She smiled and said, “Luckier than you know, my love.”

He looked at her with questions in his eyes. She leaned close and whispered in his ear. He pulled back and looked down then back into her face. She nodded as her smile widened. His face went pale and then he was on his feet bellowing, “Sparky! I need to hire you right now for the next six months!”

She started laughing and pulled him back down and kissed him. “That’s not necessary. I’m perfectly safe; just growing a little Lawson right now.”

He looked stunned and she grinned. This was her husband. Kris Lawson, the Thorn to her Rose. Her hero and to think she found him right next door.

  The End

  Note from the Author

I sure hope you all liked this first Her Hero book. I had such fun writing about Raisa and Kris. Just a few things. The Special Boat Unit is a real thing they started in Vietnam as a necessary unit to combat the enemy on the rivers of that country. They were tough teams of both Navy personnel and marines able to fight on both land and rivers. I was privileged to meet some of the more recent version of the units when I was in the navy. When I met them they were still a highly classified secret of the Navy but now they aren’t, they just aren’t known either. I took some creative license in describing their missions because what they do is still classified.

If this story sparked your interest I wanted to let you know that yes there are several other tales to be told. Next will be Sparky’s own adventure. Because that spunky little woman kind of hammered her way into my heart. I also have stories for Spidey, Mac and who knows even Eagle may find true love. But only if you the readers let me know you want them too. Just drop me an email or let me know on Facebook. Because while I write the stories I want to read I only publish those you want to read or I think you want to read.

  Happy reading my friends,

  George

  About the Author

G eorge McVey always wanted to be a superhero; sadly, no radioactive storms or animals have been a part of his life. One day while spinning a tall tale for his family, some suggested once again that with all his experiences in ministry, and his imagination, he should be writing books. This time it was like lightning struck him and he decided, why not.

Since then, George has been hard at work using his creative imagination and writing several books. He's still adding to his bibliography to this day. You can find them all on his Amazon.com page. George lives in the wonderful state of Almost Heaven, West Virginia. In a lovely basement apartment with his wife of 31 years, Sheri, and a service dog named Daisy Mae.

If you ever come to visit him, you will probably find him sitting in his lazy boy recliner or at his desk in the office working on some writing project. . If he isn't working on a novel, then he will be working on a short story or blog post. If he isn't doing either of those then he is either asleep or eating, his other two favorite past times.
