to marry me, he said yes, move on. You sound as if you’re not happy for me.” There was a bit of hurt in his voice at the thought that his brother would not support him or his happiness.

“Of course I’m happy for you,” Lucas said.

“Well, you have a strange way of showing it,” Tyler snapped.

“Ethan’s not pregnant again, is he? Because if you asked him to marry you so that he doesn’t run off again, I’d need to question your morals, little brother.” Then he stopped and looked at Tyler. “You’re not pregnant, are you?”

Tyler opened his mouth to say no but stopped himself. He wasn’t sure. Since they solidified their relationship and losing their baby, they had not used protection or even talked about it. And Tyler wasn’t sure if Ethan had been taking his male hormone shots. Tyler had not thought about the possibilities that he could be the one to get pregnant this time around. He would not have been able to carry the baby to full term. But still, I would have noticed the symptoms, right?”

He shook his head dispelling the thought, “I don’t think he’s pregnant.” Tyler answered truthfully. “Neither am I for that matter. But what does that have to do with anything? So what if he’s pregnant or not, I love him and want to be with him regardless.”

“I just wish you gave me more notice.”

“I’m sorry if my upcoming wedding plans ruined your weekend fun,” Tyler said sarcastically.

Lucas shook his head. “Stop getting upset.” He got up and walked out of Tyler’s office, mumbling something about a boy’s night out.

Tyler chuckled and went back to work. He couldn’t help it, his cheeks hurt from how happy he’d been over the past couple of days and especially since Ethan agreed to marry him. It was not his plan to propose marriage when he went to see Ethan that night, but the moment had felt right.

Things were certainly looking up for them and he knew it would only get better from then on. He and Ethan had called his mom before heading to work and told her the good news. She formally welcomed Ethan to the family and as he suspected, his mom was happy to take over planning their wedding.

Tyler hoped she would listen and keep it as small as possible. He snorted and shook his head. Who was he kidding, his mom lived for things like that. His version of small, consisted of close family and a few selected friends, while his mom’s idea of small was nowhere close to what he was thinking. It was no use fighting her on the issue, she was hell on wheels when she stuck her claws into something.

Ethan sat in the booth of the coffee shop not far from his job, fiddling with the napkin for the hundredth time before looking at his watch. He wasn’t sure if his idea was the right thing to do or not, but he knew that he couldn’t put it off any longer. Ethan looked at the door and saw Richard entering the restaurant. If he was going to make his escape, it was already too late. After thinking about it, Ethan decided it was time to get to know his brother, he had to give it a chance before closing the door on it permanently.

Since he had a chance to examine the other man, Ethan realized just how much Richard resembled James, their father. The other times that he had seen Richard, Ethan had not been paying attention and he missed the similarities he shared with James. James and Richard were the same height, build, with a rich milk chocolate complexion, and both were bald. Ethan lifted his hand and touched his curled locks and hoped that baldness was not hereditary.

Richard made his way over to the booth and sat on the opposite side of Ethan. They stared at each other for a few minutes, and Ethan could tell Richard did not know what to say. Truth be told, he did not know where to begin himself. So Ethan said the first thing that popped into his head.

  “You look like him.”

Richard smiled. “Thanks, I take it he was devastatingly handsome.”

“You got his modesty as well.” Ethan chuckled, feeling a bit better.

  “How are you?” Richard asked.

“I’m good,” Ethan responded. He reached down beside him and took out the letters, handing them back to Richard. “I read them; I’m not sure what to say. I mean I thought my dad,” he started then stopped. “Our dad and I were close and reading the letters, it felt as if I lived with a stranger for most of my life.”

Richard took the letters and placed them on the other side of the table. “I blamed my mom for a while after I found out that Robert Kaisson was not my real dad. It had never occurred to me that it could be someone else. I was still a baby when my mom got married. Shit, I was named after the man.” Richard must have seen the confused expression on Ethan’s face, because he chuckled then answered. “Robert is my middle name.”

Ethan nodded his head, “How did you find out?” he asked.

Richard shook his head and leaned back in his seat. He fiddled with that napkin on the table, and cleared his throat. Ethan recognized the nervous gestures, he had a few himself. “When Mom died, I was going through her things and found the letters. I thought they were from my dad, but as I read them, I realized who they were from. I hired a private investigator to find him.”

“What about your dad? Did he know about James, I mean Dad? Shit, this is so fucking confusing.” Ethan asked, leaning back in the booth.

Richard shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know, Robert, the man I thought was my dad, died about five years ago. Maybe Mom told him when they realized their relationship was getting serious and he remained silent, but he treated me like his flesh and blood. I never once questioned if he was my father or not.”

Listening to Richard talk about the man he called dad, Ethan could tell that he loved him dearly. “I’m sorry,” he whispered. “I guess we are both cursed to remain parentless,” he said, trying to ease the tension, but winced internally when it came out sounding a lo
t weirder than he intended.

“You still have your mom.” Richard shrugged his shoulders before looking out the window.

“If you want to call her that,” Ethan said with a snort. “My mom and I are not what you would call friends, much less to have a mother and son relationship.”

“Tell me about him. What kind of dad was he?” Richard asked, looking back to Ethan.

Ethan smiled, and looked into familiar hazel eyes that reminded him so much of James. “You can call him dad or James; it’s up to you.”

Richard nodded his head. “One day, maybe.”

“Fair enough.” Ethan accepted that it would not be easy for either of them; it would take some time for them to become comfortable around each other.

Ethan started talking about his father, a subject that came easily to him. He told Richard about the father, he knew growing up, the dad who laughed at his silly jokes and encouraged him to do what made him happy. They laughed when he spoke of how his dad handled his ‘rebellious’ teenage years. And how proud his father was of him when he went to medical school. Richard listened and asked questions and Ethan was all too happy to answer them.

Their conversation veered off from talking about James to talking about themselves, sharing their ups and downs growing up, their hobbies, and careers. Ethan learned that Richard had just moved to New York, and it was a coincidence, they bumped into each other on the plane. It was a shock to Richard when he saw Ethan looking at the picture of James, and he recognized from pictures with his mother. Richard admitted that he was terrified of Ethan calling the cops the night he followed him home and gave him the letters that he intended to mail to him with an explanation.

Before leaving the diner, Ethan invited Richard to his impromptu wedding, which his brother graciously accepted. By the time he got home that night, Ethan knew they were on their way to becoming friends and hopefully, eventually, brothers.

He couldn’t believe it, she actually pulled it off. It took Marilyn a little over three weeks, rather than one week, but there he was standing in front of the mirror, making sure that his suit fit perfectly. Ethan took a very large breath and waited for the anxiety to set in. With how quickly everything happened in the past couple of weeks, Ethan expected that he should be feeling as if he was making the biggest mistake of his life. Oddly, he was calm and ready to stand beside Tyler and recite the vows they wrote for each other, in front of God and their family.

To ensure that their ceremony and reception remained small, Ethan and Tyler stressed that they wanted their wedding held in the garden of the Hamilton family home. They went a bit informal with white suits and dark blue shirts and no ties. His hair was pulled back from his face and his eyes sparkled with love and happiness.

A knock at the door brought Ethan out of his thoughts, the door opened and Christen stepped in with beautiful Madeline, dressed prettily in pink, in his arms. Ethan walked over to Christen and took the little princess, as everyone liked to call her, from him.

“Be careful, she’s in a grab and pull mood lately,” Christen advised.

“Hey there, little miss,” Ethan ignored his best friend and kissed Madeline on the top of her head. He walked over to the sofa, sitting down with Madeline on his lap. Over the past couple of weeks, Ethan had become slightly more comfortable being around the triplets.

Cayden, Madeline, and especially Alexander had pushed their cuteness by force into his heart and refused to leave. He realized that in that very moment he had done a lot of growing and healing. Ethan still thought about the ‘what if’s’. It was only a few months before, Ethan was unable to look at a picture of a baby. He smiled and kissed Madeline on the crown of her head.

I can’t picture my life without the triplets. Ethan looked down at the baby in his arms and she giggled as if she knew exactly what he was thinking and feeling. She leaned in and gave him a kiss on his cheek before sitting back down in his lap and fiddling with her dress. The kiss was sloppy, but Ethan didn’t mind.

“You know, Ethan, I have always thought of you as my brother in all but blood.” Ethan looked away from Madeline to Christen. “Today is just making it official.”

He stretched his hand out for Christen, who took it and he pulled his best friend closer to him. “Thank you for everything and for forgiving me for keeping you in the dark about what was going on with me. You’ve been nothing but supportive. I’m sorry I missed your wedding and the birth of your babies…”

“Okay, enough,” Christen said, stopping him. “One, you told me how sorry you were, and two, I don’t want this to turn into chick flick moment.”

Christen bent down and took Madeline from Ethan’s arms. “Just continue to make my brother happy.”

Ethan nodded his head. “It’s a promise I intend to keep.”

“Good, are you ready?” Christen asked.

Ethan stood to his feet, nodding his head. They walked out of Christen’s old room and made their way down the stairs. Tyler was at the bottom of the stairs, waiting for him. He smiled and felt a flutter run through him at seeing the man he loved looking handsome and waiting for him. Tyler extended his hand and Ethan happily took it, ready to start a new chapter of their lives together.

  ** ** ** ** **

Things were going great for Ethan; he and Tyler got married and flew to Las Vegas to spend the weekend for a short honeymoon. Ethan had started having weekly lunches with Richard, who it turned out was looking for a place and bought Ethan’s home.

As promised, he and Tyler would drive to Providence whenever time allowed to have Sunday dinner with his family, which also included Rebecca, and Jaxson’s dad, Mark Colvin. Tyler snickered each time the family met up and one of Marilyn’s girlfriends ‘happened to stop by’ and was seated beside Mark, who was polite but showed no interest.

With everything going wonderfully, Ethan wondered why he was waiting for the other shoe to drop. As much as he tried not to think about it, Ethan still felt as if someone was following and watching his every move. He would have mentioned it to Tyler, but Ethan didn’t want his husband to think he was losing his mind.

Ethan walked into his home, kicking the door shut and setting his keys and backpack on the counter before making his way over to the fridge. Ethan pulled out the leftover pizza from the night before, placing the box on the counter and pulling out a slice. Ethan was about to take a large bite when strong arms sandwiched him between the counter and the body behind him. Warm lips pressed against his neck. Ethan closed his eyes and cocked his head to the side, inviting the lips to do more.

“It seems someone missed me today?” he whispered as Tyler’s hands went to his waist and pulled his hips back.

“More than you know.” Tyler pushed up and ground his hard cock against Ethan’s ass. Ethan turned around in Tyler’s arms, facing his man. Going to the tips of his toes a bit, he gave Tyler a kiss that would most definitely melt ice. Ethan was always an affectionate person, and being with Tyler had pushed his romantic nature to the surface.

“Hi,” Ethan said with a smile on his face after they stopped kissing. Tyler’s fingers caressed and stroked Ethan’s back, then stopped just above his ass.

“Are you hungry?” Tyler asked, placing gentle kisses on his cheeks, then his chin before moving to his neck.

“Not for food.” Ethan answered; the smokiness in his voice was all Tyler needed before he began undressing Ethan, removing his shirt along with his suit jacket. “Someone’s quite eager tonight,” he panted. For his answer, Tyler grunted and bit down on Ethan’s shoulder blade, making him hiss. “Oh, God,” he moaned.

Tyler backed up against the kitchen counter, grabbing and fondling his ass. Ethan was hard as a rock and knew he would not make it long if Tyler were to enter him right then. He rested his hands on Tyler’s hips before pulling his sweats down, releasing his cock. Ethan circled his fingers around Tyler’s cock and began to stroke it fervently, licking and biting on his chin and neck.

&
nbsp; Tyler groaned long and hard when Ethan squeezed the tip of his leaking cock, his hips jerked and he began fucking Ethan’s hand. Ethan opened his eyes and watched the erotic expressions on his lover’s face. Tyler’s eyes were closed and he was biting down on his bottom lip. Getting excited, Ethan jerked Tyler’s cock faster, pulling sweet moans and groans from his man.

Tyler threw his head back and screamed out Ethan’s name as warm cum spurted from his cock, soaking his hand. Tyler rested his sweaty forehead on Ethan’s shoulder, trying to catch his breath. Before Ethan could say anything, Tyler went to his knees and eagerly finished undoing his dress slacks that were forgotten about earlier. Taking Ethan’s cock out of his pants, Tyler expertly sucked it into his mouth.

Ethan threw his head back and moaned. His fingers instantly sought out Tyler’s hair, grabbing it for leverage. He widened his legs and began to fuck Tyler’s mouth, making his cock go as far as it possibly could without harming his lover. Tyler licked and sucked the length of his shaft and fondled his balls, causing him to lose his mind.

Ethan opened his eyes, but could not see anything in front of him. He was beginning to feel light headed and knew that he was not going to last long. With the last thought, he came down Tyler’s throat, chanting his lover’s name. The last thing he remembered before his knees buckled and Tyler’s strong arms caught him, was the strangest feeling of someone watching them.

  ** ** ** ** **

Ethan snuggled deeper into the covers, pulling Tyler’s pillow with him. Opening one eye, he quickly peeked at the time on the clock and sighed when he realized he had an extra hour to stay in bed. Closing his eye, Ethan tried to go back to sleep while he waited for the alarm to go off. He did not stir when the bed dipped a few minutes later, the scent of coffee wafted under his nose. Skillfully, without opening his eyes, Ethan reached out and took the hot cup from Tyler’s hand, who simply chuckled.
