“I’m in love with you,” Jason told her in a soft voice. “What?” Mia had been drowsy from work and from the sex. Now she was wide awake. “I’m in love with you,” Jason repeated. A panicked look crossed Mia’s face. “Please don’t lie to me, Jay,” she sighed. “I don’t need to hear you say it.” “I’m not lying.” Jason kissed her. Boston Homicide Detective Jason Howard had been broken since Mia Hitchcock, the love of his life and live-in girlfriend left him. For two years, they shared a passionate relationship full of love, trust and hot sex. And then she became pregnant. At first, he can’t deny wondering if it was a ploy to trap him into marriage. The fall-out from the accidental conception sends Mia packing to a small rural Maine town to start-over. Jason soon follows, vowing to win Mia back and return to Boston with her. He still loves her. Complications soon over-shadow his intentions. Not long after arriving in town, Jason fast becomes the prime suspect in multiple poisonings and murder.
