“Research. It just means searching for answers by doing work, or scientific work, rather,” she elaborated. I arched an eyebrow before walking around to face her, putting my palm on the table, and leaning close until my face was only a few inches away from hers. “Amelia, you are a skilled human. I did not think something as pretty as you would do such things,” I whispered.

“And I never thought that sexism extended to the far reaches of space, either, yet here we are,” she said sarcastically, rolling her eyes before clearing her throat. “Well, what do you know anyway? How many humans could you possibly know?” she asked, and I chuckled at her apparent ignorance.

“I know many humans, Amelia. We have been taking human females from Earth for over thirty years now,” I informed her.

“What?! How is that possible?” she asked, her eyes wide with shock before shaking her head in disbelief. “No! You are lying. We would know if you had--,”

“You will see for yourself when we land on Telan. We have been mating with human females for quite some time, and it’s going well,” I said, standing upright and crossing my arms across my chest.

“M-mating?” she stammered, her face losing color. “You mean to tell me t-that…”

“Yes, it is exactly what you think. But I am not here to give you a history lesson about the Ambrions. I want to know what your ship was doing so far out in space. What was the purpose of your mission?” I asked, getting to the point of my interrogation.

“Why should I answer any of your questions?” she countered stubbornly, glaring at me with a scowl. “What are you going to give me?” I leaned down to the side of her face.

“What do you want then?” I whispered in her ear.

She shivered a little before straightening up.

“For starters, I want some answers to my questions.” She said.

I was enjoying playing this little game with her. Besides, I was working and following Director Reion’s orders as I should, but there was no reason I couldn’t enjoy teasing her a little bit, even if it comes from my work as Commander.

“Is that what you want? Answers? I was hoping you would be requesting something a little more exciting from me,” I replied, moving closer to her.

She swallowed hard, and I saw her bottom lip quiver just a bit, before answering.

“No, just answers. I have a lot of questions.”

  I sighed.

“Fine. I guess I can deal with that, as dull as that is. But you must answer my questions first,” I bargained, smiling at her.

“Alright. It’s a deal,” she replied, nodding in agreement.

“So what was the purpose of your mission?” I asked.

“We were on a peaceful science mission,” she stressed. “It was not a warship, and we’re not a crew that deserved the violence you gave us. We were merely looking for answers, and doing experiments in space. That is all,” she said, her eyes flashing again with anger.

“Science mission? This is the ‘research’ you spoke of,” I said.

“Yes, precisely. We were only collecting space dust and small space rocks to study them for microbial life forms,” she said. She continued on and on about the work they were doing, giving such elaborate details that I had no choice but to believe her. We did not find a mass number of weapons onboard the Earth ship, so we knew it was not made for battle.

There was something about her I found fascinating besides her attractive body and defiant spirit. It was that I enjoyed hearing her talk endlessly. She was so exceptional, and I couldn’t wait to sample her, and see just how unique she was.
