  He glared coldly at Chen Yan and Zheng Haoyu. “I wonder who it was who said that I was a pervert. Look who’s the real pervert now!” He said mockingly.

  Zheng Haoyu’s legs went limp again and he fell sitting down on the chair.

  His face was pale as a sheet, and he slumped on the chair as though his soul had left his body.

  He knew that his reputation was in tatters.

  Stonegate Town was a small place, and news spread around very quickly. His relatives and all the people who knew him would have heard about the news by tomorrow.

  How would they regard him then?

  Pervert? Lecher?

  It was a total disaster!

  More incredibly, he had saved those videos in a computer in his house at Provincial City, and no one else could have gotten their hands on them. How did the kid obtain them?

  Chen Yan was stunned. She could not explain her way out of that.

  She even thought of blaming her son. In her eyes, he must have accidentally shared it with other people, and that was how the kid found the videos.

  ‘It’s all over!’

  Chen Yan was shocked, but she laughed. “My family is bankrupt? You must be crazy, you filthy kid! We’re still fine!”

  Tang Hao chuckled. “If the Zheng family is as fine as you say, then why would you and your son be going after Xiangyi’s money? That’s not only greedy but also contemptible!”

  Chen Yan started to panic. She did not understand how the kid knew about her family’s situation.

  ‘There’s something uncanny about this kid!’

  She had thought that the kid would be a pushover. His birthday present was proof that he was not a shrewd person. However, she was caught unprepared when the kid decided to retaliate.

  He knew about the motel reservations and the videos, and now even their family finances!

  That was utterly impossible!

  ‘What… What are you saying? The Zheng family is wealthy. That small amount of money is loose change to us! Don’t spout nonsense!” Chen Yan yelled.

  Everyone also started laughing.

  The kid must have been mistaken. The Zheng family should have been more well-off than the Qin family, so they should not be coveting Qin Xiangyi’s money.

  Zheng Haoyu’s face was instantly pale when he heard that.

  The news struck him like a bolt of lightning. His mind went utterly blank.

  ‘How could this be?

  He shuddered again when he arrived at that thought. Then, he lifted his head and looked at the boy in front of him.

  The timing was too coincidental.

  ‘How is it possible?’

  One needed to wield a lot of authority in Provincial City to bring the Zheng family down. However, that kid was born and raised in a mountain village, so how could he have that much authority?

  As he spoke, Tang Hao glared coldly at Chen Yan and Zheng Haoyu.

  Everyone was shocked as they heard him talk. They went wide-eyed and slack-jawed.

  The Zheng family mother and son were dumbstruck.

  “How could it be him…” Chen Yan muttered in a daze.

  In her eyes, Tang Hao was still a poor kid from a mountain village, so how did he suddenly wield so much authority?

  “So, it’s you!” Zheng Haoyu came to his senses. His face was contorted with anger as he pointed a finger at Tang Hao.

  “You’re the one who ruined the Zheng family! You’ll pay for this!”

  He roared as he rushed toward Tang Hao with a raised fist.

  Tang Hao chuckled. He lifted a leg and kicked him away. “If you hadn’t thought of framing me, I wouldn’t have laid a finger on you! You’re the one who ruined yourself!”

  Old Master Qin stood up and chided them. “Chen Yan, and Zheng Haoyu, it’s true that the two of you were the ones who came here with sinister intentions. Also, both of you are shameless to go after my granddaughter’s money!

  “The two of you can leave now! I don’t welcome you at my birthday celebration! I wonder what would Brother Zheng think of you if he’s still alive.”

  Then, he turned to speak to Tang Hao. “Little Brother Tang, they might be at fault, but I was wondering if you could forgive them on my behalf. There’s no need to force them on a dead end.”

  “Since you’ve said so, I’ll stop right here then!” Tang Hao said.

  Chen Yan and Zheng Haoyu stumbled out of the courtyard pathetically.

  Tang Hao dusted his hands and returned to his seat.

  The atmosphere in the courtyard was somewhat unsettling. Everyone stole glances at Tang Hao, though instead of looking at him with condescension or hostility, their gazes were full of admiration and respect.

  “That’s a good one, Younger Brother-in-law!” Qin Gang laughed. “Tell me, how did you do it?”

  “It’s nothing. Someone in Provincial City happens to owe me a debt of gratitude,” Tang Hao said.

  Qin Gang immediately understood that Tang Hao must have powerful people backing him.

  Soon, everyone started to eat and drink again and resumed their merriment.

  Suddenly, several cars arrived at the entrance.

  A group of people got out of the cars and entered the courtyard.

  Everyone was surprised when they saw who they were.

  Some of the people in the group held important roles in the town council. Even the town mayor was there. They were escorting someone as they came in.

  Old Master Qin immediately stood up when he saw who came in. “Mayor Xu, he’s…?”

  “He? He’s Secretary Qian, the district secretary!”

  “Wow!” Everyone exclaimed in surprise.

  Old Master Qin was confused. He was not acquainted with the district secretary at all! The Qin family might be wealthy, but they were not particularly remarkable in the entire Westridge District. They did not have any connections with the secretary.

  Why was Secretary Qian present then?

  Everyone was confused for a while.

  “Ah, Old Master Qin! I was here on short notice and I didn’t prepare any presents. I hope you don’t mind it!” Secretary Qian greeted Old Master Qin eagerly.

  “It’s nothing!” Old Master Qin was flattered.

  He thought for a while and understood what happened. Commissioner Xia must have told Secretary Qian about it.

  “That’s good to hear!” Secretary Qian laughed heartily.

  Everyone became even more shocked as they witnessed the scene.

  What was the real identity of that kid? Not only did he wield a lot of authority in Provincial City, but he also seemed to be good friends with the district secretary of Westridge District!

  The Secretary was very courteous toward the kid. Not only that, he had purposely come over from the next town to meet the kid.

  Mr. Qin and Mrs. Qin were thoroughly dumbfounded. Especially Mrs. Qin, who found it to be entirely unbelievable. At first glance, she had decided that the kid was useless and completely depended on her daughter.

  Old Master Qin was also shocked. When he came to his senses, he realized that Secretary Qian was present at his birthday celebration because of the kid.

  “Of course I know him!” Secretary Qian said with a smile. “Lil Bro Tang has accomplished a lot at a young age. He’s running a company that’s doing very well now, and he’s also a renowned Divine Doctor.”

  “Di… Divine Doctor?” Old Master Qin was surprised.

  His instinct told him to laugh. How could a young kid be a divine doctor? Secretary Qian must be exaggerating. Perhaps he was saying that the kid had potential!

  “You have to believe me, Old Master Qin. His medical skills are miraculous!” Secretary Qian said.

  Old Master Qin was surprised again when he saw that Secret

  Everyone looked incredulous as they discussed what they heard.

  If somebody else had said it, they might have a hard time believing it. However, it was the Secretary who made that claim, and there was no reason for him to boast.

  Old Master Qin looked at Tang Hao wordlessly. Then, as though remembering something, he turned around and shouted. “The medicine! Where’s the medicine?”

  Nobody believed him back then. All of them laughed that it was not medicine, but poison.

  They felt incredibly ashamed of themselves now!

  Master Qin stood out and said sheepishly, “I threw it away, Dad!”

  “What?” Old Master Qin’s eyes opened wide at that instant.

  “Well… I thought that the medicine was inedible. There’s no use for inedible medicine anyway, so I threw it,” Master Qin said while scratching the back of his head.

  Tang Hao was speechless. That was an incredibly precious pill that no amount of money could buy, yet it was thrown away like trash!

  Even Secretary Qian could not believe what he heard. How could someone throw away a present by Divine Doctor Tang?

  That was too wasteful!
