Longing For His kiss

“Um. Well . . .” Kim shifted her weight several times, hemming and hawing as if she were unsure how to answer. “I’ve only done it once.”
Grace’s eyes widened. She’d only had kinky sex once and she’d joined a kink club? Wow. That was . . . wow. Grace couldn’t imagine. Maybe Kim really was a Domme.
While Grace was still trying to figure out how to respond, Kim’s attention shifted to something across the room. Grace looked to see what had caught her eye. Justin, the Dom who’d shown her around that first night—the one Alexander had made her come in front of—was striding toward the bar. He wasn’t looking their way. As far as Grace could tell, he hadn’t noticed them yet.
The look on Kim’s face appeared to be more than casual interest. “Do you know Sir Justin?”
Ali was the one who spoke up. “He’s her brother’s best friend. They’ve known each other for years. Right, Kim?”
It took Kim longer than it should to answer. “Yeah. We’ve um . . . we’ve known each other since high school.”
As if he knew they were talking about him, his gaze landed on the three of them. Only a second passed before shock crossed his face followed by what appeared to be extreme displeasure. Given there was no reason for him to be upset or even surprised by Grace or Ali’s presence at the club, she could only assume that his reaction was for Kim. He clearly wasn’t happy she was at Serpent’s Kiss.
“I . . . I need to use the bathroom,” Kim muttered before making a beeline for the locker rooms.
“What was that all about?” Grace asked.
Ali shook her head, looking in the direction her friend had gone. “I have no idea. Maybe she’s afraid he’ll tell her brother.”
Maybe. But that wasn’t the vibe she was getting.
Unfortunately, she wasn’t able examine it any further. Alexander came up beside her and placed a hand on her lower back. “Ali.”
“Good evening, Sir.”
He looked down at Grace. “Meet me on the platform in fifteen minutes. I’m going to get us some waters.”
“Yes, Master.”
Ali fanned herself as Alexander walked away. “You are so lucky.”
Grace couldn’t disagree. “I know.”
Not wanting to linger, she told Ali she’d catch her later and headed to the restroom. She had no idea how long their scene would last and it was better to be prepared.
She walked into the bathroom, finding an empty stall. At first, she thought she heard a humming sound, as if someone was singing. But then she realized it wasn’t singing. It was talking. And considering the low volume, whoever it was had to be talking to themselves.
Grace finished up and exited the stall. Once she’d washed her hands, she waited, but no one came out. She debated whether or not she should go and get someone, but what would she tell them? That she thought someone was mumbling to themselves in the bathroom?
Realizing she had to make a decision, Grace went back to the stalls and found the one the sound was coming from. She tapped on the door of the stall and the noise stopped.
“Are you okay?” Grace asked.
No one answered. Then then door opened to reveal Kim. She looked somewhat embarrassed. “Sorry. I didn’t realize anyone could hear me.”
Grace frowned.
Kim stepped out of the stall and Grace moved out of the way. She went to the sink and turned on the water. “Justin has been my brother’s best friend since high school. I guess I wasn’t as ready to see him as I thought I was.”
This surprised Grace. “So you knew he was a member here?”
“Yeah. When I came with Ali a few months ago, I saw him then.”
Grace thought about what Ali had told her. “Are you afraid he’ll say something to your brother?” She highly doubted it. From what she knew of Justin, he was a well-respected Dom at the club. To betray another member’s privacy, friend of the family or not, would be a huge violation and would probably get his membership revoked.
“No. I don’t think so.” Kim smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “Don’t you have to go? I thought you were doing a demonstration or something tonight.”
All the color drained from Grace’s face. She’d been so worried about Kim, she hadn’t been thinking about the time. The last thing she wanted was to start the scene off on the wrong foot. “I—”
“Go. I’ll be fine. Promise.”
Grace had no choice but to believe her. She hurried out of the bathroom and went straight to the stage. When she realized Alexander wasn’t there yet, she breathed a sigh of relief.
“Cutting it close, aren’t you, gattina?” Alexander’s voice came from behind her.
She lowered her gaze to the floor. “Yes, Sir.” Later, when they were alone, she’d explain why she’d almost been late, but given their audience, she decided not to go into detail.
He studied her face for a moment, and then nodded before reaching for a white lab coat that was draped across a round stool.
As he put the coat on, Grace saw Kim emerge from the restroom. She stayed along the edge of the crowd.
Alexander moved to stand in front of her, blocking her view of everyone but him. He tilted her chin up, making her look at him. He rubbed his thumb along her jaw as he gazed into her eyes. “Ready?”
For him, she would always be ready. “Yes, Master.”

Acknowledgements
Writing a book is always a journey and I’m lucky to have had some wonderful people along for the ride on this one.
Thank you to my beta reader, Riane Holt. I’m not sure how she does it, but somehow she’s able to find the littlest inconsistency within a story. Her eagle eyes never cease to amaze me.
Thank you to my two editors, Wyndy and Andrea, and to my proofreader, Angela, for helping make my book the best it could be.
A big thank you to Sara Eirew, my photographer and cover designer. Her beautiful pictures never cease to amaze me.
Although I’m writing fiction, I like for the stories to be somewhat believable and as true to life as possible. I want to thank Mack for reading through all the BDSM scenes in the book to make sure I got them right.

About the Author
Sherri spent most of her childhood detesting English class. It was one of her least favorite subjects because she never seemed to fit into the standard mold. She wasn't good at spelling, or following grammar rules, and outlines made her head spin. For that reason, Sherri never imagined becoming an author.
At the age of thirty, all of that changed. After getting frustrated with the direction a television show was taking two of its characters, Sherri decided to try her hand at writing an alternate ending, and give the characters their happily ever after. By the time the story finished, it was one of the top ten read stories on the site, and her readers were encouraging her to write more.
Since then Sherri has published several novels, many of which have hit the top 100 in their category on Amazon. Writing has become a creative outlet that allows her to explore a wide range of emotions, while having fun taking her characters through all the twists and turns she can create.
