Revenge : His Mysterious Werecat

  "I'm here to help my Queen, not take over her kingdom," I stated with conviction.

  Alpha Jared's lips curved up to form an ear to ear grin, as he held his hands out with his palms facing up, then he enthusiastically stated, "Let's make you a member of the Jungle Pack!"

  As soon as I placed my hands on his, I went through the motions of pledging my loyalty to the Jungle Pack, then I felt my bond and mind link with the Midnight Pack break. A few seconds later, a new bond and mind link formed with the Jungle Pack, then I heard several voices come through welcoming me to the pack.

  When Alpha Jared noticed Celeste standing a few feet away watching us, he knelt down on one knee, as he submissively stated, "My Queen, how can I be of service?"

  Right away, I knelt down like he was doing, but I stayed silent, so she could respond to Alpha Jared's question. However, Celeste didn't respond. Instead, she walked to me, then she lifted up on my chin and tilted my head back.

  She lovingly gazed into my eyes and smiled, as she affectionately murmured, "My King, you do not ever bow to me. Your place is standing by my side, not kneeling in front of me."

  I was quick to stand back up, then I cupped her cheek in the palm of my hand and confidently stated, "My beautiful, mysterious Queen, you will always have me by your side. No matter what!"

  The second I finished what I was saying, I dipped my head down and smashed my lips onto hers. Celeste immediately responded by returning the passionate kiss, and there was no mistaking the intensity of the sparks that flowed between us. They had always been strong, except for when she was recently ill, but they had somehow intensified threefold.

  It was shocking and mesmerizing at the same time, and I didn't want to pull my lips away from hers anytime soon. I kept the kiss going until she pulled away in need of air, then I huskily mumbled, "Wow, these sparks are something else now."

  "They're wonderful," she softly murmured, as she gazed into my eyes with an ear to ear smile plastered on her face.

  However, she had to look away a second later, when Alpha Jared sheepishly advised, "Queen Celeste, you should get your stuff packed up, so we can get you moved into the castle, where there will be more protection for you."

  "Yes, I suppose that would be for the best," she quickly replied, then she grabbed my hand and insisted, "Let's get back to the cabin. While I start packing, you can find Lynzee and Shawn, so we can ask them to be our Betas."

  I flashed her a smile and nodded my head in agreeance, then she pulled me toward the forest. Once we were behind the cover of the trees, we went through our normal shifting routine, then we sprinted through the forest to get back to our cabin.

  As soon as Celeste was safe inside the cabin, I immediately went searching for Lynzee and Beta Shawn, since we couldn't mind link with them anymore. I checked Lynzee's parents house first, since it was the closest, then I ran to Shawn's cottage on the other side of the Midnight Pack's territory.

  I was relieved to find them there, and I didn't waste any time asking them to follow me back to the cabin. They looked a little worried at first, because they hadn't seen Celeste, since I took her from the hospital, but after I assured them Celeste was okay, they were quick to follow me back.

  The second we walked into the cabin, Celeste sprinted to Lynzee and gave her a bear hug, then she stepped back and admired the mark on Lynzee's neck. Meanwhile, Lynzee stared at Celeste with admiration swirling in her violet eyes, as she cheekily asked, "What happened to you? How did you get better so quick, and why do you look so different?

  Beta Shawn took one good look at Celeste, then he knelt down on his knee and proudly stated, "Our Queen has arrived."

  "I can't believe it. This is such amazing news," Lynzee happily chirped, as she gave Celeste another hug.

  When they pulled apart, Celeste glanced at Shawn and thoughtfully stated, "Beta Shawn, that will be enough of that. There are some things we need to discuss with you two," then she walked to the dining table and sat down.

  After the three of us joined her at the table, Celeste reached over and grabbed ahold of my hand, then she looked at Lynzee and boldly stated, "I need my own personal Beta, and so does Lance. We were hoping the two of you would be willing to be our Betas."

  Shawn's jaw about hit the table in shock, whereas Lynzee instantly squealed with excitement, before she enthusiastically remarked, "I would be honored to be your Beta."

  After Shawn got over that initial shock, he locked eyes with me and sheepishly replied, "It would also be my honor, but I need to let Alpha Dante know right away, so he can pick a replacement for me."

  "Would we be staying at the Midnight Pack?" Lynzee curiously asked.

  Celeste giggled for a second, before she cheerfully answered, "No, silly. You will be living with us at the castle."

  Lynzee squealed again, then she excitedly gushed, "I have to tell my parents. They will be so proud of us all."

  "Yes, we all need to inform our parents, and we need to find out if they want to stay here or go live at the castle with us," Celeste thoughtfully replied with a smile.

  "We will go inform our parents and Alpha Dante right now, then we will meet back up with you here," Lynzee stated as she stood up and grabbed Shawn's hand.

  As soon as they left, Celeste and I also left to go speak with our parents. Mine opted to stay at the Midnight Pack for the time being, whereas Celeste's werecat parents were excited to move into the castle with us.

  Celeste still planned to bring her werewolf parents to the castle, but she wanted to wait until we got settled first, so she could make sure there weren't any problems when that day came. I didn't blame her one bit for wanting to hold off a little longer, especially since we would have a lot of werecat Alphas visiting in the near future.

  Not all werecats were on good terms with werewolves, but that was something I anticipated Celeste would address right away. She had always been adamant about trying to maintain a good standing with werewolves, unless they were rogues, then she had a no mercy attitude towards them.

  Chapter 73

  Moving to the Castle

  Celeste POV

  It felt so strange to see my peers who once held a higher title bowing or kneeling down to me. It was definitely something that was gonna take some time for me to get used to, but I tried my best not to let it show how out of place it made me feel.

  Lance and I worked quickly to finish packing up our stuff, then Lance borrowed his dad's pick-up for the move. We were in the process of loading up our furniture, when Beta Shawn and Lynzee came back. Shawn was quick to take over on the side of the couch that I was carrying, and I had no problem letting him handle the task with Lance.

  The guys finished loading up the larger furniture, then we all worked together to load the boxes that I had packed and sitting on the porch. Once everything was loaded, Lance and I hopped in the truck, while Shawn and Lynzee went behind trees and shifted into their cat forms.

  I mind linked Alpha Jared and asked him to meet us along the way, so he could lead us to the castle, then Lance drove toward the border with Shawn and Lynzee following behind us. Not long after we crossed the border, I spotted Alpha Jared in his cat form.

  Lance slowed down just enough for Alpha Jared to be able to run in front of us, then we followed him the rest of the way. The castle was located deep in the jungle, and it was surrounded by the densest area of jungle I had ever seen.

  We had to drive through a very narrow opening in the jungle to get to the castle, but I found the area to be extraordinarily beautiful. I could hear the exotic birds singing, while the different monkeys were also making their noises, and it was the perfect way to be greeted upon our arrival.

  When we pulled up in front of the castle, my smile instantly widened, as I gazed at the intricately built structure. Not only was it huge, but it looked almost mythical, and it was obvious that it was built a very long time ago.

  After I climbed out of the truck, I looked around and spotted a large flower garden. Not only we
re there flowers from the jungle, there was also flowers that could be found in other parts of the world. I was especially thrilled to see roses bushes, peonies, bearded irises, and a vast array of lilies.

  I was brought out of my thoughts by Alpha Jared curiously asking, "Are you ready to see the inside of your castle?"

  I flashed a wide smile at him, as I cheekily replied, "I am more than ready."

  Alpha Jared chuckled as he led us up the stairs leading to the large porch. I tried to take in as much of the unique carvings and craftwork as I could, but there was so much detail on almost everything, it proved to be an impossible feat.

  When we stepped inside, I gazed at the sight before my eyes in total awe. I almost couldn't believe what I was seeing. We were standing in a large entry room that had two loveseats, a few small end tables, and beautiful potted plants all over the place.

  Jared led us into the next room, and I was awed even more. This room was huge! It looked like a ballroom or something with the fancy, crystal chandeliers hanging down throughout the room. The floor to ceiling windows had beautiful cream colored curtains hanging in front of them, and there was a shine to the wood flooring beneath our feet.

  It was obvious the upkeep on the inside of the castle, as well as the grounds outside had been well maintained over the years. I glanced over at Alpha Jared and curiously asked, "Who has been in charge of the upkeep around here?"

  He looked a little worried, as he sheepishly replied, "I have kept a small staff here to keep everything up to par. I apologize if you aren't satisfied."

  Right away, I flashed him a genuine smile and sincerely stated, "Quite the opposite, Alpha Jared. I am very impressed with how immaculate everything looks."

  Instantly, he released a sigh of relief, then he happily chirped, "I am most pleased to hear you say that. We have all been coming by to help make it perfect for your arrival."

  "I appreciate everybody's hard work around here," I assured him, then I glanced over at Lance and adamantly stated, "We will have to do something to show our appreciation to everybody who has helped here."

  Lance beamed a wide smile, as he enthusiastically remarked, "That's a must. This place is beautiful."

  After that, Alpha Jared led us through the main part of the castle. After he showed us the huge kitchen that was equipped with anything that could ever be needed in a kitchen, plus some nice extras, he led us to the large sitting room that was fully furnished. He also showed us a large game room, before he led us to our living quarters.

  As soon as we walked through the front door to our personal area of the castle, my jaw almost hit the floor. I stood there with my mouth hanging open and admired our beautiful living room. Everything from the furniture to the carpet, walls and curtains was decorated in the colors of white and rose pink.

  It was literally my dream living room. There was a couch, two loveseats, and two recliners in the large space, as well as, a large coffee table, a grand piano and a personal bar tucked in the corner of the room.

  Alpha Jared led us through our living quarters, and I was very impressed. We had five spare bedrooms, with each of them having their own bathroom and walk-in closet. We also had a main bathroom located close to the living room. There was a fully equipped kitchen for our own personal use, and we had our own personal game room.

  The second we walked into the master bedroom, I squealed with delight. We had two walk-in closets, a his and a hers, and they were huge. However, I planned to switch the bed out for the one Lance picked out when we built the cabin. I loved that canopy bed, and there was no way I was letting it go to somebody else.

  We also had our own master bathroom, and it was also huge. There was a standalone shower, a large spa bathtub with jets, a double sink, and a huge mirror that stretched across most of the wall.

  When we were done touring our living quarters, we walked with Alpha Jared to find Lynzee and Shawn, then Alpha Jared led us all to their area of the castle. It was just below our area, and I was thrilled about that.

  Instead of walking through their area with them, Lance and I started carrying our boxes to our living quarters, so they could enjoy that time with each other. Plus, I was ready to get everything unloaded, in case rain moved in.

  Once that task was completed, Lance and the guys moved the bed out of our bedroom, then they replaced it with our canopy bed. As for the rest of the furniture, we placed it wherever we could find a good spot, but we made sure it would match everything else in the room it got placed in.

  After everything was carried in, and the furniture had a place, Lance and I decided to wait until later to unpack our boxes. We were both exhausted, and it was past our naptime, so we headed for our bed, and it only took a few minutes for us both to fall asleep.

  As soon as we awakened from our nap, we checked the cabinets and fridge in our personal kitchen, and I was pleased to see they were stocked with fresh food. I threw together a few tuna fish sandwiches, then I grabbed a bag of regular potato chips and carried them to the table. Meanwhile, Lance grabbed a few bottles of water out of the fridge, then he joined me at the table.

  We enjoyed the tasty sandwiches, then we checked in on Lynzee and Shawn. Since they had already taken a nap as well, we made sure they ate a little something, then we took the truck to get their stuff.

  We had two houses to pick-up their belongings from, so it took a little longer than expected, but I didn't mind. I was just happy to have them living at the castle with us. It was nice to know we would have good friends close to us, and that helped to ease some of my trepidation about the whole thing.

  After we returned to the castle and unloaded their belongings, Lance and I made a trip to my werecat parent's house. I was shocked to see that they had everything packed up already, and they were excited to be moving into a castle.

  We made good time getting all of their stuff loaded onto the back of the truck, then we all squeezed into the front seat. It was a cramped ride, but I didn't want to make them run that far of a distance, if it could be avoided.

  Once we returned to the castle and got them set up in their own living quarters, Lance and I took the truck back to his dad. We spent close to an hour talking to his parents and telling them about the castle, then we left their house.

  Right away, we shifted into our cat forms, then ran the distance from his parents house to the waterfall. We didn't stay there very long, because I was excited to get back to the castle and do some more exploring. We only stayed long enough to drink some water from the river inlet and catch our breath, then we finished running the remaining distance.

  Chapter 74

  Dinner With the Staff

  Celeste POV

  As soon as we returned to the castle, a short, brunette lady with stunning emerald eyes approached us. While beaming a smile, she gave us a quick bow, then she eagerly asked, "What would our Queen like for dinner?"

  I returned the smile, as I curiously asked, "What is your name?"

  "My name is Barbara Snider, but you can call me Barb. I'm your head cook, and I would be happy to prepare whatever you would like," she proudly informed me.

  "How about you prepare your favorite dish and enough of it for the entire staff including yourself to join us? I would like the chance to get to know each of you," I replied with a wink.

  Instantly, her smile widened as she happily chirped, "You won't be disappointed," then she skipped back to the kitchen.

  She was a cute, little werecat with a bubbly personality, but her shortness made me wonder what subspecies of werecat she was. I made a mental note to ask all of the staff, just so I would know, since each subspecies had their own unique qualities.

  After Barb skipped out of our sight, I locked my arm with Lance's, then I leaned against him and mumbled, "I'm tired."

  "Let's get you to the bedroom, so you can take a nap before dinner," he thoughtfully replied.

  "Sounds good to me," I cheekily mumbled.

  As soon as we got to our new bedroom, I didn't wast
e any time climbing onto the bed, and Lance was right behind me. The second he was lying down, I snuggled against his side, and Lance was quick to wrap his arms around me, as he affectionately murmured, "Sleep well, my beautiful queen."

  Right away, I tilted my head back and gazed into his pretty, ocean blue eyes and drowsily mumbled, "Sleep well, my handsome king."

  As soon as the last word left my mouth, Lance smashed his lips to mine for a sweet kiss, and I was quick to return the kiss. When he pulled back from the kiss, he huskily stated, "Get some rest, sweetie."

  I rested my head on his chest and immediately closed my eyes, but I didn't fall asleep right away. I had too many thoughts floating around in my head. I ended up lying there for close to thirty minutes before I finally drifted to sleep.

  When we awakened a few hours later, I headed straight for a shower. I had just stepped under the cascading hot water when I heard Lance sheepishly ask, "Is it okay if I join you?"

  I giggled at his silly question before I affectionately replied, "My love, you never have to ask permission to join me."

  Within a few seconds, he was undressed and stepping into the shower with an excited grin on his face. His eyes immediately darkened with lust, then he was quick to engulf me in a loving embrace.

  I very much enjoyed that shower with him, and I know he enjoyed it just as much. We gave each other an indescribable amount of pleasure, then we cleaned each other's bodies before we washed our hair.

  As soon as we got out of the shower, I pulled on my light pink sundress and ran a brush through my hair, while Lance pulled on a pair of jeans and a dark green t-shirt. Once we were both dressed, we walked hand in hand down to the dining hall.

  I was pleasantly surprised to see one of the five long tables was covered with a beautiful, cream colored table cloth, and there were several candles lit and placed along the middle of the table. There were plates and utensils set out for what appeared to be a total of twenty, and I couldn't wait to meet everybody.
