Needing You

“Are you sure? I don’t want to…” I cut him off when I yank him forward into my mouth once again. His expression changes to the wanton man I love. His hand tightens in my hair as his hips snap forward, plunging his cock deep into my throat. I see his teeth grit with the force of his arousal. I know how much it turns him on to be this dominant over me. He doesn’t do it very often, but I know him well enough now to know when he needs it. I can be kind of overwhelming sometimes. But here in the bedroom, I‘m whatever Miles needs me to be. His pace quickens as he pants out filthy words to me. I feel myself growing wetter and wetter the more he loses control over his thrusts. “Fuck, baby!” Miles growls deeply. I think he’s about to come but he tugs sharply on my hair pulling me away. I make a grumbling sound in protest.
“I wasn’t finished with that,” I pout.
“Get on the bed,” he demands. Since my belly has grown so much in the last month I know we’ll have to be creative when it comes to positioning. Miles reaches over my head, yanking a pillow out from behind me. I start to protest but he lifts my hips and places the pillow under them.
“Please, Miles,” I beg.
He smiles wickedly at me, then crawls up over me. “Don’t worry, baby, I’ll make it good for you.” His hand slides down my belly reverently. His eyes shift to a softer look before he palms me. I moan helplessly. Rubbing my clit with the palm of his hand, he murmurs, “You’re so beautiful, Riley. I’m damn lucky, you know that?” I shift, trying to get more from his rubbing.
“Please, Miles. Compliment me later. Fuck me now!” I say with a slight twinge of frustration.
He chuckles as he shifts his eyes from his hand to my breasts. He brings his mouth down over my nipple and I swear I could come from that. He pushes two fingers inside briefly before pulling them out again. “Damn it, Miles!” I shout.
“Patience, Riley, geez.” He’s teasing me now. His mood in here has shifted so fast I can’t keep up. I’m about to get up when he presses my shoulders down and pushes his cock deep inside me. I whimper at the pleasure. I thought after the sweet words he’d make love to me slowly. Definitely not. His hips pump relentlessly. The sound of our flesh slapping is loud in the quiet of my room. And so are my wails of desire. His hand grips my thigh tightly, then he smacks my ass out of nowhere. He brings his other hand up to squeeze my breast and pluck at my nipple. It sends a deep throb down my body, directly to my clit.
“Miles, please. I need to come. Please…please, please!” I plead with him.
He grunts with the force of his thrusts but releases my breast to thumb my clit. A few strokes and I’m practically screaming with the force of my orgasm. Miles shouts something incoherent before pounding three sharp thrusts and collapsing next to me. My legs are shaking too much to lift myself off the pillow so I remain like that until Miles pulls it carefully out from under me. He slides his arm around me, pulling me close. He showers my head and face with sweet kisses.
“I’m sorry, Miles. I know I’ve been a real pain in the ass. I’ve had a lot of stress at work but I should never ever take it out on you,” I tell him as I look into his mesmerizing green eyes and tenderly stroke his face.
“I know, Ry. Things aren’t always going to be perfect with us. We’ll disagree and fight about all kinds of things I’m sure. I’ll still love you even when you’re cranky,” he reassures with a soft smile.
“I just needed you to know that. And I’ll love you even when you’re being an ass,” I say with a slight tilt of my lips. Miles laughs hard, then pulls me even tighter to his chest. The exertion of the sex and the long day take their toll and I fall fast asleep.
Wyatt
After Charlie left, I went back to the set for fourteen long hard hours of filming. Originally I wasn’t cleared by the attending doctor for more than a few hours at a time but I wasn’t having any of that. I have a woman waiting for me in Portland. It hurt and was exhausting but finally done. Jesse was still there doing last-minute things, too. We grabbed a bite to eat when we were both finished. It was nice to catch up with him. I’ve always hated how our friendship was ruined the way it was. Attempting to be a better person all around, I offered the olive branch. Jesse was all too willing to accept it. I told him all about the issues I’d been dealing with. I told him about the status of my relationship with Charlie and he informed me that he and Miles still hung out quite often. So much so that Miles and Riley invited him to the wedding. I don’t know how they could’ve forgotten to mention that to me or Charlie. I can’t wait to see how this will all play out, but I pray for a drama-free reunion.
Now the two of us are on our way to their house for a quick visit before heading to our hotel. Since Jesse is going to the wedding he’d booked a flight to Portland for the same time as me. Electing to stay in Portland until after the wedding. Luckily our flight made great time and was relatively uneventful. We talked a lot more during the flight. Jesse spent a good thirty minutes apologizing for the way he’d acted. He truly felt ashamed for being such a douche. His words. I told him I understood completely. I too, had acted like an ass. But he couldn’t blame me. Charlie can do that to a man. I’m a little worried about the welcome we’ll receive.
The cab ride to the island of misfits was long. The traffic going through Portland was ridiculous but now we’re outside the house. I have to swallow hard a few times before I’m able to knock on the door. I’m seriously hoping Miles answers the door but it isn’t. It’s Skylar. He and I had words the last time we saw each other. I hope Charlie had some time to explain the situation to him. But before I have time to think too hard about it, he steps out onto the stoop and wraps me in a big man-hug.
“I’m glad to see you, man.” He claps my back a little hard but the affection is welcomed. “And you are?” he asks, looking at Jesse.
“Jesse, I’m friends with Miles and Wyatt.” Jesse extends his hand to him.
Skylar shakes it, then cocks his head slightly. “As in the Jesse?”
“Uh…I guess so…” Jesse says hesitantly. I chuckle slightly at the look on his face.
“Well, this should be fun. Come on in.” Skylar steps back in, holding the door open for us. As we step in, I see Scott striding across the opening of the entry way to the living room. He stops dead in his tracks and stares at Jesse. I can feel Jesse shift nervously beside me. Scott is only wearing a pair of loose running shorts. I’m not into men but even I can admit Scott looks good. But the look on Scott’s face is one of shock and maybe anger.
“What are you doing here?” Scott asks sharply.
“I’m here for the wedding obviously,” I say cheekily, trying to break the tense moment.
Scott looks up to my face. His smile is instant. “Wyatt!” he exclaims, then rushes over to hug me. “It’s great to see you, man. Charlie told me all about what you’ve been up to. I’m really proud of you, man.” His eyes are warm with true friendship. God, it feels good to be back.
I motion for Jesse to follow as Scott leads me further into the house. The place looks the same. The familiarity of it makes my chest warm. This is the only place I’ve ever really felt at home. I try to inconspicuously glance around to see if Charlie’s home but she’s not. Neither is Deputy. I miss that big beast. I was hoping to at least have a few minutes with him before I have to leave to check into the hotel. In the morning I have an appointment with a realtor to look at apartments, for obvious reasons. I plan on staying in Portland. This is the only way I can work on my relationship with Charlie. Being closer to her for the short time I can is worth it.
As I continue to glance around the house it seems as though only Scott and Skylar are here. “Hey, where is everybody?” I ask Scott, who has emerged from his room with jeans and a t-shirt on.
“Miles and Riley are in her room. The pleasure screams ended about an hour ago, so they should be out soon.” He smiles wickedly at Skylar, who makes a sour face. “Darius is picking Natalie up and Charlie is out for a run with Deputy.”
“Well, we can’t
stay long. We need to get checked in at the hotel.” As I finish the door opens and a little raven-haired angel comes barreling in straight into Scott’s arms. He lifts her spinning, then smacks a big kiss on her cheek.
“Hey, beautiful. I’ve missed you!” he says, still holding her close. I turn to face Darius but he’s glaring at Jesse.
“Hey, Darius. Long time no see, man,” I say, still trying to shield Jesse. Jesse’s made his mistakes with this particular group of friends but so have I. I feel the need to shield him for some reason.
“Scott, what’s he doing here?” Darius asks, turning his angry eyes on Scott.
“He’s here for the wedding, Dare. Calm down, we aren’t going to do this right now,” Scott says, shifting Natalie to his hip. He looks so at ease with her. It’s a pleasant sight to see.
Finally Miles and Riley emerge from her bedroom. “Wyatt, Jesse, you made it!” Miles exclaims. He seems to be oblivious to the tension in the room. That or he’s ignoring it. He walks over to clap me on the back, then does the same to Jesse. I turn to give Riley a hug and pat her swollen belly.
“You’re so damn cute pregnant, Riley,” I tell her with sincerity. She’s already tiny but seeing her with the little round belly just adds to her delicate appearance.
“Thanks, Wyatt, it’s really good to see you up and around. How are you feeling?” she asks with her hand on my forearm affectionately.
“I’m still pretty sore and still have stitches, but other than that I feel really good. I’m just glad I was able to make it here this soon.”
“Shit, man, I’m sorry. I totally forgot to ask how you were,” Skylar says, patting my back.
“It’s ok. I’m fine really. Hey, Jesse, we need to go.” I motion for him but his attention is fixed on Darius and Scott. His eyes look pained. I know how he must be feeling. He had a chance at happiness with Scott but blew it. Scott is a great guy and so is Darius. I’m glad they’ve worked things out.
“Hey, you two should come back for dinner tonight. We’re making Natalie’s favorite,” Riley says, giving the little girl a bright smile.
“Oh and what’s your favorite?” I ask, then remember that I’m still a stranger. “I’m Wyatt, by the way. Your dad used to work for me.”
“I’m Natalie, pweesed to meet you.” Her sweet voice makes me smile. “My favorite food is besagna.”
I turn a questioning look to Scott and Darius. “Lasagna,” Darius says with a warm smile.
“Will you eat with us, Mr. Wyatt?” Natalie asks.
“How can I say no to that? Of course I’ll come have dinner with you. I just have to run a quick errand first,” I explain.
“Who is that?” she asks, pointing to Jesse over my shoulder.
“That’s Jesse,” Scott explains.
“Is he your boyfriend like Daddy and Scott?” Natalie asks innocently.
I hear Riley choking on something behind me somewhere. “Ah no, he’s just my friend from work,” I tell her not able to control my smile. “You are too adorable,” I add, with a tap on her nose. “Well, we better get going if we’re going to be back in time for besagna.”
As I turn to leave I hear Jesse ask to use the rest room. He’s been really quiet since we got here. That’s rather unusual for him. I tell him I’ll be waiting by the car, then give Darius a quick shake-hug before heading outside.
Charlie
My mind feels weighed down by all of the recent events. My conversation with Ian didn’t go as well as I’d hoped last night. Riley is in an uproar over last-minute details and freaking out over the fact that she’ll be meeting Miles’ parents just days before the wedding. I’m glad Miles is here to calm her down because, and I know it’ll make me sound like a shitty friend to admit this, but I just don’t have the mental energy to help her and deal with all my shit. I had a meeting with Dr. Iverson last night after Ian left. I told him about meeting Dr. McKenzie and all we discussed. I also talked for a really long time about all the things I’d discovered about myself while there and on the way home. He thought I was making good progress but reminded me how important it was to take things slow with Wyatt. He has no idea how hard that is going to be.
I decided to go for a run before I explode from all of the tension in the house. Ian leaving so upset last night left me feeling slighted. I’m not sure what’s going on with him. I know he’s been worrying over the job offer in California. I have a feeling he’s holding out for me to tell him I want more from him than I can give. I’d been trying desperately to connect with him on a deeper level but it just wasn’t there. I don’t understand what’s missing. Well, that’s not true. I know exactly what was missing. He wasn’t Wyatt. Now he doesn’t have me holding him back from a job I know he wants. Maybe I’m being self-centered about the whole thing. I just don’t know. I thought we would be able to maintain a friendship afterwards but I’m guessing I was really wrong about that. I know in my heart letting him go was the right thing to do. I just hate how he thinks it was only because of Wyatt.
Running for an hour leaves my arms and legs feeling like jelly. Luckily it has the effect I was looking for. Now I can go inside and crash on the couch after a long hot shower. I think Ian is supposed to come over again but I’m not sure what he has planned. As I contemplate this I look up to see Wyatt leaning up against a car in front of my house. He’s here early. He looks amazing, better than he did when I saw him in Scotland. His hair is still long but he looks healthy and happy. It takes him a moment to see me coming up next to him. When he finally does he looks a little nervous. We weren’t able to talk about what to expect during his homecoming. I didn’t call him last night after I got home because I was confronted with Ian right off the bat, then met with Dr. Iverson.
I say the first thing that comes to my mind. “Nice to see you, too.” It comes out sarcastic and snarky. Shit, I didn’t mean for it to come out that way.
“I…I didn’t expect to run into you yet.” He pauses, then looks off into the distance. “I just wasn’t ready to see you.”
“Well I won’t torture you with my presence then,” I respond, turning to head into the house. What the hell is going on? Why am I being such a bitch?
“Wait, I apologize for being rude,” he replies. I stop to look at him over my shoulder. “It is nice to see you. I just don’t know what you want me to do. How you want me to act. It’s kind of hard being back here. I’ve missed everyone.”
“I know. I don’t know where to go from here either. But I am glad you’re here. I was caught off-guard,” I explain softly, attempting to let my aggravation with myself go so I can stop taking it out on him.
I can feel him move behind me, his large body eclipsing mine completely. I wait to see if he’ll actually touch me. His warm hand cups my shoulder, turning me slightly, sending a jolt of pure lust through my body. When I look up into his eyes, I see it. Right there in front of me is Wyatt radiating all of the love I’ve missed for so long. “You’re right. It’s just still hard for me. It’s hard not to touch and kiss you when I see you,” he responds, his hand rising to cup my chin, his finger caressing my lower lip softly.
“Charlie,” Ian’s voice makes me jump.
“Ian! Hey, I’m glad you’re here,” I say a little too excitedly.
“Are you?” he asks flatly. I frown at him, knowing this looks bad but he shouldn’t be so harsh.
“Of course I am. Wyatt, I’ll see you around? Have a nice night.” I walk briskly into the house, hoping Ian is right behind me. When I turn back I see Ian and Wyatt are standing statue still in the front yard, looking at each other with contempt.
I see Ian’s lips move but can’t hear him at this distance. Wyatt’s eyes blaze with anger at whatever he says but before anything else happens Ian turns to follow me into the house. He doesn’t speak to anyone as we make our way through the house towards my bedroom. I have a feeling this is going to be another fight. When I try to stop to talk to Miles, Ian grabs my elbow and not so gently guides me into my room.<

“What the hell, Ian? Don’t manhandle me like that!” Clearly Darius saw Ian’s unusual behavior because he and Scott are banging on my door. “I’m alright, guys,” I shout to the door.
“As if I would hurt her,” Ian says to the door, sounding a little hurt by the implied accusation. But again he’s put himself in this situation with them.
“I’m not sure why you’re so upset, Ian,” I start cautiously.
“Ha,” Ian barks out without any real humor. “Figures you wouldn’t know. What does he have to do, Charlie, fuck you on the front lawn?”
“Ian!” I shriek.
“Come on, Charlie, I know you’re not that oblivious. I saw how he was looking at you. Is he what you want?” Ian asks with a hurtful sneer.
I don’t say anything to him for a long moment. I thought we discussed this last night. I don’t want to have to go over all this again. “It wasn’t what it looked like.”
“Oh no? What about the fact that every time you’re around him you’ve fucked him? Then when you get back this time you break up with me. Tell me I don’t have a reason not to feel threatened by his very presence!” I have never seen Ian shout like this before. I haven’t seen him act so…jealous.
I stand there staring at him, shocked by his words. He really doesn’t get it. He doesn’t get me. “I think you need to leave, Ian,” I say quietly but the steel in my voice is unmistakable.
“Right, I’m the asshole because I don’t like seeing some other guy pawing all over you. You know what, Charlie, fine!” He turns to storm out but stops. “Thanks for making things easy for me to decide.” I wait patiently as he struggles with his emotions. “I need a minute, ok?” I nod as he slams out of my room.
