  There are many movies whose argument and proposal have strong affinities with anarchism: 1984 , based on the novel by George Orwell, was filmed by Michael Anderson (1956) and Michael Radford (1984), Fahrenheit 451 , the award-winning director François Truffaut ( 1966), The Fight Club , David Fincher (1999) The strategy of the snail , Sergio Cabrera (1993) and V for Vendetta , based on the comic of the same name, etc..

  During the Spanish Revolution anarcosindicalista self-managed film production was articulated through producing SIE Films, Films FRIEP and Spartacus. Between August 1936 and June 1937 there were 84 films, most notably the movie Dawn of hope , of Sau Antonio, a jewel of Spanish cinema classic.

  There are also a lot of documentaries that tell the history of anarchism, among which may be mentioned Living Utopia , anarchists , 1937 - A people in arms , Nestor Makhno, Ukrainian peasant (Helene Chatelain),Buenaventura Durruti, anarchist (Joglars, etc.).

  Visual arts

  Proudhon tried in his works of art theory, influence the aesthetic ideal of the pictorial realism and, later, in the socialist realism: Since the nineteenth century, numerous contacts between anarchism and the art world began.For Proudhon, art should serve a social and moral objectives, rejecting the "art for art" and defending the figure of the artist as a being of right principles as all contributing to the development of society. For him, art 'is an idealized representation of nature and ourselves in order to physically and morally improving our species' .

  Proudhon especially influenced Gustave Courbet, personal friend of his he and Camille Pissarro, Georges Seurat, Paul Signac, etc, developed libertarian aesthetic concepts. Courbet's famous painting is the author Pierre-Joseph Proudhon et ses enfants ( Portrait of Proudhon and his children ), 1865. Signac said in 1902: "The anarchist painter is not he who paints pictures with anarchist motives but which nonprofit, without expecting any reward, fight with all his individualism and his entire staff effort against the bourgeoisie and the official convention» .

  During the twentieth century there were some links between movement Dadaist, Surrealist and anarchism, although not always very explicit, especially in the 50s in France. During those years the artistic production of Miguel García Vivancos, former member of Durruti group, exiled in France is highlighted.

  A mention should be developed based on the art of propaganda and revolutionary anarchist ideals, especially in illustrating libertarian periodicals and street posters. The latter expression had its heyday in Spain during the Civil War.

  Music

  In music related to anarchism, have been around since the nineteenth century musicians, composers and themes well known. Within the latter, they have achieved especially important songs in Castilian "To the Barricades" and "children of the people", both very popular during the Spanish Civil War and the Spanish Revolution of 1936, and have survived to the present day becoming true hymns of anarchism and being versioned countless times.

  U.S. libertarian protest song had as main exponents Joe Hill and Woody Guthrie. In Argentina highlighted the payador Martin Castro and tango composer Juan de Dios Filiberto, author of celebrated works as Caminitoand Malevaje . In France the musical movement known as " la chanson "had its main exponents Georges Brassensand Léo Ferré. In Argentina singer Facundo Cabral pacifist stated its adherence to anarchist ideas.

  In recent decades within circles of theyng anarchists took the punk subculture and thus relevance within this came a specifically anarchist subgenre known initially as Peace Punk and then evolve to be known generally as anarcopunk where conscious lyrics and highlights policies and bursting with anarchist ideology and the reporting of state and capitalist oppression activities.The pioneers of this style were bands like Crass and since 1977, and after a while bands like Flux of Pink Indians, Poison Girls, Conflict and Subhumans UK. Later in this genre also emerge and so the crust punk bands like Nausea stand, Oi Polloi, or Aus Rotten. In Spanish-speaking countries of bands in this genre also began to appear such as Sin Dios, Puagh, or the Dead Christ in Spain, Civil Disobedience and System Failures in Mexico or Apathy Not in Venezuela. Later appear Anarchist Punk International which is a network that brings together groups from America and Europe.

  On the other side musicians, fans and event organizers anarchists have appeared in contemporary genres as diverse as folk-rock, the nueva trova, Hip-Hop, techno / psytrance / , or if alternative rock and experimental rock influenced by bands like Negativland situationism and Chumbawamba.

  Criticisms of anarchism

  Both anarchism and communism ultimately seek acracia or society without authority. However, anarchists and Marxists have been at odds since Marx attacked Proudhon in The Poverty of Philosophy (1846), confrontation reached its climax in the confrontation between Marxist and Bakunin for control of the First International, and ended with the breaking it in 1872. The basis of the conflict is focused on that as Marxists believed in the need for a transitional state workers (the 'dictatorship of the proletariat "), anarchists believed that the road to socialism (or communism) passed by the destruction state. For anarchists, a socialist state would repeat the characteristics of oppression and privilege against fighting, while, to extend the powers of the organization of economic life, it would be even more oppressive. For Marxists, anarchists disorganization prevent them from achieving any success.

  Referred to as the source of critical ideas to other ideologies and movements, anarchism has been as successful as had no ideology. The classical anarchism never attracted large numbers of adherents, and its influence on the course of world history was minimal. The Blackwell Encyclopaedia of Political Thought says the anarchist idea of a society organized without a central authority is against the development of the role of the state parallel to the experienced industrialization in advanced societies, and that requires a huge leap of faith.In this regard, the anarchist historian George Woodcock says that anarchism was more a movement of rebellion than revolution, protest and resistance to the social revolution from the mid-eighteenth century, with the contribution of scientific and technological progress, leads to world into an economic and political centralization, which implies subordination of the individual to the state. Notes that this negative versus revolution, anarchists protested in the name of human dignity, and this possibly his greatest achievement.
