Gurl Next Door

“Got a beer?”
“I think so.”
After putting the flowers on the kitchen counter, I returned to the pool with a beer and handed it to him and said, “I don’t think it’s a high end brand, but it’s a beer.”
Taking it he twisted the top off, took a swig and said, “Works for me.”
As we stood there together with the sun beaming down on us Cole was clearly checking me out in my new orange string bikini. His gaze traveled from top to bottom as he examined me and I could practically feel his eyes as they moved across my body. Having spent a lot of time as a man in a past life I knew what he was feeling, which was an irresistible hunger that demanded to be extinguished, and like all men powerless to the woman that was causing his momentary dilemma.
I loved the way that he was looking at me as it seemed to satisfy something in my soul, a hunger just like he was experiencing, but on an emotional level instead. As he continued scanning me I knew one thing for sure and that was I didn’t want him to stop.
“Hey, want to go swimming?” I asked.
“I would but I have no trunks.”
“Darn,” I said.
After thinking for a moment, I said, “I’ve got a pair if you would like to borrow them.”
“You do? How do you have a pair of men’s swim trunks?”
Thinking fast I said, “Just before we moved here my cousin left a pair at our house when he came over to a pool party.”
Okay, I’m a liar. But, how could I tell him I used to be a man and they were previously mine. Who would believe that?
He shrugged his eyebrows and looked upward.
“Don’t worry about your boys being where someone else’s have been, they’ve been washed, they’re clean.”
He laughed and said, “Dana, how did you know what I was thinking?”
“Cole, you would not believe the insight that I have into the male mind.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah, you know I’m a Psychology major right?”
“No, I did not.”
“Anyway, if you’re comfortable with wearing them let’s get you out of those clothes and into some swimwear,” and then we started into the house.
What did I just say? Let’s get you out of those clothes? I can’t believe I said that! I hope he doesn’t think I’m a slut. Why am I even worried about this? Do I have something going on, on a subliminal level where I want to get into his panties, or should I say let him get into mine?
I took Cole into my bedroom gave him the trunks and told him to join me by the pool when he was dressed and shut the door. Returning to the kitchen, I got a beer for myself and went back out by the pool and kicked back in the lounge chair. As I lay there, I thought about him and how I was growing more and more attracted to him, and was disturbed at the sudden shift in my thinking about sexuality.
Next thing I knew I heard a voice saying, “Well what do you think?” and as I turned around there he stood in the boardshorts I used to wear. As I checked him out it was clear that he had apparently been working out to some degree and I could not help but notice his pecs. Like a lot of young guys, he shaved leaving his chest bare which I also found very enticing for some reason, as it was better than the 1970’s porn star look in my opinion. Older women might disagree with that but then again, I was now a younger woman and not an older one.
“They look great on you,” I said.
“Thanks Dana.”
“Come on, let’s get in the water,” I said.
Holding onto the handrail we walked down the steps of the pool until we reached the bottom where we continued wading into the water, which was slightly cool, until we had submerged ourselves up to our shoulders. Looking across the water I saw a couple of air mattresses and a beach ball which mom had apparently blown up and placed by the pool, because I sure hadn’t.
“The water feels nice, thanks for suggesting that we go swimming.”
“It’s great isn’t it?” I replied.
As we stood there in the water facing one another I could not help but gaze at him adoringly, as my level of attraction for him was undeniable. Up to this point it had been growing slowly but now it had reaching the point where it was multiplying by leaps and bounds, whether I liked it or not. And I liked it! I wanted him to kiss me more than anything, but I was horrified at the prospect of letting him. As I stood there thinking about it I began to envision it in my mind, and as I did so my heart began to beat rapidly from the potential excitement, not to mention the fear. I wanted to get his attention and let him know that I was interested, but how?
I took my hand and splashed water in his face and as I did, he said, “Hey!” and I started laughing. Then I did it again and a huge smile came across his face from ear to ear, so I splashed him once more and then I started moving across the water quickly. Heading toward the edge of the pool he was in hot pursuit as I reached the side where I turned around and faced him. As I stood there waiting on him, he came right up to me and placed himself in front of me. I bit my lower lip briefly, still standing there smiling at him. Slowly he moved his head toward me and the next thing I knew his lips were pressing against mine, and as our flesh pressed together all the fears I’d had about kissing him vanished in an instant.
As I opened my mouth, he quickly accepted my invitation and entered, and in no time our tongues were rotating in a frenzy of passion. He was a spectacular kisser and really knew how to turn a girl on, and I couldn’t get enough of the way he was kissing me as we stood there in the pool with our arms wrapped around one another. It was also clear that he was in the mood as well as I could feel his rock-hard manhood pressed up against me, telling me that he was ready to take me which led to my next dilemma. Was I ready to have sex with a man? I’d worried about letting him kiss me and that’d worked out well, and I had no regrets about that, but the next phase was a big, big deal, and made the kissing thing look like a drop in the bucket by comparison.
Pulling back from him I moved my arms and put them around his neck and said, “That was nice.”
Smiling at me he nodded and said, “Yeah, it was.”
“You’re a nice guy Cole.”
“Thanks,” he said, “I was just thinking the same about you.”
Laughing I asked, “Oh yeah?”
Nodding he said, “Yeah.”
Giving him a quick peck on the lips I asked, “So you think I’m a nice guy too?”
Chuckling he said, “No, the opposite, but more liked a nice wholesome girl,” pausing he continued, “There’s a phrase I’m trying to remember but can’t think of right now that describes you. Hmmm. What is that phrase?”
“The girl next door?” I asked.
“That’s it!”
“I’ll take that as a compliment,” I said.
“And you should,” he replied.
As we stood there gazing at one another we ended up kissing again and I was extremely tempted to have sex with him, but the fear of the act, plus the fact that I was not on birth control kept me in check.
Breaking our kiss, I asked, “It’s kind of hot, think we should get out of the pool and get something to drink?”
Nodding he said, “That might not be a bad idea.”
Cole and I ended up heading to the kitchen where we sat down, had a refreshing beverage and chatted, and we truly had a great conversation. He was not only attractive but also had a wonderful personality.
After changing I walked him to the front door where I opened it and said, “I had a great afternoon with you Cole.”
Nodding he said, “Me too.”
Standing there in awkward silence for a moment I said, “Maybe we could get together again if you’d like?”
With an ear to ear smile he said, “I’d really like that.”
Starting out the door he suddenly turned around, gave me one last kiss and walked down the steps, and I stood there watching him until he was out of sight.
Chapter 15
It was 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoo
n as mom and I pulled up in front of the residence of Dawn Mills in Center Point. Getting out of the car we walked up the steps and rang the doorbell and waited. Within a few seconds an attractive blonde woman of about forty answered the door and asked, “Hi, may I help you?”
“We bought the house you just sold in Four Points and were wondering if we could talk to you,” Mom said.
“Please, come in,” she said.
Following her into her living room she invited us to sit down on the couch and then asked, “Would you like something to drink?”
Shaking my head, I said, “No thank you but we appreciate it.”
Sitting down in a huge leather recliner she asked, “So, what can I tell you about the house? Is there something wrong? We thought we did a pretty good job of disclosing everything that might be wrong with the place.”
Shaking my head I said, “Nothing like that, I just want to asked you about something,” and I then reached into the tote bag I was carrying and pulled out the mysterious box that housed the necklace that transformed me into a girl.
As she saw me produce the box her eyes became wide and I could tell that I had definitely gotten her attention.
“Where did you find it?” she asked.
“I was putting up books and found it in a panel behind the bookcase.”
Nodding she said, “Which is exactly where I found it and also left it, when I tucked it away there twenty years ago.”
Pausing she looked at me and asked, “Have you tried it on?”
I nodded.
“Did you wear it to bed overnight by chance?”
“I did.”
“So did I one night twenty years ago.”
“Ms. Mills ….”
“Call me Dawn,” she said.
“Dawn, so you, like me woke up one morning to find that you had been turned ….”
Cutting me off she said, “Yes, I used to be a guy, until that morning I woke up and everything had changed.”
Leaning forward she asked, “How are you dealing with the change?”
“Pretty well all things considered. It is a bit of a switch though. You seemed to have dealt with it okay.”
Nodding she said, “I did not at first, but as time went on I accepted it, and eventually learned to love being a female, which was actually good for me. My life as D-O-N, versus D-A-W-N, was a reckless one and it seemed like I always had run-ins with the law, was getting into trouble, and was a general hell raiser. Plus, I drank heavily and would even use drugs from time to time. After finding the necklace one night I put it on and then passed out, as I was pretty wasted that night, and when I woke up I was a girl, the one you see before you, only I was twenty years younger. At first, I hated it, and could not believe that something so terrible had happened to me, but as time went on I settled down, and with the help of my mother learned how to live and act as a girl. I tell you one thing it was probably a good thing because the path I was on as a man was a destructive one and if I hadn’t been changed I would probably have ended up dead or in prison.”
“And you’ve been happy being a female?” I asked.
Smiling she said, “Yes, and I’ve truly loved my life. Within a year of the change I got married, ended up becoming a commercial real estate agent and have had a great career and had two children. Five years ago we bought the house mom was living in planning to settle there, but three years ago my husband passed away and that changed everything. So, when my youngest child went off to college last year I decided it was time to get the house ready and put it on the market, and I decided to move here, to Center Point, where I could be closer to my mom and help her as she got older. That’s my story.”
“It sounds like you’ve had a nice life,” Mom said.
Nodding she said, “Yes, I’ve had a blessed life.”
“Did you ever do any research to try and find out if there was a way to reverse the process and see if maybe you could get changed from a woman back to a man?” I asked.
Laughing she said, “If there had been a way we would not be sitting her having this discussion now because when it happened there was nothing I wanted more than to get back to being the old me, a guy.”
“Dawn, do you have any idea at all where the necklace came from? Who might have left it in the house?”
Shaking her head, she said, “No. The people that mom bought the house from originally were the second owners of the house and decided to return to their home in China after they sold it and were impossible to find. The original owners were a couple last name Smith, who told some of the locals that they were moving to Los Angeles after they sold, hence, there was no way to track them down. Who made the necklace and how it got there is just as big a mystery now as it was when I found it twenty years ago.”
“With the necklace being so powerful you decided to leave it behind the bookcase?”
Nodding she said, “Yes, I figured it would be safer there than removing it from the house and taking it with me. After all, a life altering thing like that should be tucked away and kept a secret, but that’s my opinion.”
“I think I agree with you Dawn, we should reseal it behind the wall and forget about it, don’t you agree Dana?” Mom asked.
I nodded and said, “I do. So, I guess that’s that then,” I said, and then rose to my feet.
Standing up mom said, “Dawn, we appreciate your time today.”
“I’m sorry I couldn’t have been more help,” Dawn said.
After walking to the front door Dawn said to me, “Dana, if there’s anything you ever need, even if you just want to come over and talk, you are welcome anytime.”
I gave her a brief hug and thanked her, and mom and I walked down the steps toward the car.
Chapter 16
Mom and I were silent as we started home because after all, what was there to say? My chances of returning to being Dana the guy were over, and it was time for me to face the fact that a new chapter in my left had begun.
“Thanks for driving me today,” I said.
“Of course, dear.”
After a few more seconds I said, “I knew when we went today that we would not find a solution, and in many ways I had already come to terms with it, this road trip was just a formality.”
“You seem to be doing quite well Dana. You’ve got a lot of courage as well as strength. From what I’ve seen so far you’ve made it look almost easy.”
Smiling I said, “As strange as this sounds mom, I have kind of been sliding right into the role of being a woman somewhat effortlessly, in some ways it’s been almost too simple.”
“Oh yeah?”
Nodding I said, “Yeah. As a man, the thought of being a woman was not something that I ever even entertained, it never crossed my mind, but now everything is so different.”
“Like how?”
“You know mom, I hope you don’t think I’m weird but I’ve gotten used to some aspects of being a girl, and I’ve gotten very comfortable with them, and in some ways, I like being a female.”
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that, after all, you are a biological female.”
“Who is having her first period right now, my least favorite part of being a girl,” I said as we chuckled.
“It comes with the territory,” Mom said and smiled.
After a few moments’ mom asked, “So, what do you like best about being a female?”
“It’s several things. For one thing I like my body, and I love standing in front of the mirror, sometimes with no clothes on and looking at myself, and thinking how fortunate I am to be blessed with my looks and my figure.”
“You are a very attractive girl Dana.”
“Thanks mom. I also like wearing pretty clothes, and absolutely love the way they look on me. By the way I want to buy some more heels to match my dresses provided I can learn to walk in the ones I have now, and don’t kill myself in the process.”
“You’re doing a great job by the way,” Mom said.
“I also
love the sound of my voice and how gentle it is compared to the way it used to be, and I like hearing myself when I sing along with the radio in my new soprano tone.”
I stopped talking for a few moments and then said, “There are even more things that I liked about being a member of the fairer sex but I think you’ve got the idea. But there is one thing I wanted to talk to you about. Remember how we talked about my future as a female and the lifestyle I would choose? And you said you would support whatever decision I made?”
“I do.”
“Well, mom, I think I’ve made a decision, at least for now.”
“Do tell.”
“Because inquiring minds want to know, right?”
“Inquiring moms want to know,” and we then chuckled at her comment.
“Okay, remember Cole? Our next-door neighbor who’s dad is a lawyer and he’s studying premed?”
“You’ve told me about him, but we’ve not met yet.”
“That’s getting ready to change because I think I’m kind of crazy about him.”
“That’s great honey, and he feels the same way about you?”
I nodded, “He does. He really digs me.”
“Have you spent any time with him since you saw him at the courthouse that day?”
“I’ve not been able to talk with you very much since Monday when you were last off work but yes we have.”
“What did you guys do?”
“Okay, on Tuesday he came over to the house and I helped him jump start his car. That was right after you left for work. Then, he came back later to thank me and even gave me a dozen roses.”
“I was wondering where those flowers came from,” Mom said.
“Anyway, I’d been lying by the pool before he got there and was in my orange bikini, and you wouldn’t believe how he was checking me out.”
“Yes, I would,”
“So, I asked him if he would like to go swimming.”
“Really?”
I nodded and said, “Yes, I even loaned him my old swim trunks. He asked why I had a pair of men’s swimwear and I told him they belonged to my cousin who left them over at our house. Little did he know that his girlfriend’s former equipment had once been in those trunks.”
