That Girl: Bre

Page 11

by Amber Monroe

“Shhhhh. No. I haven’t noticed anything like that. It’s just…. I don’t think he’s who he pretends to be. He just seems sneaky, but I know Bre. She’s strong, and I know she’ll say something if something wasn’t right.”

“Well, I hope everything is straight. I don’t know what I’ll do if I ever hear anything about him hurting her and the baby. And speaking of the baby, does she know what she’s having yet?”

  “Yes, but don’t say anything.”

  “I won’t.”

  “It’s a girl.”

“Another girl,” I said as I playfully rolled my eyes. It seemed like Wayne, and I was going to be only guys through my mother. Wayne already had two girls, now Bre was bringing in another one.

“Yes, another girl. What’s wrong with girls?”

“Nothing, but drama, girly shit, drama, and stress.”

“Wow, is that how you feel about me?” She said and punched me in the arm.

“Nah, not you. You’re special.” I said as I wrapped my arm around her shoulder.

  “Mhm. Whatever.”

  “You are.”

  “I better be.

“Do you plan on telling Bre?” I asked.

“I should since we’re official now. I don’t want to keep lying to her.”

“Yeah, well you didn’t have to lie, you know? Are you ashamed of me or something?”

“What?! No, I just wasn’t sure how she would take it if her best friend was messing around with her brother. Girl code.”

“Yeah, whatever. You better never be ashamed of me.”

“You either. So let all the girls on your line know that you’re taken now.”

“I gotcha, but I don’t have that many girls that I talk to like you’re probably assuming.”

“Well, I don’t care anymore as long as they’re gone now.”

  “I said I gotcha.”

“And we need to go on an official date.”

“This wasn’t it?” I joked. She hit me again.

“I’m not playing Eric. I want an actual date that you plan. I’ll just show up.”

“Okay,” I said, then grabbed her hand and kissed it.

“Let’s take a shower and change these sheets,” Chianne said as she got up and I followed.

“I love you, Eric. I’ve never been so vulnerable around anyone else. I gave you something that I treasure a lot, and I don’t know what we become after this day, but promise that you won’t play me or break my heart.”

“I love you too, Chi. And I promise to never break your heart or play with your feelings.”

This club life was starting to get boring after two weeks of this shit. Roon had my ass in every damn club in the city, and I was already over it. Although we were always in the VIP section, it stayed crowded with thirsty mofos trying to get free liquor or get on with Roon. Roon was never into attention, so he was laid back most of the time we were in the club. I was the same and just sipped from a bottle or smoked my blunt. Tonight we were at Bliss, and the scene was the same as every other club. However, Roon was coming through later because he had a business meeting to attend first.

“Can I sit here?” This soft, feminine voice asked. I was caught off guard because most people just sat down without even asking or was looking for the liquor before they even introduced themselves. I took a minute to check shawty out. She was cute as fuck but looked a little young. Hell, I wasn’t even twenty-one, and here I was in the club, ordering drinks like I was legal. Anywho, she was brown skin like a Twix bar with uniquely-shaped eyes like cat eyes but had a mystique shape. Her nose reminded me of Alvin and the Chipmunks, but it was cute and fitted her face. She had luscious thick lips that were heavily coated in lip gloss. Her black hair was hanging down her back and curly; it probably was a wig because that’s what chicks wore nowadays. And she was wearing this low v-cut bright orange dress that stopped above her knees and matching heels. That orange color really complimented her complexion and had me lusting after her already.

“Yes….no?” She said, bringing me back from my thoughts. Damn was she beautiful, and that body was perfect. She had a shape like Draya Michelle.

“My bad. Yeah, sure.” I said as I moved over to make some room for her even though she had plenty. Once she sat down, I got a whiff of her sweet coconut perfume.

“Do you have a lighter?” She asked as she pulled a blunt from her small clear purse. Just my luck, I did since I was now a regular smoker. I took it out of my pockets and handed it to her.

“I’m not going to steal it, you don’t have to watch me.” She joked. Damn, her smile was cute. I laughed a little because I guess I was staring too hard. After she lit her blunt, she put my lighter in her purse.

“So, you just steal people’s lighters?” I asked playfully.

“So, you just stare without asking people for their name, at least?” She countered.

“If you give me your name, will you give me my lighter back? That’s my third one this week since people like you keep taking them.”

“People like me? You don’t even know me.” She smiled.

  “Should I?”

“Yeah, you should.” She said as she blew out some smoke then leaned closer to me. “Don’t you want to?” She asked, licking her lips. Damn, I haven’t been on the single scene long, but this girl was about to make me cuff her ass. I couldn’t because she was coming off a little too promiscuous, but I didn’t mind because it showed she wasn’t about games. I’ve been single for two weeks, and all I managed to do was get some head from two different broads. Although I was on my single wave, I wasn’t trying to stick my guy up in anything. I was real selective with who got this work.

“What’s your name, shawty?” I asked her.

  “Mikayla.”

“Nice crib,” I said as we entered her apartment. We ended up here because I couldn’t bring her back to my house, and her spot was closer.

“Thanks. Make yourself at home.” She said as she walked into a room. I sat down on the cream-colored sectional and looked around. The first thing I noticed was some man’s sneakers on a shoe rack by the door. Then I saw men’s clothing in the laundry basket by the end of the couch.

“Aye, shawty. You got a nigga?” I asked. I probably should’ve asked way before this moment, but it was never too late.

“Huh?” She asked as she came out of the room. She was barefoot, but still in the same clothes.

“You got a man?” I said, pointing to the shoes and clothes.

“Oh...nah. That’s my brother’s shit. He stays here from time to time. I mainly have this spot to myself most of the time.” She said while walking over to me and sitting down on the couch with her feet tucked under her.

“And I guess those are his games too?” I said, smirking. I can’t believe the first time I consider giving a chick the D, she was on some side nigga shit. Yeah, she was pretty, but after what I just went through with Aniyah, I wasn’t on that kind of shit.

“Nah, those are mostly mine. His PS4 is in his room. I’m an Xbox girl.”

“You play the game?” I said, not believing her.

  “Yeah.”

“Man, that’s my cue to leave. You ain’t gotta lie, shawty. If you got some kind of arrangement with your dude or you on some creeping shit, I don’t want no parts.” I said, getting up, but I got up too fast because the room started spinning. I wasn’t really a drinker, but I downed the liquor as we talked while we were in the club. She grabbed my hand and pulled me back down on the couch.

“Where do you think you’re going like that? Just chill and let it wear off. You want some water?” She asked as she got up and went into the kitchen. She came back out with a bottle of water and handed it to me.

“Thanks,” I said. It was awkward now. She didn’t say anything, but just grabbed her Xbox controller then cut the tv on. She started playing Fallout 4, and I was actually impressed.

  “Damn, you’re really good,”
I said as I watched her do her thing.

  “I know.” She said dryly.

“How long have you been playing?”

“Since I was like twelve. Look, I’m just being nice and letting you sober up a little. You’ve already ruined whatever this was going to be for the night by assuming shit.”

“You’re right. I’m sorry, but I just got out of a situation where I was cheated on, so I’m a little on edge about some shit. I saw the clothes and shoes and assumed something I don’t even know about.”

“Sorry to hear about your situation, but every girl is out here, thottin’ n boppin’.”

  “Facts. Can we start over?”

“Ugh...I guess.” She rolled her eyes, trying to avoid the smile that was cracking through.

“You have a pretty smile,” I said.

“I said we can start over. You don’t need to gas me.” She blushed but focused on the game.

“I’m not gassing you, shawty. I mean that. It’s real pretty, and genuine.”

“You have a nice smile too.”

  “Thanks.”

  “You play?” She asked.

“Yeah, but I always get stuck on this part,” I said then watched as she got up to get the other controller. She handed it to me.

“You’re such a lightweight drinker.” She said after ten minutes of silence since we were so into the game.

“I don’t usually drink, so I don’t know my limit. I prefer to smoke, but I’m out until my boy hooks me up.”

“I got a bag if you are trying to smoke.” She paused the game then walked back into what I assumed was her bedroom. She came out shortly with this Lisa Frank lunchbox.

“I sneak some from my brother for my own stash.” She said, opening the lunch box and taking out a bud and some papers.

“You know how to roll?” She asked.

“Yeah,” I said. She handed me a magazine off the coffee table and I immediately started breaking the bud down, then assembled the blunt.

“How old are you?” I asked while licking and rolling the blunt.

  “Why?”

  “You look young.”

“I know, people tell me that all the time, but I’ll be twenty-one soon.”

“Me too. When’s your birthday?” I asked.

  “May 7.”

  “Serious?”

  “Yeah.”

  “Mine too.”

“I knew there was something that drew me to you.” She said.

  “Drew you to me?”

“Yeah. At first, I thought it was because you were the only guy in the section just vibing, but now I think it’s because we share the same kind of energy.”

  “Energy?”

“Yeah, energy. You never heard about certain human energy connections in a way like souls.”

“Nah. I don’t really be into shit like that,” I said as I finished up with the blunt. I was about to light it until I remembered she never gave me back my lighter.

“Looking for something?” She said, taking my lighter from behind her. I tried to grab it, but she snatched it back, and I ended up falling on her. I looked into her eyes and immediately felt my heart warming up. I quickly leaned up and moved a seat over. I had no time for feelings and falling in love. That shit was dead for now.

“Here,” She said as she handed me the lighter. I took it from her and lit the blunt, after taking a couple of pulls, I gave it to her. We smoked back and forth until the blunt was gone.

“Does weed make you hot?” She asked, fanning herself.

“Not really,” I said, focused on the game. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her pull her dress over her head. I wasn’t trying to look, but shit, I was curious and horny. I slowly turned to look at her and instantly got hard. Her breasts were perky, and her nipples were dark like chocolate chips. She had a natural hourglass shape. And there were these tribal beads around her waist; they looked sexy as hell.

“You like what you see?” She asked, laughing.

“You aight’” I said, knowing I was lying.

“Aight?” She said as she crawled over to me. She wasn’t wearing any panties and was making this really hard for me. She turned out to be cool, and I wasn’t trying to hit it and quit with her. “Don’t try to be a gentleman. I’m practically throwing the pussy at you.”

  “Don’t tempt me.”

“That’s what I want to do. And I’m so wet.” She said as she straddled me. I wrapped my arms around her waist and looked into her eyes.

“You sure? Once we do this, there’s no going back.”

“I’m sure,” She said as she started unbuttoning my jeans. I quickly grabbed a condom out of my pocket and put it on. I slid Mikayla down on my dick, and she wasn’t lying about being wet. She was wet and tight.

“Shit!” I cursed. I needed a minute because it’s been a minute, and she was the second girl I had sex with. I silently prayed that I wouldn’t embarrass myself.

  “Mhmm.” She moaned.

“Look I'ma, be honest with you, it’s been a minute, so I might be a little rusty,” I admitted.

“Me too. I’ve been celibate since my last relationship. Let’s just say this first time doesn’t count, okay?”

“Deal,” I said then continued to slide her all the way down.

“Be gentle with me, but not too gentle. I like it rough,” She said, and that was music to my ears.

  “How rough?”

“Choke me, spit it in my mouth, spank me, pull my hair...you know, the norm.” She smiled. I smiled back but quickly grabbed her by her throat. Not too hard, but enough to satisfy both of us. She smiled, then started bouncing up and down. Yeah, I’m definitely keeping her around for a hot little minute.

  *Trigger Warning Chapter*

  Boom-boom-boom

“Why are you banging on the door like that?” Jemar said as he snatched open the door. I’ve been knocking on the door for nearly twenty minutes with bags in my hand. I had a key, but couldn’t reach them because of the groceries in my hand. However, I didn’t think I needed them since Jemar and his friends were in the living room. I heard them being loud through the other side of the door, and no one cared to open the door for me.

“I’ve been out there knocking for damn near twenty minutes. I texted you when I was leaving the store saying that I was on the way. Why weren’t you expecting me if I told you I had a lot of bags? There’s more in the car. I grabbed what I could.” I said as I made my way into the kitchen to put the bags down since Jemar didn’t think to grab them from me. I was now six months pregnant and showing. I shouldn’t have been carrying over ten bags up three flights of stairs in the first place, but I had to do what I had to do.

“My bad, we were in the middle of the game.” He said.

“There are more bags in the car,” I said again with an attitude because I was highly annoyed. I didn’t have my license, but I knew how to drive because of my dad had been teaching me since I was fourteen. I had planned on going to the DMV soon to take the test, so I get my Learner’s Permit and eventually get my license. Jemar would let me take his car to grocery shopping since it wasn’t far or he was too lazy to take me himself.

“Y’all help me with the bags.” He said to his freeloading ass friends. They probably didn’t want to help, but I know they were going to make sure to eat up everything. And that’s why I’m glad I bought myself a mini-fridge just for my favorite food and snacks and hid it in our bedroom. Money has never an issue for Jemar as of lately, and that was good because with his friends always being here, we always needed to restock the kitchen. I guess the weed business was booming for Jemar because he went from bringing home a couple of stacks to duffle bags now. Like I said before, I didn’t ask questions, but I was beginning to get a little concerned. He was always making moves, coming home late, or sometimes not at all. I was getting used to it, but this was something I didn’t want for my daughter. I wanted to eventually go back to school and work to make my own money. How was
I supposed to do that with his ass always coming and going as he pleased? Something had to change, and we needed to have a serious conversation.

“Man, we don’t even live here,” Marco complained.

“You don’t, but that doesn’t stop your ass from eating up shit in here,” Jemar said. I smiled to myself. Finally, he was seeing his friends as the freelaoders as they really were.

“Please don’t tell me her ass done got in your head,” DayDay said while mugging on me. I poked my tongue out at him.

“What? I don’t need Bre to get in my head about shit. I can think for myself.”

“I can’t tell,” Marco mumbled, but we heard him. Jemar didn’t say anything but just sat back down in a chair that was in front of the tv. He resumed the game with 3Bit.

“I have food that needs to go in the freezer,” I said.

“The game is almost over,” Jemar said nonchalantly. I honestly didn’t care. If something melted or went bad, his ass was going to buy more food. I put the food up that I brought in while they continued their game and started another one up.

“What’s up,” Ricky said as he walked into the door. That was something else that bothered me. Jemar and his friends had a bad habit of keeping the door unlocked. One of his uncles owned the building, but they were too comfortable with just leaving the door open. Jemar was going to have to get us another apartment because I wasn’t about to bring my daughter in here. He could keep this, but my daughter and I needed somewhere safe to lay our heads. And speaking of daughter, I found out what I was having two weeks ago. Jemar missed the appointment, and I was so pissed at him for that, that I haven’t told him yet. And honestly, he didn’t seem interested to know anyway because he never asked and still hasn’t. I only told Chianne and Ricky since he was around when I got home that day.

“What’s up!” The guys said to him. He came into the kitchen, and I could instantly smell his cologne. He always smelled so good and looked good too. I don’t know if puberty recently hit him or what, but he seemed to be looking finer every time I saw him. His chocolate skin was always glistening. He finally got his braces off, and his teeth were so perfect and white. His eyebrows were dark and thick, he had dark brown doe-looking eyes and thick semi-pink lips. His bottom lip was fuller than his top, and I always wondered how soft they were. He had a little mustache and chin hair. And his waves were always on point with a fresh edge-up. Ricky was tall and skinny like Jemar, but he had more muscles since he played football. As I was staring at him lustfully, I saw Jemar mugging me. Do I feel bad for staring at his homeboy the way I was? No. Ricky was just a friend, and like I said, I wasn’t that kind of girl.
