Hawk

by Belle, Kimberly I.

“I didn’t introduce myself earlier, I’m Hawk. I’m the President of the Blazing Saints.”

“I’m Hannah. I think you know that though.” I have a feeling he demanded my cousin tell him everything.

“It’s nice to meet you, Hannah.” He helps me into Jen’s car and we drive away. He stands by and watches as we leave.

  Chapter 3

  Hawk

“What was that, man?” Jax asks as he slaps me on the back.

“What do you mean?” I ask him back. “I just helped Jen’s cousin into her car.”

“The way you were looking at Jen’s cousin. I’ve never seen you look at someone like that and I’ve known you a long time, man.”

“There’s something special about her. Whoever did that to her is an asshole.”

“Doc told me it was her ex, and get this, he’s a dirty cop,” Jax says as we make our way into the clubhouse.

“No shit.” If there is one thing I can’t stand it’s a woman being battered. Our club has a code to always help women in need, especially those who were abused or raped. We donate immensely as a club to women’s shelters and foster homes.

We make it to church. “Now that we know Jen isn’t in on the attack, what do we know?”

“I was able to find out from a buddy of mine who lives in Devil’s Daddies territory that they have new leadership. He said they are ruthless and reckless. I showed him a picture of the fuck that attacked Axl and he confirmed it was their President,” Delta says.

“Alright, we need to see if we can get a sit down with those fucks and come to an agreement,” I say.

“How do you suppose we do that?” Jax asks.

“Doc, get me their phone number. Delta has his name, I know you can hack his shit and get the phone number.”

“It doesn’t work like that, Pres. I have nothing that connects to him, we don’t even know his real name. I need a real name at least.”

“Well, how the fuck are we going to do that?”

“Why don’t we send in a few prospects? They don’t know their faces,” Jax says.

“That’s too risky. Delta, find out what your friend knows. Let him know we will pay him for a name.”

“He can do that. He worked special missions with me on deployment. He’ll get you a name.”

“Okay. That’s settled. I want everyone on their toes until we get this fucks name. I want to make sure no one else gets hurt. If we get hit again, its war. We will destroy those fuckers.”

“Anything else anyone want to discuss?”

“How about that chick that Jen brought in with her?” Delta asks.

  “What about her?” I say.

“What the fuck happened to her?” Axl asks. It wouldn’t be like my brothers to not show concern especially for a woman in need.

“She was abused badly by her ex-boyfriend. She hopped on a flight and came to Jen,” Doc answers.

“I’ve never seen a woman so badly beaten. Is she gonna be alright?” Jax asks.

“She should be fine. You think her face is bad, I examined her and it’s the worst case of abuse I’ve ever seen. The scars on her body show that it’s been ongoing for a while. The asshole super glued a gash on her scalp instead of taking her to the emergency room. I had to give her 15 stitches just on her scalp. She was physically, mentally, and sexually abused,” Docs says without exposing too much of her personal business. The look on his face makes me feel sick. And for him to say it’s the worst, I believe it because he’s seen shit in his life.

“Well shit, if she needs anything I’m game to help,” Jax says.

“Same here,” Both Axl and Delta say.

“Jen’s taking care of her. We can check on them in a few days,” I say. I love my brothers for this right here. They care for those who are in trouble. We may be badass outlaws, but we have standards and morals with certain things.

  A week later….

“What do you got for me, Delta?” I ask while we are meeting in church.

“My buddy gave us this.” He drops photos down onto the table. “His real name is Franklin Gaines, he goes by Bear.”

“He looks like a Bear,” Jax says.

  “Doc.”

“On it.” He says as he types into his computer doing the shit he does.

Within 15 minutes he has everything on this guy, including his address and phone number. His parents’ names, sisters, his wife and girlfriend, hell, even his criminal record. Some sick shit he’s into. Multiple arrests for battery, weapons charges, drug possession, and distributing.

“Good job, man. Let’s set up a phone call and see what happens.”

  30 minutes later…

“Well that went about as good as I thought. It was shit. You know that little shit is not going to keep his word,” Delta says. We just got off the phone with Bear, the President of the Devil’s Daddies, and he doesn’t want to deal.

  “He wants war,” I say.

“Shit. We already dealt with this years ago. They are dumbasses to go to war with us over shit that doesn’t belong to them,” Jax says.

“He’s a little shit that wants power,” I say. The President for the Devil’s Daddies is biting off more than he can chew.

“What’s the plan, Pres?” Axl asks.

“I don’t want to be caught off guard. I also don’t want to start a war. I want surveillance on them, and I want us to be ready for when and if they attack. Doc, I want you to get the prospects and a few brothers out there with no cuts to do surveillance on them. I want to know what he’s saying, thinking, breathing, and fucking at all times. He doesn’t move without us knowing.”

“Got it, Pres. I’ll get them hooked up and I’ll go out with them for a few days as well.”

“Delta, I want you to get the logistics of this planned and Axl make sure everything is safe and running smoothly.”

“Done,” they both say as they nod.

“Jax, I want things in order and locked down at all the businesses here. We need to let all the brothers know what’s going on and what to look out for. I want them all to keep their old ladies on a tight leash as well. Also, we need to prepare for a lockdown just in case,” I say to Jax.

  “Got it, Pres.”

“Anyone got anything else to add?”

  “Nope.”

“Alright, I’m calling an emergency meeting for all members. Doc, send out an alert. I want everyone here in an hour.”

He pushes a few buttons into his cell phone. “Done.”

  2 hours later…

I just finished addressing the club and letting them know what’s going on. I also contacted a few of our ally clubs and they gave us their full support.

“I think that went well man,” Jax says, handing me a drink.

  “Thanks man.”

We cheers glasses and down the whiskey.

“It’s probably not the time to bring this up but has anyone checked in on Jen and her cousin.” Jax says.

“Doc said he was going to head out there this evening. He needed to pull her stitches out. I’m going to head over with him, Jen said she needed to tell me something but only in person. She mentioned something about another club.” I say to him.

“Shit. I wonder what that’s about. You want me to come with?”

“You can. It’s just gonna be Doc and I. We’re heading out in 10.”

“Okay. Let me get my shit and I’ll come with.”

I know the reason he wants to come. He’s afraid we’re going to be attacked.

“You ready Hawk. I got my bag.” Doc says holding up his medical bag.

“Yup, Jax is riding with us. He’s just grabbing his heat.”

All my brothers including myself all carry a gun. We all have permits to carry a concealed weapon. I always carry a 9 mm and a knife in my boot at all times.

Jax comes over. “Let’s go.” I say.

We all head out to our bikes and ride to Jen
s house and arrive in 15 minutes. As we pull up to the driveway I see Jen’s car; she bought herself a white BMW with the Christmas bonus we gave all employees last year.

We make our way up to the door and knock.

“Coming.” We hear from the other side of the door. Jen peaks through the side window before opening. Good girl. She opens up.

“Hey Hawk, Jax and Doc. Come in.” She leads us in. “Can I get you guys anything?”

  “What cha got?” I ask.

“We have iced tea, sprite, water and guava juice.”

  “Guava juice?” I ask.

“Yeah, Hannah loves the stuff.” She says.

  “Interesting.” I say.

“Where is Hannah?” Doc asks looking around for her.

“She’s in her room, she just showered. Let me go grab her.” She disappears down the hallway. Jen’s house is nice and quaint. It also smells great. She returns with Hannah. She looks better. I can actually see her eyes. They are beautiful. Hannah and Jen have the same strange eye colors. One is grey and the other brown. Hannah’s eyes are lighter. Her eyes are also larger and her lashes are stunningly long and curly. Her mouth is beautifully shaped and is perfect except for the stitches. She definitely looks less swollen.

“Hello.” Hannah says standing far away from us. She’s standing hugging herself tight. Of course her body is covered in a long hoodie and sweats.

“Hi there. How are you doing?” I ask her.

“I’m healing. Thanks.” She looks down at the floor.

“Would it be alright if I take a look at you Hannah?” Doc says.

“Yeah, that would be fine. Can we do it in private?”

“Of course. Let’s go.” Doc says following her to her bedroom.

I turn my attention to Jen. “Jen, what did you have to tell me?” I say.

She goes to her living room and sits down on the sofa. Jax and I follow sitting across from her. These couches are comfortable.

“A couple guys came into the strip club yesterday. They came at the weird hour to get lunch. Not many people were in the club. I didn’t recognize them. Anyways, I heard them talking about robbing the tattoo shop. They also mentioned attacking Axl. They said something about how easy it was to get to them and that their guy on the inside was feeding them intel on how the club operates.”

  “Shit!” I can’t believe what I’m hearing.

“Did they say anything about who the guy on the inside was?” Jax asks.

“No, all they said was that he has been with the club for a while. It sounded like they were feeding his drug addiction. They kept talking about smack.”

“Fucking shit.” I curse out and Jen jumps a little. Startled. “Sorry about that. I don’t mean to disrespect.”

  “No, it’s alright.”

  “Did they say anything else?”

“No. That’s all I remember. I don’t know if that helps you or not but I needed to tell you in person. I don’t know if they are listening to your phones or anything. It seemed like they had bugged the clubhouse or something.”

“Why would you say that?” Doc says as he walks out with Hannah following behind. She is pulling on her hoodie. I got a glimpse of her neck. There are hand imprint bruises around her neck. Hannah goes over to sit next to Jax.

Jen looks over to me, asking my permission to tell him. I nod yes.

“I heard some guys at the club talking about spying on you guys. He knew things that only someone on the inside would know. Granted, they said they had someone on the inside but it seemed more than that.” Jen says. Her eyes scan the room.

“Is it possible Doc?” I ask him.

“I mean, it’s possible but unless someone is a fucking rat and planted bugs in the clubhouse then it’s impossible.”

“How can we check?” Jax asks.

“I’ll have to do a sweep with a device when we get back. I usually do it monthly. I haven’t done it this month yet.”

“Alright. Get it done.” I turn my attention to Hannah and so does Jax.

“How are you doing Hannah?” Jax asks.

“I’m okay, better that I’m with Jen now and thanks to Doc here I can breathe better.” It’s true she’s walking better and she’s able to actually speak sentences without catching her breath.

“You’re healing up pretty nicely. I see Doc did a great job removing those stitches.” I say to her.

“Thanks. I appreciate it. It’s nice to not have them in anymore. I felt like a voodoo doll.” She gets up and heads to the kitchen. She grabs herself something to drink and comes back with some pink juice.

“What is that?” I ask her.

“It’s guava juice. Would you like some?” She offers me her cup.

I take it and take a sip. “Wow, that’s pretty fucking delicious. Where do you get that?”

“The local store has it. I dilute it with water because it can be too sweet.”

“I love it.” I say to her and hand her the cup back. Our fingers graze and I feel a little shock. I also notice that one of her fingers is bloodied.

“What happened to your finger?” I ask her.

“I was at the market and some guy accidentally dropped a can on it.” She retracts her hands into her sweatshirt. She’s like a little hermit. I haven’t seen her hair; I actually can’t really make out what her body is like either. From what, Doc told me it’s very short. The fucker cut her hair off.

“Is there anything else you can tell us Jen?” I ask.

“Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I almost forgot.” She goes to her purse and pulls out her cell phone. “I took a picture of the tattoos they had on their arms. They were disgusting and that’s a lot coming from the manager of a strip club.” She shows us the photos of the tattoos and its two girls fucking. There’s also a weird little devil tattooed on both of them.

“Can you send me that?” I ask her.

“Yeah, of course.” She sends me the photo.

“Got it. Thank you. Well ladies, it was nice but we need to get going.” Right at the moment, the doorbell rings. “Who’s that?” I ask. Jax, Doc and I all stand on alert.

“It’s the takeout. We ordered Chinese.” Jen says as she goes over to the door. She peeks out the side window and then opens the door. I hear her talking to the delivery guy. I turn my attention to Hannah, she’s playing with her thumbs.

“So Hannah, what did you do before moving to our lovely little town?” I ask her. I’m curious. No one has mentioned what she did for a living.

  “I was a chef.”

  “Really, what kind of food?”

“I studied French and Italian cooking but I can make it all,” she says.

“My cousin here has Michelin stars. She’ll have to cook for you sometime, it’s sinful. She makes pasta from scratch, and her chocolate croissants and pistachio gelato. Ugh, I could just die thinking about it.” Jen says.

“You have Michelin stars. That means you’re pretty famous in the cooking world,” Doc says.

“Not really. I keep to myself. I like my privacy. I mostly just post recipes and cooking videos online now. It’s too tiring to work in a restaurant.” Hannah says.

“Hannah, I got you that soup you wanted.” Jen walks over and places a bowl of soup on the table for Hannah. Hannah gets up and sits at the table. “Do you guys want to stay for dinner? The restaurant gave us more food than we ordered. It’s too much.”

“Sure. That would be great Jen.” Jax answers. I make my way to the kitchen and grab a plate and then sit down across from Hannah.

“How come you’re not eating the other food?” I ask her.

“It hurts my jaw to chew.” I nod in understanding. Jax is sitting with Jen, I think my brother might have something for our manager here. I notice Hannah staring at them flirting. I want to get to know her but I don’t want to press her. I’m drawn to Hannah more than I’ve been drawn to any other female. There’s something special about her.

  Chapter 4

  Hannah

Doc just came by and removed the stitches from my head and lip. It feels so much better, I feel so much better. Jen ordered food and now the Blazing Saints president, vice President and doctor are having dinner with us. I’m sitting across from Hawk; I can tell he’s trying to make conversation with me but I don’t know what to tell him. I’m embarrassed to be seen in front of him; I look terrible. Jen just told them I’m a famous chef. I’ve never really embraced that title. I stopped working in a restaurant months ago. It got too exhausting on my body especially after being beaten. I couldn’t do it. I’ve been posting recipes and videos online. People seem to like them, I have millions of views on my cooking videos within hours of posting. I never post my face just my hands cooking. I also wrote a couple cookbooks that made me very comfortable until my ex stole it all.

“What’s your favorite food?” Hawk asks me. He’s gorgeous, like so gorgeous I don’t want to look at him because it’s a lot to take in.

“I love cold Chinese food, especially Chow Mein. I can eat that stuff for breakfast. How about you?” I sip my soup.

“I love me a mean steak with a baked potato.” Steak and potatoes type of guy. I wonder if he’s picky about his food. He seems to be eating everything on his plate so far.

“Steak and potatoes man. It fits.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Hawk says laughing.

“It’s just that usually macho men, love steak and potatoes. Why are you called Hawk?”

  “Because I see everything.”

“Okay. That’s not creepy at all.”

“It’s not. I’m a Hawk, I know what’s going on at all times. It’s why I’m President. It’s what allows me to keep everyone safe.”

  “I see.”

“You know, you’re cousin and you have the most unique eyes. It’s beautiful. Yours are lighter and clearer than Jen’s.”

“Thanks. Our dad’s had the same eyes. Her dad and my dad were brothers. They both had the two different eye colors. It’s a trait passed down in our family. We are the last ones with the eyes. Hopefully, when we have kids it gets passed down.”
