“I take it you like being in control.” He growled down, as he reached for her and dragged her back up his body. His hands were already peeling off her clothes as she stared up at him.
“Not all the time…” He eased her jeans down her legs and then just for the hell of it ripped off her panties.
“Good, this isn’t one of those times.” He growled out. Lifting her up and wrapping her legs around his hips as he stalked over to the bed with purpose. Devouring her mouth as though he couldn’t get enough of her, even with the taste of himself on her tongue, she tasted glorious to him.
He crawled up the bed with her and laid her on the middle of the mattress. His hands already running over her body and consigning every inch he touched to memory, as his tongue followed. Flipping her over onto her stomach in one fast movement he worked his tongue down her spine from the nape of her neck to the crack at the top of her backside, before flipping her back over and covering one hard, pebbled bud of her breast with his lips as he suckled her.
The hard jolts of excitement that hit her deep within had her gasping, as she reached for his head and she fisted her hands in his hair. He pulled back away from her touch and lifted her hips from the bed, bringing her lower body up towards him, as he lifted first one leg and put it over his broad shoulder, and then the other.
His tongue swirled against the pink puckered hole of her backside before running the length of her folds to the nub, he sucked it into his mouth and devoured it with a passion that made her cry out, so close to release. But he wasn’t ready to release her just yet. He nibbled and sucked his way down her folds until he reached her wet channel, the scent of her arousal almost driving him wild with the need to be inside her, and he rimmed the sensitive nerves before pushing inside as far as he could. The sound of her moans was like a purr to his ears, and he hardened until he ached with need.
“Ben…” She almost begged, and she had never begged for anything in her life.
“Not yet.” He growled against her as he worked back up to her nub. His fingers replaced his tongue and he pushed into her on a deliberately slow slide, as he teased her nub with his tongue. He saw her hands fist the covers beside her and he rubbed over the sweet spot until her knuckles were white and her hips pushed up, searching for release.
“Ben please…” She wasn’t sure if she wanted to escape him or get closer, if she wanted to push on up the bed or lasso him too her. She needed release, she needed him to give it to her.
Ben sucked against her nub with a ferociousness that consumed her, sweeping her up and thrusting her over the edge as she cried out with the throbbing pleasure that exploded outwards from her womb to every inch of her body. Waves of pleasure coursed through her heated blood until she fought to come back down to earth, but he had other ideas, he didn’t let her go, he didn’t even ease off in his ministrations against her, if anything it felt more ferocious this time, more demanding, and more powerful as he took her back to the edge and hurled her over.
Silver had never felt anything like it before in her life, the spasms of her inner muscles, a hard throbbing that pulsed outwards throughout her body, as she could do nothing more than to ride out her pleasure, and his tongue kept it rolling through her. She wanted to tear herself away from him, to curl up and take shelter from the fire that ravaged every inch of her with thunderous pulses of hard pleasure, and yet she couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe, was powerless to do anything.
“Don’t fear losing control Silver, embrace it.” He breathed against her ear as he leaned over her body, gently nestling between her thighs, as his hands soothed her body back to him.
“How the hell did you do that?” She gasped in breaths as her eyes slowly opened, half way under hooded lids, and she looked at him with so much passion that his heart hurt.
“I know what my mate needs, just as you did earlier.” He brushed her hair away from her face, soothed her brow and kissed her gently, until her legs wrapped around his and she sought him inside her.
Ben couldn’t stop kissing her, as he eased against the swollen walls and still throbbing muscles within her, the tiny gasps and the gentle moans he caught in his mouth as he stretched her body around his thick shaft.
Her hands palmed his chest and he waited for her body to accept him before easing in further, claiming her as his, as his wolf demanded more with every long second that passed by.
“I’m going to mark you as mine.” Ben breathed against her lips as he pulled back and stroked back inside her.
“No, we should bond.” Silver saw the look of amusement in his eyes as he stroked within her.
“You’re not ready for that yet my love.” He growled against the ferociousness of the wolf as he denied him what the beast desired most.
Mine.
“But, Ben.” She started, but he silenced her with his lips, slowly devouring her mind and body as the stroke’s inside her became thrusts, taking her faster and building her passion back up as he found her wrists and pinned her down to the bed with his hips and his hands. Her submission to him complete when she turned her head to the side and offered him her throat.
Ben felt the ache of his fangs as they slid down into place. His hips thrust harder against hers, faster as she neared her climax, and when he felt her muscles tightened around him he pressed his fangs against her salted skin. Felt the give of her flesh as they eased into her, and tasted her blood on his tongue as he took her over the edge and she cried out in her passion.
Ben felt her body go limp beneath his, felt her inner muscles clench and release his shaft in powerful waves that called his own orgasm on and he released his fangs from her shoulder and buried himself within her. Her body milked the seed from within him, as he thrust back over and again, until he was spent.
Silver had been quite impressed with her last boyfriend, Todd Perkins, he’d managed to make it to the hour mark the last time they had been intimate. That of course included foreplay and the time she needed to wait to check the clock on her nightstand afterwards, as he started to snore beside her. But last night, wow, she still had a smile on her face when she went down for breakfast the next morning. Her muscles were tight and she was a little sore in places that she didn’t give a hoot about, but she was more than satisfied, she was damn glowing.
That was until she walked into the kitchen and came face to face with Emily’s pouting lips and sour expression. Ashley seemed unusually quiet as well, and the fact that she wasn’t shovelling food into her mouth, when there was plenty on her plate, gave Silver even more cause to be curious.
“What’s up?” Silver slipped onto one of the hardback chairs and instantly pulled up short. More than a little sore, she winced as Ashley raised a brow at her and she sneered back.
“Your alpha seems to think that we need pack approval to move to this backwater town.” Emily whined, cutting a dark look at Ben as he pushed his plate away from him and rested his elbows upon the table.
“Ok. Back peddle a little here guys. I have no idea…” Silver started and Emily huffed, folding her arms across her chest as her mate soothed her.
“It’s common practice, Em. Just go with it.” Kirk breathed against her ear and she shrugged her shoulders.
“Hello? Late comer here, what’s the problem?” Silver leaned back against the chair and snatched a piece of bacon from Ashley’s plate. She noticed the loss of food, but didn’t comment, which only made Silver more suspicious. Normally the fork would already be aimed at the back of her hand.
“Emily and Kirk want to buy a place in town so Emily can be near to us…” Ashley offered the explanation that nobody else was giving her.
“Great…” Silver grinned at her friend and got a dark look for her trouble. Silver looked towards Ben.
“The pack has to be consulted about the proximity of a vampire to their land…” He started to explain and Emily huffed again as Silver shook her head in confusion.
“But it’s Kirk…” She motioned towards him and he raised his brows
at her, a small devilish smile played over his lips.
“I’m not sure if that’s an insult.” He mused, making a show of considering her statement.
“Any vampire.” Ben informed her, his eyes locking with hers and she shuffled in her chair.
“But it’s Kirk.” It didn’t matter how many times she said his name, she still found it amusing. Ben shook his head and dropped his eyes to the table in front of him without another word.
“Can I speak with you in private?” Silver phrased it as a question and yet it really wasn’t. She was already up and out of her chair and heading for the kitchen door before he could have thought to say no.
By the time he walked out of the room she was already in full swing. Taking a step towards him she hissed up at him.
“What are you doing that’s Emily’s mate…?” She motioned back towards the kitchen and he shoved his hands deep into his pockets, because all he wanted to do was to pull her close and sooth her.
“I know, but it makes no difference.” He had the look of an alpha about him now, she noted, as she stared up at him in disbelief.
“What do you mean makes no difference? It’s Emily and Kirk for god…” Silver threw up her hands and turned away from him, but she wasn’t done so she whirled back around for another shot. “You’re the alpha, you make the decision…”
“Not about this. This effect’s the whole pack…” He informed her and she whirled back away from him. Running her hand through her hair and blowing out the steam that was rising within her.
“So what you’re gonna have a meeting?” She demanded and he nodded. He might have just as well have reached out and slapped her around the face. She pulled back from him in much the same way.
“Fine, you have your meeting. Tell me how that goes.” She started away from him towards the front door, but he caught up with her in two easy strides, reaching out he snagged the oversized hooded top she had liberated from his drawer, and pulled her back around to face him.
“Where are you going?” Ben asked, trying to keep his annoyance with her from rising to the surface, but she could see it was there, she just didn’t give a damn.
“Out. Do you need a pack meeting for that?” She snapped, as she tried to pull her arm from his grasp, but he held the top firmly and she hissed out her annoyance, and shucked out of it. Starting for the front door again.
Silver pulled back on the handle and saw his hand in front of her as he slammed it back shut, and she bit down on a string of curses she wanted to deliver.
“Don’t walk away when we are discussing…” He growled beside her ear and had to pull back, as she spun in place, her green eyes alight with the fire of her anger.
“You’re discussing, your pack is discussing…”
“Our pack.” He corrected her and she hitched her weight from one foot to the other. With a shake of her head, she pursed her hips and stared up at him.
“Our pack? No. I don’t think so, Ben. I think you were right last night. I’m not ready for this or for you…” Silver wanted nothing more than to feel his arms around her, comforting her, soothing her, and telling her that everything was going to be alright. But she couldn’t let that happen.
“Silver…” He bit down on the anger that rose within him. “I’m going to put their case before the pack…”
“Hmm…” Silver snagged her top lip with her teeth. Staring blind off over his shoulder, she raised her hand to her lip and tried to still the tears she felt stirring in her eyes. It felt as if her heart was breaking inside of her. “I think you should do that. Because I think Ashley is going to need Emily close to her.” Silver took a deep breath and she felt it catch in her throat, as she tried to push it back out. “But this…” She motioned between them. “Us…” She nearly broke as she shook her head. “I don’t think we can work out.”
CHAPTER TEN
Silver frowned down at the floor. She saw his feet move and felt him lean towards her, but she shook her head and took a step away from him. “Please open the door and let me go.”
Ben looked down at her. His heart was beating faster than it ever had within his chest, a heavy painful beat that he could feel through his whole body. He wanted to pull her to him and never let her out of his arms again. He wanted to take her upstairs and make love to her for the rest of his life. The two of them never leaving the sanctity of their bed. He wanted to bond with her and keep her by his side. What he didn’t want was for her to walk out of that door.
“Let you go?” Ben asked and saw her nod slowly. Understanding what she was telling him. “That’s what you want?” He needed to make sure. He needed her to be sure.
“Yes. It’s what I want.” Silver didn’t look up at him. She just couldn’t do it, she knew she’d be in a million pieces on the floor before she could look away again.
Ben reached around her and pulled open the front door without a word, and she didn’t hesitate, not for one second, because she knew she would never leave if she did. She just turned and walked away. One damned foot in front of the other damned foot.
“I’m worried Ash, it’s been over two weeks and she hasn’t been home…” Emily pinned for her Fae sister. By the time that Ben had told them she had left, she was already gone without a trace. No sign of her anywhere, it was as if she just fell off the planet.
Now they were home and boxing up their belongings to move in with their mate’s, they were at a loss with what they should do next. It was a fact that if she did turn up back at their flat, she certainly wouldn’t be able to pay the rent on her own. They couldn’t leave her stuff there in case she didn’t come back for it, and even though Kirk had offered to pay the rent up for the rest of the year, neither one of them could bear to think of her being alone in the city.
“We’ll take her stuff back with us. That means when she’s ready to show herself, she’ll have to contact one of us to get her things. Simple.” Ashley, ever the pragmatist, was certain that she was on the right track. Silver needed to come to them. They had tried to find her, contacting everyone that she knew, but now they were out of options. “We just need to wait her out.”
“I hate to say it, but I feel so sorry for Ben.” Emily confessed, keeping her voice low so the mate’s couldn’t hear her, as they hauled boxes down the stairs to the van.
Ashley balked, “Ben? If it wasn’t for him she would still…” Emily shot her a look of disbelief.
“Look. The alpha did what he had to do. I get that… Now.” She admitted, feeling the guilt wash through her. If she hadn’t of been such a bitch on that morning and caused a fuss, then Silver and Ben might never have been fighting and Silver might never have left.
“Little late, Em.” Ashley snapped back, feeling the same amount of guilt that Emily did for her part in splitting the mates apart.
“Well, I do feel for him. He’s lost his mate…”
“And don’t we all know it. Bear with a sore butt…”
“Head.” Emily shot back, correcting her and Ashley shook her head.
“Not in his case. He’s acting like an arse.”
Kirk walked up behind Emily and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her back against his chest and kissing her cheek.
“Still worried about Silver?” He knew the answer to that. And Ashley shot Emily a look that said it all anyway.
“She’ll be back.” Vaughn hefted a box onto his broad shoulders and grabbed another as the girls looked at him expectantly. “It’s the mating thing, you’ve seen how Ben has been, and she’ll be as itchy as he is.”
“Itchy?” Ashley snorted. “Not a word I’d use to describe him.” She muttered as she turned around and placed a folded card on the mantelpiece.
“What’s that for?” Emily motioned to it and Ashley shrugged.
“It’s for Silver. It says, we have your stuff and we’re holding it hostage until you get in touch.”
Ashley rubbed her hand over the swell of her belly and looked out at the frozen landscape. Never one to mis
s the city since she had moved onto pack land to be with Vaughn, she found she missed it now, or was there just someone that was still missing from her life?
She had never thought to be this happy. Pregnant and settled into her life with Vaughn, but she still wondered every day where the hell Silver had gone. Three months and no real word. A damn text message one month in to say that she was safe and then her phone had pinged back all of her attempts to contact her.
“Look at you rubbing your stomach, it just looks like you pigged out at Joe’s café.” Emily teased as she came up behind her to stare out at another winter’s day. “More snow, so get used to it kiddo.” Emily teased, leaning down to talk to the slight bump, and Ashley nudged her with a chuckle.
“Don’t you start talking to my stomach as well. Vaughn does it all the time and it drives me nuts.” Ashley ground her teeth and sighed and Emily quirked her brow in amusement.
“I know I’ve seen him do that. That’s why I did it, because it makes your brow go all crinkly right between your eyebrows.” Emily spun on her heels and went back to her coffee and Danish at the table.
“Where do you think silver is?” Ashley sighed as she turned back to Emily.
“Knowing Silver, she joined the damn circus.” Emily bit out. Angry with Silver for leaving the way she did, but more angry with herself for causing the bust up in the first place.
“I saw Ben yesterday, he’s still pinning for her, says he’s not, but you can tell.”
“He looks…”
“Haunted.” Ashley tossed back, as she turned back to the window and her eyes locked onto the little black shape in the distance. Wondering if Ben was roaming in his wolf form again she watched it gain ground. He seemed to do that a lot lately.
“Haunted, yeah. But then it is Silver we’re talking about. If anyone’s going to be an annoying persistent spectre in someone’s life…”
