Ritual
by Charles Dreme
Kasey Munroe is a thirty-something popstar who's flown to Africa to reinvent her image in an exotic photoshoot. While taking a walk in the jungle she bumps into a native known as Udu. Neither speak the other's language, but a connection is made and sexual tension almost overwhelms Kasey. Commonsense reasserting itself Kasey flees, but she becomes obsessed with the encounter. The next night Kasey is spirited away to Udu's village by one of his warriors, a man she labels Topknot, and while Udu's subjects watch she gives herself to Udu in a ceremony she does not understand. Afterwards Topknot returns her to the chalet where she's staying, but the encounter commences a nightly ritual upon which, unknown to Kasey, the whole power structure of Udu's tribe hinges.
