Triple Threat_An MFMM Reverse Harem Romance

Dr. Kildare was a face I knew from the many files dedicated to his craft.
I gave him no indication that I recognized him, and it was for the best.
“I’ve known people like you all of my life and it’s not going to make me endanger this man’s health. There is too much senseless death and I don’t want to be the cause of another one.” He could say that now, but his talents had been used in out of the way third world countries where the law was thinly veiled.
“I appreciate how you want to adhere to the Hippocratic Oath, but sometimes extreme measures are needed. My client has a price on her head and I want to know the source. His discomfort is necessary to find the person that wants my client dead. This person will do and pay anything to get what he wants.” It was Monday morning and I was already late for my first day, but I was never going to be a 9 to 5 desk jockey.
I was a little tense and not looking forward to talking about my feelings with Rachel. The kiss happened. Why couldn’t we forget about it? I had a feeling she wasn’t going to let it go that easily.
I had already condemned myself to never being alive long enough to enjoy retirement. I was out of the military, but the military wasn’t too far away from my mindset. The business I was in with my brothers helped me to contain some of my otherwise unusual tendencies to commit harm to others.
“I can take care of things from here. There’s no reason to leave me a babysitter.” He was a little squirrelly and I felt it was necessary to leave Evan and Nicholas to oversee this operation.
They would know when it was time to step in, but I had left strict instructions for them to give the doctor the benefit of the doubt. They were somewhat like me with the understanding the old ways still had their place. Drugging him seemed too easy when getting my hands dirty was preferable over distorting his brain with narcotics.
“Evan and Nicholas are here for your protection in case something goes wrong. You’re here at Devon’s request and these two are here to keep me in the loop. I have appointed myself judge, jury, and possible executioner. Anything he says has to be verified with close scrutiny.” I didn’t give him a chance to say anything, cutting him off at the knees and leaving him staring at me with daggers from behind.
“Don’t give it another thought. Nicholas and I know the score better than anybody. Calling us was one of the saner things you have ever done in your life. That’s saying something. We can’t promise to make him talk, but we can promise to use everything at our disposal. If we had months, there’s no doubt that he would be singing like a canary. Everybody has a breaking point.” Evan's tone and cocky grin confirmed this wasn’t his first rodeo.
Nobody had found my breaking point, but it did keep me up nights thinking about falling victim to somebody that would know how to take me for a ride that I was never going to forget.
“I will expect hourly text message reports on the good doctor’s progress. I’m going to depend on your judgment for when to step in with more unusual tactics. I would rather not resort to those measures, but there comes a time that you have to cut your losses.” I moved my fingers across my throat in a menacing fashion.
This man was either going to leave drooling like an idiot, or carried out in a body bag to be buried someplace where he would never be found again.
I was perfectly content with both scenarios.
I drove my black-as-night Jeep Wrangler Sport with the kind of maneuverability that made these streets easily navigated. I knew all the shortcuts and how to determine if I was being tailed. Nobody could hold a candle to my evasive techniques. Rachel was easily the worst possible mistake that I could even contemplate.
Getting physically involved and letting her see the real man underneath my caustic attitude would make her go running in the opposite direction. The last thing I wanted to be was some kind of disappointment and I certainly didn’t want to scare her into thinking that I was a threat to her wellbeing.
My cell phone was buzzing on the vacant chair on the passenger side. It moved across the fine leather to the edge, but I was able to grab it before it went tumbling to the floor.
I didn’t recognize the caller ID, but I decided to answer it anyway out of pure curiosity. The liquid velvet coming from the other side caused something to stir inside of me. The words had a trace of anger, but I knew of a certain way to soothe the savage beast inside of her.
“I don’t appreciate tardiness. If you’re trying to get underneath my skin, then it’s working. Devon and Bryce are sitting here shaking their head trying to tell me that you’re worth the aggravation. I had a frank discussion with the both of them and you are going to hear what I have to say to you. Come see me at my office when you finally deem it appropriate to arrive. Fashionably late only works for girls.” She was mocking me, and I could hear that her teeth were clenched on the other end of the line.
She was pretending to show strength in front of her underlings, but I had a feeling she respected me for going by the beat of my own drum.
“I had to stop by and see our visitor. I’m in no hurry to be dressed down. It’s a common occurrence when somebody thinks they have all the power. It usually means that somebody else is calling the shots. We all know that shit rolls downhill,” I said disconnecting the phone with my finger firmly pressing the button.
I announced my presence to the guard at the gate leading to the underground parking facility.
He scanned the piece of paper on his clipboard until he pinpointed my name. There was no reason to hide our true identities. Having everything out in the open showed that Rachel was not opposed to working outside the lines. Our employment would raise a few red flags, but she was in the enviable position of being in control of hiring.
“Mr. Clark, there is a spot dedicated for you on the third level. You can’t miss it. It’s good to have fellow military on board. You have my undying loyalty for everything you have done for this country.” His salute was of one of respect for my accomplishments.
I tried to stay out of the spotlight, but my last assignment for the military put me directly in the targeting sights of my commanding officer.
He had given me my orders and I had gone against them. That could have turned me into a pariah, but instead, he did the worst thing he could possibly do to me. He made me a hero and a celebrity with the flashbulbs blinding me. I was no longer good for anything more than a desk job. I refused to give him the satisfaction of making me waste away to nothing punching numbers.
“I didn’t do anything special. Those kids deserved more than to be considered an acceptable number of casualties in a war. My commanding officer thought the same thing and we made a decision to go in before the attack.” I was biting my tongue and hoping that this man couldn’t see through the subterfuge.
“Were you scared?” I knew what he wanted me to say and there was no point in making myself look inhuman or heartless.
“A certain level of fear keeps you alive. Any soldier knows that when you feel ice water running through your veins is when it’s time to hang it up. The hard decisions are made in the field of battle. We all have to live with what we do in one form or another.” He gave me a formal salute again, but what he didn’t see was that I had purposely misled him on my answer.
I should’ve been scared running headlong into a hailstorm of bullets, but I wasn’t. My fate was sealed from the moment I joined. The candle of my conscience had burned out a long time ago. Rachel gave me hope for the chunk of ice frozen in my chest.
I found my parking spot and walked casually toward the elevators with eyes in the back of my head. I pulled at the tie, feeling like it was a noose around my neck. I was better in the trenches getting dirty and doing what was necessary to bring home a victory.
She was waiting for me at the elevator, but this time she was wearing business attire that made me take a second look. The black leather skirt clung to her hips with the purple blouse modestly making her figure something to covet by the opposite sex.
“I thought tha
t I would meet you personally and give you the nickel tour. This way you can’t avoid me forever by staying three steps ahead of my location in the building. We may as well talk about the elephant in the room.” She lifted my chin to make eye contact.
I had no interest in reliving what had happened, but she wasn’t about to let it go.
“I kissed you or maybe it was the other way around. Does it really matter how it happened? A woman like you is hard to resist.” I needed her in my arms and being pulled away from her was like somebody was pulling my teeth.
I had no idea how I was going to breathe without her smiling face in my life. Every morning was an ordeal to open up my eyes. This morning was the first time in a long time I woke up ready to face the day. She was what was real in my life along with my two brothers. Each of them held a different place in my heart.
“I think you kissed me, but there’s no reason to quibble over the details. It wasn’t a big deal. We got a little carried away. I secretly admired the accuracy of your shooting. I showed my appreciation with a physical display of affection. It won’t happen– mmmmpphhh.” I had her up against the elevator with my knee rubbing her crotch through the leather.
My tongue was in her mouth and I couldn’t help it. Seeing those lips had awakened feelings that had lain dormant for too long. Her lips were soft and demanding with the slightest hint of strawberry. I couldn’t get enough.
I had my hand on the back of her neck, scratching lightly, grazing her skin and watching her tremble from my touch. It had been some time since I had been intimate with a woman. I couldn’t even remember the exact date. My heart and my head were constantly at odds. I couldn’t wish me on my own worst enemy. How could I possibly trust myself around a woman like Rachel?
The jolt of the elevator broke the passionate embrace with the alarm a shrill reminder that we were caught in a small box hanging by a thread of a wire.
Chapter eight
Rachel
My lip was throbbing with this desperate need to continue feeling each other out. The elevator coming to an abrupt standstill pulled me away from him before I was going to do something I was going to regret.
“It looks like the universe is conspiring against us. This has happened before in the past and it won’t take them long to get it up and running again.” I was pressing the button and getting no answer.
I heard something above me and we both glanced in the general direction.
“I’ve learned to follow my instincts. This is going to be hard to communicate, but I don’t want to say anything until I know something for certain.” He blinked with this very subtle break in is neutral tone.
I was glad I wasn’t alone, but Caleb was different from any other man I’d ever known.
He wasn’t panicking or screaming for help like other people would in the same position. Caleb was amazingly cool under pressure—not letting anything rattle his cage. The feeling of his lips and the way his tongue took charge had left me breathless with abandon. I was trying to convince myself mixing business with pleasure would only make us stronger. This was my libido raging strong and looking for a reason to shed some layers.
I wanted to play his body like a musical instrument to make those high-pitched tones that came from a pleasurable release of sexual endorphins. He was everything that I wanted and more.
He was mysterious. I wanted to be the one to open the cover of his life story and read the contents within. There were chapters off limits, but there were other chapters left blank for us to fill in those pages together.
“I’m going to ask you to trust me. We need to see the top of the elevator and there’s only one way to do that.” He knelt on his knee and he placed his hands together to indicate that he was going to be the muscle.
“Don’t drop me. I swear that you’ll never hear the end of it if I break an ankle.” I was teasing him. It was better to insert some levity into a serious situation to keep myself from losing it all together.
“I will warn you that I’m going to be able to see your underwear.”
“What makes you think that I’m wearing any underwear? I like going commando and it feels good to have nothing against my skin. I sleep in the nude. It’s not like anybody else is going to know my dirty little secret outside of this elevator. Discretion is the better part of valor.” I could feel his hands on my bare feet tickling the arches and I smiled despite the danger.
I took one step and one giant leap to grab onto the hatch at the top of the elevator.
“I see you weren’t lying about wearing no underwear. It looks like somebody is a little excited. The lips that I was kissing aren’t the only pair of lips I want to get intimately acquainted with. You didn’t possibly get us caught in here on purpose to have your way with me. There are far better ways to get into my pants than to feign an emergency.” I looked down and saw that he was committing the lower half of my body to his vivid imagination.
“I don’t have to stoop to these levels to get laid. I will have you know that I have many young prospects lined around the block to be with me. I have my choice of anybody.” I opened the hatch, but I couldn’t see anything except something that was blinking red.
I carefully reached for my phone and extracted it from my purse hanging over my shoulder. I turned on the flashlight portion and stared at a bundle of wires connected to what looked like some kind of very powerful explosive. There was a timer indicating that we had less than 2 minutes to find a way out of an elevator that was going to become our coffin.
I visibly reacted with my body trembling and almost losing my balance from the intense shock.
“Tell me what you see. Is it as bad as I think it is or worse?” he asked with his hands gripping my foot tighter with the tension building by the second.
It would’ve been interesting to find out what his idea of worst was, but I was in no position to find out.
My face and hair were covered with a layer of dust and dirt. There was no telling when the last time the top of the elevator was cleaned or serviced for that matter. I was out of my element playing with forces beyond my understanding. I was slightly shell-shocked and blinked back into focus when I felt a pair of hands grazing the inside of my thigh.
“This is no time to get frisky. I would hope that you would be more than a 2-minute wonder. A woman deserves to have the kind of stamina to keep them coming back for more.” I shuddered with his hand touching my bare leg and sending shivers down my spine.
He lowered me to the elevator floor and I could feel the warmth of his body pressed up against me.
“I could tell that it was going to take something a little unorthodox to break you out of your trance. Stay here and let me take a look at this thing that has your jaw dropping to the floor.” He said with his eyes cold like a light switch had gone off.
He leaped with the agility of a Bengal tiger hanging by his fingertips with his legs dangling.
His crotch was eye level and I could see the length and thickness of his manhood. I shouldn’t have been thinking about pulling down his zipper and extracting the meat of the matter. I put my hands underneath his feet with the soles of his combat boots leaving that tread temporarily indented in my palms.
“It’s a crude design. I’m going to need more time and one wrong move could end this game of cat and mouse between us forever. They say when you’re nervous that you should picture everybody naked. I would rather picture you naked, but that would be a distraction.” He was purposely making it sound like it was no big deal, but his smile wasn’t fooling me.
He was lowering my inhibitions, but for some reason, I was thinking about all three of them completely at my mercy doing obscene things to them for hours. It had to be the tense moment causing me to see my inner desire bleeding through.
I had never been with three men at the same time, but the idea was intriguing me. There was nothing holding me back. I was the architect of my own desire. I could build the perfect man out of the three of them. Thoughts of three hard cocks
dripping with persuasion instantly became a guilty obsession.
“There’s not much time left. If there’s somebody that you need to call, then I would do that.” He wasn’t kidding and there was nothing in his tone to make me believe this was his dark humor at work.
The ticking of my internal clock was making nervous beads of sweat drip between my cleavage.
I felt a little uncomfortable. I made up my mind with my life flashing before my eyes that I wasn’t going to let another opportunity slip through my fingers that I was going to regret.
“We still have 30 seconds. It might not sound like much, but it is longer than you can imagine. I might have an idea, but it’s not without its risks. I’m not religious, but it wouldn’t hurt to say a silent prayer.”
I had no idea what he was doing, but fading away into obscurity wasn’t on my list of things to do today.
“Right now any idea is a good idea. I’m going to trust your judgment.” It felt strange to depend on a man, but I also felt this exhilaration that I couldn’t quite describe.
“There are 10 seconds left.” It was hard to take him seriously with no discernible worry in his words.
I counted them down in my head one second at a time until I reached zero.
My eyes were closed, but I never abandoned my post at his feet. Nothing happened and I thought the worst was over. I breathed a sigh of relief, but the next words out of his mouth had any victory short lived.
“I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the only thing I accomplished was to give us a few extra minutes. This isn’t in my wheelhouse. Bryce knows the mechanics of explosives better than anybody. I was able to short-circuit the timing mechanism to start over from where it began at 6 minutes. I hope I didn’t give you any false hope. I can only do that one time without triggering the device to go off. I could try pulling wires, but that would be a shot in the dark.”
