  “Wrong about what exactly?”

She rests the neck of my bottle of bud against her bottom lip and tips it up. She swallows the beer slowly licking her lips.

  “You might want this?”

Sucking the lobe of her ear into my mouth she gasps…

“Yeah, you’re right, I might want that. I want you, and believe me, soon, all bets will be off.”

Brushing my lips across the skin from her ear to the juncture of her neck, I bite down. From the gasp that leaves her lips, I know I’ve won that round.

  “Go back to work.”

My palm connects with the cheek of her lush arse as she squeals, her eyes widening the same way they did earlier. My hand grips the back of her neck guiding her mouth to mine, my tongue pushing through to tangle with hers fighting for dominance. Her fist tugging at my t-shirt while her other hand in my pocket pulls me closer to her, the zip of her jeans rubbing against my hard on that’s getting harder by the second.

“God Cass, I need to fuck you so bad. You’ve teased me all fucking day and I can’t wait anymore.” I tell her, my voice sounding husky even to me. My mouth attacks hers forgetting that we’re on the stage so I pull back.

“Me and you are discussing this later.”

Her nails scrape through the now short, trimmed styled beard.

  “Okay. See you later.”

She kisses her fingers and blows a kiss my way then waves as she turns and walks down the steps again away from me, swaying that sexy ass of hers a little bit more than usual.

“Oh, and Elliott,” looking up, she holds on to the door frame. “I can’t wait!” She smiles then leaves the room.

That little minx! I’m so fucking screwed!

Cassidy is cleaning tables when I walk into the bar. Placing my guitar by the bar, as quiet as I can I walk to where she’s bending over the table and stand behind her. Cupping her arse cheek in my hand, I lean forward and breathe into her ear.

“You know I’ve been fantasising having you like this ever since you wound me up earlier.”

She stands up straight, rubbing herself against me. Gasping I hold her hips in my hands and grind myself into her discreetly.

  “Are you nearly done here?”

“Yep, just these tables to do now.”

Kissing her neck just below her ear, her body shudders and my lips pull into a smirk against her skin.

“I’ll be waiting by the bar.”

My dick is solid just from being close to her again, brushing it against her arse does nothing to help it calm down but fuck it. Cass’s eyes open wider as I do, knowing it had the desired effect I was looking for.

Pulling up a stool, I perch on the edge and wait for Cass. Carson leans on the bar and studies me.

  “What.” I frown.

“How did it go with Cameron?”

Just hearing his name makes me smile.

“Really well. We had a little wobble, but we got over it. I let him have a go of my guitar and it seemed to break the ice a bit.”

“I’m glad,” Carson tells me smiling.

  “Really?”

“Yeah really. Look, Elliott, I know we had a shaky start when you first came back but I didn’t want her hurt again…”

“We’ve spoken about this Carson.” I sigh but decide I need to tell him a few home truths if we’re ever going to get our friendship back like before.

“I came back, I know you don’t think so, but I did. Cassidy was with you that day. Her mum took great pleasure in telling me I didn’t belong with her. If I’d known you were only friends I would’ve stayed to see her, but I was too immature. I was hurt.”

Carson opens his mouth to speak but nothing comes out, just a huff, he looks to Cass then back at me. “

“Just look after them okay. I wasn’t innocent, I wasn’t in the Elliott Chase fan club either, I wanted Cassidy to look at me the way she looked at you. I thought with you out of the picture she may have done but she never did once and believe me when I say, she never stopped loving you all these years.”

“Well, while we’re being honest, I wanted to smash your face in. It was another reason I didn’t stick around that day. I suppose I was also blinded by my own ambition, I wanted my cake and eat it, I wanted Cass, but I wanted to be on stage. We’d just bagged some more dates that day, I guess if the truth be known I’d end up leaving again anyway then I would have broken her heart even more, but no more…”

“Hey, I’m ready.” Cass cuts in with a hand on my shoulder. “Is it okay for me to get going, Carson?”

“Yeah go on everything’s done anyway.”

Picking up my guitar, I hold it in one hand as I hold my other hand out to Carson. Clasping hands with me he shakes it.

  “Thanks, man.”

“It’s what mates are for… you were my best mate, still are.” He smiles.

Turning from him, I stop suddenly and turn back, “oh and Carson, just remember, she’s still my girl!” Smirking I pull Cassidy into my side, throw my arm around her neck and walk out.

“And what was all that about?” Cass asks staring at me from my side.

“Just straightening a few things up that’s all.”

“Feeling territorial, are we?” She asks grinning at me.

“Maybe. Would that be a be a bad thing?” She shrugs her answer.

“Come on let’s get out of here.” With my arm still around her shoulders, I lead her to her car.

  Chapter Twenty-Five

  Cassidy

The short journey to Elliott’s house isn’t long enough, but it’s enough to get myself hot and bothered with him sharing the same tiny claustrophobic space. His hand sits on my knee while I drive, his fingers dancing up and down my inner thigh. Glancing at the side of me he has that same smirk he always has etched on his face.

Pulling up outside his house, I turn off the engine.

  “Well, here we are…”

The air around us thickens, just like it always did, when we were together, still does when we’re in close proximity to each other - maybe more now and you can’t get much closer than in a car...

Without taking his eyes from mine he takes off his seatbelt and turning his body my way, leaning across the handbrake. My voice sounds a lot sultrier than I mean it to as Elliott’s heated gaze rakes over me making me hotter than before, my thighs clenching together on instinct.

His thumb and index finger clasps my chin bringing me closer to him.

  “Yeah... here we are.”

His lips meet mine in a soft, full kiss before I can say anything else.

“Fancy a drink?” He asks as he pulls from me.

“Why not. I can’t stay long though.” He nods then kisses my cheek tenderly.

  “Come on.”

Getting out of the car. Elliott, is leaning against the door waiting for me. I meet him at the passenger side and we walk into the house together. As we walk into the front room, Dale looks up from the couch.

“Looks like my cue to leave. Hey Cass.”

“You don’t have to go we’re just having coffee…”

  “Hm... course you are...!”

I smirk at his lack of tact while Elliott heads into the kitchen. Dale heads up the stairs saying goodnight grinning.

“Oh Cass,” he stops halfway up the stairs and waits for me to answer, “I’m glad you two are getting along again. It’s good to see him smile again.”

“Thanks, Dale.” he winks and leaves.

Standing with my shoulder leaning against the doorframe I watch him move around with ease. I’m itching to touch him, itching to have my hands on him. I don’t know where or when everything clicked into place but the last couple of weeks I’ve seen that determination again, the old Elliott. The passionate one, the man that used to make me melt with that one touch, that one word.

His back is to me as I walk up to him, my palms settling on his strong muscled back, smoothing them up
to grip his shoulders, I lean forward and place a small kiss between his shoulder blades.

“Cass? Please tell me you know what you’re doing here?”

I can feel the shudder his breathing makes as I place a firmer kiss in the same place.

“Sex is one thing, but I want more than that.” He tells me in a gruff voice. That baritone voice sends a tremble through all the right places. Leaving the coffee’s, he turns around. Placing my hands on his chest, his palms cup my cheeks, his thumbs brushing across my cheekbones tilting my head back.

“Call me a pussy, whatever you want, but all I really want right this minute is to have you back, hold you in my arms and not let anything or anyone hurt you again. I know what you’re gonna say... It’s about Cameron right now but…”

“I wasn’t going to say that.”

  “Oh yeah? What then?”

His dark eyes questioning. Pushing up onto my tiptoes I kiss his wet lips and smile against them.

“I want you.” His level breathing turns to short, sharp pants. “I want you, Elliott. I’m sick of the games and the back and forth. I want my family.”

  “What about Cam?”

“Just for now, can we not think of Cam. I need you, Elliott.”

His eyes are dark with desire and his sexy smirk graces his gorgeous face making him look that much hotter, or maybe it’s me that’s turned on that makes it seem that way. My hands fist his t-shirt pulling him closer to me.

  “Please. Don’t make me beg.”

“I’d love to hear you beg, but maybe another time. Right now, I’m going to get my fill of you. I’ve waited so long to hear you say you want me again.”

His mouth takes possession of mine making me his - I’d probably go as far to say that he never left me anyway in my heart.

His palms cover my breasts massaging them as his tongue invades my mouth, I give him back as much as he gives me, nibbling, licking and heavy breaths as he kisses me. His fingers nimbly unfasten my jeans, pushing them down my hips along with my underwear. His finger swiftly entering me.

  “Oh god!”

  “Shhh, Dales upstairs.”

Biting my lip, I try to be quiet but it’s really hard not to shout as he inserts another finger and strokes my walls making a tremble run through me.

“How much do you much want me?”

  “Oh, so much.”

A dirty smile pulls at his mouth as I undo his jeans, taking his hard shaft into my hand and stroking, softly squeezing. He lifts me onto the kitchen side, pushing his jeans a little further down before positioning me on the edge telling me to lean back a bit. Wrapping my legs around his waist, my eyes closing as he fills me, a gasp leaving my mouth as I take all of him.

“This isn’t going to take long. I hope you’re ready for the ride of your life.”

“Always,” I breathe. Knowing that his brother is upstairs makes this that little bit more dangerous, exciting.

He thrusts forward, my feet locking around his back as my fingers cling to the edge.

  “Oh, fuck Elliott.”

A hand holds my neck and brings my lips to meet his, his mouth covering mine swallowing my groans and gasps to keep me quiet as he drives into me again and again until I feel those familiar trembles starting in my legs and bursting through me like a firework. My pussy tightens around him making Elliott harden even more if that’s possible. I know he won’t be far behind.

My forehead rest in his neck as my teeth find the muscle in his shoulder and I bite down.

“Oh, fuck Cass, I’m gonna come, babe,” Elliott whispers. He fists my hair, pulling tightly as his release fills me, shuddering from his high, he slows down still panting.

“I think you’ve marked me, fuuuck.”

“Sorry. You told me to be quiet.”

  “Don’t be sorry. I liked it. I don’t remember you being a biter…”

“Well, you shouldn’t tell me to be quiet and I wouldn’t bite!”

“No, I think I may have to gag you next time that way you don’t cause harm and you’re quiet.” He winks salaciously.

My mouth drops open shocked. “Elliott Chase. Next you’ll be saying you’ll be tying me up.”

“Be careful what you wish for, baby.” He whispers then kisses me again. He pulls out of me and pulls up his jeans before finding me something to clean up with. He comes back and helps me down from the side before I take the cloth from him and clean up.

“We didn’t use anything.” I say quietly.

“I know. I’m sorry. I realised once I was inside you and there was no way I was pulling out. Are you worried?” His fingers stroke tenderly down my cheek.

Shaking my head with a smile… “No. I have the coil and I trust you anyway.”

  “Yeah?”

“Yeah,” a huge grin fixes itself to my lips as Elliott bends and picks me up into his arms and takes me through to the living room and sits us on the couch.

“I know you have to get back, but I just want five minutes to sit here with you, like this together. No interruptions, no worries. Just us... what do you say?”

  “I’d like that.”

Lounging back on the couch I snuggle into his chest in the peace and quiet, but I can feel myself drifting to sleep. I’m relaxed and sated and have my man back but it’s over way too soon.

  “What’s going to happen now?”

  “With us?” Elliott questions.

“Yeah with us, who do you think I’m talking about?”

He frowns as he looks down at me. “What do you mean?”

“Elliott really? I mean how are we going to play this especially when we were supposed to be putting Cam first?”

“We still can put him first. You’ll have to keep your hands to yourself that’s all when Cameron’s around.” He tells me smiling wide.

“Me? I think you better tell yourself that, Mr Chase.”

His palms start running all over me. Smacking his hands, I tell him to stop.

“They have a mind of their own, there’s nothing I can do I’m afraid. See...?”

“You better get it out of your system then cause I have to go.”

  “You have to go now?”

“Yeah I have to relieve my mother. God knows what she’ll have to say when I get back. I haven’t spoken to her since Friday.”

With a more serious look on his face he stops messing around and looks at me.

“I’m sorry. I don’t want to come between you two.

“You didn’t. She came between us ten years ago and I don’t know if I can forgive her for that. If it hadn’t have worked, then at least we would have had the chance to try but she took the option away and made it her choice.”

A frown appears on his forehead as he looks away from me.

“I won’t apologise for the things I said Ell, she can come to me first.”

  “Okay.”

He leans in and kisses me. His full lips moving against mine as his beard scratches deliciously against my chin until he pulls away leaving me bereft. I lick my lips, savouring his taste. I sit up, missing the feel of him already.

“I have to go. Call you tomorrow?”

“You better.” He demands. I smile and stand as Elliott stands with me, kisses my forehead and leads me to the door picking my bag up on the way, walking me to my car. I kiss him one last time before getting in and driving away. Looking in my rear-view mirror I see him still standing there as I turn the corner making me smile.

  Always the protector.

Turning the key in the door I walk in and wait for the lynch mob. My mother appears at the door of the living room as I drop my bag in the hallway. Taking my phone from it I head to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. We never did drink the one Elliott made. Mind you we had much better things to do. Oh my god how does make me feel like a sixteen-year-old again? Soon I’ll be giggling like one too.

  “Why are you smiling?”

  “It’s been
a good day, and before you start yes Elliott is the reason I’m smiling.” I turn to look over my shoulder at her, “I haven’t felt like this in a long time, Mum. I’m not going to let you ruin it for me this time, I’m a big girl and can look after myself.”

“What about Cameron. What does he think about his estranged father?”

“There were a couple of hiccups, but we got past them, and it was great. Elliott was showing him how to play the guitar, it was so sweet.”

Thinking about this afternoon makes me smile even more.”

“Great!” She exclaims sarcastically. “I better get going.”

“You hate seeing me happy, don’t you?” I stop her as she picks up her bag to leave.

“No, I just hope you know what you’re doing where Cam’s concerned.”

“Haven’t I always?” I fire back. “Is it so hard for you to let me have what I want, or do I not deserve it?”

“You do deserve to be happy, but I don’t think he’ll stick around long enough.”

Saying nothing else I let her walk past me to the door. I won’t let her ruin my high of being back with Elliott.

“Mum,” her head turns to look over her shoulder at me... “If he leaves again, I’ll be going with him. Just so you know.” A scowl appears on her face but for once she keeps her comments to herself and says nothing, just walks through door, quietly pulling it closed behind her.

  Chapter Twenty-Six

  Elliott

As much as I’ve tried not to let it happen, Cassidy and Cameron have completely taken over my thoughts. Cameron has been using his Mum’s phone to send me texts and he’s rang me a couple of times. My heart is full right now, I don’t think can’t get any happier, but it definitely makes me wish things were different before.

My mind has steered back to my son again and I can’t get anything done, not that I have a lot to actually do but I’m trying to sort some sets out for Friday night at work.

Tapping my pen on the paper I’m using to write down my favourites, I go back to our songs in my head. Travelling back ten years, I remember the songs we loved, or Cass loved. One song that she played all the time was Careless Whisper by George Michael. I write that down as a knock comes at the door. Running down the stairs, I see a shadow through the window but can’t make out who it is. Pulling open the door, the small boy stands in front of me with a guilty look on his face.
